Very funny guy! EASY and fun class to take. No test or Final.

really cool teacher but you can't miss class or be shy because there is a lot of class participation

I loved this man. Took over summer and was actually excited to go to class. A lot of participation needed. But no tests or papers is ok with me. Really wants to know who you are.

very few assignments and no class tests, i didn't even have any major final exam. he's a funny professor though he's jokes can be hard to catch. you don't learn a lot from him but his lessons are definitely enjoyable.

one of the coolest teachers i ever had...if tho whn he talks he tends to use words that are not in my vocabulary or any of the students vocabular at all haha....but a koo teacher if u want a A just do 2 things......come to class....and talk to him haha

the coolest teacher ever, talk to him about anything, a must take teacher. We had class outside most of the time, much fun. Show up and participate and you will earn an A. Peace all

Mr. Burak is a good man. He is not stupid, and not overly difficult. I enjoy his class presence , he makes jokes and enjoys laughing. You will not regret ne moment while your in there.

Mr. Burak rocks...period! No homework ever, only 3 take-home essays, no final. Class is super interesting and funny. He has so much life experience and is a very interesting person with a great sense of humor. I could not say one bad thing about his man.

Best teacher I've had at SMC. Very very easy. NO HOMEWORK OR FINAL. Girls have it way easy in this class. If you make him laugh, you'll get an A. The class is almost a joke. Take it if you are looking for an easy A.

Burak you're awesome I love you man. Take this class and you are sure to enjoy it and help with your writing skills as well as speaking skills. He encourages you to read in front of class, but doesn't push it. My favorite teacher.

Easy class gradewise, but the lectures and reading teach so much. Very diverse material...all over the place, never get bored. Does he know we can tell he gawks at the women?That in itself is entertaining (practically falling over at them) He's insecure, too bad cause so smart & entertaining. Enjoy!

good professor, would recommend

The best English teacher I've ever had - he actually got me interested in English. He was really difficult but if you try really hard you'll get a good grade. Tells interesting stories, which makes the class a lot easier to handle.

Awesome teacher who is just so entertaining with his jokes/stories. Everyone who speaks english got A. 3 essays, which grades makes little difference is all the class consists of. Must participate though. Take him u and u'll never forget him.

This guy is the coolest and best teacher, I had a heart attack to recieve my grade but it was certainly worth the wait. He does not demand much but you got to pay attention and just be a cool all around person, if your not good luck in the class. Recommend to most girls tho, he knows how to mac!

The easiest and best teacher in the whole wide world. Only 3 papers the entire semester for which u must get B on to get an A in the class. He is hilarious and the coolest dude ever. If u speek english, u should get an A. If u don't u'll proly get a B. If you're a girl, he will start hitting on u, so just humor him. Enjoy, this will be ur fav class

Def need to understand a lot of the english language for this class. Extremely easy. I had the wrong book and still got an A in both classes. As long as you are involved and concerned he'll notice and give you a good grade! easiest class ever, unfortunately i didnt learn MLS, which i needed for the university i transfered to.

Mr Burak really relates to his students. The class is basicly you read aloud your HW and articles he assigns in class. Do the 3 papers and homework and your guaranteed and A. He basicly wants you to have fun while learning English.

This teacher rules. He's a hippie and very chill. This is the kinda class that you can smoke fat bongloads before attending, and you'll have an amazing time and learn on a headfull of mint. This class will make you feel like you are smart. I got a B, and i'm stupid.

Mr. Burak is a great guy. His close is pretty much writing, just writing. You have a small writing assignment everytime the class meets, and it isnt graded or anything. You have 3-3 page graded essays and 1-8 page graded final. Pretty chill class if you dont mind writing.

To avoid a B you must do your HW every time and read it in class. Do not get lower than a B on your essays. Never miss class. Sometimes nobody gets an A on the essay. If you get all B's but were in class all the time, did and read your HW, you should be fine. Besides the HW, we had two essays and a final. All papers are take home.

The last review seemed pretty unfair. If you take his class you probably won't be spellbounded by the excitement of the class, but you probably will get a fair grade w/o an exceptional degree of difficulty. Just do the homework essays, read them in class, and don't show up late or have excessive absences. You should be good to go.

He is cool guy, occasionally he rambles but overall great experience. As long as you show up to class and do your daily homework (which is to be read aloud, not turned in) you will be fine. Get at least a "B" on all the essays and you will get an Easy "A" in the class. Great class to take for English 21/1/2

i love burak! he is so tight and very interesting to listen to. he feels very passionate about the subjects and we had multiple deep discussions during classes. we had a pizza party at the end of the semester!

I had Professor Burak for Eng 21B, Eng 1 and I'm taking him for Eng 2 as well. He's thourough and has great technique. He requires a written piece (paragraph or so) often to be read in front of the class. It really helped my writing skills as well as my shyness level. He's not a hard teacher so don't be scared! I would recommend him to any1!

GREAT ClASS. Got an easy A. Homework must be done but is easy, just two paragraphs! Two three page essays, one eight page essay. Those are easy too. Funny guy and pretty smart, just too liberal for my tastes. Nice guy, take him!

Burak is so tight. He knows so much about every subject and he's a riot! So funny. Your only homework is to write a few paragraphs on an article or reading from the book then read it allowed in class. SUPER EASY. He only has 3 essays and on the last day throws you a pizza party. Chill guy and awesome teacher, I learned a lot but not about english.

Best professor I had this semester. Regular classes consist of reading aloud weekly homeworks to the class (not hard - just do it). Hardest part are the papers, but they will be a breeze if you had ANY kind of high school writing courses. Burak has had a lot of experiences; they should make a movie about him. You should definitely pick his class.

Took professor Burak for Winter 2012. Overall a nice guy. 4 essays in total, including the final. Homework is straight and simple, just make sure to note down what the assignment/readings are quickly because he will not repeat himself. I thought I would get a B in his class (due to my essays getting a B+ grade every time) but I ended up with an A.

Great teacher! I loved going to his class. He loves teaching and really cares for his students and wants them to do well. Big heart GREAT guy. Definitely take him!

Great Professor and a very nice and intellectual older man. He's hilarious but no slouch when it comes to Essay's(3 in total) and presentation. Do your HW, Come to class, Participate and you'll learn something plus get an A. Its a bit slow sometimes but the class is entertaining.

Very cool professor thought this class would be boring but it was straightforward arrive on time, do the h.w. present it and that is it, final is a 8-10 pg essay.

Burak is a former Cornell and Syracuse University professor. He makes each of us explore real world problems in our essays. I love how he gives us multiple options in what we want to write on. Even if you're not a great writer, as long as you present your paper well he'll admire you. He can be hard to approach at times, but his class is interesting

I cannot tell you in 350 characters how incredible this man is. I've never experienced anything like it. He is one of the most caring, intelligent, kind, thoughtful, respectful, admirable people I could even think up to describe. I know it sounds like I'm describing Jesus lol, but I swear, he is simply AWESOME!!!!!! And hilarious.

Burak is a chill professor. I took him for Creative Writing, he gives a daily theme but has no problem if you deviate from it. You can be as abstract as you want. Somehow his classes end up being a therapy session/help group type of environment.

Professor Burack is hands down the best English professor! This is my third attempt at English 2 and he made the experience amazing!

I took him for Winter. He is a good teacher overall. The HW was reading a poem and presenting an analysis to the class. 2 essays and a final. Thought I was going to get a B since I earned a B- on the first essay. Present hw well, learn from first essay, and show that you are insightful and caring overall. He's hillarious as well.

Caring instructor for his students, he wants you to learn. If you put effort into your work he's a great teacher to have. I would take his English 2 course again

Professor Burak is awesome. The class basically consists of reading an article at the beginning of class and then spending the rest of the class with everyone presenting their poem analysis that was the homework the night before. Prof. has had a super cool life that he tells stories about. Directions are always clear. Easy A!

If you actually want to advance in English, then Professor Burak isn't for you. But if you just want an easy A, then he's the right choice. Here's how each class goes: he talks about an article he wrote for 20 min., then everyone presents the paragraph they wrote as homework on one of the topics he gave the class before, then gives new topics.

Attention everyone please listen to this, he is the easiest teacher periodt. Trust me when I say he is so nice, he only gives you 1 assignment a week. A 2 paragraph summary then you read it in class. Class is a breeze, no other assignments besides 2 essays. He is so nice, if you need this class as just a requirement take it 100%.

Buraks class was very easy and insightful. Each class is run the same way everyday. It was very interesting to hear everybodys personal stories as he allows freedom with what you choose to say. He critiques your speaking and writing skills, and isnt necessarily nice or helpful about it but the low level of difficulty made it worth it.
