This teacher is really cool. All tests are open book/notes and online. He goes over a lot of examples for different problems and is very willing to help. He talks a little fast but it doesn't matter. I definately recommendthis teacher!!!!

Mr. Dave is a very humorous yet intelligent man. I think that his style of teaching is very unique, but he knows how to make it work and that is the important thing. You have to work to earn your grade, but he is very informative and works like a human caculator. I would defintely reccomend him.

This is the BEST teacher that you can possible have for this class. He will make sure you understand and his door is always open to you. His tests are given online which help you worry more about understanding the material instead of cramming it.

he was a very good professor and very helpful. he also gave lots of extra credit.if you are taking him for transitional math save your notes for 160 or 161 you will need them again. and he also shows you how to work your calculator, he made math interesting.

This was the best teacher I could have ever gotten! He was so helpful. If I ever needed any help all I had to do was email him and he was sure to respond! Also, when you email him about a problem you are having he will discuss it in class the next day and never say a word about why he is going over the material again!

This guy is so cool. I had a great time in his class. He's not rough on attendance, and he explains things clearly. You do have to know your stuff to pass the class, but he will assist in any way possible. Take him for whatever math class you can.

I had a c going into the final and came out with a D. I understood the material or I thought I did, then I got the final and only understoond about 10 percent of the questions. Do not take this class if you do not pick up material easy. Nice man, and never makes you uncomfortable.

He's very nice and a bit quirky. All of his tests are online so bascially every test is open book, but there are only a few questions on the tests and they're hard. The final was extremely hard.

Mr.Buskist is one of the most helpful teachers I've taken. He is more than willing to take any questions during class or office hours. Make sure you do your homework b/c it really helps your grade. Online tests but beware b/c they can be tricky!

Busekist is a very good teacher. He is very willing to help you after class. He gives tests on Blackboard that can be very tricky, but you usually have one week to do them. He is a very funny man. He wears khaki shorts and a Hawaiian shirt everyday. In the winter, he adds a jacket. He explains the material well. Highly recommended.

He can get carried away and go to fast at times but he makes sure you understand everthing before the test is posted ONLINE on blackboard. Tests can be tricky but you have a least a week to do them.

Love his teaching. Have him for 161 and he is so awesome I actually understand what I am doing in his class. tests can be tricky/time consuming but you have a week to take them. very helpful inside and outside of class. I would recommend him to anyone for any math.

The online tests are tricky, but they are good in a way because you can have all of your resources to help you make a good grade. If you miss a day, yes you fall behind, but if you as him for help he is there. Class is kind of boring, but atleast you understand what is going on.

I have always hated math, and have never done well in the course until I took his course. I beleive he is the best teacher at Southeastern. He cares about his students. He is always willing to help you if you are having trouble. I highly reccomend him and no one else.

he is sooo cool. makes math so easy. very helpful. has lots of supplemental work (a.k.a. bonus work) only when it seems like the entire class is failing. he doesnt mind repeating himself. he loves to teach!!! hates the new textbook. he doesn't consider calculators cheating. gives credit for worked out problems even if it looks like BS. haha

Mr. Dave is such a good teacher! If you miss a few classes you can still get an A too...also, he'll replace you lowest test grade with the grade you make on the final! He relates math to everyday life and makes math easy for everyone. He will answer your emails quickly too. He is an all-around good person. I loved his class!

Math is my worst subject, but I understood everything he taught! He's really helpful, and his tests are online, which is a plus! If you can get past the same pair of shorts and strange shirts, I reccommend taking him.

He explains things well and writes everything on the board so you can take notes. Assignments and tests are all online and you have a week to do each test. :) Tests are a little harder than the class material, though.

if i had to take him again i would. All of the test are online and you have a week to do them so there is no excuse to fail this class. He also gives assignments on line and you can take them more than once. He responds to e-mails and will send you notes if you need them.

His tests can be a little tricky, but almost EVERYTHING is on-line. He really cares about his students doing well and explains things to where it's usually easy to understand. Would take this teacher again.

pretty easy. all test on blackboard so that makes it really easy but you still have to turn in chapter assignments that are usually a pain but if you do them right they will help your grade!! hes a pretty good teacher.

Mr. Busekist is an ok teacher. Though he is a very nice person, his teaching methods are questionable. He tries to re-word problems and doesnt check them so a lot of times the answers make no sense. But he is very helpful and wants you to pass. He let our class re take tests and gave us opportunities to correct mistakes.

It's a hard class, but it is calculus! It should be hard. He's a great teacher who will do anything to help you out. He wants you to understand the material and do well. He also curves at the end of the semester. Go to class and you should do well.

great teacher, give great notes test are on black board and you get 2 attempts to take them. homework is key it's 40% of your grade tests are a little less so it's ok if you don't do so well on them. give ample opportunities to boost up your grade with supplemental exercises. HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED

i don't care what anybody says, dr. busekist is a great guy and an even greater teacher. you just can't expect to get grades handed to you, you have to earn them and he makes you earn them by requiring you to do the work. it is to your advantage to attend all class meetings and visit him in his office for extra help; he is EXTREMELY helpful!!!

Dr. Busekist is a great teacher. He can make a difficult math problem seem simple as 1+1. If you having a problem, he will help you. The only thing I didn't like about the course (MATH 161) was that you have to get 3 hours of lab a week and all the tests are done on the computer. Its very easy for you to make a mistake.

He gives all his tests online, he gives a week to do homework and take online tests. The only problem is sometimes the tests will be posted about 2 weeks after you've learned to information so you might have to relearn it.

Amazing math teacher. Really liked him. If I had to take more math classes I would definitely take him. Makes things as crystal clear as possible for the class. We used coursecompass, an online site where we take hw, quizzes, and tests. Warning, it's a lot of work, and that's for any teacher you get because they all use coursecompass.

Wow. Mr Busekist is a very intreasting man. Teaches math from lots of angles so everyone can understand. SELU math is mostly on the internet so you pretty much teach yourself, but if you do need help Mr. Busekist is willing to help. Math on the internet is the main problem though.

AWESOME! I was terrible in Algebra, but he explains all of the concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I got an A in the class. Go to class and pay atttention, do your homework (including the workbook assignments), take your quizzes, and study for your tests (the practice exams are VERY helpful). If you do these things, you can get an A.

He ad a lot of material to teach in 50 minutes, but he did it well. Attendence isn't mandatory, but I highly recomend it. He explained it well. Just a word of warning, the first test or any ad all math 161 classes will really knock you off your feet.

He will go back and explain any problem. He is very fair and will change due dates for assignments without anyone asking if he notices a problem with them. Nothing in this class is difficult. He drops the lowest homework grades and gives you a chance to make up lab hours towards the end. Amazing teacher. Definitely recommend him:)

He is one of the funniest down to earth teachers I've met at SELU. He actually takes statistics and put them in real world situations to help you understand how it works. He gives all his test online and a week to turn them in. You can do them at your house or whatever. He gives ALOT of bonus which really helps at the end of the semester.

He tries REALLY hard for you to understand with lots of problems to show. Math is going to suck no matter what, so take this teacher to make your life easier. WONDERFUL.

So,I passed this class with a B and math was my worst subject.Just make sure you get at least 90's on all the homework's & quizzes because that helps your grade in the long run. Also if you don't really understand something, go to the math lab. After taking Mr.B, I think math is my favorite subject. It's not easy at all, its a challenge.

Stats were way harder then Math 165/155 but he REALLY cares and will do anything to help. BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!

I have never had a professor who is as caring as David Busekist. His class is not a walk in the park, but if you're having problems meet with him during office hours and he will help you out a lot. I also recommend getting a study partner for this class. It was a difficult class, but he made it enjoyable.

Great teacher. Online 1 homework per chapter (7-8 problems). Tests online so u can use notes. Very funny and helpful. Gives lots of example problems and offers bonus. Semester project that is time consuming but an easy grade. Start early. Cheat sheet allowed for final and teaches calculator shortcuts. Take if u want a good teacher for math!!!

TAKE THIS MAN IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE STATISTICS! I HATE math and I really enjoyed his class. He's a great teacher, very caring, humorous. He puts all of the notes online, as well as all the assignments (except for 1/4 of the final.) He answered all of my emails quickly and stayed after every class to answer questions. I missed a ton and still passed.

Hands down the BEST math prof. I have ever had. i am HORRIBLE at math and he tries to convey to you how to break down the problem, step by step. he works with you if you give him something to work with! you will not be sorry. this was my last attempt at trig and I am SO glad that I took him. He cares about his students & wants them to learn!!!

Take this man. you will not be sorry. he is an EXCELLENT teacher and communicator. he does things other teachers don't like posts all of the lessons that he personally discusses in lectures on Moodle. he answers emails often and cares about his students. I am pretty sure he could teach anything and be great at it.

I wished I could've taken him again for Stats, but his classes do fill up pretty fast!

Professor Busekist is amazing ! i had him for Math 105 . you won't find to many teachers that actually care . take advantage of office hours and getting help every chance you get . the homework's are easy he even goes over it in class and also test and quizzes. Overall funny and keeps it interesting sometimes can get boring but you get used to it.

Math is not my strongest subject but I have kept an A in his class this entire semester. He is a great teacher and does plenty of problems from the homework sections and goes over problems for the quizzes and tests. You will get what you put into this class. If you show your work on your test expect to go from a C to a B on that test. He is really good about making sure you understand and making sure you pass. I highly recommend him. He answers all of your questions.

Amazing professor. If you show up to class and do the assignments its an easy A. He cares so much about his students and them passing. He will go over anything you ask him to. Printing out the notes makes your life 10x easier.

There's no 'textbook' but you will have to buy a "Math105 Workbook" that counts towards your final grade. This book will have 1-2 pages due every class but they're fairly easy most times. All test done online in Math Lab in library but he does allow ANY style of calculator. He doesn't require perfect attendance, but will give perks if you have it.

Busekist was the best professor I had this semester. He really cares about his students. I came in late almost every class and he still let me sign the roll and turn in workbook pages at the end of class. Im terrible at math and he made the course easy enough to where I got a 95.

HIGHLY recommend taking him if you feel like you struggle in math. He cares so much about his students and WANTS to see his students do well in his class. He is very helpful and makes math a lot less stressful. He is awesome and I've never made A's on math tests until I took him. Just an all around great person.

Mr. Busekist took over for my 162 class when my professor had to go on medical leave. He was very nice and tried his best to make our class simple and easily understandable. He has office hours everyday and hes always willing to go above and beyond to help you.

He took over the class when my other professor was fired (or quit?). Hes truly amazing. I wish we had him the whole semester. Hes so sweet and caring and always willing to help. He really helped us out and I feel that I learned more in the month that he was there than I did the whole semester with dr. Wills. He is a great professor so take him!

Go to class, especially for the first unit. He doesn't post his smartboard notes until the second unit. He was easily accessible.

Mr. David is by far the BEST math teacher i've ever had. He is clear when teaching, and gives good feedback. He's really good at responding to emails or questions about the material. 10/10 definitely schedule his class if you can!!

I loved Busekist, I have never had a better math instructor. He is very nice and can be easily understood. The class is set up to watch videos at home and then fine-tune in class which is great so everyone already has their questions and we are doing practice problems. You should definitely take this class!

Mr. Busekist is very polite and will always help when needed. He works out problems step-by-step, which is very helpful. He sometimes provides you with more information than is really needed, which can make the material a bit confusing. However, this is the content of the class and some explanations may be better for some students versus others.

Mr. Busekist was a great teacher. He is very clear on what is expected of you. Attendance was not mandatory, but the class is much easier if you attend every class and ask questions. He was always available to answer questions outside of class as well. I would highly recommend. Mr. Busekist.

He Is truly a good professor , very passionate about the topic and sometimes gets aggravated if we don't participate. Im a horrible test taker and horrible at math and still managed too get a C

He knows what he is doing but the new website that Southeastern is using for this course is completely different from the way the professors teach it in class, so the steps of the problems get super confusing. He is a good teacher and explains things well, the course in general is just hard.

as someone who has always struggled in math, i really enjoyed him. yes, he's monotone, but if you record the classes and relisten to them, you'll be fine. he extends hw and quizzes if you ask. this was my second time taking this class and i enjoyed him wayyy more than the previous professor. its hw heavy so that boosts your grade. i recommend him!!

Professor Busekist has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it can pay off. Attend class, read the textbook, and use resources like Unstuck study for study prep - it really helped me in this course. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of it.
