i had to argue my way to an a, as i would work the problems... but not HIS way... I didn't like that. but if you need the help, he will definately work with you as you need it.

great teacher, very helpfull, pay attention, easy hw and also again great teacher.

he is really a cool professor , and helps you out whenevver u go and ask for help

goes slow easy to understand, gives EC but wont pass if you are on border!

Professor Chavera is quite a character. He is a great teacher. The whole semester long, I did not have to go to tutoring. He is very thorough and patient. I always looked forward to class!

all i have to say,if you want to pass any math,just take him,everyone there should teach like him,HE'S A GREAT INSTRUCTOR!!!!

A great teacher, he has a great attitude that makes class a bit more interesting. Every problem on the test is one that has been on the homework before. Id take him again.

I took his class back in 1995. I totally agree with all the comments that I have read. Mr. Chavera was an excellent instructor. I'm back in school, and certainly will take a course with him again.

got A. so simple. most of ur grades are labs which are like 1 month long. Even has make up tests b4 finals to drop lowest grade.

Outstanding Teacher

Mr. Chavera is a very nice and funny teacher. You must attend every class period or else you will miss important notes for his tests. He is very fair and provides answer keys to all of his tests and quizzes. He doesn't collect homework but he gives take home quizzes to turn in for a grade. His tests are long for MWF classes so prepare to work fast.

Mr. Chavera is an excellent teacher. I'm not good at math, but he made it easy and understandable. I actually like math now, and I think I'll get an A or B. He is very nice and helpful. He would give us handouts that we could study. We had 4 tests + final and 4 take home quizzes. As long as you do your HW you'll do fine.

He was a good teacher because i had taken math302 2 times before and did not pass until i took him. i passed his class with a B. i also took him for cos 1301 and also got a B.

took the time anytime i ask for help. due the work you will pass unless you don't understand then ask for help.

Professor was willing to help at anytime. If you do the homework you should pass easily with an A or B. I am not going to say the class was easy or hard. The course will only come easy if you do your homework. Doing homework is a main key to surviving this course.

He is one of the best math teachers I've had! He's very helpful and gives you note handouts everyday. The quizzes are take home and the tests are only lik 10 or 12 questions. He really knows how to teach! TAKE HIM if youre not the greatest at math and do your homework

VERY EASY JUST DO THE work in full and actually study for the test and you will ACE the class dont (like me) and you'll still get a C

I took the online course. One of the easiest courses I've ever taken. I'm not very computer literate, but the book was easy to follow and you had about a month to complete a lab. The exams come from the online labs, not to difficult, just memorization. Take for an easy A.

HE WAS A GREAT TEACHER. EXPLAINED IN DETAIL EVERY STEP. STUDENTS PICKED HOMEWORK PROBLEMS FOR HIM TO WORKOUT FOR THE CLASS. I TOOK REEVES PRIOR AND FAILED HIS CLASS BUT I MADE AN A IN CHAVERAS CLASS. IM HOPING TO TAKE HIM FOR O3O3 IF HE TEACHES IT.

Great teacher! Gives you handouts- no homework- no quizzes- tests are EXACTLY the reviews! You don't need a book and you really don't have to go to class except to get the review! Easiest A you can get!!!

I TOOK THIS CLASS ONLINE AND IT WAS SO EASY. THE EASIEST A I EVER GOT! HE IS VERY HELPFUL IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. BUT EVERYTHING WAS PRETTY EASY!

SUCH a nice guy! Took him for Computer Lit, and he subbed in my math class once; very helpful! Straight-forward class; work out of the text. He's more of a GUIDE for COSC. Can't see a reason NOT to take him!

I had him for summer and he was still able to come through to the class. He is easy going a very helpful.

I took this online and it was very easy but also very informative. You have 5 labs, 3 exams and one final-final is questions from the other 3 exams-i threw away my first exam and he emailed me a blank copy so I could use it to study-would highly recommend taking this course

Incredibly clear, dedicated, patient, and seriously focused on the student's education and understanding as a whole rather than how well they spit out information. BEST MATH TEACHER!!! He explains everything clearly and it makes the course EASY!! Take him if you can!! Only thing was he does make you put hours in in the computer lab but it only helps.

this professor was the best mathe teacher i have ever taken and i dont understand math. I highly recommend him if you have a hard time with math, he explains very well. Best teacher!

Mr. Chavera is a very good math instructor. He's one of the best instructors at SAC; very patient, and willing to help. Sadly though he's gone the lazy online math lab route - easy for him as he doesn't have to grade the work, hard for you because you have to do a great deal of unnecessary homework for a grade.

Professor Chavera is an excellent professor i would recommend him his class is all web base and if you have any questions he will help you understand all you need to do is your homework and you will pass his class review test is exactly like the test

Professor Chavera, is a great instructor. Great Attitude and great sense of humor. I have never scored more than C in Math b4, but now I have A+ and thanks to him. I definitely recommend him for anyone who takes Math 301. He is very helpful and supportive and very smart.

Was pretty good for a math class. Professor goes over material in class, but learned everything from "My Math Lab" and Never even used the book. would take him again if had the oppertunity. Got an "A"

I took him for his computer class and it is super easy. I finished all the work and was allowed to not show up for the rest of the semester. I would definitely recommended him for this class.

This teacher is real bothersome to High School students. I personally like his teachings and will immediately help you when you need assistance. Quizes are done online in a lab. Note- He is very loud and can sometimes get annoying. But learn to live with it.

Pretty good teacher. took his class in the fall, and passed. All the coursework is online, don't need the book either. Overall good teacher just do the work and you'll pass

I loved this professor, at the beginning he was very loud, but then you start getting used to him. He is very helpful and the class was very easy. Everything is online, and you can take the assignments over again until you pass them. I'd take this professor again if i could

Mr. Chavera is a great professor. I don't know what that last person was thinking when they said he's not helpful because he's so helpful all you have to do is ask him if you don't understand. I have always failed math, he is the only one I have been successful with. I will take him for all of my remedial classes if possible.

Mr. Chaverra is helpful and fair. he does all he can possilp his students pass succeed in his class. Attendance is mandatory if you want to learn new materialand keep up. He allows students to retake tests to improve scores and class is all on computer, so a book is not necessary. Great class and a well deserved A.

This class was hard for me, but I have been out of school for 26 years. I worked hard and Mr. Chavera went out of his way to help each and every student succeed in his class. Attendance and homework are mandatory if you want to learn new material also I took this as a summer class and made an A.

Best math professor I ever had. I'm 44 and have been out of school for a long time. Math was never my strong suit. Needed a great instructor. Prof Chavera exceeded my expectations. Excellent instructor. Excellent handouts. Excellent online resources-MyMathLab. Cares about his students. Does everything possible to help you succeed. Best math prof!

Great Math professor! Very simple class. All done through an online program "Connect Math". No textbook. Keeps us posted on test dates and assignment deadlines. Will extend deadlines if needed. He is always very helpful.

I am currently taking Professor Chavera for Math 0305. Let me just say, he is by far the BEST math teacher I have ever had in my life! He is patient, understanding, and helpful! No matter how many times you ask him for help, he's always there and willing. All work is done online, so if you don't mind that you're GOLDEN! BEST prof. EVER! :)

Great Professor! Really motivating hadn't taken a math class since I dropped out of high school in 2010 I will be enrolling in his Math 310 for the fall. Used the ALEKS system instead of textbook. Would recommend him to anyone!

I'm starting My freshman year this fall and had to take the math refresher and had him for the class. Even though everyone was on different lessons he he was more then ready to help anyone with questions or if anyone seemed to be struggling. I look froward to taking an actual math class with him

Great professor. Really explained math. He's pretty funny and will help you solve a problem. Show up and do the work. If you need to talk, go outside, but come back in only if you want to work or have a question.

Expect to do about 1.5 to 2 hours of homework every night. I took his online class and used ALEKS. The professor responded quickly to questions and I would highly recommend. I actually enjoyed taking this class and learned. The class is easy if you do you homework.

Zoomed through pre-algebra and struggled a bit in 420 and was there for every question I asked! Very caring, and cares about the students. All computer based, so if you do not mind that he is fantastic!

I took Professor Chavera fall 2016 online course he was a great math professor. He has great communication skills for an online course and always gave us a chance for tutoring if needed. He cares about his students and quick response to emails.

A great Professor

Professor Chavera is such a cool guy, hes very caring and understanding and will work with you if you need anything. The program used is Aleks & its some of the objectives are very time consuming, so if you have a busy life be prepared to make time for lots of studying..

Mr. Chavera is so awesome! I took him for an online developmental algebra and College Algebra. He is very understanding- when I got behind once, he gave me a couple extra days to catch up. I am a busy full-time student with 2 pre-schoolers and the class was manageable. I could have gotten an A easily but did not finish a couple homework assignments

Professor Chavera is the BEST! Took his online class and it was not hard being that fact that it is MATH. I did struggle with some work problems but attended his tutoring. He goes above and beyond if you don't understand HW. Very flexible toward due dates. Lots of HW.

Professor Chavera is wonderful and I wish I could take him for all of my math classes. Clear with his expectations.

Overall it was a pretty easy class, everything was pretty straight forward and he made everything super easy. Had to go on campus for the final (it was an online class) but I was in and out in under two hours. Afterwards he went over the questions I had missed and made sure that I had gotten everything turned in.

I'm not so good at math but for an online class he made it very quite nice to me. if there is something you cant get past on your own you're more then welcome to attend tutoring with him. He's always sending out emails of when he's available or when certain things are due. he has a good system and gives you dates on when things should be done by.

Really good professor

Professor Chavera is awesome. The class was computer based through Aleks and there are Objectives that must be completed within a certain time frame if you want to stay on course and not fall behind. The grade you get, is the grade you earned. You work for the grade you want.

He is such a sweet and caring Professor. He is always helping and giving you extra time to get a better grade. He is always available to meet after class and even on the weekends... He is a genius! He is the best! You wont regret it!!

Took this class in the summer. It is very fast paced therefore it requires a lot of time. If you work on the objectives in class and at home you should be fine. Hes very nice.

Professor Chavera is very engaged in your success. I took the summer Algebra class and it was very fast paced. Class is through the Alek's system and you learn as you go. Professor Chavera is there to help you when encountering issues. He walks up and down class giving his full attention to your matter. I would definitely take this course!!!

He's very good professor! I took his college algebra course fall 2019 & I loved how he explains everything so well and is very understanding.

Professor Chavera is, by far, one of the most delightful Math educators I have ever had the pleasure of having. He REALLY cares about his students and provides ample opportunities for them to contact him with questions and concerns. He is VERY patient and will never publicly fault or shame you. His cheery disposition is infectious. RECCOMENDED!

Took two math classes for Summer 5 weeks and they went by fast! He made math so bearable and is very lenient when it comes to grading! It;s such an easy class, just do the math! He is very patient as well and most caring.

I took 0105and410 online for Summer 2020. I was extremely nervous for this class because Math is one of my weakness but after a few tries and refreshing my memory a bit, it was surprisingly easy. I reached out to Prof Chavera about some questions I had and he was quick to respond and answer them all. I would definitely recommend his class!
