Don't take this professor if you can help it. His jokes are crude, lame, and it would be nice if he spent all the time he used in class making them actually teaching the material. The homework is difficult and encourages students to cheat, because he takes away credit for every wrong attempt, and his tests are long with no time to finish.

His teaching style is poor. He refuses to go through a problem start to finish, merely explaining how we might attempt a problem of the sort. You practically have to teach yourself the material, through trial and error of the homework. One of the worst teachers I've had. If you like personality, take his class. If you want to learn, don't.

Took Thermodynamics and Capstone with him, and loved every second of both classes. He's up front on his expectations and what we need to know versus fluff. Reading is dense, but so so helpful. Dr. Cole inspired me to love physics again and be less of a burnt out senior!

Dr. Cole brings a high energy to the classroom, often demonstrating the principles he's teaching at the front of the class (I recommend being up there). Some tangents here and there but through effort they do end up relating to the lecture material at hand. From my memory, a lab accounts for 1 of the 4 course credits which can be sometimes tough.

THIS CLASS WAS HARD. But Prof Cole made it possible for me to understand the content of the textbook. Be prepared to spend on the textbook (Yes, you DO actually need it for Wiley-based homework). However, with every topic Prof Cole eases you into it in a relatable way. His methods and drawings are easy to follow. Take notes and pay attention.

Cole is very flexible with you. If you have things to do during the date of an exam he will work with you. Lectures are paced slowly so he can thoroughly understand concepts conceptually which can make them come off boring. Homework due x3/week, and grades are weighted evenly between participation, lab, exams, homework, etc.

There is homework due at the end of the day every day there is class and there are always mini quizzes at the end of class. They're usually easy and sometimes he'll do them as a class. very entertaining and accomodating.

Cole really does care about his students and wants them all to pass however his teaching style is very much "have the student figure it out". Physics has a lot of equations and word problems and if you are the type of person who learns best by doing examples (with numbers) and going over things more than once, this class can be an easy grade slip.

I LOVE DR COLE! There is a textbook, but just go to class. He is an amazing lecturer, I cannot overstate this. The homeworks often seem harder than the material in class, but a lot of the questions have videos to watch before completing them. There was 2 exams and a final and he let us vote on how much each category would be worth in the gradebook.

Dr. Cole is very student-oriented and wants everybody to pass, but if you don't pay attention to the lectures you can easily get lost in the sauce. Very approachable and lenient, you just have to show that you care.

This class is unforgivingly hard to understand. Teacher has the inability to accommodate other learning methods. No PowerPoints, canvas shell is empty, all through email. Class is so boring, last minute quizzes, and the exams are terribly written. Broke my 4.0 GPA streak. Worst class ever taken. Lab/Hw saved my grade. This was an Autistic nightmare.

No powerpoints. Have to go to class for quizzes. He makes metaphors for topics unrelated to what we are learning. Does not go over any math in class. The book and homework contains stuff that we aren't tested on but are required to read/do. Does not know how to put in grades on canvas. Should take this class at a community college.

This is a very difficult class to take, there is no PowerPoint so lectures are completely vocal with some writing on the board. Homework does not relate to the tests. I had to read all the chapters in the textbook to get only B's on my tests. I ended with a low A thanks to my lab and homework grades and maintaining straight B's on my tests.

Homework was difficult, tests were difficult. Physics was an extremely difficult subject to me and while Dr. Cole is a super nice guy he fell short in the teaching department for me personally. Overall enjoyed attending his lectures as he is bright and kind but didn't get much physics, attendance matters!

Homework due every day you have class, and they are brutal, no room for mess ups. The guy is nice enough, classes are extremely conceptual though. Exams are hard, nothing at all like the homeworks. Focus on the study guides for studying. Pay attention to the seemingly useless quips he says in class, they are almost always on the exam

Dr. Cole is a really nice guy and he cares about his students. There is good amount of reading and homework which is difficult. The tests are fairly difficult, but not weighted very heavy. His lectures are entertaining. There are quizzes in class almost every day. He does not use canvas at all. No modules are posted and grades are wrong.

Dr. Cole is very kind and understanding when it comes to missing quizzes or hws! However, his lectures are all over the place. He just gives hypothetical equations with variables only, no actual numbers. Also, he doesn't input test scores so calculating your grade is tough.

This is honestly the worst class I've ever taken. He's a nice guy, but he's terrible teacher. He talks more about random ideas than actual physics and randomly switched the weights of our grades 5 weeks before finals. He won't put in updated grades until last minute, never gives a straight answer and barely teaches. Avoid.

He definitely knows what he's teaching, but he isn't great at transferring his information into perceivable, learnable information. There are lots of side tangents and ideas that don't connect to the material. A TON of conceptual material. HW counts. A Lot. Grades aren't put into grade book, still don't know some of my exam scores. Hope this helps!
