I currently now attend GMU, but when I was in NVCC I had Dr. Conroy. Dr. Conroy is by far and away the greatest professor that I have ever had. He's always there for his students, and is a very caring guy. He wants to see you succeed, and makes you feel wanted. Tests and homework aren't hard.

Most all of the people who give Dr. Conroy a bad rating are full of s**t. Most of them most likely didn't try and ended up doing bad in his class. He NEVER talks about your grades in front of others, he is very clear and always available. If you slack in his class, you deserve a bad grade

Not a hard class, he teaches well, however he's not an easy teacher. He gives a formula u must follow and also gives a good amount of homework and take homes which are not done very quickly. He is a good teacher but not easy, especially for people not inclined towards mathematics

Dr.Conroy really cares about his students, ask questions, participate, do your homework and try on the exams and it will make a huge difference. For the math I need in Nursing this was the perfect teacher to have. I struggle with math however this made a difference in the items I really need to study. Would recommend to Nursing students.

Dr. Conroy wants his students to succeed, not only in math, but in all aspects of their life. He is not an easy teacher because you need to know what he is teaching to advance in other math classes. this guy is so easy his exams are take home, his lectures are excellent. If you guys want a teacher that prepares you for upper math course and is easy and fun take his class. make sure you attend his classes and do the homework because it is graded. HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Dr. Conroy is the 3 math teacher to enter my life that has actually helped me to understand this difficult subject! He makes classes fun by making fun of clubs & constantly "smoking" his chalk. He's an excelent prof. stopping class 4 1 student if they don't understand somethin. All test r take home & homework is graded on cleanliness & completion.

Warning! Just because he's funny doesnt mean he is easy! He constantly wants to see his students after class (private chats...uuuggh). So, if your a student who likes to keep to himself, do the tests and leave, then you DONT WANT THIS GUY! He likes to get to know all his students like they were his children.

Dr. Conroy is the greatest math proffesor at NOVA. his exams are TAKE HOME. he is ALWAYS available to help out any student with whatever. his class is fun. 003 is easier than 004, he tends to get a little strickter on 004, but its all for your own good. you would have to work hard to fail his class, he is awesome!! take notes, and keep them, they will definetly help in calculus.

Dr. Conroy is an amazing teacher. His class is the only one that I dont' fall asleep in. He makes sure that everyone understands what the class is going over and he shows us how to apply to day to day things. he's very clear and as long as you take notes and follow directions you will not fail this class. The best math teacher I've ever had. Provides a great foundation to build upon--I sailed through higher level math courses afterwards. Uses a cookbook method and puts people at ease. Follow his rules & you'll succeed.

Hands down, best teacher - EVER! I had him for Algebra I, and he was so fantastic, I took him for Algebra II. He is a teacher that actually "teaches" his students. He is warm - hearted and really cares for all of his students. I look up to him, even though he is actually a short man.

He is a really good teacher! He is very funny! He makes class enjoyable and makes it so you have fun in his class!His tests are all take home tests and if you do not do well on a test he gives you half-credit on tests! He also has 10 homework checks, and his final is easy!I definetly suggest taking Conroy!I am taking him for Algebra 2 in the spring

He is probably one of the nicest teachers I have ever met. He gives two take home exams, and the Final is in class. He explains things very thoroughly. He makes math fun. I had him from 6PM to 10:30PM and I thought before I met him that I would probably fall asleep in class but he is so funny and keeps your attention. I would take him again.

Great teacher! Dr. Conroy doesn't just teach "how" he also teaches "why". I have since taken MTH 163 and am now taking 164 and he taught me everything I needed to know for these classes. If you listen to what he says and do things his way, you will have a great foundation for the higher level math classes.

I had him for both Algebra 1 and 2 and let me tell you, he is an amazing teacher! I am very lucky. He is the nicest man you will ever meet let alone the nicest Math teacher. I can remember he added 8 or 9 of us to his full alg. 2 class even though there weren't enough chairs. He wanted everyone to stay and get the help they needed. Awesome guy

He is absolutely fab. Anybody who says that he isn't helpful are people who didn't try in his class. If I have trouble, I go see him and he gives help. Yeah he talks about your grades in public sometimes, but he never insults. Basically I would reccommend him and that's that.

All of his students know this, so there is usually a line at his door. So, look at the schedule on his door and get there EARLY. Downside. A little too preachy regarding morality.

He has sooo much energy, for an older man. He is a great teacher, and makes math fun. The entire time that I was in his class, he had me laughing. Although, he can be very sarcastic, which some students were offended by. He is also very OCD about the work you turn in. Everything must always be "neat and orderly."

Simple A lot of Homework, checks 10 times RANDOMLY so you have to do it everyday, test are take home but hard he cool guy but to me math sucks, and he def. didnt make it fun class was fun but homework wasnt, to HIM you can ONLY use HIS methods!!! or he wont accept your work

He is such a good man and a good teacher.I've learned math this semester by learning his methods in class,AND reviewing the methods found in the textbook.The key for this class is to practice,and to do homework. You will always have to adapt to every math teacher's method. In my exams I've solved the exercises with 2 diff methods and he Ok'ed them.

Dr. Conroy is the BEST math teacher you will EVER have. He is a little strict, but only when necessary. Mostly, he's a riot saying "It's time to sing!" or "Jinkies!". He wears a bow-tie, 'smokes' his dry erase markers, and makes fun of his own height. If you dread math, then take him! His methods are short, sweet and to the point. COOKIES!

Simply the best in his teaching style. I took him for Algebra 1 & 2 with no regrets, just that he doesn't teach Precalculus! His teaching style is top-notch, which is not typically found in community colleges. I only wish we had more teachers such as Dr. Conroy as they seem to be rare in this day in age...

This professor is on a different level when it comes down to how much time he sacrifice for his students. He is ALWAYS willing to help and he's hilarious in class too. "Do you see what I see?" Any person who dislikes Dr. Conroy is lazy. They don't want to do his methods because they take TIME and can be a bit tedious. They don't like homework checks because that means they have to DO homework. I don't need to say how great he is, his MANY awards speak for him. I will say that I adore him and think he's such a gift to NOVA students.

Amazingly gifted, funny, witty and loving teacher. He got the professor of the year award. He explains the subjects so well that you understand everything. his work is kind of time consuming but its easy and most everyone passes

Absolutely a must take! His method's are unlike any you've probably seen, yet they are solid as tungsten. If you choose Dr. Conroy, be prepared to take many notes, homework and tests. He has taken someone that despises math and now enjoy's it. I am completing a six-week with him and am attending a full-semester with him in the fall.

His personality begins to wear on you pretty quickly, I'm not one for corny, annoying jokes repeated ad nauseum. Other than that he is brilliant, I would recommend a 6-week, it will be tough but he won't annoy the living crap out of you by the time it's done.

He is a true example of what a Professor should be like. He basically takes control of his classroom and catches the attention of 95% of the students. If you take his class, you will not regret paying $400-50. It's a good inversion.

I took Mr. Conrad six years ago and I still remember how amazing he was. Probably the best teacher I have ever had.

He is the best...he makes math intersting and he will make sure you learn the subject before he moves on to something elsa. He gives out take home test that are 10 questions and he lets you do corrections. His office hours are great and he is always there to help you.

David Conroy is a very gifted teacher. At first he may come off as somewhat overbearing with his hands-on approach, but is essentially harmless and helps bring students out of their shells. Very clever ways of teaching formulas. One negative though is his constant requirement that you meet him in his office, sometimes hours after class has ended.

I've never been good at math, but Dr Conroy really helped me understand the material. He is also very caring, he is strict with how he wants his homework to be done and is strict on how you write notes, and you must have a binder or else... but other than that he is strict because it's good for you. I wish other professors were like him.

Super easy course. Very basic math fundamentals. Dr. Conroy keeps the class interesting with his jokes and humor. Took the summer 6 week course and breezed through it. 5 tests, each 100 points and he lets students do corrections. Hw is easy but sometimes time consuming. If you want a good grade in an entertaining class take Dr.Conroy!

Teaches by experience not from the text book. Very passionate to help students understand concepts. Homework was minimal but lectures based on concepts learned practicing homework. Honestly, Dr. Conroy is the best math professor! He's really engaged when you need the help, however he won't hover when you seem to be doing fine. I usually struggle with math but he's been very helpful in every way. If you want a professor who will tech from experience as opposed to reading out of a textbook, he is perfect for it!

Dr. Conroy is a great teacher and loves helping his students. The grade you receive in the class is only from the tests, and he does grade you on the work (If you get the work wrong and the answer right, it will still be marked wrong) but he lets you do test corrections for half credit.

Professor Conroy really cares about his students. He loves us all individually and he makes the class so much easier for everyone. His study guides are exact replicas of his exams and his final exam isn't too difficult either. Just keep up with the notes and homework and you'll be fine. Dr. Conroy is one of the best teachers I've ever had, and certainly one of the best math teachers I've had too. There are 4 exams, and one final exam that only covers the first three exams. I got a perfect 100 on the third exam, which I've never done since elementary school. For once, I didn't feel like a failure in math. Take his class! :D
