I'm in his PYSC100 class right now, and it's honestly a class I look forward to. He's a super nice, chill guy. Answers all of our questions clearly. There aren't that many assignments so you have to get good grades on them, but he makes it really easy to do just that, and we play study guide games and challenges for extra credit on the assignments.

I actually enjoy his classes a lot. Even though it is mostly powerpoint lectures and notes, there is little to no homework and you play extra-credit games for every exam. I would recommend taking this course with Prof. DeMello.

Lots of chances for free points on tests through review games played in class. You type a short journal entry of each class & turn them in 2 parts. Only 3 tests. He takes the worst score & replaces it with the second best. Ex: 100, 80, 63 100, 80, 80. He posts study guides on Blackboard. Quizlet is great for studying terms from the slides/guide.

Professor Demello make's the material entertaining & provides plenty of opportunities for students to improve their grade. The Journals help reinforce the material learned throughout the course, and the lecture's notes are posted on blackboard for review. All in all, he's a great professor because he is fair & informed.

Also, the bonus questions on the exams are always a a fun way to get extra credit & if you put effort into the course, you'll get the grade you deserve.

Mr. Demello made this class very enjoyable. I looked forward to coming to class and knew that I would learn something new every time. Days prior to a test we would do interactive activities to prepare us. I totally recommend him and wished he could teach all of my psychology classes to come!

Highly recommend! This was my favorite class this semester as I could always count on learning something new. Although a lot of it is lecture heavy, the material is interesting and there is a lot of interesting conversation involved. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities. The tests aren't hard as long as you enjoy the subject and listen.

Professor D is amazing ! He gives you so many chances to do good in his class! 10/10 I would take again! Two journals are due with notes and a paragraph on what you took away from the lecture. 3 tests, and they all have info from the first test ( the same questions ) so its possible to do well if you do your studying ! Such a nice man! He really wants you to do well in his class. If you come to class and write down the notes you will pass with an A. The test questions come directly from the notes.

I am so glad I had professor Demello for my first year taking psych. I enjoyed coming to class to learn more about the subject. I didn't do that good at the beginning of the year but then ended up get a 101 on my final! Before a test he had a little game where if we got the correct answer we could get extra points on the test.

He's a really good prof, I'm glad I took his class. You won't regret it, he's easy going

Professor DeMello is such a great person to learn from. He makes all of his lessons relatable and enjoyable. He is very open about what the tests will be about and there is only 3 tests. He also really wants you to do well and does TONS of opportunities to do extra credit towards your tests. I would recommend taking him 100%!!!!!

Professor Demello is one of the best teachers ive ever had. Psych is a tough subject in itself, but he always used real world scenarios and clear explanations while also keeping class interesting. He made sure we knew exactly what he expected from us, was open to answering questions and made class fun and enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Switched to Professor DeMello after a horrible experience with another psych professor. Best decision I made this semester. His lectures are insanely interesting and fun, and I actually enjoyed going to class. The workload is quite light and manageable, and he's a fair grader. This is an easy course, as long as you attend class and take notes.

Professor Demello was one of the best professors I have had at BSU. Truly cared about his students learning and made it relatable to real life experiences he has heard or seen. I took abnormal psychology with him and that was my favorite class to go to it always was interesting.

Easy A, allowed a few absences and will not decrease grade, wants students to pass and do well, one the best professors I have had. Highly recommend.

As a professor, he made sure that we understood the material and had geat ways of doing prep sessions for the tests in class that were innovative between a quiz tomove around the room and a chain of questions answered by different students each. The book he also had us read for an assignment was a great read and worth rereading just to read it.

DeMello made abnormal psych very enjoyable. I would definitely take his class again. I highly recommend taking him for abnormal he's the best. You will not regret it.

Amazing teacher, you will not be disappointed!

Professor DeMello was great. For a short amount of time, he taught us face-to-face and did great. His lectures were very informative and interesting. Due to COVID-19, we had to switch to online courses where he posted notes and simple assignments to complete. He also wrote a very good (cheap) book that you'll use in his course!

I had Professor DeMello for Abnormal Psych! He was very engaging with students and powerpoints were always well done and explained and made available for students to view after class! He creates study games before tests which was a huge help. Very intelligent and would 100% take him for every single psychology course if it was possible!

DeMello is a great professor and his lectures are really fun. He included fun ways to learn including study games that can give you extra credit on tests and a paper on his book which was interesting. Unfortunately my class time got cut short due to COVID but when I did have class I learned a great deal. His class is also not hard at all.

I definitely recommend taking him! He lets you know what's on the test and has interesting and engaging lectures. I personally enjoyed the jeopardy review game before a test because you got out of your seat and you could earn extra credit points for the test.

This was my last semester of my psyc degree, and I can say Prof. DeMello is the best psyc professor I have had here at BSU - without question. Not only is the material super interesting, but he uses real examples from his own encounters in the field to make it relatable and exciting. I highly recommend his class and him in general. Really good asynchronous professor!! He cares about his students and will do what he can to help you pass.

This was a very asynchronous course. Not too much of a workload. Two homework assignments every week and 2 major papers. Very simple class and was a nice guy!

He understands that we have a life outside of his class which is why: 3 tests, lowest dropped, replaced with second best score. I looked forward to class! Lectures were g8!

I was nervous to take this class but from day one DeMello made it very easy to not only understand the material, but also the requirements to do good in the class. Prof. Demello really makes things interesting with his lectures. He uses a lot of examples from his work life and overall makes it an interesting course. If you go to class and listen to the lectures you will do well on the exams. Prof. Demello hints at what you need to write down it was my first in-person exam in a long time and I would get A's.

I enjoyed this class. It was interesting & he was concise/straight to the point with lecture material. He posted the slides, but also told us what was necessary to write. Abnormal Psychology was such an interesting class. Prof Demello reads slides every class and lets you out when he's done. There are two 50 question in-person multiple choice exams and he drops the lowest grade. After class, he posts 5 quick questions to answer from lecture. He takes attendance every class so you have to go and take notes. Take him!

DaMello is the best prof at BSU! His class is super interesting and he always tries to relate the material back to his experience working with clients. I wish I could take him for more classes! If you get the chance, take abnormal psych with him!!!!!!!

Professor Demello is fantastic!!! Cannot recommend him enough for abnormal psych. His lectures are super interesting and he shares a lot of stories about his own clients. He's kind and the only book is a young adults book that he wrote and you have to diagnose the characters. It's a fun way to apply what you learn - which is a lot!!!

When it came to exams he gave us a study guide which was VERY helpful. After taking his class I decided to minor in Psychology! I recommend his course.

Hes a very good professor. Notes are really important and he gives in depth teaching. Doesnt go off topic and he knows what hes talking about. He does make the class enjoyable and not boring. No textbooks are necessary, he just has powerpoints. There are weekly questions due every fridays at 11:59.

Professor DeMello made Abnormal Psych such a fun class! He has weekly check in 5 question assignments to make sure you're taking notes and paying attention in class but they're great review tools and helpful grade boosters. His grading criteria is extremely clear. Definitely take him for this class if you can!!!

Professor DeMello is absolutely fantastic, you can tell he really cares about what he is teaching; as long as you show up, pay attention, and take notes, you will pass. He is not a harsh grader and is fair about grading and test scores, the tests themselves are not very difficult either. I wish that he was teaching more PSYC courses.

Professor DeMello is very nice and accepts late work. You just have to e-mail about it first and he'll most likely allow an extension! His work was very easy and I enjoyed learning the content. The class relies heavily on the textbook so buy it!!

I loved going to Professor DeMello's class every week. He gave a understandable semester outline and wanted to see students succeed. There are 5 comprehension questions posted on Blackboard after every class and 3 tests. He made the class interesting by relating his own experiences.

Professor DeMello is a great professor. Just powerpoints of each chapter you learn. He tells you what to highlight for test questions. 5 easy questions posted on Blackboard about the lecture and journal entries which are literally about how you related to the lesson. 3 exams but drops the lowest of the 3 and replaces it with the 2nd highest grade.

I love Professor DeMello. In class you take notes and he clearly tells you which are important and what will be on the tests. He gives homework questions and journal entries for each class but it is very quick and easy as long as you pay attention and take notes during class. He sets you up for success. I hope I am able to take his class again.

DeMello is very clear about the exams he gives and is super flexible. He is not the most personable professor you'll meet but he is always willing to help and gives really interesting lectures with multiple extra-credit opportunities throughout the semester. I definitely recommend!

(introductory psych) Notes & 5 question hw every class but so easy and simple. 3 exams total including final but the lowest of the three grades gets changed to the second lowest at the end. Easiest and nicest professor I highly recommend taking him. Class was easy to pass as long as you pay attention but I still feel like I learned so much from it.

He's a chill professor and an easy grader. He incorporates his experiences as a therapist into the lecture which makes it so much more enjoyable and practical.

Professor DeMello was my favorite teacher for my gen eds this past semester. He has informational slideshows and tells you what you need to know off of them instead of writing all of it down. His tests are really easy and gives you extra points if you take them early. I would definitely recommend and take him again!

I took Professor DeMello's PSYCH 100 last semester and loved his class. he is very understanding and does a lot of lectures, but he makes them fun. He is very informational; I love how he talks about cases he has worked on to help us better understand the topic. 10/10 Recommend his class.

I had Professor DeMello for a hybrid intro to psych class. Besides the 3 exams, everything is online but we met once a week to discuss the topic of each week which was very helpful if you need more support than whats normal for an asynch class. Attendance is important because you have to write a reflection of each class. Would 100% take again.

One of my favorite professors this year. Professor DeMello gives 5 question assignments after each lecture which follow along with the notes you take during class. There are 2 sets of journals and 3 paper tests (including the final). The tests are easy especially if you fill out the study guides. This was a fun intro course I loved it!

I encourage everyone to take a class with prof. Demello. He's the reason I'm switching my major to pyschology. He loves what he does and makes the class so interesting. There are two exams and a final with weekly chapter assignments. Also a daily journal entry. Nothing too hard if you apply yourself and attend lecture.

Mainly lectures but he found ways to make them interesting! His quizzes and tests were fairly easy and he gives you multiple opportunities to redeem yourself! Very chill and understanding, mindful, teacher.

Dr. DeMello was a great professor. All of his material was straight forward and easily accessible. It's available to students online in case you miss a day, but he lectures in class and adds a lot of detail/ examples to make it really easy to understand. His exams were really straight forward and we learned everything that was on it, no surprises!

I enjoyed taking this class! Professor's lectures are engaging as he includes real life examples for the disorders. The weekly assignments were easy to complete and with only 2 papers, the outside workload wasn't super heavy. The tests are in person, but if you show up to class you get all of the information you need and I felt I learned a lot.

10/10 this is my second semester with this professor, and I definitely recomend, He was very helpful. Gives plenty of opportunities to do good in the class. I really found his after class questions to be super helpful, ! wish more professors did that. I really enjoyed his assignment on his book dead scare, it's actually a really interesting read!

I really enjoyed this class it wasn't too difficult. You take three paper test which weren't to hard as long as you go to class and take notes. You have to read his book and do character assessment which also wasn't too hard. Overall I enjoyed prof DeMello

I highly recommend him.He provides lectures with important info and fun assignments related to the class He offers real knowledge from the psych field as he is a LMHC. show up to class, participate if you choose, and do the assignments. you will do well and gain a lot of knowledge from his class

Loved this class!!! Great professor's lectures were so interesting and educational. Make sure you study for the tests and exams, but I would retake this class again. Learned so much about myself and others.

You have assignments due after each class, but don't worry they're easy points to help your grade bc they're literally 5 questions. His tests are pretty straight forward as well he gives you the option of a MC or a fill in the blank test. There are 2 journal assignments but those are easy if you keep on top of them every day after class.
