by far the most interesting class I've had in a while.I actually looked forward to attending class & learning new material.His teaching style was very organized & consistant.His tests were very clear and if you studied from the powerpoints;you were in the clear. Demello made the class fun,interactive, involved &gave alot chances to get extra credit

This class was very interesting. The professor provided students with powerpoints and extra credit opportunities. The professors humor made students joy the class (being that it was a night class). The tests are based on what the professor goes over in class as well as specific questions from the book. This is one of my favorite professors by far!

Great class! Such a nice guy. Very good teacher. Explains everything to you that you need to know. Very helpful in answering questions. Tells you exactly what's going to be on the test and gives you three chances for extra credit for each test. Loved it the class.

Interesting class, DeMello uses powerpoints, videos, and real life examples to make students really understand material. Gives extra credit opportunities. He does make you read a novel outside of class, but its not too bad. Overall it's a great class to take.

AWESOME PROFESSOR!!!! When I signed up for the class I wasn't that interested in Psychology but I want to be a Psychology major! Easy class if you put the work in and he helps you out if you do! Fun assignments that help you learn the material as well as role-play and group work! Brings his experience to class too! Definitely would take him again!

Awesome professor, even better guy! he definitely cares about his students'grades. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and reviews for every test. It is easy but only if you make it easy. He teaches from experience in the field, and I hope he gets to teach more psych classes because I definitely want to take him again!

Take his class! Don't second guess it. May be an adjunct professor but he's better than some full time profs. Organized, posts notes on Ulearn, posts grades the day you took the test, funny, interactive, and enjoys what he does. If you do the work you'll be fine. Can't think of any negative feedback! Great way to end senior year :)

This is one of the best professors I have had the past 3 years that I've been here at JWU. Super clear assignments and always available for questions. Honestly one of the few teachers who actually cares about his students and isn't out to trap his students. Goes over quizzes and all the materials are in the PowerPoint. Textbook use isn't necessary. There's always a class activity so you won't be bored. And he is actually funny which is why it feels like class flies by.

Best Psyc class I've taken. DeMello has many interactive activities & makes the class interesting & fun. He give 3 multiple choice exams & 2 projects. If you attend class, participate & take good notes, you will love this class as much as I did.

This has been by far one of my favorite classes at JWU. He gives 3 multiple choice exams (between 50-70 questions) & 3 projects. While his class is not an easy A if you take good notes & do not miss class, you will be successful & learn A LOT. Everything that was done in his class was fun. I looked forward to going to his class. Highly recommend!

This professor is pretty decent took him for a second concentration. he's really decent just your standard psych nothing too much to say. Wrote a book and had us read it "dead scare" never required textbook told us we didn't need it. overall a really good professor

Let's face it intro to psych is not all that interesting. However, Professor DeMello was the highlight of the class. He uses power points and explains everything thoroughly. Plays games for extra credit and always tries to use examples from his experiences to help you understand. Would take any of his classes in a heartbeat!!

Very nice guy. His class is easy to pass as long as you paid attention in class. He doesn't make a big deal about not attending but you should, its a cool class. He grades pretty easy and lets you know ahead of time what is due and when. VERY easy projects. He gives the class a chance to earn extra points on every test so make sure you're there.

AMAZING teacher! I have taken him for multiple classes and every time he is enthusiastic about the material. He finds ways to make dry material fun and easier to learn through different games and jokes. I was never going to take this class, but when I found out Prof. DeMello was teaching, I had to. He makes the subjects really easy to learn about and plays lots of games in class for extra credit so you don't just sit and listen the whole time. The projects for your grade are actually very fun and interesting. Highly recommend for any Psych course

Had him for neuropharmacology and power points were very clear and understandable. He made it clear what you have to know for tests and if you didn't understand anything he answered any questions you have. Gives extra credit to help out as well. He was very funny and helpful, used a lot of his personal work experiences to help understand material.

Professor DeMello is great! I literally loved this class. If you come and take notes you will pass. The lectures are not boring because he ties in stories you will actually enjoy. He lets you out at least 30 minutes early every class. There are a TON of ways to get extra credit as long as you come to class. I would take him again in a heartbeat!

He makes the lectures understandable for all majors, not just psych/counseling. Gives study tips, games for extra credit, & pretty easy assignments. Tests are hard & he admits that, but you get a study guide & throughout the lectures he'll tell you what you need to know & what you don't. Attendance participation so go to class. He's very cool.

I loved this class. The curriculum was easy to understand and if you did not understand something, he would explain it, but only if you asked. Show up to class because it'll make the topics easy to understand and you don't want to be stuck reading long power points. He goes through things quickly, but efficiently.

I have not taken a class in about 4 years. I recently decided to go back for my master's to become an LMHC, and I needed to take abnormal psych. I LOVED this class. The professor is funny and his lectures are great, he makes the class fun and interesting. He offers a lot of extra credit, and his tests are fair. ps. he's nice on the eyes too

This class was so much fun and had a great time learning from Dave. He lectures but makes it exciting and includes funny stories about clients. The textbook is not used and he even says you do not need to purchase it but purchase his book. He is very nice and gives a lot of extra credit because his tests are very hard. This professor brings a great vibe to this class. He doesn't make the topics awkward and invites students to ask questions and comment. Lectures are every class but are easy to follow along with. Lots of papers were assigned for this course but overall it was easy.

Great teacher but has long exams. If you're a bad test-taker, it may not be easy but he provides extra credit for every exam! Including the final!! Wish he wasn't an adjunct so I could have had him more than just once.

Dr. Demello makes learning about sex as comfortable as someone could. He's funny and brings up great examples that pertain to the lectures. Reading isn't mandatory and he's a professor that breaks the reading down easy enough for you to not need the textbook. I recommend you to take him when possible!

If you feel uncomfortable taking Human Sexuality, he is the professor to take. He makes the class humorous and provides examples when necessary to offer a clearer understanding of certain material. Do not feel uncomfortable to participate, it only makes me the class better. Offers a lot of opportunities for extra credit to be added to your tests.

He's a pretty chill teacher. He has a main lecture and a PowerPoint to go with it, so the material is pretty easy to learn. His tests are really overwhelming at times, and kinda hard, but he gives hella extra credit.

I was actually nervous taking this course I didnt know what to expect. As the trimester went on I noticed it wasnt as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I would definitely take this professor again, he is really nice understanding easy grader and passionate about his job. I will be more than willing to take him again and hope I do!

Taking Human Sexuality was very interesting and I now know more about it than I ever did. The professor uses extra credit games that will be on your test. The book he had my class read was great and now Im into books like that! I would definitely take it again. I was more than comfortable with talking to him and the classmates about the topic.

He is a great teacher i recomnd this class but you have to work and I learned a lot the good thing I always talk about it to my friends every time i get out of the class its interesting and he brings awesome stories that you dont want to leave the class sometimes not every time though and many times he gets us out early

I was lucky enough to have him for Abnormal Psych and Human Sexuality and both classes were amazing. He gives great and to the point lectures. Before tests he does extra credit games which are fun. He wont tell you anything that isnt necessary and the tests are pretty easy if you follow in class with the PowerPoints. Highly recommend!

Hes honestly a great professor. He keeps a heavy topic at times really light and has the ability to make you feel comfortable. An all around great professor.

Great professor with an awesome sense of humor that he works into almost every lecture; which always finishes about an hour early! He does fun review games that he of course has to add humor to and all cost towards extra points to every test.

I took Human Sexuality with Professor DeMello as a free elective. He made class fun; his lectures were interesting and he used real life examples from his experience in the field to help us understand the material. We played study games for extra credit, overall it was an awesome class and I hope he becomes a full-time professor!

Professor Demello is a great! There are many opportunities for you to keep your grade up with all of the extra credit games played in class. His test are easy, only if you study all of the material but can be long. Overall its an easy class to pass!

I don't care for the professors I've had so far at JWU, but Professor Demello is the only one I would take the time to rate. His lectures were always great; I found myself sharing whatever story he told in class (which had to do with the course material) to whoever I saw after. I didn't just learn about ab psych- I learned a lot about myself too

I'm currently taking Human Sexuality with Professor DeMello and he's amazing! His exams are a little difficult but he tells you what is most important from each chapter during class. As long as you study, you'll do fine. He's super funny and a cool guy. Highly recommend taking a class with him!!!

I just finish taken Professor Demello for Human Sexuality and I thought he was great. All the lectures were interesting and engaging. The assignment werent your usual papers, they were creative and actually made you want to do them. Great at extra credit and made sure you knew the material with the study sessions.

He is a very fair professor. He gives a lot opportunities for you to pass even though his test are a bit heavy.

This was my first time with Professor DeMello, but I always heard great things! He exceeded my expectation and I enjoyed his class so much. Attendance not mandatory, but if you go you learn more. Tests were almost identical to study guides/study games. He was a cool & cared about what he was teaching and his students. Will take again if possible!

Professor DeMello taught a subject that can be uncomfortable for some (sexual psychology) and made it easy to understand. He was professional, informative and infused humor into his lectures. I would highly recommend.

He was great! Super easy class and his lectures were ALWAYS done like an hour early. Played review games that gave extra credit on tests and he's pretty funny! No homework ever really besides two papers. amazing class and professor

I've had many professors across multiple different courses and he was by far my favorite professor! Knew the material extremely well and is very effective in his teaching style. He incorporates games as well as extra credit. My favorite is that he would reiterate material so that we really learned it or made sure we knew it before we were tested.

Had him twice and loved his class. Funny and caring, great class overall. Do the work, and if you show up to class, he tells you exactly whats on the exam. Notes posted online, but if you show up he tells you what you need to know for the exam. Lots of extra credit games, just study material to prepare, it can skyrocket your grade! Easy A for sure.

Easily the best psych professor Ive ever had. He is a counseling psychologist and teaches for his side job which is awesome because he tells us about experiences hes had with clients. If you pay attention and/or study notes you should do great. 110% recommend

One of my fav professors at JWU! He lectures and everything on the lecture is discussed in detail and he tells you want to expect to see on his tests. Pay attention & you will do well on his tests, does extra credit study games in class which help you study for test while giving you extra points! Really funny and uses real like examples!

Test are easy as long as you read the notes from the PowerPoint and come to class to get notes to specifically focus on. Overall, hes a great professor and I would take him for all my classes if I could. You actually learn from him.

Professor DeMello is great!! He really makes the class less awkward in Human Sexuality. His study guides and games for exams help a lot!! When he mentions instances/ examples in his other job with clients, it helps with memorization in the subject. I wish he used more inclusive language for the LGBTQ community but other than that hes great!!!

Professional background, super effective at engaging the class, relates the content to everyday life... he's the real deal man 10/10

I have taken Professor DeMello a few times now and each time I have had amazing results. He offers hints during lectures of what will be on exams and provides fun review sessions. What he expects from you is very clear and as long as you show up to class and put in the work you will ace his class. Definitely recommend.

Professor is a couples counselor, in which he tells his students situations he has dealt with as a therapist, which is helpful and interesting! Overall great professor!
