He is a cool teacher and his lectures are very interesting. He shows a lot of videos. You have to do a presentation in front of the class but it's not hard. He gives about 6 homework assignments which require some time but are not that difficult.
He is easy as long as you do all the work. If you want to learn something, try to take another teacher. His teaching style is somewhat different than other teachers. Not really a hard grader. Kinda favors female students though.
Different than other 140 teachers. Watch A llllooottttttttttt of videos in the class and have about 7 homework assignments which some require excel, but they are not hard. Have to do a presentation but is also easy. Tests are m/c & short essay.

He will do whatever he can to help you. He has a sense of humor which, helps in a subject that is very boring. Don't wait to start the hw until right before it is done
His book sucks, but you need it to know how to do the hw assignments. He shows short videos in the beginning of each class session. Lectures are boring, but he's a funny guy at times. Midterms and final are curved and you can use cheat sheets for them.

Very boring teacher. Bring a laptop to this guys class. Just do the homework assignments and pay attention to the videos and you'll get a good grade.
People who think his HW are hard don't use their brain, period. Boring, some time. But he is funny and have a great personality. Use videos to explain OM, a dry subject. Lecutre, I think he can improve and need to improve. Overal, great teacher.

His exams don't relate to his book at all.Even though you read his book, you still won't get the exam. Class is boring and I didn't really learn anything from it. He talks throughout the whole class NON-STOP.
Unclear and boring lectures. His tests are really detailed and you would miss easy questions even if you read the book because you can't remember every details. However he curves so most will pass, mostly with B and C. HW are pretty challenging and fun

Do the HW! I did really good on the HW even though I have no idea how to do it. Denzler is a really amusing and really funny, however I leave each class not knowing what the hell just happened. The test are really hard.
he has stupid jokes and his lectures have nothing to do with his tests. just watch the videos, read the book and u'll pull off a C. You can cheat during tests and probably pull off a better grade than u would learning. Just do your homework and u'll pass
This guy has a passion for teaching which makes me like him. He is much more entertaining than many professors in business. Although he may be a smartass at times, he is a good guy with a very interactive lecture approach.

He's a nice guy. Do the HW and you'll do fine. His classes make no sense. It's the end of the semester and I still have no clue what the class is about. You should be able to get a B pretty easy.

Although a smart ass most of the time. Professor Denzlers lectures are fun,& they go by fast. He has a good mix of slides, videos,h/w,& midterms. He is very smart, & has a lot to share,but like I said his humor is sort of overwhelming. It is possible to get a good grade in his class if you try hard.

Funniest professor at SJSU because he isn't affraid to say whats on his mind! I actually looked forward to going to class because I wanted to see what he'd say next! HW is actually very easy. Tests are tricky, but he curves it. Take notes on videos and dont bother reading his book. Got an A.
Great teacher, very hard to get anything lower then C+. He curves the tests, so its very easy to get a high grade. It helps to watch the videos and look at the practice quizs. He is somewhat funny but isnt boring like other teachers. Take this class for an easy B- or try and get solid B or B+
He is a great teacher and has a lot of experience in the field which he shares. His tests are fair, but what counts is his curve which can boost you up from a D to a C. You don't really need his book unless you want to try for an A. I got a B in his class by doing all the work. Hes a nice guy!
am i the only one who hated this class? book is poorly written. doesnt get straight to the point and is extremely wordy. his lectures have no relation to the book that HE wrote or to the agenda that he puts up before class. exams are tricky and hard and you have to read it carefully.
Great professor, replies back to you e-mails early the next morning. Helpful and willing to work with you if you don't understand. Can get by with just skimming the book.
Denzler is a great teacher. Study a little bit before the tests and come to class to watch the video's (questions about them will be on the test) He should be back next semester and is a much better 140 prof than anyone else at SJSU.
Great guy -- can be confusing at times but you can still learn. Interesting and original, not to mention fun. Class is not that easy but I thought it was worth it. Don't be offended when he says things as they are!
He is very friendly and approachable. However, his lectures are boring and 90% of the time, you dont know material he is covering because most of it isnt about the class or material on the syllabus. His book is extremely wordy and hard to understand. Wouldnt take him unless I was forced to.
So boring!! He doesn't ever finish lecturing about the power points. Homework is impossible, but if you turn something in he'lll give you an ok grade for it. Lots of videos and the mid-terms are all about the videos and PP. Be a "player" cause you will get a better grade for doing nothing!!!
Funny teacher who tries to make the most out of a boring subject. Lectures from powerpoint slides are not really informative because he tells a lot of stories and current events. Homeworks are alright. Midterms and quizzes open notes. Can be either a player (particpate in class) or spectator, each with its own benefits.
Denzler is an ok teacher for bus140. the material is boring but he curves all exams. he's ok. i would recommend him compared to the other professor at state. he does not give you any case studies to do. i recommend being a "player" in his class. you get more points and all yohave to do it participate.
I suggest you be a "player" in this class because it gives you lots of different opportunities to earn your grade. As a player, you're required to attend all class meetings and do the hw. You don't have to get the right answer and you'll still get an A on the hw. Quizzes were wordy and difficult to understand (same goes for his exams).
easy class to pass, but he always blows you off if you email him with questions, so ask him in person. a lota videos shown in class pay attention to those. easy to pass, but you wont learn all the stuff you need to know about the subject. Not very clear, not very helpful speaking from the perspectives of a non OM major.
Great Professor! Class not too hard, very fair grading and possible to get an A. He shows videos related to the topic every class meeting and there will be questions on the videos. Hes very nice and easy to approach, and reach. Take him!
Be a player! It's definitely the way to go because you get to choose what your grade is based on. Make sure you do the concept maps because it's just a chapter outline and that's an easy 25%.
read the text and come to class! He likes when you participate in class. I highly recommend being the player since you get extra points in participating. Had the choice to either do the final exam or do the research paper. I did the research paper, and in case you don't do well on the paper, you can still do the final exam. So it's worth doing it!
this is supposed to be an easy class but, this men tries to make it hard. homeworks and exams are hella hard even though he curves it. He speaks unclear and people in the back can not hear him well. He makes fun of people most of the time. Dont ever take his class, i pass this class with a B, but i just heard a lot of complaint.
Denzler is a little eccentric and weird but his class is not the hardest.I suggest you be a player as you get 25% just for saying something.No final just 3 exams with the option to drop one.Homeworks are a bit hard but he goes thru them well.You can do a project if you like but it's optional.He also curves the grade so an A is possible.

Didn't learn anything, but got an A! I LOVE SCHOOL. This guy IS santa clause. His class is extremely easy! He makes fun of players. He says whatever he wants, even if it comes out bad but its fun to listen to him as long as your not getting picked on... stay on top of your grades/hws though because he is very disorganized.

Wow..where to begin? If you sat in on his class just once you might think he was a bit ****ed simply because of the way he talks about things. He shows a lot of videos, makes a lot of strange comments, and has a point of view on just about everything. Has a strange fascination with Wal-Mart as well. Very knowledgeable about the world, though.

This class is boring. Grading method is not clear and not fair, watch for your grade. Be a player instead of spectator as it will help your grade. Don't have to participate, just write something up after each midterm and it will be 20% of your grade.

His lectures are useless when it comes to helping you with the HW and Exams. Gives big curves on exams depending on how many smart people are attending your class. The book kind of helps with the HW, but exam is mostly Video questions that are just bs. The curve will be the only thing that could help you pass the class.
BE A PLAYER, and sit front & center so he notices you. Players only need take one midterm and no final. Has 8 homework assignments that are very difficult because he doesn't explain them. Boring, pointless lectures, I never read the book, it's a horrible book anyway (but might help with some homework). I got an A- by doing 6 homeworks & 1 midterm.
lectures are pointless, but have to attend if u are a "player". exams are way too hard, he wrote the book, so no matter how much u study it will be useless. most of the questions on the exams are very detailed from the damn videos he shows in class... like what city the video took place in (yes, im serious). take another prof if u have a choice.
This professor wrote his own textbook, it had plenty of spelling and grammer errors. He did not even know the back 3 rows of students existed. He did not follow the greensheet making it very hard to follow for quizes. I would rather have had a hard teacher than this one. He was a nice guy, but I did not learn anything the whole semester.
Prof. Denzler is awesome! His lectures are real-world orientated and full of WSJ examples. Homework is fairly easy; however, there's many assignments so stay on track. His tests could be a little bit surprising but since you can drop a few of them a bad grade here and there won't hurt you. One word of advice, be a "PLAYER" and speak up in class.

Mr. Denzler is a good teacher. I don't understand anything that he talked about but I managed to get a B- in his class without even trying. I, highly recommend him to everyone!
Arrogant, ****, and biased. Don't expect any help for the homework assignments. Take another teacher for Bus140! You will learn nothing in his class. On top of that, he's a SUPER hard grader. I put in a lot of work in his class, and only managed to pull a D, when my other classes i have received an A, A+, and a B. This guy is a joke.
Prof Denzler is hella funny....he has an awesome sense of humor. I NEVER studied for any exam OR the final and I got an A-....it's sooo easy. If you really want to learn about Opp Mgmt I suggest taking someone else. Make sure you select to be a 'player' in his class, you wont have to take the final and you dont really have to do anything extra!!
Avoid if you want to learn anything. Lectures were useless. At times diverges from topic. Uses Power Point slides; when presented to class, his lecture does not match the slides. Uses video clips frequently. Makes some crude but funny jokes. His book is not well written and lacks presentation, makes it a hard reading book.
Professor Denzler is a nice guy as long as you're open minded about his humor. His grading system allows you to get at least a B in the class. Do the homework assignments, listen to his lectures, and/or be a player by participating (worth 25% of grade). He is very easy going and kind. Remember, the effort you put in affects your grade.

Cake! Easiest class you can take in 140 and ez 2 earn an A. 7 ways to earn a grade with 4 outta 7 counting towards it. So, take 2 MT's, be a player, and do 5 outta 6 HW's & you're set! If u don't understand something re: HW, go to his office hours. Lecture's are sometimes vague. His course reader/book is needed 2 know the different people in it.
OMG!! he is sooo easy!! i didnt do anything and i get B without even trying. the only thing that bothered me is that i didnt know how to use excel to do his work. if u donno how to use excel, then dont take his class. otherwise!! take him!! Avoid Denzler... If you value your education, don't take his class. I walked away with an "A", but what a waste of time and money. I didn't get anything out of his class. Don't cheat your self out of an education, take someone else.
He is a good kind of crazy. Many real world examples. Best teacher for people with industry experience already. Teenagers will have a hard time keeping up. Read the book, especially the cases, and pay close attention in class. If you complain about his teaching, you probably were not paying attention. Hold on tight and you will get an A.
i cannot agree any of those who said his class is easy. the assignments are ridiculously confusing they are just plain gaming with #s. the exams cover materials to the stupidest details since he only talks about his life instead about oper. mamgt. so he pulls things from the book n his head at random that werent even emphasized.

Funny guy. Tests are ridiculous to the point, of asking what a picture was in the textbook (wtf?!?!) Easy to get a B in the class, if you can guess correct on his midterms than you will get an A in the course. HW is easy just look up online on how to solve them
Professor Denzler is a very likable guy, but most of the class time was used to discuss current events. His tests are totally unpredictable & hard. And the text is very hard to read because he wrote it. If you do have to take him become a PLAYER. He has different options on how people get graded in class and the players have the easiest assignments
This teacher is frustrating and rude. He spends 75% of the class off topic. His tests do not cover important objectives but rather random facts. Don't take his class if you value your time. Im an A student and got an A because I learned to take his BS tests but did not learn a thing.

I literally sat in his class texting the whole time and listened to him lecture about nothing pertaining to the course!Attendance is not mandatory unless you're a player and you'll need the book because all of the midterms are multiple choice. He provides the actual questions to study for and the final has nothing to do with the midterms so study!

Kind of pointless to take the class as you won't learn anything of value. Just be sure to go over the book carefully as well as his handouts. If you don't do well on tests, be a player and/or write a research paper for credit. I just took tests and walked out with an A-

The reviews are not exagerating. I was in class when he literally s@#$ his pants. He came 5 minutes late on midterm day AFTER evacuating his entire lunch and previous dinner all over his white slacks. Thats right, he came to class after crapping his pants just to give us the test. Unbelieveable.

Most of the reviews are correct. If you want to get a decent grade in the class, write the paper and be a player because the exams are bs. There are many questions that don't make sense, or relate to the material covered. He uses 1980's videos to teach sometimes and there are always questions on the videos on the test, so pay attention to those.

I dont understand why everyone is complaining about not learning in this class. I came to college to get a piece of paper and this guy made it very easy. Stop complaining, go learn on your own.
If you actually want to learn about Operations Management, I suggest taking another instructor. This guy wouldn't start the lecture until atleast a half hour after the class had started. But, if you're looking to take a class and get an easy pass, by all means, this is your guy
Prof. Denzler may have retired as of Fall 2010, but just in case he comes back here's what u have to know: 6 items count to your grade each 25% each, total is 150% (drops two lowest items) to total 100%. 3 Midterm T/F, 1 Final T/F, 12 pg group paper,& Participation journal (Being a Player). I did all of them to increase changes of getting an A. GL!

Worse Professor Ever! Tests are VERY hard even if you study. Can use laptop/phone/notes for tests but still impossible without his curve. Makes racially prejudice and perverse comments. He is inappropriate on every level. He doesn't know the correct answers to his own exams and will refuse to correct his mistakes. Worst teacher I ever had.
