Prof. Doran is a joy to be in class with! He's interesting and never boring. You can count on an easy A if you attend most every class, especially the review sessions. Tests are multiple choice. Be prepared for an easy ride!

Professor Doran is a great teacher! He is very knowledgable and passionate about the subject. He teaches by lecture using powerpoints and he gives study guides before each test. If you attend it regularly he may add points to your final at the end of the semester and may boost u up a letter grade. He was an alright teacher. The first few weeks I thought he was interesting but by the end of the semester I dreaded going to class. He can be very repetitive but does have a sense of humor. But like I said before, he's very repetitive with his jokes as well. Tests are easy. They're all multiple choice. Never opened the book.

He really wants his students to do well. He gives review sessions before every test and tells you exactly what will be on it. He's very approachable and has a good sense of humor. He stresses the important stuff but also tells you extra information just because it's interesting. If anyone needs an extra 2 hour course, take GEOG 2105 for sure.

Mr. Doran is a GREAT teacher, definitely choose him. Made A's on all my tests. Attendance not counted, but he does give bonus questions that will be on the test during class for a total of 10 extra points on the test. During his lectures he carefully points out "This will be on the test." or "This won't be on the test." Take his class.

Easy A If you go to class and take notes. He tells you exactly what he's going to put on his tests and he has two review sessions, one the class before, and another short one right before the test. 4 exams and he drops the lowest.

Prof Doran's world history class is an easy A. I recommend taking him. All test are online and open book/notes. you need the book for the region maps, rent it dont buy it or share with a friend. he does not take attendence and post all powerpoints on vista.

He is an excellent professor!!! I am international and I thought it would be tough to understand a GEO class but he made it easy. He doesn't call the roll but he gives bonus questions for everyone who attends class. His exams are online and if you take notes it will be very helpful. I would take him again if I could, he is great!

I absolutely love this professor. One of the best at KSU. He's understanding and very clear what he expects out of his students. If you are honest and respectful of him, he's the same with you. Do your work, get in done in a timely manner, and you will be fine. If you decide to be lazy and not show up, you get what you give.

Interesting class, great professor. You don't have to attend for an A, but I did because the class was great. If you do skip though, don't miss the 2 review days before the exams. Exams are multiple choice online; 1 hour for exam anytime in a 24 hour window. DON"T FORGET. He almost always ends class 20 minutes early. Only grades are the 4 exams.

This guy is a great professor. He receives easy ratings because he is such a good teacher. You will learn a lot in this class and Doran is a great guy. Test are fair and we had one project that was fairly graded and helpful.

Professor Doran is a AMAZING INSTRUCTOR. He lets you know exactly what is needed for you to get an A in his class. He answers any question you have and is passionate about Geography. This is my second time taking a class taught by him. If I could I'd take him again.

4 tests are only grades. Go to class & type everything he says, everything. His PowerPoints help but don't contain hardly any information for the take-home online tests. Professor is very amiable and shows great interest and excitement for the subject. Could be more challenging and could go deeper into the material. Many class members made little contribution and there was too much chatter during the lectures.

Take him. No tests are dropped so no final. He is amazing. He actually teaches what you need to know, so as long as you attend class and take notes of everything he says, you'll do well. He is a nice guy and tries to show movies at the end of each unit. Review days are really helpful. He is also interesting and there if you have any questions.

If ANYONE has a problem with Prof Doran, the problem lies with them, NOT him. I have been a student for many, MANY years, and he is one of the best professors I have ever had. Students who have issues with him, I assure you, have issues with ALL of their professors and are just plain bad students. TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES. You will not be sorry!

I took for GEOG 1101 and it was the easiest class ever. I never went to class, just downloaded the powerpoints for the four tests he assigns. The tests are ALL open notes and he cancels class the day of the test.

So there's four tests and those are your only grades. I would recommend going to the class, because he awards attendance by giving out test questions. You will pass if you don't go to class but you probably won't get an A even tho the test are online. Overall, TAKE THIS CLASS. Its simple and it has no outside work besides the four tests.

Y'all, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I'll admit that his power-points confused me a bit but that was not an issue since he reviews for the four OPEN NOTE/OPEN WEB/ ONLINE exams the class period before the exam and gives you ALL the info and even some answers! Easy class! But he mentioned that attendance may become mandatory since so many people skipped.

Take him!! 4 tests - all online (NO LOCKDOWN BROWSER!). For sure an easy A. Show up on review days, and he gives most of the answers. His PowerPoints are online, and cover everything on the tests! No reason to not take him!! However, he mentioned making class mandatory for next semester, so be aware of that.

Easy. EASY. Take him if you're looking for an easy A. 4 test, attendance not mandatory, review day the class before the test, tests online and out of class. I only went to review day and made 96, 92, 94, and a 60 (because i missed one exam and had to take the 10 question retake). So take him & don't forget to take the tests.

Good thing Clemson allowed him to teach World Regional Georgaphy over here because his class was so easy. Exams were pretty straightforward, and he devoted the class day before exams as review sessions where he basically told us what was on the exam. I don't know if he will teach at Clemson again, but take him if he does.

His lectures are literally just to get you ready for the exams. He tells you "I won't ask this on the exam" or "you need this for the exam", he posts all of his powerpoints. Very direct! No attendance is taken, and exams are online without a lockdown browser. He literally TELLS you to look stuff up on the exams.

There is no required attendance. He posts all of his lectures online. There are 4 tests but dont worry, all online. He gives you a day before the class date to take them no class on test dates. If you miss class, powerpoints are online. Also, the day before the test he has a review of what is going to be on it. He also gives bonus questions.

Like all of his reviews, GREAT professor! Intro to human geo is easy- show up to class and youll pass. Lectures online, accessible, gives free test questions if you show up! By far the best professor I have ever had at KSU! He genuinely cares about his students, as well as the material he is teaching, and wants everyone to succeed. 4 tests that are super simple especially if you go to the review class before the test. Such a great guy! Wish I could take him again.

The only grades in this class are 4 tests, but they are open note/book tests. No textbook required, so all notes are located on D2L and you can use them while testing. He is super nice and very easy to talk to if you are having a problem with anything.

Professor Doran is such a kind and caring man. His knowledge of the history of Europe is just astounding. If you want to get a good grade in an upper-level history class take him and take this class. He is there cause she truly wants all of his students to pass. 10/10 would recommend

Professor Doran is awesome! Attendance is not mandatory, so a lot of people skipped and would show up for the test review. I was in every single class, and took really good notes and got high A's on all four tests (only grades!) If i ever had a question he would answer it and make sure I understood it. I highly recommend taking him!

Professor Doran is super cool. He is so nice and really cares about his students and knows that material. I took it as a hybrid class and his tests and quizzes were online. He lectures directly about the test. Just show up to class and listen. Review the online quizzes and powerpoints on D2L before the test and you'll get an A.

Pretty simple class. He's a great professor; accessible out of class; clear about what exactly will be on the tests; 4 tests online that are pretty simple if you attend class, especially on review days. Would recommend him.

I'd taken two of his classes and if you are not a GEOG major and want a related study or elective, TAKE HIM! For both of his classes, test and quizzes were online and they do have a very short time limit on them, so i did feel rushed. But he gave us the class off after the superbowl. Such a bro! I wish I could take more of his classes for credit

Professor Doran is the sweetest professor ever, and 1113 was the easiest class I have ever taken. You have LS assignments (which are time-consuming but easy), a quiz, and a sketch due for each module every OTHER week. No final exam, everything is open note/Internet, and no lockdown browser.

This class was made to pass with an A. Nice professor and everything is online, smartbook assignments, chapter exams and every now and then some sketches. Definitely take this class.

Everything is a participation grade, even test. Nothing is actually graded. Seriously take this professor. He uses a point system, when you reach the grade you want you can just stop doing the work. Work and test due biweekly, sketches due every three weeks. Seriously the easiest A I have ever gotten. You will need the online text book.

There is a decent amount of work that you have to do but it's bi-weekly. It is not difficult although it takes quite long. If you take 4 or so hours in one day you can knock it out or you can do it little by little. I would take him though, pretty sure all grades for McGraw are completion.

Want an easy, free A? Then, here's where you will get it. The prof is very nice and extremely laid back. There is Smartbook assignments which are easy but kinda tedious with how much there is, labs that he usually just gives you the answers to, and then exams which are completion grades. Bi-weekly due dates. Only 20 out of like 200 people show up.

Easiest A you can get if you need the class for credits. If youre struggling Id advise to go to class and make sure he knows your face and name for a little boost (not guaranteed). There are few assignments which he basically gives answers to but it can be done at home. Overall hes very nice and adjusting to doing lectures so cut him some slack.

Professor Doran's class is what a lot of GenEd classes should be. He's very laid back and understands most students are simply in it for credit hours. The work is due biweekly and tests are all participation grades. It is 3 assignments, smartbook work, quiz, and lab. He cares about what he teaches and is very kind. Professor is nice and extremely laid back. Really great guy however the way his course is set up is a joke. Everything is online and can be done from home so everyone realizes there's no need to go to class and no one shows up after the first week. Professor Doran was a really good professor to have, especially if you are transferring from High school into college. He made college a lot more easier to deal with, since he is a very understanding professor. He also is very quick to answer back emails, and is very good communicator with the entire class. I would 100% take his class again.

Easiest class you will ever take. Everything is graded on completion, even the tests, do it and get a 100, or don't and get a 0. He also uses the point system which means when you reach the grade you want, you're done with the class and can stop doing the work. If you do the work, it's a guaranteed A.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! TAKE HIM! Best online class, easy easy A. Says textbook is reqd, but I haven't used it. He knows that this is a gen ed course so makes it super simple to do well. After the first month of class, all assignments were posted for the rest of the semester so you can finish at your own pace. Grades easy and quickly.

As someone with an anxiety disorder, this class is set up so you learn material without the fear and stress of failure. He cares about his students and has a great personality. Attendance is not mandatory but I would still almost always attend class because he makes class interesting and teaches exactly what needs to be taught. Thank you, Dave!

Every week he assigns an exam, workbook, and a quiz. the quiz he gives answers to is usually on Wednesdays but he will let you know when he does. Everythings is online for him and it's not hard at all. Take him, he's a chill teacher. It can get overwhelming at one point if you do everything last minute SO DON'T DO THAT!

Really teacher and a really easy A. He cares about his students and the only downside is probably the smartbook assignments.

All of the assignments are straight out of the book, you do not need to come to lectures ever. You can redo small assignments and quizzes unlimited times and the tests were auto 100s (not sure he realized this lol). I finished with a 100 in the class, it's a great GPA booster.

Really nice guy. Doesn't want to overload you with work. It is nearly impossible to get below an A+ in this class. Units are due every two weeks, so you have plenty of time to do them. You can work ahead and finish the class within the first week if you really wanted to. Take him if you want a stress-free class in your schedule!

I took his online 4 week summer course it consisted of 24 assignments overall and 1 opportunity for extra credit. Some of the assignments were a little time consuming but pretty easy overall. Loved this class would def take him again.

Great professor with an enjoyable Intro to Geography class! Attendance isn't mandatory, and all lecture notes are posted online. Grade is solely determined off 4 non-lockdown online exams. There's a textbook, but the lectures are enough to get high scores. If you have any trouble, attend his lectures - they spell everything out nicely!

Much respect towards Professor Dave, I honestly enjoy his classes even at 9am, to just be able to relax and understand the subject by just listening to him says a lot.

4 grades in the semester were all tests. He's a good professor, the class might be the easiest class you can take. The study guides basically have 90% of the answers to exams. Attendance is suggested, he adds things to the exam that were directly taken from a lecture, or about people that came in to speak in class about different programs at KSU.

Great teacher and class is super straightforward. Graded by 4 tests (All online: No Lockdown) and the study guide he gives has most of the answers. You do not have to show up but sometimes he does give some information that is not on the study guide that will be on the test. Would highly recommend to take him as many times as you can.

David Doran's lectures are interesting and don't really bore anyone. His tests are easy because there is no lockdown browser or webcam. He provides several extra credit opportunities for those who are in class. For those of us doing this for a prerequisite we want to not spend so much time working on it and in his class its informational and easy.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken. I took this over the summer as the 4-week online course. 5 quizzes, 3 discussions, and 3 exams. No lockdown browser or camera and all quizzes/tests have two attempts and the correct answers are shown after the first attempt. Discussions are graded leniently. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

It was a very easy class. I graded it based on exams and three fairly easy discussion posts. He gives feedback and responds to your discussion post, which I find nice since he engages with the class. I finished this course before the four-week period ended. This class is very hard to fail. Just take notes, and you should be prepared for the exam.

Great professor! I just took him this semester and it was the easiest class ever. Grades consist of four exams and he does make his own test questions but they're easily accessible on the PowerPoint for the open note exams. It's very hard not to get an A in this class.

just take his class!! easily my least stressful course so far. we had 4 graded tests and an optional extra credit assignment. he gives us the option to take practice tests and he goes over them in class, they're really helpful. he wants you to succeed and clearly enjoys what he teaches

His lectures are heavy, but they're interesting to hear. Attendance is not mandatory, he would give all students emails to let them know what is going on. Occasionally, he would repeat himself with the same content, but it doesn't side-track the lecture. Only 4 online exams. Overall, cool professor!

Took Professor Doran during summer of 2025. His syllabus is clear and the learning objectives are hard to miss. You don't necessary need a textbook. Class consisted of 5 quizzes 3 exams and 3 discussions. Class wasn't necessary hard it's more memorization based than critical thinking. Professor Dorran gives weekly email updates and cares alot.

His class is very informational and easy if you show up to class. A little bit quiz heavy but they are not difficult and actually helped my grade a lot.
