This prof is excellent. I took him for 1101 and 1102, so did my sister! Does give a lot of work, but its definitely worth takin him. You must be on top of assignments and papers to get a good grade. I got an A and a B. No kidding!! If I could I would take him again!!

Taking Duncan's course prepared me for higher levels of college English courses. The workload can be very strenous, but it is well worth it in the long run. I admired how he took a personal interest in students and in helping proofread papers. I'd take him all over again if I could.

This is the professor to take if you want a fun easy class. Some people say he is hard but if you try somebody else you will change your mind. I got a 100% A in the class and I am loving it.

Great professor, I love him. He is very funny and interesting. The class as a whole is pretty straight forward. But he is very picky and you must do things his way or ELSE! But besides that he is a really cool guy and know his material quite well. I had him for ENC1101 and 1102, personally I wish all teachers could teacher as well as him. Great!!!!

Awsome teacher... can seem kind of hard but as long as u keep up with your work its easy. Learned alot from his class...more than just english.. made me a better student.Definatly recomend taking him.

I was very surprised at the reviews! I took his class and got an A and B. I thought he was very good. However there is method to his maddness. But he is very funny and very nice. He will not baby you, he treats you like an adult, no excuses! I would definitely take him again, you really make you learn and make your writing skills better. Trust Me!

He's a great teacher, but I dropped his class because I don't understand the emotional change he wants us to experience through writing. If you're more of a math person, take a different teacher. BUT! ...I learned so much from him while I was there that I aced this class the second time around. Good guy.

I like Professor Duncan. He is a very nice person but you cannot expect him to hand you everything. Too many people want everything handed to them and do not want to grow up and realize that they are in college. The class is not easy but if you listen to what he wants you will do well. He is VERY good at what his doing. He knows his material and does not fool around. He is strict, but helps the students make it, by encouraging them and guide them. Before taking the class, I was not interested, because I heard that he doesn't play. But after i took the class, I recommended my friends to take him as an instructor for Humanities.

I really liked this professor. We're in college to learn, not whine. I like how he is serious about everyone doing their part to earn their grade and that he doesn't put up with anyone's bull. I did look over the other reviews and they sound like others who want to slide through college. I liked him so much I'm taking another one of his classes!

I am really suprised about all the negative comments. Duncan is a really GOOD teacher. I have him on Saturday from 11 to 445. So imagine if he can make that class fun. You laugh and you learn. Go figure a Good teacher at PBCC. If you want the A's just do as he say. He lays everything out explains everything thoroughly.

Those complaning are just the slackers that didn't make the effort. I took his express class he's a great teacher. As for the claims that he wont answer questions. Thats correct after explaining and then explaining again even possibly a 3rd time and a students ask something that he just covered. Nah he wont waste his time. Pay attention.That simple

I love this professor. I just took Bible as Literature class with him and I loved it. He does assign a lot of HMK and is strict. You must show up on time and 0 abscent. He is an inspiration LOVE HIM SOOO MUCH!

Easy class. "here is what I want, this is how I want it done". Just follow it, you will get an A. Had fun also. Sometimes it might look like he is lost, so just do what you have to do, I got an A just following his instructions, not really hard work...

Prof Duncan is THE BEST!He is a professional & clearly goes above & beyond the teaching expectations of PBCC. I learned SO MUCH because of his guidance & his teaching style. He's VERY FUNNY. Gives alot of work & loves what he does. I wish I had professors like him 4 the rest of my education career.MUST BRING YR BOOK!

Well I took prof. Duncan for AML 2600 and at first I was going to drop the course, not because of him but I just all out thought the class was going to be hard. I'm glad I stayed in the class though because I really learned alot and he turned out to be a good guy. Just do the work the way he wants it and you will survive.

Prof. Duncan is very straight forward - be a good student (be on time and be there every time, turn in your papers written to his specifications, and be curteous) and he will be the best teacher you could want. He has a temper and can be a little moody at times, but he is passionate about what he does and will share that with you if you want.

Prof. Duncan was my favorite teacher ever! It was an easy class, even though you to do a lot of work. He was so funny and made class fun!!! All you have to do is show up and do your work and you wont get anything less than a C. I definitely prefer him as a teacher.

Duncan is very organized and structured. If you do not do something the way he wants it, he will not hesitate to give you an F. That said, he is a nice guy, his class is fun, and he will teach you things that will help you throughout your academic career and beyond. Not an easy A by any means, but if you put forth the effort, you will do fine.

Very nice, But difficult. It's not hard to pass if you do ALL of your work. Just do what he asks even though it is a LOT of work to be done. It all benefits you for the future. No tests, final was a take home. Just one big research paper that he helps you get through step by step. Do not miss class or you will miss something important.

Great Professor. He is a professor that does not have time for nonsense. He really helped my to enjoy the literature. He's a bit rough around the edges, but overall a great professor. There is a bit of work in the class, but it's a gordon rule literature class, so.... you should have expected that. His method's of teaching are extremly helpful.

Professor Duncan is a misunderstood person and not everyone is strong enough to handle him. Fortunately, I was able to read between the lines and learned that he really is a great teacher and he's hard on his students (and sometimes mean) for their own good. If you can't handle a strong personality and constructive criticism, grow up.

He wants it his way. If you do what he says and turn the papers in on time you will do good. i recieved an A in the class, it was because i did all the hw and turned it in on time. He isnt the best teacher and sometimes hard to get along with, and selfish. Bur if you Listen to him and do the work and you can get an A like i did.

He IS definitely a VERY strict prof but it is done with love. He likes it his way or no way. Do the work how he wants it, listen to him, be in every class (and not late) and you will get an A. I can honestly say he is my favorite prof ever. He got me to manage my time because he does give many assignments (no tests).I would recommend him to anyone.

One of personal favorite professors, despite being one of my most challenging thus far at PBSC, was a six week course. Based on the comments below, people didn't take the class seriously or was apathetic about their writing skills and expecting something "easy". Duncan is a very heartfelt about writing and his expectations are high with his student

Professor Duncan is the BEST professor I have had. The low ratings are from students who wished to be babied. Follow directions and you will get no lower than a B. I am in high school and I EARNED an A+ so it is possible. If you wished to be educated than take his class but if you want an easy A than you should probably go back to pre-school. -OLS

Don't take David if you are lazy. He doesn't like it when students do nothing in class, he wants you to be active, taking notes, and listening. He is not an easy teacher, he will teach you a lot, but just don?t ask him too many questions. I took him for LIT1030, if you not a good writer like me, make sure he is the only writing class you take.

Professor Duncan requires a lot of work but if the student completes all the work and makes an effort, an A is quite possible. Professor Duncan makes the class enjoyable and he promotes student interactions with each other. I would definitely take Professor Duncan again!

If you don't do it his way, you won't get that A!! His clasess are challenging but it is not impossible as long as you do all of his work and you do it properly.

Prof. Duncan is a GREAT teacher if you do the work. He prepares you togo to a University where they will not hold your hand. Do the work in his class his way you get an A, do it your way get a C. I took this class 2 semesters ago and was nervous to because of all the negative comments on here but he is a great professor. He wants things done HIS way. If you're needy, undisciplined and have a hard time following instructions don't take his class. I got an "A" and didn't have to suck up to get it.

I took professor Duncan for 3 different classes. Although, he is not a professor for the faint at heart, he is very consistent and fair. I suggest 1. Read the syllabus before day one of the class.2.Write as much information as you can when he explains something.3 Follow directions and 4. DO YOUR WORk,

Follow instructions carefully by listening and writing it down, then do the work and I mean DO THE WORK!, You can make an A in this class because of his fairness! Don't forget to listen carefully and always make it to class and on time. I truly wish I could take professor Duncan for another class!!!

I loved Professor Duncan. He is a very hard teacher, and you have to do the work while there, but you learn a lot. He is also full of life and tells a lot of jokes, and he is by far the best teacher ever. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU HAVE A HABIT OF SLACKING OFF

I took Professor Duncan for Bible as Lit. VERY interesting subject and he teaches it well because he is passionate about it. You don't have to be Christian to take this class, but it helps. Duncan is strict. DON'T be late and DON'T forget your books/assignments. Yes, he's hard but he teaches you stuff you will USE!!! You learn about yourself, too!

Professor Duncan truly is a great teacher. Yes, he gives a lot of work, yes, he expects (well, demands) the absolute best out of his students, however his intentions are purely to help you later in life. If you do exactly what he wants and how he wants it you will get an A. It is finally a real college class. Work hard and you'll succeed. I did.

If you're looking for an easy A do not take him. He's a great professor, he gives you knowledge useful outside of the classroom. A lot of work but in the end it's worth it. I'm taking him for Bible as Lit in fall.

You MUST do your work. I took THREE classes with him my 1st semester of college. Eng 1, 2 & Amer Lit. All 3 were express courses and i received all B's. YES, he will put you out if you're not doing what you're suppose to & if you dont have a book, but that's college. Work hard, attend class, & be respectful, not that hard to do. GREAT professor!!!

Professor Duncan is the best Professor I have ever taken. He wants to give you the skills to write your own paper or even a book. He takes students out of their comfort zones so you will be ready for it when you have a real career. All he asks is that you attend class, follow instructions and try, its not that hard really. Great teacher!

If you're looking for an easy A, Duncan is not the teacher for you. You MUST follow all of his instructions, word for word. He assigns an almost unmanageable amount of work and will insult students to their face if they do it wrong in any way. He assigns tedious busy-work. If you do everything his way, you will do good, if not, he will fail you.

Professor Duncan wants you to succeed, but will give you the resources to do everything correct. Also, he has no time for people to play around and he will say that on day one as well.

This class takes a lot of time and reading to make the grade. Professor Duncan is a great teacher and just wants the best for his students...#1 advice for this class....DONT SLACK OFF!! you only hurt yourself and you grade will reflect it.

Professor Duncan is great. If you like organization then this is your class. Do not take this class if you know you're a procrastinator and slack off. He likes those who do their work HIS way , and is blunt a little rude with those who do not follow HIS way. It's is not difficult but it is a lot of work. He is amazing. Always laughing in class!

This course was fun. Learning the bible together in an academic setting was why I picked it. Even when Professor Duncan had to "thresh the wheat to seperate the chaff" it was funny. Several times he tossed the class high into the air. The good students dropped back into the winnowing basket and the slackers blew away on the breeze. Ha, ha, haaaaa!

Excellent no-nonsense professor. You will work like a dog in this class, be on time, and be prepared. You will not be babied in this class. Time to grow up. As a veteran of the US Army I found Professor Duncan to be professional and strict. This is a GOOD thing.

Professor Duncan is awesome. Yes he is strict in the way he teaches, but this is how teachers should be. Students have grown accustomed to slacking off and dozing-off in class. Duncan definitely keeps you on your toes, and I thank him for that.

This class will make you a better student, if you can make It through. Most students dropped on the first few days due to his strict and pretty aggressive nature, to use clean words. Duncan is a good teacher, in the exact definition of the term, but he's not going to be nice to you. You mostly learn how to be a good student, not so much literature.

I learned a lot from professor Duncan. You have to be very patient with him, but overall I learned plenty from the professor. Yes he is tough, yes he is confusing, and yes he is hard. But honestly if you cannot pay attention and talk to your classmates about what to turn in, then you are not working hard enough. Responsibility is a must.

Professor Duncan gets a bad rap for being a tough professor but, he's one of the few you'll actually learn anything from. He's a tough grader but you'll be prepared for all the courses that follow.

Professor Duncan is by far one of the most influential teachers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He connects with his students on more than a scholastic level, but personally with each and everyone of us. I owe this man for what he has done for me.

He's tough. His style is militant. Be there on time, or don't come, & give him precisely what he wants to the letter. You either whip yourself into shape, or sink here. I got an A in one class, & a B in another (I didn't decorate my power point presentation). If you're a lax student you won't survive. I enjoyed him!

I can understand some of the negative feedback for Prof Duncan, but honestly I enjoyed his classes. I took ENC1102 and LIT1000. He wants things done his way and if you do it and follow his instructions you'll be fine. He's old school and very dominant yet easy going at the same time.

People complain about Duncan being too strict and rude, but he just knows what he is doing and loves what he does. If you attend all his classes and just do what he asks you will have no problem passing his class. I currently have a B+ in his class now. If you can't handle a teacher who is on top of you and your grades, he is not for you

Greatest professor you will ever meet! If you are lazy you will be challenged to do great or you may not do well. You have to do you work in his class and do it the exact way it was assigned. I know you may see all bad reviews of him but that's only because those people want to stay average. This professor can help you become an A student. Fear not

Professor Duncan was difficult, sure, but his method of teaching is designed to craft his students into advanced, focused, and more academically responsible writers. So long as you pay attention and abide by his EXACT instructions, he will respect you. Keep unnecessary comments and inappropriate remarks to yourself. And NO CELL PHONES!

Professor Duncan is a good teacher. If grades were not a priority, I would say that he is a great teacher. However, Duncan does single students out in class and getting an A is nearly impossible.
