Overall, I do not have any problems with professor Dwork. He is a very passionate Math teacher and seems like a really cool guy! Dwork does not give you a lot of homework but tries to make sure you understand the material he teachers. My only con about him are his tests. The exam reviews are not very helpful and the tests are pretty difficult.

Professor Dwork is an awesome calculus teacher. He explains things extremely well and you really understand everything he's teaching! You are given a week to do each homework assignment and he will answer any questions the day after you do them. Calc is a hard subject but Professor Dwork makes it enjoyable!

I've had few professors I can truly say were great teachers, but he is a great teacher. He is able to breakdown the confusing and harder material to ways the students can understand it. He is always there for the students and willing to go the extra mile so you can make sense of the work.

He KNOW'S what he's talking about, therefore he is able to teach in a way that makes things easier to understand. The homework is important, make sure to at least work on it before the next class so you can be ready with questions. The online version of the textbook is way better, we hardly use the physical one in class.

Mr. Dwork is a very helpful teacher. He is so hilarious and always makes jokes in class. I strongly recommend this class to you. He would go over homework and over any problem until you understand. Tests are pretty hard but you can be prepared if you do your homework and do the book problems at the back.

The only issues I've had is that there is no good study guide for his tests. He expects you to read the book and go back over the notes and homework multiple times. Besides practically failing this class (currently still in the class), Mr. Dwork himself is a good teacher. PROS: Helps whenever you ask for it, he gives you countless attempts on the homework, he keeps you attentive with his loud upbeat voice. CONS: It is a really frikken hard class. The MAT218 class is demanding, but he does a good job teaching the subject. Just make sure to attend every class & do the homework.

Really good teacher. While he is not easy, he explains things very clearly that if you are prepared to put in time out of class, you will do good on the tests. He is also very quick at responding which is nice if you are stuck on a problem.

This is the 3rd time I have taken professor Dwork and he really is a great teacher. Things can get a little crammed at the end of the semester because he makes sure you understand the material. If you asks you a question he responds quickly and makes sure you don't feel bad for asking questions.

He really helps you understand a difficult concept, he teaches so well that it makes understanding math easy. Im not saying that his class is easy, because with any good professor they actually want you to learn and not just earn an easy A, but he makes the subject learnable. He genuinely cares about his students and isnt there just for a paycheck.

Able to print notes, sometimes not till the day of. his study guides are somewhat like his tests but you have to go through your notes, hw assignments, online practice. I originally failed my first MAT 213 class, so being in this class is a breathe of fresh air. He really takes the time to break down the problems and help you figure out why youre doing the problem in the first place. He also makes sure that everyone understands the concept before moving on to the next subject. Class has been great so far.

Its a tough class and it seems like he enjoys teaching it. If you are one of those that understand things in class, then go home and realize its not as easy as it looks, he will have you take a pic of your work and email him and he will respond with a video helping you to do your problem. The course can be very challenging at times, but Prof. Dwork does an excellent explaining all the key concepts and how they apply in and outside of class. I found him to be very helpful and knowledgeable on the course material. He also was helpful in building future math course schedules for the school that apply to your major.

This is the first math course I have taken in college in which I have fully understood the material. Professor Dwork's notes and lectures make the content clear, and the online program used in the course allows for useful practice and thorough follow-up.

This is Calculus. It is not going to be easy. This teacher is pretty good with teaching the material and always tries to make sure all the students understand. If anyone says he is a horrible teacher because "he does not teach right", then it was the student's fault for not asking questions or explaining the issue of the misunderstanding to him.

Calculus generally doesn't come easy to most but Dwork does a pretty good job at helping you through it. There is weekly homework but there are plenty of different ways given to teach you each lesson and chapter. I appreciated the videos given for each homework question. It helped you understand how to do each problem (if you got stuck).

I'm not very good at math, but I worked my butt off in the class and got a C. He really is a teacher that cares. He definitely knows what he is teaching. He is extremely helpful and really does go out of his way for you. The only thing I would critique him on is not doing enough examples so if you're that type of math student just pay attention.

Professor Dwork was amazing. Calculus is hard. No way around that but he explains it in the best way he can and is always willing to help you after class and during office hours. Don't be afraid to ask for help. He helps you prepare for tests and you have a pretty good idea of what will be on them but they're not easy.

He is a very good teacher in class and will explain concepts to you more in depth if you ask or go see him. However, the example problems and homework problems are a lot easier than test questions. The tests are very hard. You have to know the intricate details of each concept which sort of takes away from learning the overall main concept.

Mr. Dwork is a great teacher, his response time is very good for an online class. He'll create an extra video for you to explain where you are going wrong or need additional help. I took his online class for Brief Calc (MAT 210) and business analysis (MAT 217). The only complaint I have is the time it takes to get grades back for Important tests.

He lets us know his office hours, as well as if he won't make it to class or to his office through email, allowing every student to be informed.

Prof. Dwork has a great sense of humor as he explains tough concepts which makes them much easier to grasp. Very helpful way of teaching Calculus as some ideas are hard to digest at first. David Dwork is an excellent professor who cares about you. My favorite thing about Dwork is that he told us the different applications for engineering when we would move on to another topic/unit and or stumble upon a problem. He makes calculus run smooth and is patient , but do not slack off. Do the homework!!!

I really liked his class, get ready for "dad jokes". I found myself putting a lot of time outside of class studying (I've never been good at math). He uses MATHAS, so no $$ a texbook. Each lecture is online with notes/videos so if you miss a class you can catch up easily. He's very fair with his grading and understands life exists outside of class!

He's a very organized teacher, everything is online and easy to access. Notes are printable and very helpful. Calculus is a difficult subject but he is easy to talk to and I wasn't afraid to ask for help. I recommend him for any math class, Dwork knows his subjects and knows how to teach it well.

Brief Calc is no easy math class. I went to tutoring for almost all my homework because it was difficult for me when math normally comes easy. However, Professor Dwork is super helpful with giving unlimited hw attempts and the option of late passes. Grades very fair. Overall good experience, but this class takes effort and is no easy A.

Awesome teacher, I just wasn't a huge fan of his teaching style. I'm a visual learner and he does a lot of head math. Other than that awesome teacher.

You have to spend 8hrs weekly on this class. Take it with a friend and always finished the homework before the next class as it is your best shot for asking questions for the problems. The tutoring centers are almost no help for this as out of six math tutors I worked with only two were actually helpful. Also the class outline is a bit sketch.

This is a tough class but he made it really easy to understated and enjoyable. It is calculus so you have to you homework to pass but other than that its pretty simple. Also the way he does his test are really good.

It was a great experience taking MAT220 with him, He is very laid back and cares for his students. Be prepared to spend lots of time drilling your self with problems. Ask him anything he will answer!!

Calculus is very difficult. Professor Dwork is a very good professor in the sense that he is willing to answer your questions, Presents the material clearly, and is easy to reach outside of class. He posts the notes from class online, but you definitely do NOT want to skip class.

This class definitely makes you work for your grade. If you have any questions ask them and his office hours are great to go in and get extra help on a problem or if you need a one to one review session go to his office hours. Make time to sit down and study for the exam because those are difficult too.

Awesome teacher if you have trouble understanding math at this level. It's a difficult course but he makes understanding the basics easy. Very helpful with questions. If you think you can skate by without the work, think again. The good news is, partial credit is given for all work shown, even if it's wrong.

He makes sure that everyone is at a basic understanding of what he is teaching before he moves on to the next part of a lesson. He's very easy going and its a fun class to be in, which is saying a lot about a 2 & 1/2 hour calculus class.

Dwork was one of my favorite professors - he made learning math fun and interesting. He always provided real life applications for the material we were learning so you'd contextually understand the lesson. He was fun, always had new things to say about science and math, and really cared for his students success. I highly recommend this professor!

You cannot mess up even a little bit on the competencies you need to be almost perfect in everything you do on the test. The competencies get harder if you do not pass on the first time so you need to really study on the competencies that you were close to getting but still need to study.

He has a great testing method that allows you multiple chances to attempt the same material. Be prepared to commit to many hours of studying. Professor Dwork is a very rare teacher to find, he talks very little about his self but just enough to make you comfortable with him, he focuses on getting students to understand the material by giving detailed explanations and examples, but if it is not clicking with a student he finds out where you got stuck at and then rewords it better.

Dwork is actually a pretty great teacher! He is kind of homework heavy, but he does everything that he can to make sure that you understand the concept. If you're taking 220, that's the hard part. Has interactive notes that you can look back on and makes you get into groups each week to work on challenge problems. I would take him again if I could.

By far the best teacher, and best MATH teacher I've ever come across. Honors is exactly regular and not any harder. Only difference is a weekly 1 hour study group. The competency system is very hard but it's doable for anyone- as long as you take Dwork's help. Theres 2 classes before hw is due. DO THE HW BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS so you can ask q's!!!

However, Professor Dwork is the most willing teacher I've yet to have. He is incredibly knowledgable and is willing to help you with whatever it is you don't understand. This was by far my most favorite math class ever. Professor Dwork is fun, engaging, and easy to communicate with. Having takes the class online, I had doubts that I'd be able to understand the material as I was supposed to, but to my surprise, the videos and homework were designed to learn as much as possible, considering that I wasn't in class.

You can tell he really cares about his students and their learning. The class isn't the easiest, but with practice problems and a little bit of studying you'll do fine. Dwork requires you to actually know the material thoroughly for the test, but the material covered in this class is more applicable to a business major than others I've taken.

He does not require lots of homework other than a fundamental concept of each section. However, be well prepared for the midterm and the final exams as they are much more difficult than other tests

Dwork is an amazing instructor. You can tell that he cares about his students and enjoys teaching the material. He's great at his job! You will need to make sure you know the material before you take your tests. For my class, he did not give practice problems, or allow any notes during the tests, but he give you a good idea on what to expect.

I've had him before in person and did this past semester online. He's awesome in person but online definitely requires work. Make sure you submit your notes and make time for the video lectures and homework. He's very good about office hours and really enjoys what he teaches.

Professor Dwork is a great teacher even though the material is a bit difficult. He really tries to help each o his students any time they have any questions.

If you struggle with math, I don't recommend taking this online class. It is on you too keep up and stay on top of things. And if you have a hard time staying motivated I highly recommend taking the actual class and going in for lectures.

He puts a lot of work into his class through making videos and having decent office hours. His class does require work, but it is a 5 credit Calculus course so it is expected. I personally enjoyed his class and feel like I am more confident moving forward in my study of mathematics. You also get a teacher that does have a sense of humor.

Can't speak for the other Calc teachers, but he is one I wouldn't mind too much to have again if I had to take another math class. Make sure to get at least 12 competencies in the class if you want a B with high homework and quiz grades. The competencies give a better chance of passing.

Professor Dwork uses objective based testing, so if you like this style he's a great choice. While attendance isn't mandatory, it does make a difference. Also, if you have the grade you want in the class, you don't need to take the final. It is one more chance to get more objectives completed.

This is my second class with Professor Dwork. He is helpful and responds to your questions quickly. He has a funny personality in his online lecture videos which you don't find a lot in online classes. I highly recommend him!

Dwork gave many opportunities for you to learn and understand the material & was always quick to respond to hmwk questions. He has a high grading percentage on the midterm & final so you should really study for those but he grades it with a curve which helps! If you do all of the homework and do decent on the tests, you're bound to pass the class.

Good Prof, makes you work. Videos and notes, as well as two homework sections due each week. You'll spend a lot of time on this class. Prof. Dwork is very nice though, and loves to answer your questions with an e-mail or a video to explain a concept/problem.

Professor Dwork is a great teacher. I took him online and he communicated with me very well, a lot more than other online professors. He posted announcements every week to keep us on track and provided printable notes to do for credit. He provided videos of him going through the notes and doing every problem. Would highly recommend.

Tough class, good professor. You need to do homework and study to do well as you would any 200 level class.

It's a difficult class, but the teacher makes it easy, has many videos where he clearly explains the topics, and if u have a question, he sends you a video specifically about your question.. I would personally take back any other class with this instructor, Dwork is a person who cares that you learn and pass the class.. I recommend you study hard.

Dwork is a great professor, the material is very challenging. tests are competencies based meaning that for every new section/material that is what you are tested on and you have multiple tries to pass them, so you won't know your true grade till the final. But they also get harder and harder with each new test. Study at least 12 hours a week

Mr. Dwork really worked with me when I was having a hard time in this class. I attended office hours often and he was always doing his best to help. Two things: do the homework, and study outside of class multiple nights a week, every week (use the book!). Also attend office hours if you can. The class isn't easy but his teaching is great.

Professor David Dwork is very fair, responsible, enthusiastic, very fast. He explain very clear, answer e-mail always in time. I would recommend to take Professor Dwork class, it is really not so hard, very organized class, helpful.

Dwork gives great resources and is always available to contact for help. He makes the textbook available for free so no extra fees! My class was online so about 60% of my grade was based on the midterm/final. Do your homework and you should know everything for the tests.

Awesome professor. Helps when needed, inside and outside of class, and allows you to reach an answer the way you want to, doesn't make everyone go the same path. Super nice and has a great teaching style.

Take this class with this professor! He cares about his students and is there for you at all times. I failed calculus twice and finally passed on my third try. Ive never been good at math at all and this prof helped me through it! I major in psychology & this level of math is required for ASU :( but i finally did it with the help of this prof!

I was nervous going into this class, but he made it do able. He wants you to succeeded so he will do whatever it takes, even if that means making a video for you on a specific problem on the homework at 4 in the morning. He makes sure the content for tests is covered so that there are no surprises .

Mr Dwork is really awesome! Loves to joke around in class, but gets his point across. Defiantly made Calculus fun!

I tend to steer clear of online classes, especially math, however Professor Dwork was super helpful throughout the class. I could send him pictures of a troubling problem and he would actually make a youtube video going over what I did wrong and how to do it. He is also an extremely fair grader, I would highly recommend taking his class.

Great professor. I noticed the people who struggled in this class are people who don't care enough to do the homework or study for tests. People who care about doing well will pass the class. It's that simple. This class will challenge you, it isn't one of those 'show up and get an A' classes. You must try. That being said, you can definitely pass.

Professor Dwork was incredible. He's super nice and he really cares about his students. Be wary though: You get graded via competencies. Your tests are objective based, meaning you have to get at least 80% to pass one and there are 16 objectives. Not all of them even have 5 questions, so on most of them, you'll have to get 100% to pass.

He is clearly very committed to his classes and knowledgeable in his area (math). I took this course online during the summer so I didnt have any direct exposure to him. You watch videos and do homework. Communication is by email/messaging. He responds promptly but still I found it difficult. He is strict but fair. Good guy, hard subject.

Professor Dwork was pretty rad ngl. I don't know how homework heavy is class is in real life but for his online class I probably spent somewhere around seven hours a week give or take working on notes, homework, studying, etc. This class isn't insanely hard grade-wise (in my opinion) but harder content-wise. Just pay attention and work for it :)

Many days I would go in to class feeling extremely nervous and worried about how I was doing in it. But I was always feeling much better and more confident when I talked to Mr. Dwork. He is one of the main reasons I am still in the class. Not only is Mr. Dwork funny and smart, he is a genuinely kind and caring person.

Mr Dwork is a good Lecturer and can really teach you Calculus. His testing is different from standardize testing and requires you to really study for your math tests. There are very few tests but a lot of content to you must attend class every day to keep up. His homework is online and you really want to make sure you keep up with it.

Professor Dwork is an amazing teacher. I took MAT212 online and I have never had a teacher answer emails so quickly. He would make videos on any concept or homework question I had. He cares about his students and wants to help, if you want to help yourself. I would not take any other teacher for MAT212, do yourself a favor and take his class! :)

This professor grades based on a different grading system:competency based testing. It allows you to test over all the sections during the whole semester, giving you a chance to pass a section when you really understand it. He really tries to help in any way he can. Showing up really makes a difference so you understand the notes and ask questions.

Math is a difficult class to take online. He does a good job making videos of his lectures. I found this easier to understand rather than just reading the text. I felt that he put a lot of effort into getting you to understand what you are doing. Be prepared to put time into the class.

Love his class and he's a fantastic teacher. I would definitely take the class again. The only thing is that the quizzes are pretty rough. They are sometimes announced or unannounced, usually right after a lecture, so I don't get time to process the info especially on a tougher unit. They keep your grade low no matter the test grade. AMAZING THOUGH

He is a great professor. He really wants every student to understand the concepts and get the grade you wish for. The only slight concern I have is his grading. On many tests, I usually get close when it is a very small error, meaning I have to redo the compentency again. If he was a bit more lenient on his grading, he would be perfect.

One of those teachers who genuinely care about you and Want you to do well. He will help you any way he can wether it be math related or not. Atrocious handwriting but you write your own notes anyway. Important to go to class and pay attention to the homework questions as test questions are often very similar. Competency based testing is Great!! ��

He talks too much, but other then talking he is a good teacher. His class makes me think of apple pie. There arent any windows, so you can only look at the board when you are bored.

Professor Dwork is very knowledgeable and is very good at what he does. Homework and class participation should get most people nearly ready for testing. Supplement with a small study group and some tutoring and you should be golden. He uses compentency-based tests and is great at sketching a path to a passing grade even if you're really struggling

Mr.D was a great teacher! He always made sure we understood the lesson and he always wanted us to succeed. He is such an energetic teacher who is passionate about what he does. 10/10

Great videos that go in detail to solve each problem. Also responds very quickly, and is availbe at all times. Assignments were not stacked up one day, and the class moved at a comfortable pace. Would recommend to anyone taking an online math course.

He is my favorite teacher I have had since returning to college last year. This is a 200 level math course delivered online, that is the difficult part. He provided clear instructions in videos that felt approachable, and if anything didn't make sense he created personalized videos for you to follow along. Expect an instructor who cares.

I don't get why there are so many bad reviews. This guy really cares for his students and ACTUALLY wants them to pass with an A. To pass, you must put in the time and get the extra help. However, he helps you by putting a step by step video for every problem you come across on, along with feedback. Plus, he replies to emails very quick.

Professor Dwork is one of the best math teachers I have ever had, and I can tell you that this man does a wonderful job teaching math. This is coming from someone who has had to retake the class numerous times Professor Dwork was able to get through my thick skull. He provides great video examples and is willing to help his students no matter what.

Good class with good workload. The teacher has good lectures, and the videos in the homework also help. Gets back to you pretty quickly if you have questions, and gives helpful feedback. With this prof, I recommend you STAY ENGAGED THE WHOLE TIME! It is only as interesting as you make it out to be, and he does all he can to help you succeed.

If you struggle with math Prof. Dwork is the best teacher to take! He is super caring and gives you every opportunity to pass if you put in the effort for his class. This was the most intense math class I have ever taken, but Professor Dwork is aware of it and is always there to help. His email response times are within an hour and often just 10 minutes during the day. He reaches out to students who are struggling. He offers resources and assistance constantly and does everything within his power to help you.

I've never been good at math and this summer online precalculus class material is difficult, but if you have to take it: THIS PROFESSOR IS AMAZING. He is super caring and helpful, and will personally answer all of your questions. Two tests are not proctored, but midterm and final are. By far the best math teacher I have ever had.

I'm currently in his class & honestly wow. He is an amazing professor. I didn't think I would even have a chance at passing Calc ( I suck at math) but Dwork does his best to lecture & help you in every way! If you're bad with math I really recommend taking Dwork. Professor Dwork is awesome. He adds personality to a mostly dull topic (sorry Professor) and is diligent in responding to your questions and making sure you understand the material. He is great at what he does.

I've struggled with math, I have done so for a while. Professor Dwork was one of the first professors who was amazing at communicating and showing kindness to his students. I was able to navigate through all of the homework, notes, tests, quizzes. I still struggled here and there but he never once made me feel unintelligent for getting a low score.

This course is hard no doubt. This was my second time taking it, the first class I dropped out of because the professor was too hard, but Dwork made it as clear as possible. As long as you do the homework and study and at least put in effort to learn the material you will do fine. This class you have to learn the material or you won't pass.

The material is as difficult as expected for a calculus course; however, Professor Dwork does everything he can to prepare you. He gives really detailed lecture notes and many attempts on homework for you to understand. As long as you do your part and don't slack off you can easily pass this class.

Professor Dwork is a great teacher. He will provide help if needed and he goes out of his way to make sure his students are doing well. He will help any way he can. His teaching style is different than what I m used to but you will get used to it. Just staying on top of your work will get you to succeed in his class. Overall a very nice guy.

The class is easy ONLY if you try to put effort to learn the lessons. Professor Dwork has done a fantastic job of making a not-so-fun class be easy. Explanations of each problem are very clear. Best math class at PVCC

Professor Dwork is an extraordinary Professor. He is extremely helpful, kind, and gives as much feedback as possible. If students do their part, everyone will do well in his class. I am learning things (MAT) in his class that blow my mind. Professor Dwork proved to me that if I put enough effort, I could learn the impossible. Highly recommended.

I took Dworks MAT212 online. I was a bit nervous since its online but he provides notes with video lectures to guide you along the chapters. This class is tough but if you do your homework and review plenty for the exams, you will ace it. He also allows you to retake quizzes as many times as youd like to reach the grade you want.

I was scared to take calculus, but Prof. Dwork makes it easy to understand. His lectures are clear and contacting him for help on the HW is the best way to go! Gives you study materials that are super helpful for the test, and how hard you work determines what grade you'll get. He's the best math professor I've ever had and I totally recommend him!

Great guy! IMO he approaches teaching calculus in an 'explain-like-Im-5' kind of way. Easy to understand even though he teaches pretty complex topics, I loved it. In my personal experience, this class really made me start to TRULY understand math and the way that math is supposed to work. He's extremely fair and accomodating to reasonable requests

Truly cares for his students and replies to an email pretty fast. However, I find it a little hard for me to fully understand the videos because he speaks pretty fast. But overall, he is a good professor. Would take it again IN PERSON.

I had a good experience with this class. Though the material is tough, Professor Dwork does a great job at giving access to help and video notes that help a ton. Good for visual learners since he walked through problems via video and did not just have textbook reading.

I had lost all motivation in this class when I fell behind due to some personal problems. I told Mr. Dwork I was thinking about dropping the class because I didn't think I could catch up. Mr. Dwork helped me realize that with hard work, I could do it just fine. I ended with a B. If you participate and value his feedback, you will love him!

This class was definitely on the more difficult side for me. However, Professor Dwork was such a nice teacher who genuinely cared about your grade. He responds fast to emails with questions over the topic and his lectures are very in depth. The class itself was on the tougher side but with the proper amount of time invested into it, it will be fine

Although I definitely did not give this class my all it was a great class and the teacher was always encouraging, helpful, and reasonable. He was one of the best teachers I've ever had and if I could have every teacher be like him I would do that. He gives specific explanations for his grades and really encourages you to do your best.

*This is not an easy class*! With that being said Professor Dwork gives you everything you need to succeed. Notes match up perfectly with the videos that are provided. Do the homework and ask for help on the questions you do not know! He is definitely there to help you and wants you to pass.

Professor Dwork is one of the best Math teachers I have ever had. I truly do appreciate the self made lectures because it was easier to understand the material . When I had questions he was there to help. He gives many opportunities to pass, you just have to put in the effort and it will come.

Professor Dwork is absolutely amazing. Make sure and complete all of the homework and write out your problems vertically (each step should be on it's own line). If you need help on any of the problems, just send him a picture of your work, and he will send a detailed video on where you went wrong and how to fix it. Best online professor ever. 10/10

I want to say that for ME it was a 4 in terms of workload but that was with only 3 days to do the work. Though there was one, maybe two, times where I was cutting it close, I never felt like it was "too much". You write out work but in exchange for much less work. Professor changes up the formula from other online Math classes, all for the better.

Dr Dwork is really a wonderful professor. I struggled and he was so kind and helpful throughout. The videos he does for student help are awesome. He's super available for office hours. Never once did he make me feel bad for not understanding. I hope to never take another math class for the rest of my life but if I had to, I would want him.

You have good teachers and you have bad teachers and then there is Professor Dwork. I have been in school for two years and have worked alongside teachers for an entire decade and I have not seen the same impact that I have seen in this class. This class is tough and you will struggle, but get help when you need it and you'll end up doing just fine

Prof. Dwork is an amazing professor. He will do everything in his power to make sure you get a good understanding of the topics and provides every possible resource to make you succeed. The only thing you will be disappointed in when taking his class is that it has to end. Calculus is hard, but he makes it easy to love it.

Absolutely amazing!!! He makes calculus as easy to understand as possible (but it is still hard simply because it's a hard class). He really cares and wants his students to do well and retain knowledge. He is super hilarious and his jokes help you remember small details. He is accommodating and always available to answer emails and help students.

Professor Dwork was the best math professor I have ever had. He does a fantastic job at explaining difficult subjects. He constantly urges struggling students to attend his office hours because he genuinely wants all of his students to succeed. He is, without a doubt, one of the best professors at PVCC.

Professor Dwork is incredibly helpful, considerate, and fair. He is more than willing to schedule office hours with you to work through any challenges. I used the tutoring center in the Q building a lot, it became a healthy habit so I would do my homework on campus and was able to get my questions answered on the spot.

If you need help, do not be afraid to ask. Mr. Dwork goes through every problem you have step by step and he makes it as easy as possible for you to learn hard concepts.

Overall a great teacher! I do recommend taking this class in person, I likely would have done better if the lectures were in person. If you learn well online however the lectures are very descriptive. Be sure to do the homework before the due date because the professor will give you lots of help if you give him time.

I cannot recommend Mr. Dwork enough to anyone needing to take Calculus. He cares so much about making sure each student has all the support and help they could need to pass the class. His teaching style is so clear to follow and he provides guided notes to help the students follow along. He makes a math class entertaining and manageable.

I suggest meeting with him during office hours to go over exams. This first time I took Calculus I got a D (different teacher), but I took it a second time with Dwork and got an A. I took David Dwork's precalculus class, MAT187 (wasn't listed for some reason). I had never done objective-based testing before, but I really enjoyed it! You will succeed in this class as long as you put in the effort, attend class, complete the homework, and ask questions. Another tip, watch the video lessons!

One of the best math professors I've ever had. His lectures are easy to understand, and as long as you keep up with the homework and ask questions you will get a good grade. He was very accommodating with every student in class, and takes time out of his day to help his students to succeed in the course. Objective based testing is another plus.

calc 2 is a very tough class. I wasn't sure if i was going to pass about halfway through the class. but I finished strong with a 98 %. Dwork is a great teacher and I love the objective based structure of the class. If you fail an objective, you can retake it and pass it on future exams. And now I thoroughly understand all of the material

I took calc I with Professor Dwork. The objective-based testing is a bit nerve-wracking but the allowance to continue practicing objectives until mastery was incredibly helpful. I was able to leave the course with a firm understanding of all of the material throughout the entire semester.

I was worried about taking Calculus 2 because I took Calculus 1 six years ago in a previous major. However, that worry quickly faded as I realized I had a great professor. Mr.Dwork translated complex subject matter into something I could grasp. He is a very patient and passionate math professor. I would take Calculus 3 with him if he taught it.

As long as you apply yourself and participate in class, you'll find the concepts relatively simple to grasp. Professor Dwork is truly the BEST math professor I have ever had. He is very clear at explaining the material and answers questions with enthusiasm. As long as you do the homework, it's pretty simple. It prepares you for the exams which are objective-based so you get the opportunity to re-try them on future exams. I would take his class any day.

His calc classes should be objective based; 16 total objectives, four exams w/ 3-6 objectives per exam & one final. You have three tries to master each objective. Dwork makes himself available almost universally to his students & he exhibits a positive & affirming attitude. His teaching is quite animated, but it's actually refreshing. I'm thankful!

Professor Dwork was amazing, the way he explains every topic was above and beyond. He was kind and caring enough to offer to go to the learning center during one of his office hours so more students can have access to help with math problems. The system for masteries is a little bit hard to get used to at the beginning but it gets better.

He wants everyone to understand concepts, there is no shame in asking questions and he will explain it in any way for you to have understanding. Guided notes are provided. The textbook is provided by MOER, cost friendly. Lovely Instructor, would definitely take again!

I won't lie, Calc 2 can prove to be a very challenging course, however Professor Dwork makes course content as simple as possible and easy to understand while maintaining his dry sense of humor. Attend every class, do all the homework and study for each exam and getting a B in this class should be a piece of cake thanks to Professor Dwork.

I took him both for MAT187 and MAT220; he is a great professor. He is very kind and understanding. He is always willing to help and answer questions.

Professor Dwork is genuinely one of, if not the best professor I have ever had. His teaching style is magnetic, engaging, and fun. There was never a single moment where I was bored in his classroom. I cannot recommend taking him enough.

He does well in keeping the class engaged with the material, and explaining difficult concepts in a clear, easily digestible way. He's also a great communicator regarding due dates, expectations, and what you can do for help if needed. The class itself uses competency-based learning, which I found to be highly effective.
