This is a great teacher to take. He will take the extra time to help you if you need it. Overall a great teacher
very nice and great teacher! never hesitate to help students...he's always very easy going and humorous! him and his co-teacher Toran made da class really fun and enjoyable!! MUST TAKE HIM!!
All I have to say is that if you take part in the speech tournament, you don't have to take the final! Just read the summaries at the end of the chapter and you'll pass all the quizzes! This class is an easy A!
I had him for Argumentation and Debate. He made the class harder than it could have been. He let's his emotions get in the way of his teaching.
I had David years ago for Speech 1. It's a req. course for transfer, but he made it interesting. He still recognizes me when we run into each other on occassion and that's always nice.
Long Quizs
Dave is a great teacher. He cares about his students and is passionate about his teaching. If you spend a little time preparing for your speech, you'll do fine.
Dave is a great teacher. He is always willing to help and tries to make the subject fun. If you show up, pay attention, follow clear instructions, and spend a little time preparing for debates, this will be a very easy and fun class for you.
I felt as though there were times that I studied for more than I should have. A specific study guide for tests would be great.
this was a good class I learned a lot from it. he teaches pretty well and he is a nice guy that cares. his tests are kind of hard because they are so specific. it was fun though, esecially the activities.
He was a great teacher, and the class was so interesting, but on the very lasy week he singled me out from the rest of my group. He made life hard for me just because my other group members didn't show up for the debate. Be very weary of who you group with, if they don't show up you r accountable.
Excellent teacher!Challenging, but fair. He made me more of a critical thinker and raised my confidence level. I highly recommend him!
This guy is the real deal. Dave will spend that extra time to help you understand! Very demanding, but very supporting! If you want that confidence to stand in front of an employer and give an effective presentation--Take this class.
hard class...the reason i dislike him is because i was suppose to recieve an A at least that is what he told me when i went into the conference and turns out he gave me a B in the end. I emailed him and it took forever and the grade never got changed.
The class was ok but the quizes were somewhat hard. Only 1 group presentation and thats it. As long as you read u will be fine.
It is true that David is a good person. However, in his teaching he is not that great. It is very hard to get an A in his class. You will need to do lots of extra credit. Book is useless. Sometimes when you expect one grade you may not get it. It is hard to convince him to change your grade. But if you not aiming for A you can make it.
This guy really makes an effort to help his students succeed. I had difficulty with some of the material, but Dave met me in the lab and explained the concepts until I understood. His class is challenging, but I learned a lot in this class plus became a more confident speaker at work. Take this class!
If you're aiming to actually learn something about Com, Speach and Debate, than David Fabionar is the Professor to take. Ya, he's tough, but you'll actually learn something if you listen to him and read his critiques. So for all you Social Science, Political Science, and or future Attornys; this is the guy you want to take!
A cool class and teacher who really taught me something. I can talk about current events with my parents now and actually have something to say. Plus he's cute. Take him.
I received an A. My friend did, as well. Advice: read the book for the tests, prepare for the debates, complete extra credit if you're on the grade cusp. Dave certainly knows his stuff; if you take his class, you won't be sorry.
The class was good and David was helpful when I came to him with concerns about the group projects. The tests were not particularly easy, but he did his best to prepare the class. I ended up with an A in the class, but I did have to work for it.
Number one thing...you have to attend his class. He gives you points everyday you attend. If you never come to class, you are not going to pass. Speeches were very fun and open to whatever topics we wanted.
David is a pretty cool guy. He's a family man, but he always makes time for his students. Good luck trying to get your grade changed in there though, because he makes you argue your case.
This is the guy to take. David has all the answers you need to know about speech. Very friendly and funny. If you have any troubles, make sure to let him know and you will be helped.
terrible teacher that has seems to always be checking out girls in the class. Luckily me and my girlfriend at the time both dropped, but it was realllly annoying. I've talked to others as well and all have said the same thing. If youre a girl, take him, you will for sure get a good grade. If a guy, highly unrecommended.
Great teacher, really cares and is willing to help you if needed. I definatly suggest you take this professor.

If you want an A take this class! As long as you follow the format of the debates you should get at least an A or B - unfortunately most dont and im guessing their the ones complaining.Has exam reviews the class b4 the exam.Evrything discussed is on the exam,no surprises.Hands out a good amt of xtra credit that req's no real effort.Highly Recommend!
Good teacher to take if you want to learn something but not be pounded with work. Great extra credit opportunities, plenty of preperation time for speeches, also in class practice, lab recource, fun class! Study for quizzes, only a few and not a lot of questions, just know the main points and you'll pass.
If you cannot ace this class, then it is for one of two reasons: either you are incredibly lazy, or you are a retard! This is the easiest A ever, very little work except twice during last two speeches. Fail two quizzes and you can still get an A in the class with the extra credit. Also allows opportunity to do a tournament for 100% on final! TAKE!!
Great teacher! You must put forth the effort so that it won't be hard. The presentations you do will help with your speaking. He is always willing to help a student if they ask, and has a great sense of humor.
Mr. Fabionar was very helpful. He was extremely polite and respectful while working with me. He was always willing to explain things to me when I had questions. I would recommend him to any student not afraid to put in effort and time to succeed in the class.
David makes communication fun. I took pub. spkg. and arg. and debate with him because I learned a lot without tons of busywork. Go by his guidelines, do the research, and review your notes. His critiques are very positive so that you can learn and feel good about trying. Pay attention, listening is a critical skill in this class. Attendence is key.
D. Fabionar is the perfect instructor for both the beginning communications student and the comm major with tons of previous experience. He provides support and a relaxing environment for those with anxiety about public speaking and he encourages those with obvious talent and drive to hone their communication skills. I enjoy his teaching style.
D. Fabionar teaches with the perfect combination of professionalism and approachability. He provides a comfortable environment for those with anxiety about public speaking and his passion for the intercultural communication process is inspiring. Anyone willing to put in the work can earn an A in this class. I signed up for another of his classes
Dave is an AWESOME teacher! His quizzes are easy, grades fair on speeches as long as you follow the guidelines, and gives you an opportunity to not take the final and get an A on it. Also, he gives an opportunity for lots of extra credit. He's very approachable, very understandable, and makes speaking infront of class easier. BEST teacher at SCC!!!
I thought this professor was as good as it gets. Hes very helpful, makes class interesting, and you really learn alot. Would definitely take again, GREAT GUY, FUNNY AND SWEET!!!
I struggle with public speaking, but Mr. Fab is always in the lab for assistance, he is a fair grader, and very approachable. I would definately take another one of his classes.
Prof. Fabionar is an EXCELLENT TEACHER!!! Disregard the untruthful and negative comments stated by other students. Those are individuals who play the victim and are too damn lazy to do the assigned work. Prof. Fabionar knows his stuff,he's very approachable, is an easy grader and he's always offering to help his students. Take Fabionar! (Mao Mua)
let me dispell many of the myths in his comments: #1 he DOES NOT check out the girls in his class..#2 He makes it very clear at the beginning of the course what you should expect and #3 Very approachable, and REAL when it comes your grade. now for my review: MISTAH FAB is the GREAT!! study hard, show up, dont flake on the debates and you'll do fine
David is a great teacher! I took COMM301 which in the introduction to public speaking. I hate speaking in front of a bunch of people, but he explains how everyone feels the same way and nobody can even see that your as nervous as you feel. The assignments are pretty easy, you just do speeches (try to pick a topic that interests you). You do have t
(try to pick a topic that interests you). You do have to read the text for the quizzes, but he reviews what will be on the quiz. AND the final is awesome. He lets you get an A if you participate in a speech tournament - it wasn't very hard :)
I took him for Argumentation and Debate and it was AWESOME. Who would've thought that debate could be fun, right? Well, his professor teaches extremely well and is passionate about it. Highly recommend him for any speech and debate classes. His exams aren't difficult and # of assignments are reasonable. Evidence cards take forever to do though
Prof Fabionar is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and about teaching. I was highly recommend taking any course from him. He is also easy to get along with and is not intimidating at all.
Just do the speeches, take the quizzes, and show up for class. It's pretty straightforward. If you miss any of those, dont' expect a high grade. He's fun, informative, and very chill.
Very helpful; spend time on your speeches, ask questions if you don't understand something and you'll do well. Don't miss any of the speeches - they're the biggest part of your grade and they get more difficult toward the end of the semester.
he is so helpful. I recommend this class to everyone. I took it over the summer and it went by so fast. Communicate with him, go to class, take good notes and be open to new things...you will be 100% successful
Gives excellent feedback for improving your writing ability on papers. I recommend his Intercultural Communication class for anybody interested in becoming less ethnocentric and more rhetorically sensitive!
He's really nice and makes class fun. It's a hard class, but it definitely teaches you critical thinking. He's somewhat disorganized with lecture, and sometimes expects you to know something he hasn't taught. Of course, reading the book would probably help... Great class, great teacher!
Great instructor. Interesting, helpful, easy assignments. Evidence cards are tough though.
Excellent and fun teacher. He loves what he does and it shows. His grading system is based on points...period. If you do the work and put forth an effort you'll do fine, but he doesn't do favors. If you participate in the speech tourney he'll give you a 100% on your final exam. I highly recommend it, don't be intimidated. He's the best!
It's all about Fab! He makes public speaking less intimidating and that creates a better learning environment. You neeeeeed to come to class though. I highly recommend
David made the 4 week summer course manageable and the experience less daunting. He was very humane and flexible with assignments. He interacted with his students and was always ready to help. I did have to manage my time wisely and balance work with fun, but found it all worth it in the end. I definitely recommend this professor!
Hey was really sweet. He really wants everyone to have confidence in front of a crowd. I would highly recommend him, especially for a summer class. Plus, he's cute!
This teacher is nice and you can tell that he loves what he does. The quizzes are not hard if you read the book. If you put in effort he will pass you. I know for a fact because I had like a D around midterms and when I give my speeches I didn't remember them. I deserved a D or C and got a B. I did that paper final which isn't smart because if u pa
His class was my favorite one all semester. There are four speeches and they are all pretty straight forward. The book isn't necessary because he goes over the material the class before the tests. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit. (Some cost though). Overall a great teacher!
I hate public speaking and he made it okay. Only thing I didn't care for, was I'm a science major and gave a speech on prosthetic limbs and was accused of plagiarism because it was too technical for him. He later dropped the accusations. Great guy and very understanding. Hate public speaking, but liked the class.
Intercultural Comm. This was my 2nd class with Fabionar; would definitely take him again. Not too difficult if you attend every class, pay attention, read the text, spend adequate time on the papers & assignments & use his exam study guides. Community service group project can be tough if there's slackers in your group; choose your group carefully.
Took 8-wk course: Fast paced & less time to polish speeches, but there's less time to feel anxiety too. Classes don't feel long bc we're busy listening to speeches and working on them. DREADED this class but LOVED it at the end! 3 easy quizzes if you read; 5 speeches. Fabionar is awesome/laid-back/understanding/cool! Take it & DON'T GIVE UP!!!
Hands down the 2nd best class I have taken. I took his public speaking class and I didn't do well on that class due to my own shortcomings. The argumentation and debate class is something every student should take to cover their G.E. class. It helps you think and puts your critical thinking, research skills in practice. GO MR. FAB!!
Argumentation and Debate was a good class but hard to keep up in four weeks. Mr. Fab kept the class moving forward and encouraged us to succeed. He clearly cares about the topic and will help students after class. 3 tests, reading quizzes, and 2 debates in front of class. Great class, I'd take another from Mr. Fab.
He's so nice teacher. First day, i though he's mean, but then as i gave my first speech, i knew he was nice. I will say, take him :) oh and yea he's CUTE
Prof Fab is a good professor. fun class. interesting lectures. pretty reasonable with attendance ( but you will need to attend to know whats going on)
Prof. Fab is a nice guy, entertaining, and lively. However, he is passionate about debate and will not let you skate. He holds each student up to individualized standards. I appreciate this type of teacher. You need to attend to do well.
Mr. Fab is definitely a good teacher if you want to learn the methods behind argumentation. He not only knows what he teaches, but he practices and has a passion for what he teaches (a must in any course). Definitely take Mr. Fab. if you aim towards a career involved in argumentation/debate.
Really fun teacher. He goes over what will be in the quizzes and I need to add that for a semester, we only had 2! Class mostly consist of speaking.. and it's really easy, just make sure you do it well. He grades easily as long as he sees that you apply yourself in your speeches. DON'T DROP HIS CLASS! He's a really good teacher!
Mr Fabionar splits the class into 4-5 groups, then each group volunteers 15 hours at the charity of their choice. There's also a group presentation at the end of the semester, where you report what you did, plus a written portfolio that describes the project in detail. In addition, there are 4 tests, based on reading, but he drops 1 test score.
Mr. Fab is very passionate in what he teaches. Public speaking is not easy, and Mr. Fab brings the best out of you, trust me. Just put in the effort and you will pass with a breeze. He loves EFFORT!!!! Great Professor to take if you really want to improve your Public Speaking skills!
Awesome professor very helpful. He definitely wants you to pass his class. Class is mandatory especially if you take an accelerated class. He is very clear on what he wants for speeches. Over all great course would recommend!
I took Mr. Fabionar's class for 4 weeks summer class. The class was not easy since it was a fast-paced for summer, but Mr. Fab was very helpful. Just do all the required readings and prepare/practice for your speeches and you'll be fine. There were 5 speeches overall, 3 quizzes, and reading checks. I recommend Mr. Fabionar! You'll learn a lot!
The best communication professor! Make sure to practice before doing your speech and you'll get an awesome grade.
He is a very organized teacher. He's kind and respectful. He shares many examples in his life to help with what he is teaching. He "loves" to hear what you did over the week. He gives helpful study guides! Study hard and know everything that's on the study guides because basically, your test IS the study guide.Overall, great teacher, I recommend!
Professor Fabionar is great, he really knows what he is talking about. You can for sure see that he is passionate about the subject. His class does require a bit of work but I think it is one of the best classes I have ever taken at Sacramento City College!
Fabionar is an amazing professor who is an expert in his field. Very engaging and in general knowledgeable all around.Speeches should be well prepared. Textbook necessary for quiz. He gives specific guidelines for the speeches, follow them exactly and you will do fine. Show up to class it is mandatory for your grade. Best professor ever.
Fabionar is an excellent communications professor. By the end of the class, I was able to gives speeches with a lot more confidence. You'll do well in his class as long as you give yourself plenty of time to practice your speech. He grades on the speech delivery, but more so on how much effort you put into the speech. Final grades reflect effort.
Mr. Fabionar is the best communication teacher ever! I learned alot in his conflict management class.
Mr. Fab is probably the smiliest professor I've ever had. He is always, always willing to help out with any confusion or problems you might have. Just an all-around great teacher!
Mr.Fab is a great professor. All speeches are easy and straight-forward. You just gotta do the work and what is the expected. An easy "A" if you imply your best efforts. Don't expect a good grade if you didn't imply yourself.
Professor Fab is the best professor! If you want to have a happier life build better relationships, take his Conflict class. I learned so much about myself. Prof Fab really care about his students, he puts so much effort into making the class great. My life has changed for the better after taking this class. P.S this prof is easy on the eyes!
He is a great professor. I took the 8-week course and loved it. It's alot of work but he is up front with you. He tells you exactly how he wants the speeches, shows you video examples and will meet with you in his office if you need any kind of help. He is routing for the students and wants everyone to succeed. HIGHLY recommend!!
He lectures very little and you are expected to mesh with the other students to talk about the concepts. His tests are easy enough though and if you do the reading and attend lectures you'll be okay. He likes when you participate and offer your own examples, but some students love to take that as a free counseling session.
I took his 4week course and thought it was fairly easy. He does want to see you try and put effort so he's not handing out A's easily bc it's pub. speaking. Quizzes are pretty easy. Gives a lot of examples and is pretty clear on what to expect. Frankly I think it's worth taking a 4 week course but he's done teaching summer:
I loved his class. I ended with a B. He was a fair grader. Everyone says hes bad and all that, but honestly if you put in the work and not be lazy, and get to know your classmates, it'll be the best time of your life. I couldn't stop going to his classes.
I learned a lot about myself and those I interact with from taking this class. Most of your time is spent reflecting about yourself in journal entries. The hard part of this class is the tests. He definitely included things on the tests that were not gone over in class. But a few questions should not prevent you from getting an A. Loved it!
Professor Fabionar is fabulous! He is very clear in what he expects. If you practice you will do well in his class. This was a difficult class for me because public speaking terrified me. He really puts you at ease and smiles a lot. Make sure to cite sources well and read his rubric you will do well. PRACTICE is key. He offers some extra credit.:)
Take the 8 wk class! It goes by fast! 5 speeches with 2 requiring some research but it's not hard to get an A. He won't dock you for nervousness, so just follow his formatting for the speeches and you're good. 3 quizzes from the book (really easy read, short chapters). He really is rooting for your success! He puts you at ease with his smile.
such an understanding, passionate, dedicated professor! he really cares about his students! his exams are straightforward, he doesn't cram material, and doesn't load you up on homework. he makes class really fun and tries to include everyone by doing class activities, which most students don't enjoy, but he makes them fun. i would take him again!
Was dreading taking speech but having Prof Fab was the best choice I could have made! He is a quick responder via email and wants everyone to succeed. Gives great feedback and wants to make sure you are comfortable in front of an audience. Very supportive and helpful teacher and told entertaining stories. Cannot say enough good things about him!
Professor Fabionar is a great teacher. The class is challenging because it requires a lot of research and you have to be prepared for your debates otherwise your grade will suffer. With that said he gives every student the opportunity to succeed with extra credit and a clear outline of the expectations of the course.
Not terrible. You can get a really good grade if you tried. I was taking 18 units and this class was easy so I did not try at all and got a B. I was frustrated because if I had put any effort in I could have gotten an A. If you dont get at least a B then you must have skipped at least once a week and missed assignments
Amazing professor. He not only inspired me,but helped me understand how conflict works in the real world. He cares abt his students and will tell you what needs to be improved. He's funny and is a super cool and the HOTTEST professor on campus! He's fair and honest abt giving you the grades you worked for. I'm taking him spring 2017!!!
He is by far my favorite Comm professor. He was caring and extremely compassionate to students. It is not difficult to get a good grade, attend class and take his feedback to heart. He basically hand feeds you what he expects and wants, if you improve and actually try, an A is easy. Wish I had more Comm classes to take, I could take him a 3rd time.
Very laid back approach at teaching, except for when presentation days come around. Then he is alert and constantly observing. His class can be fun at times and he helps to make the experience of public speaking a little less nerve wrecking. He offers lots of good advice just be sure to USE IT! He is a stickler for attendance so show up every day.
I took Mr. Fab's intro to communications class in the fall of 2016, and it was an accelerated 8-week class. There's 5 speeches total, with a couple quizzes about things in the textbook. I'm usually a shy quiet person and hate public speaking, but this was by far my favorite class I've ever taken at City, I definitely recommend taking his class!
Had him for Public Speaking in Fall 2016, can honestly say he's one of the best teachers I've ever had. Don't think it's an easy A, I worked hard and only got an A because of end of the semester extra credit opportunities. Requires research and preparation, will not cut ANY slack on late assignments. Take if you really want to learn public speaking
Prof. Fabionar is an excellent professor who knows what he teaches beforehand. His lectures were clear and his tests poised somewhat of a challenge. But if you study hard and thoroughly do your journals which are worth a lot of points, you'll definitely pass the class with a satisfactory grade. I would recommend Prof. Fabionar over any other prof.
Professor Fabionar really cares about his students and wants to see them pass. Do what he says, practice your speeches and you'll do fine. He also offers extra credit at the end of the semester and a make-up speech. Not hard, no hw, just preparing for speeches. Take them seriously!
AMAZING CLASS! Anyone who needs to talk public speaking should take his class! I was not the greatest at public speaking because my nerves would get to me. BUT after taking his class, I've learned so much and I'm not scared to speak in front of an audience anymore! If you want something out of public speaking, take his class! Super straight forward
I have no idea how this professor has such a high rating. In our class of about 25 students, ONLY 4 got an A. He doesn't care about effort. Dont take him if you want a good grade, I should've at least received a B with how much effort i put into my speeches and researching. Many students in the class even said that he does not know how to grade.
He's a great professor ! If you want an A, actually visit him during his office hours or when he's offers to speak to students during class time. I went to talk to him and got advice for all of my speeches. I received all A's for that. Many students would just leave class without asking for advice and still wonder why they didn't pass. Just a tip!
Public Speaking is not my favorite but taking his class has made me a better speaker. He gives good feedback and will give you tips on how to improve your speeches. He is on the student's side. Def taking him for another req. comm class.
Not many things in the class besides the speeches, so practice. He is a tough grader, but it works. He is a great teacher and knows what he is doing.
Won't give you an A to save his life.
Unclear grading criteria. Constantly misunderstands student's answers. After conferring with a cousin who is a trial lawyer and a championship debater, he said my 'C' grade paper looked like an A if not a B. This professor will not give you an A no matter what. 2/30 students received A's only by doing extra credit
I took this Conflict Management class for the Fall Semester 18. It was my 1st class that I chose outside of my gened or major req classes based only on the details I read of it in the Catalog, & I am so happy I took the chance! It was so fun & Professor Fabinor made it so easy to be able to relate & understand everything! Tottaly recommend!
I took Fab's Comm301 class in the Fall18 semester. I dislike public speaking but Mr. Fab's teaching ethic & the exercises we would do in class to make us more comfortable, helped me overcome this fear. He is very clear, straightforward, & helpful. As long as you put the work & effort in, you WILL get the grade you desire! Definitely recommend!
Dr. Fab was an enthusiastic professor. Experienced or not, you'll have a lot of guidance and support. Make sure you follow the guidelines like a checklist, have a growth mindset (lots of advice and improvement methods are taught), and do the extra credit opportunities available. Don't doubt your ability to earn a good grade in this class!
Took COMM301 Spring19. Public speaking sucks but the class was fun! He gives a lot of extra credit but if you miss class you lose points which you can not make up so don't miss out on class. Also go to his office hours to work on your speeches it will help you a lot! If you do all the speeches and the extra credit it will be hard to fail his class.
Professor Fabionar is the best! For every presentation, he would provide us with examples, give us feedback on our outlines, and had workshops in class to work on our projects. His class was easy, just make sure you practice your presentations! He cares more that effort and evidence of practice is shown, rather than memorization.
Mr. Fabionar broke down public speaking in an easy way and made it fun! He is a funny person who cares deeply about each individual student. His class work was very manageable amidst my crazy schedule. I highly recommend!
I took Interpersonal Communication with prof Fab and it was great. It was a hybrid class but he still made it really doable. His lectures are fun and he tries to really engage the class and he pretty much works/opens up as much as the class is willing participate. Weeks in advance for hw. 2 midterms, a few short essays and 1 take home final essay
I really enjoyed Mr. Fabionar's public speaking class. I took the 8 week version of the class so it was very fast pace with speeches due almost every 10 days or so. He is an excellent professor and gives great feedback on all speeches. I would definitely take another class with him.
He was a very understanding person, and was helpful when I reached out. The way he had us do a group project over canvas KILLED ME. Two of the people in my group didn't have a text book, and 1 didn't have computer access. I had so much anxiety from this class. There has to be a way to make this class work better thru Canvas. I gave up eventually.
As a teacher he is nothing more than adequate. Class was mildly informative but I think I would have had better luck with a different class or another professor. He tends to take an adequate amount of time to get back to any questions so if you have questions make sure to ask them weeks in advanced. Overall the professor was barely above mediocre.
I really wanted to go above and beyond in this class, but he was impossible to reach. Every time I had sent a message, I never received a response. I would of had a much higher percentage and *more sleep* if he answered my questions. Also, I feel his lectures are very unclear and dont reflect his grading method. Overall, poor.
Professor Fabionar came off as a nice guy, and you have the option to do a group project or an essay. The reason his rating is low is because I asked for a single day extension on the essay due to tragic events in the family, and he said no. I figured that as a conflict management professor, hed be more understanding, but I was severely let down.
The class I took taught by Professor Fabionar was conflict management. At first, I didn't think much of the class, but once I was there, that opinion changed. Professor Fabionar taught many tactics on how to deal with conflict in a healthy way and how to get over unhealthy conflict habits. If you find yourself having many conflicts, TAKE THIS CLASS
Great professor who was really understanding of people who are less comfortable speaking in front of groups like myself. The only problem I have was this horrible extra credit survey at the end of the course that was formatted horribly, asked repetitive questions, and made us respond on a 1 to 5 scale rather than a simple yes or no, which was dumb.
This class was really easy for a public speaking class. If you dont like to present in front of the whole class during zoom meetings then you can record your presentation in front of 3 other classmates and upload onto canvas. The grading criteria is very clear so its easy to get good grades on the speeches. There is little to minimal reading.
How about you imagine 8 assignments ranging from discussions minimum 250 word for your post and 4 responses, two full page papers, watching 7 different assigned youtube videos all having 4-7 questions per video and 2 quizzes due every Sunday. THIS IS A COMMUNICATION CLASS 8 weeks this guy has problems the class load is heavier than my A&P course!
This was an 8 week class with a workload of a 16 week class. If you believe that you are capable of doing that type of work than by all means go ahead. There was just to much work and not enough time. If you have a full schedule with work and more classes do not take this class!! You will be stressed out!!
He is a super flexible guy. I didn't feel the work was too heavy for an eight week class. I don't think he grades too tough. I would take him again and I hate English/writing/comm classes. I learned a lot about public speaking.
Prof. Fabionar is very passionate about this class, and the things you will learn are so useful. Take this class to understand and navigate conflict better at home and in your work place. The class is 8wks, but the work load is not overwhelming. He is a fair grader. For the final, you choose a group project or essay. The group project was fun.
Amazing professor. Highly recommend. He is there to help if you ask. Responds quickly to emails. He grades speeches fair and clearly says what he is looking for in an A speech. Practice and do the assignments on time, and you will do great and get an easy A. All around the amazing professor. Would definitely take it again.
Professor Fabionar is funny, relatable, and humurous. My best recommendation for this course is to complete extra credit assignments, your speeches can be average, yet you can finish with an A if you complete the extra credit assignments. Clear grading criteria, COMM 301 is a basic course, don't stress.
Professor Fabionar is an amazing teacher, who shows so much passion in his teaching, and care for his students. He is extremely helpful and approachable, as long as you go to class, read the textbook and participate in the speeches and exercises, you will excel in the class. He really cares about your progress and improvement in public speaking.
He's so sweet, I totally recommend his class he is very flexible and understanding. He cares about his students & what he teaches. Only thing I recommend is going to classes, you receive points on attendance, super easy and boosts your grade! :)
His class was a breathe of fresh air with my busy schedule. He's kind and you can tell he loves teaching communication. He's very supportive of his students and he only wants you to get better. He is lenient. Just practice your speeches and you will be successful. The drive to Davis was worth and although it's a commitment I loved his class.
He really makes public speaking so much easier. Hes a kind and understanding professor. He really wants you to just get out of your comfort zone and to try your best. He is understanding when it comes to grading and provides great feedback. I recommend his 8 week class. His class was fun and informative. I will miss taking his class. Awesome dude
Overall, a great professor, very kind and respectful, and easy to talk to. 100% would recommend.
