Great Teacher... A lot of fun in class.. Never a boring moment. Never walk in late he will tease you the entire period.
Quite possibly the best instructor I've had! He made the material easy to learn. This was the only class I looked forward to attending, honestly! Get him if you can.
Awesome guy! Tests were very difficult however!
He is by far the best teacher I have ever had!! Easy to understand, funny, and definitely not boring!!! Highly Recommend you take his class!
Very fun guy to listen to in class. First 3 test are average in hardness. The final is by far the easiest one. Just study definitions and examples he gives in class and you will do fine.
Fun class! I laugh everyday, and he gives logical examples. Decent tests as long as you know the definitions.
He's a very personable and laid back teacher. He takes attendance very seriously. You spend time learning grammar and English so that you do well on your paper (kind of boring). You work with an (assigned) partner for a paper and presentation. It takes some time, but he's VERY vague on what he wants, which gives you a sense of uncertainty.
EASY, JUST MEMORIZE THE BOLD DEFINITIONS AFTER EACH CHAPTER AND YOU WILL ACE IT. 100% IST TEST, DOES TAKE ATTENDANCE THOUGH, ANNOYING AS WELL.
Absolute blast going to his class...havent missed one day. Enjoy going to class and Mr Fallin is all to eager to help in any way possible. Makes marketing enjoyable!
Very down to Earth guy. Classes are a little harder than they probably should be, but worth it because he is somewhat entertaining.
Gem of a prof! There need to be more profs out there that are as caring as this one. Interesting and humorous lectures. One of my favorites at K-State. Attend class! The attendance points can cost you dearly.
Great guy, bad class. Went to class because he does teach material well and is very entertaining. Tests are horrible. 70% based on material not covered in class. I don't need to pay 900 bucks to be tested on material that isnt even important enough to be covered in class. Gives an EC prject at the end, but grades tough and not much time to do it.
Great Professor, I have learned alot from this person. Overall you need to go to class and read the book. Most test questions are from the book, know definitions.
Fallin is a cool and funny person but not much of a teacher. He doesnt cover everything that is on the test so 60% of the tested material you must pick up off reading the book yourself. The material itself is not hard and memorizing vocab will have you set for a good grade. Very easy material, just dont wait for Fallin to tell you ALL about itl!!
He is really funny and really tried to connect with students, but he trails off onto random subjects all the time. Tests are almost all about the vocab, so go through the book and know the definitions. Pretty easy class overall.
He is a doll! My fav prof at KSU, yes his tests are mostly from the book but he also tells you that ahead of time. He's really sweet and cares for his students getting to know you personally if you get involved. Don't text in class tho or he'll tease you all semester like he did to me :)
If I hear one more "I'm not mad at ya"... Study the book, more specifically the vocab. Don't really need to take notes, he uses powerpoints provided by the book which means you can look it up yourself. Attendance is kind of optional - it's one of those classes where you can teach yourself the material if you stay on top of it.
Really fun teacher. Big St. Louis Cardinals Fan, hates texas teams so don't wear a Texas hat! Also, turn your phone off becuase if it rings during class, you will have to bring cookies next time. Overall a very interesting class to take.
Great guy, friendly, very helpful as long as you ask. He expects the best from his students and encourages them to reach their potential.
I did not like this class at all, boring lectures and hard tests, I do not recommend him for any one
I took the online marketing 400 class, and it was horrible. He used some random website (connect something) and it was not a very good site to use. I don't know why he didn't just us KSOL. I studied for hours for the tests and i would get horrible grades, he wouldn't answer my emails ever.
He is so nice!He swears which is funny too. But he doesn't play. If he sees that students are not paying attention, he will dismiss class. (Its funny when he actually does it) Test are hard but study the notes and book and do your hw! I pissed a B by 2 points.
Great teacher except the notes in class get mixed up for 2 reasons: 1) You don't have time to write them. 2) He tells a lot of stories in class, that usually relate but still distract from the topic.
Professor Fallin is my favorite teacher I have had at K-State by far. He is interesting to listen to and really cares about his students. He is willing to help students outside of class whenever they need it. He does, however, get grumpy in class if people aren't paying attention or are on their computers, and do NOT use your cell phone in class.
He is not too Hard if you study well from the textbook .
He is sooo awesome! I love this class and he is very nice and helpful. As long as you study from the book and do the homework assignments, you'll be fine. Tests are mainly based on understanding the material and being able to put it in perspective. You will learn a lot in this class.
One of the most annoying human beings ever. Makes jokes the entire class period but expects you to know tons of material he never even touches on for his tests. Just..worthless. Take Lehman if at ALL possible!
One of the best teachers I have had. He is really helpful and really cheerful in class. He tries his best to make students understand the material.
He was awesome! The class was super easy and I barely studied. Though I missed several days, I just made sure to do the reading for those days and got an A in the class. This was the most fun class I've taken at K-state.
I took his class last semester & I think he is a great professor. His storys will make you think next time you go to a retail store. I am a B student & I got an A in this class. Go to class he will put things on the exam that he explains that will not be in the book (freebies). Everything he reviews over, for the exam, will be on it.
I absolutely love this man. He is such a great person with a wonderful heart! He takes you seriously if you take his class seriously and show respect.
Prof Fallin is a funny and kind-hearted man. He really cares about his students and if you just go to class and take minimal notes, you will do fine. His stories and examples make concepts relatable to everyday life and he is just a pleasant person to be around. I really enjoyed this class. Best teacher award.
Easiest class I've taken at K-State. Fallin manages to make a boring and entirely trivial subject worth showing up for lecture. If you put forth minimal effort, there's no reason you should get anything less than an A.
He is the best teacher I have ever had. Kind-hearted and really cares about this students. Only thing he doesn't like is cell phones in class. He jokes around and makes the class funny. He WANTS you to have the best grade. Even tells you basically everything on the test in the study guides. Easy A and you actually learn real life information.
He's a nice teacher but his lectures do not relate to the course. Half of the days I actually decided to attend class he blabbered about what his morning was like. You never have to attend class, and if you do only about 30% of the test is lecture. The other 70% is from the book. If you like testing from the book then take this class, if not don't.
Good teacher. Knows his stuff, interesting, very funny, and always invites you to visit him during office hours.
I loved David Fallin. I see him all the time around campus and he always gives me a hug. He is one of my favorite teachers here at K-State. Be warned, he does have a strict cell phone policy. Other than that, he will teach you so much.
I really enjoyed this class. Lectures are interesting but not required. Tests are fairly easy if you pay attention in class and study a bit.
Lectures are pointless since none of the material lectured is on the test. The Connect assignments are helpful for boosting your grade. Reading the textbook is the only way to do well on the test. He spends the class lecturing on his personal opinions and views, none of which have to do with marketing
Great class, great professor, really enjoyed it.
He is a very nice guy and means well. However, all of the learning is done outside of class. All homework is online, and the lectures are pointless to attend. If you have a genuine interest in marketing and can put in the work, he is fine. Otherwise, take with someone else.
He uses and is obsessed with McGraw Hill, but none of the material from the homework assignments from McGraw Hill are on any of the tests--so it's really just a bunch of busy work. If you go to class and take decent notes on his lectures you will be fine--but the lectures are extremely boring.
Most helpful instructor on campus. He wants to get to know every single student. Half of your grade is homework so if you're not great at test he's perfect
Great teacher! I would take classes with him again in a heart beat. Make sure that you either take notes or go through the text book before the exams. I am an awful test taker but managed to get through with a pretty great grade. He also does a large amount of the grade based on out of class homework. Funny and entertaining to listen to.
Great teacher! You don't necessarily have to go to class to pass but I enjoyed his lectures so much I didn't mind. The only down side to his class is book he has you buy has an online quiz part that is kind of expensive, but these quizzes are easy points and all together are worth just as much as one test.
Basic marketing course. If you follow the directions, you will pass the class with a good grade. Mind blown by people who complain about this professor.
Great Teacher! I am the type of student that learns better on my own, so I don't always find lectures important. With that being said all HW is done online and test are extremely easy to study for. As long as you get your work done you should pass with an A easily. He is hilarious to listen to and says thing purely for shock value. 10/10 recommend.
One of my favorite teachers in the College of Business. Must take for marketing 400.
Fallin is a funny guy. With that being said, his powerpoints are made by McGraw Hill Connect and they suck. If he wasn't such a comedian in class the lectures would be really long. His tests are all McGraw Hill Connect and suck even worse than the powerpoints. David Fallin A+ McGraw Hill Connect D-
Awesome guy, made going to the virtually useless lecture worth it. He does not cover everything in lecture. Used McGraw Hill Connect system, which wasted a lot of my time this semester.
McGraw was the only pain in the class, but besides that it's a great class. The tests aren't too bad, but with studying the lectures and reading the online book on McGraw Hill and thoroughly re-doing the McGraw Hill homework you should be fine.
Great guy, tries to learn everyone's names, and a funny guy. Homework every 2 weeks, even though it's really long it is easy. Everything you need is in the book, but go to the lectures. He gives occasional extra credit. Tests are SUPER thorough, so study it all.
He's a great teacher, but his tests are hard! He really cares about you, and if you are having a problem he will help you!! He really wants you to succeed! If you are looking for an easy A, this isn't it!
Dr. Fallin respects his students. Lectures are student-oriented and he tries to make things easy.
Professor Fallin has decided to no longer allow technology in class, yet lectures very quickly and doesn't post notes. His tests are based off small things he picks out of each chapter so if you don't go to class it is very unlikely you'll study the correct information.
Fallin is an awesome guy. Some of his jokes may be on the edgy side but nonetheless he's a fun guy to go to class and listen to. His classes are easy A's as well.
Fallin is a great guy and cares about his students. However I won't be taking any more classes from him because I don't believe the tests well reflect the lectures. I understand having to do outside work and learn more on your own. However, most times it isn't likely that even if you studied an infinite amount that you'd be fully prepared for tests
David is a very laid back professor. He really cares about his students and really cares about their grades. Have to be in class to get the notes because he doesn't post them online. Although, he is a good teacher he will try to trick you on his exams so be prepared for that.
The concepts in this class are so simple and the tests should not be difficult. HOWEVER, he uses the connect online tests instead of making up his own questions and the tests in no way reflect whether you know the concepts or not. They basically test whether or not you memorized the chapters word for word. Really frustrating. I don't recommend.
Extremely nice guy. His lectures don't really correspond with the tests the best so they are hard to study for. He gives a review but it's not super detailed. The actual test is made from the online textbook company. The material isn't difficult but the tests are kinda hard. The other prof (JJ) seemed to give less homework and more extra credit.
David is hilarious and wants to get to know his students as much as he can. His assignments every week are all through McGraw Hill and are not hard, and those assignments are mostly what you will be tested over. His lectures are worth going to because he is entertaining and expands more on things. Beware of his test though, they are hard.
If you want to just be lectured from the book then this is the class for you. 10/10 Never showed up the book was more helpful and that's all that he went off of
Fallin is great. His tests are pretty hard but McGraw Hill Connect helps out a lot with studying (Also, tests are only 60% and aren't cumulative). The homework is really easy are a good way to get easy points. Going to class will benefit you with the Tophat questions. I ended up getting extra credit because I went to class so often.
Fallin is a funny guy, makes lectures pretty engaging but his exams are way off from lectures. Here's how I did it and I scraped by w an A: Do the homework/reading assignments a few days before the test. This helped me on the test because the McGraw hill questions were similar to the exam.
I really liked having Prof. Fallin. He was super funny and approachable. Definitely go see him for office hours sometime if you have him. He cares a lot and knows that MKTG isn't the hardest class. He uses smartbook learn but it isn't bad. When we switched to online for corona, he didn't communicate much, but he adjusted the class to make it easier
Lectures were engaging. However, no matter how much I study for quizzes (3 every other Friday) it is never a guarantee that I will do well because they only show how well you can memorize a chapter. I studied the same amount for each one and my score ranged from 50%-100%, even though I felt like I understood every chapter equally.
He is my favorite teacher I have had at K-State.
Very funny guy. You don't have to go to class, but it helps so you understand the concepts. There are 2-3 quizzes every other Friday and there is a question bank so sometimes you get really easy questions and sometimes you get really hard ones. Pretty easy A if you do the homework and study for the quizzes. Also be ready for lots of book homework.
His quizzes are difficult however, if you go into his office hours he is very open to helping you. He helped me go from a 62 in the class to a 84. I have never seen a professor care this much about his students success. Will genuinely miss being in his class.
Professor Fallin is so funny. I loved his lectures because he made them relevant and also cracked a few jokes. The class required McGraw Hill which cost money and we did all of our assignments there. It's not hard to get a good grade if you complete the assignments. The quizzes are kinda tough given the questions are from the text.
There are no tests or final, only quizzes. He's funny and tries hard to make class interesting. Everything is on Mcgraw Hill and the book was very helpful. Easy concepts, easy class.
I liked David as a person he is funny and tells stories that help relate to the material he's teaching which helps. You can get by without going to class after the first several weeks. The only thing I didn't like is that the quizzes are hard because they are sometimes different than the material taught.
Overall, I enjoy Fallin. He is funny and makes the lectures as interesting as he can. However, everything is done through McGraw Hill. Honestly the entire exams are generated by mcgraw hill. He uses proctorio, and you can take them outside of class. Not my favorite class, but its not hard
Prof. Fallin is a great guy! He tries very hard to relate with his students and give them examples that they can understand. Cares about his students. Lots of Smartbooks. Prepare heavily for the second test, hardest test in the course by far. You do not need to go to his classes to finish the course with a good grade but its worth going in person.
First of all the concepts that he assigns are to say the least... ridiculous. His tests have nothing to do with the concepts that take forever to do. His tests are also extremely hard and your grade depends on the tests.
Tests are hard and make no sense. Lecture is pointless and none of the teaching is original.
Lectures are extremely boring and he just reads off slides so there is no point in going. He is always unprepared and you end up reading and doing the smart books 2-3 weeks before the test so good luck remembering everything. Tests are way harder than they should be which makes this class that should be an easy A an automatic B.
I clicked get ready to read not because he has required readings because pretty much whatever is in the book is free game. I mean anything.
overall prof fallin was a funny guy and gave some really good student examples. everything he says though, just remove from your mind and read the smartbooks. anything in the book is free game, and i mean anything. the chapters are long and the homework is due a little too early before the tests but you get used to it. tests are hard though
Don't read any other reviews. Don't take it with him, take it with JJ. His tests are so hard, and they are so influential on your grade. We have all done terribly, and he always blames it on us, our phones, and not us. Pick literally any, other, teacher.
Uses online site for assignments, but exam is completely different. Go to lectures, but most of the time it is review from reading the chapter. Not a well paced semester I had: Last two months lectures crammed too much info and my grade suffered. Studied on my own time and googled a lot. Friendly man & loves talking, but not the best professor.
David's lectures are not mandatory, but I would recommend you go to them. He is great to listen to and truly cares about his students. My favorite class to attend. It is test heavy, and the tests are kinda difficult, so make sure to study. The questions are from the book more so than from the lectures, so keep that in mind.
David is such a character when it comes to his lectures. He is an old man with old-man humor, and I love it, but it's hit or miss with some people. His tests are NOTHING like the lectures. If you have used McGraw Hill before, the main coursework is SmartBooks. I'd recommend going to the lecture but don't need to technically. Overall, he's alright!
Absolute DAWG of a teacher.
Professor Fallin is a great person, and he is absolutely hilarious. The only problem I had with his class is the fact that the exams are NOTHING like the material that is went over in class. Nonetheless, this class should be an easy B or better as long as you do the homework. The homework is easy but very time consuming.
super great guy, super easy concepts, his tests are crazy. study so freaking hard, use the recharges in the online textbook! some of the exam questions are so wildly unrelated to anything he lectured about, make sure you read the textbook and practice it!
So funny
Super nice guy. Lectures don't help with tests at all.
Do not take this professor for intro to marketing. His exams are nothing like the homework or lectures. My class average was 76% on the first exam and he congratulated us for having better scores than the past two semesters... exams are so heavily weighted the homework doesn't help raise your grade. It's ridiculous. Just avoid him if possible.
He is a very funny guy and loves to engage with students in class. If you are engaged in class and show up as much as possible you will learn more than if you just coasted along. The workload is not a lot whatsoever but lots a question that are on the tests are not in the workbooks or homework you have to be in the class to get some answers.
