He is extremely nice and always willing to help. The course is a bit hard, but the syllabus is written by the Spanish department, so it is out of his control, and he is very fair.

He's hilarious, incorporates celebrity gossip into lecture for fun and is extremely helpful in and out of class. he never talks down to you and always allows for a fun classroom environment. i learned a lot in his class and hope to have him for spanish 44!

I saw an ealier comment about him belittling people, may I just say that he never once, to me or any other class mate, was rude or belittling. He was very nice and always helped when asked. He used the book alot, but also had different ways of teaching. I hated spanish, but I thought he was a great teacher!!!

I took the intensive everyday Spanish 3 and 4 at 8am. If I took the class with any other professor I would not be able to do it. He does not give you the grade, but he teaches in a way I can really understand, I'm not good in foreign language and never have been, but I learned so much in his class! This man will make your lecture class interesting. He's one of the sweetest professors on campus. He will treat you like an individual if you go to him. He wants you to learn, so that being said, his classes are typically difficult, but not impossible to pass if you really try. He has a special place in heaven.

It is little tough, but very helpful

Spanish Literature obviously requires you to read, but writing the "Diario" is sweet and short, so it is possible! Dr. Faught is great at teaching concepts and make analyzing texts interesting with his funny personality! The more students participate, the more enjoyable the lecture is. Just make sure to read and you'll have a great time.

He's helpful and he wants you to know spanish versus memorizing it for the moment. He is lenient with his grading, but yes you do need to study.

Dr. Faught is a great Spanish teacher and does a good job of helping the student understand grammatical principles and correct ways of writing. He is hilarious and very much in tune with pop culture to keep the class fresh. Definitely recommend for a first time Spanish student.

Really great at covering the material. He focuses on making sure you retain the information and that you know how to use what you've learned. He gives quizzes a lot (they're usually your participation grade) and you'll use MySpanishLab a lot. The material can be difficult, but he always does his best to make sure you understand it.

Dr. Faught is a great and passionate professor who enjoys what he is teaching. However, if you aren't completely fluent in Spanish, you will have a tough time in this class. The textbook is a hard read and contains a LOT of information. Studying and attendance are a must or you get behind quickly.

Really enjoyed this class. You watch movies from many different cultures you do have to write papers on them but I found them fun. There is a lot of information you have to learn for the exams but if you study hard you will do well. Do your work all of it and on time, study for exams, and be on time to class. Do those things and you will pass.

Great Professor. I hope I can take him for 3 and 4. I did horrible in Spanish 1 and this class was a breeze. Just do the work. But he makes me want to study (which is amazing) He understands how college kids brains work. And The Spice Girls are a prevalent topic so be prepared.

This is the spanish teacher (other than schmidt) that I recommend. He will explain the lecture really well. Do not be late to class he gives quizzes at the beginning of class, if you're late you might not get a chance to even attempt the quiz. Overall good teacher and he is funny.

Dr. Faught is a great professor! He really cares about students and their success. He does however expect you to truly be learning the language, therefore some effort is definitely required. You have to pay attention in class and are often prompted to speak in class in spanish but no pressure, if you don't get it right Faught helps you through it.

He is an amazing teacher. I am taking the intensive Spanish I & II (meaning two courses with in one semester). He uses his life as a reference, its great. Always do the online homework, even if it's late. He takes it into consideration. Do not miss class. I look forward to DEFINITELY taking him next semester for the intensive Spanish III & IV.

There is no way I could have survived an 8wk everyday at 8am Spanish class unless I knew Dr. Faught was going to teach it. He made the class fun and interactive. Not at all a boring lecture. Great Teacher. If you take the 8 wk course don't fool yourself, there will be homework everyday and you will have to study, but it's worth it.

Not as easy as the previous 2 classes (1301 & 1302) I have taken from Dr. Faught. All have been the intensive 8 wk courses, but I will hold accountability for myself and say that I've had a lot on my plate outside of class and did not give the tougher subject matter enough study time. I got an A but it could have been less stressful for myself.

Could not imagine taking spanish with anyone else. Lots of homework, but do it, its 25% of the grade an easy. Makes students accountable, near daily quizzes over reviewed material, makes you learn your stuff and come to class prepared. Makes you read, take oral and written exams, so be prepared. Tests are manageable with good notes and studying.

I had Dr Faught for an 8am everyday of the week and it was great! The work was hard and there was a lot of studying but the class was very interactive and most mornings I didn't mind waking up to go. He's funny and engaging and I will definitely be taking him again as soon as I can.

Had him for an 8am m-f 1301 1302. Definitely makes waking up that early worth it. Has quizzes pretty much every class so be prepared, but if you study they are easy. David Fraught is an amazing professor. He is super funny and relates everything to what is going on in the world so you can relate and learn. He does give you lots of quizzes but if you study the night before or right before class you'll pass. Plus he gives a lot of extra credit and he also drops 7 lowest quiz grades. Overall Spanish 4 is a hard class to take, however; this profesor teaches not only from the book, but uses his own material for the information to make more sense. Great professor, teaches you what you need to know, not all the stuff you dont need to know. Most Spanish professors do that. Hes straight to the point and will explain things if you dont understand. He makes class fun, tells a lot of jokes. So if youre a sensitive person dont take him. Small daily quizzes, but drops some. Go to class.

After taking him for Spanish 1301, he is my new favorite professor. I took his 8-week class and it was quick but he always lets you know how you can get an A. There were lots of quizzes, but he always tells you exactly what they will be over the day before. One day, I didnt wake up for an exam and he called me to make sure I came. HE IS THE BEST!

It will definitely help! & this class is centered around speaking in SPANISH out loud in class. & the whole class is only in SPANISH

This was the greatest Spanish professor I've had in 4 semesters of Spanish, he made things fun and enjoyable and was always there to help when needed. He gave good feedback and was hilarious and fun to listen to.

Best spanish Professor ever

My favorite professor! He is very funny. Be sure you get your book because you will use it everyday. I just finished his spanish 1 class and am about to take him for spanish 2. This is my favorite it class. You will have a quiz every day so you have to put in the work. Having those quizzes makes it so much easier to prepare for the exams.

He is very fun and hip and although he may give you a lot of work it is fun activities you can enjoy with a group.

Honestly he's great, super helpful outside of class and easy to reach. He gives daily quizzes though, which is awful. I would say take him over anyone else.

Amazing professor. He's 5 stars for a reason. Be ready to do a lot of online homework though, thats the biggest downfall, but hes a super lenient grader and usually if he sees you're trying he'll give you a good grade

Faughts is a fun and engaging professor who keeps you on your toes with daily quizzes. While the workload can be heavy, he's a fair grader. Using tools like Unstuck study alongside the textbook helps manage the pace.

Amazing, so engaging and hilarious. Dr.faught is also really kind and approachable looove his class and I don't know literally anyone who takes Spanish that doesn't want to be have him as their professor
