ok, this guy, i mean he will give you quizzes every day, you are supposed to read the chapters in advance, Very easy quizzes. He deosn;t grade lab. He is very pppunctual. I mena he gives homework, and he won;t take late homework, not even 1 min.
His main interest is that you learn the subject matter. His constant scribbling on the board, and bouncing around the room is bound to spark interest... even in a passer-by.
This is a fun teacher who makes Physics interesting. However, there's too much scribbling on the board and it is easy to feel lost in his lecture. It would be great if he gives handouts and be a little organized
Very good teacher. Very concerned about how well his students learn the material. Always willing to help you understand and clarify concepts. Tests are straightforward, usually conceptual. For those of you who aren't scientificly inclined, he's your guy.
This guy wants to make you understand what he is teaching regardless of where you stand in his class. He will not be the one failing you, it will be yourself if you flunk his class. STUDY FOR HIS TESTS! His tests are what make or break you!

He is very interesting. He does a lot of in class mini experiments. he grades the homework pretty hard. His test are not easy. there are reading quizes every day but they are very easy. even if you just look over the chapter you will do fine. DONT MISS CLASS!
Dr. Dave is the best teacher I've ever had. He teaches well, does experiments in class, and answers questions as well as he can. And, he doesn't think he's the smartest person on the planet. His tests are well written and if you screw up it is mostly your fault. Simply awesome.
worst teacher ever bad, bad, bad. likes to make fun of you and wants you to know all he knows in a few weeks, when it took him years to learn.
Very BAD BAD BAD teacher. He gives a pop quiz every day and expects your homework to be 100% perfect. His tests are really hard and good luck with those endless lab classes. He was suck a jerk when it came to grades too. Not very good at explaining the lessons.

class was very fast paced, requires a devotion to the class.
I thought this class was pretty easy...but I also took physics as a senior in highschool...so this class pretty much was just a review of the stuff that i learned the previous year. Fazzini is a overall a good teacher and his class is never too boring!
good teacher.
Dr Fazzini challenges you to think. He will not just give you an answer. He helps you to derive the answer on your own so that you learn. He is mostly about you learning the subject.
kinda hard...but nothing too bad...long labs though and lectures were sometimes boring...however he did try to make class more interesting most of the time!
Hard class. 3 hr. labs, makes sure you're there for 3 hrs, lots of questions to answer. Test are hard. Hw also hard. Quiz on every chapter but they are easy. He's always available for help and encourges you to come to him. Class intresting w/ demonstrations he shows you.
entertaining and sarcastic. lab sometimes tedious. contrary to other professors i've had at cod, he has interest in making sure his students learn the material. extremely helpful outside of class. offers a fair amount of extra credit. if he's condescending your either lazy or sensitive. give this guy your attention and respect.
summer 08 16 weeks crammed into 5. final 24%, 3 exams 12% each, lab 15%, online pre-reading 10%, quizzes 5%, online problem sets 10% are HARD, and take hours even when staying after class with help from peers and prof. reading hw is pointless and you are lucky to get a 65% avg on them. hard grader. makes you work at questions, never gives u answer
Dr. Fazinni really cares about the students and helping them out. Yet, when it comes down to the tests WATCH OUT! 75% of the study guide is not even on the tests, and the ?'s are "re-worded" in his own words...so its confusing comparing the definitions you have the from the text and notes. Homework is HARD, alot of e.c,class needs to be re-formatte
He is a really good teacher. He tries to clear everything out as much as possible.
Great teacher! Very helpful! I've learned quite a bit of useful knowledge in his class. The homework was very time-consuming but helped me quite a bit. The tests were slightly difficult. The labs can be boring since you are there for around three hours.
Dr. Fazzini is an excellent teacher for physics. He's into the subject, takes interest in the students, challenging but not too hard.
Dr. Fazzini is a good teacher, he is very helpful The tests are hard but if you pay attention, take notes and READ THE BOOK and ask for help when you need it you can do it. homework is very hard. and labs are very long, but if you study your labs they help on tests. almost everything is graded equally so dont slack.
Excellent teacher. EYERYONE should take this class!
So hard, and kind of a jerk. Everything was extremely hard and jam-packed and he had no sympathy whatsoever. Do not take this class if you struggle with physics. He was clear in explanations, however, but he is not very approachable.
Dr. Fazzini's explanations are very clear and useful. He is not an easy grader; you would probably get(the grade) that you deserve, that's my opinion. He is very energetic and hardworking person, I learned a lot in his class. The course was really challenging for me over the summer, but it was worth it. Thanks for reading.
Phys 2 is hard. As difficult as it is, Fazzini really helped to learn the material. Do the required work or you will fall behind and have a very difficult time catching up. It takes a little bit of time before you catch on to his teaching style and questions, but once you do, you'll be fine. Do the reading homework before class too.
He covers the material well, but there is a lot of reading and homework. Fazzini does amazing demonstrations, including laying on a nail studded board with another nail studded board on top of him and having another teacher smash a cement block with a sledgehammer on top the board. Seriously, you have to take it anyway take it with him.
Fazzini is by far one of the best teachers for Physics. He is excited and keeps you interested without droning on in lecture. He has a few rules which he is particular on, but outside of that he is easy to talk to, understand, and approach for help. Highly recommend for Calc. based Physics I, II and III.
Warning:If you want an unreal workload in lab, a confusing, relentless and dubious online HW website(self teach yourself), reading quizzes two days a week, EXAMS x3 plus a final on everything, then by all means knock yourself out and prepare to have no life for 16 weeks and get a hard C. Seriously, his class is equivalent to 3 others simultaneously
The best professor in the entire college if you ask me. Very clear and dynamic lectures. Labs can be a pain, so when in doubt ask questions. Readings daily, they aren't so bad. Whenever something is not clear, SEE HIM. He's super approachable and will help. Physics is not easy, but not hard either. Study and you'll be fine.
Fazzini is a fantastic professor and I recommend him to everyone. He is passionate about physics, and is an extremely talented teacher. I took two upper level physics courses with him and enjoyed them immensely.
Best Physics Teacher on the whole campus!! He is very talented in teaching! He makes sure you understand the concept and is extremely helpful when you ask for help. His exams are also fair!! If you do the homework you will have no problems acing the exams!! I RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU ARE AN ENGINEERING MAJOR TRUST ME!!
i think fazzini teaches physics at a deeper level than carter. i was anxious about taking him after reading some of the reviews on here, but i was pleasantly surprised. one thing though, his quizzes are hard as steel. dont be shocked if you pull Ds on all of them. but they are not unreasonable, just deep conceptual understanding is needed
Fazzini means well and is very passionate, but the class is extremely difficult. If you are having trouble he is very approachable, but the online homework is a completely different story. The webassigns are extremely stressful and make you want to rip your hair out. I would not suggest this if you haven't had any prior physics experience.
Dr. Fazzini is an enthusiastic teacher and obviously loves the subject he teaches. The homework and tests are the hardest to get above a C with. Expect to have to work hard for the grade that you want. He's not a terrible teacher, he just wants you to understand the material.
Dr. Faz is the man. I got well below 70% in the class but due to my efforts and attendance I ended up receiving a C in his class. He's a great professor I just wasn't interested in the subject. Physics is a nightmare for me. All in all, as a teacher he's great. As far as easiness, not the easiest class to say the least.
Dr F definitely loves what he teaches and tries to make his lectures as interesting as possible. His class however was difficult and you should be prepared to dedicate an incredible amount of time to pass.I had to put more time into this class than calculus. Every lab and quiz counts. Homework is difficult.
5 week summer course with Dr. Fazzini was tough but very doable. Online homework every night, labs for two days, and lecture for almost 3 hours for four straight days. But Dr. Fazzini is very smart and explains topics nicely. If you have never had physics, it might be hard to take the course in 5 weeks. Dr. Faziini is the one to take physics with!
Super smart guy. His love for physics is inspirational, but he can be a very tough grader. He makes you work very hard, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in a tough subject like physics. His tests are really hard, but he gives plenty of extra credit. Bottom line: if you work hard, you will be fine. If you're a slacker, you won't pass.
Truly fantastic professor. By far the most organized, prepared for, and well executed course I have ever taken. Any negative feedback comes from students still expecting to be spoon fed knowledge. If you take Fazzini, know that you'll have to work - but it's worth it.
If you already have a busy class load DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Physics is not tough but there is so much information that its difficult to absorb all of it. Unless this is your only class or you are taking one other i would not reccomend taking it. Most of this class is self-taught. Dr. Fazzini is awesome but spend most of the time doing experiments
Dr. Fazzini was awesome, but the class was tough. I took his class in a 5 week summer course. We had 6 quizzes, 9 labs, a week worth of homework everyday, 2 tests and 1 final. The class is doable if you eat and sleep physics for 5 weeks. He is always there to help.
This guy right here is probably the best in the physics department, im sure carter is good as well but if your major requires you to know physics take this guy. He will push you, he might seem like an a hole but hes an a hole for a good reason. I might not be doing too well in his class but thats my fault for not trying hard enough.
Alright I HATED Physics in high school, but this was my best bet in taking a class because I figured "hey I might do better the second time around". This class was not easy, but you do learn a lot of stuff. He will expect you to keep up by reading and taking good notes. He is there for you if you need help.I asked him for help, and ended up with a B
Absolutely amazing professor. He's a SUPER tough grader, but he gives you the information and support to justify it. Is one of the most passionate people I've ever met about physics (and about Star Trek). One of the best classes I've ever had. P.S. Make sure you do your labs well. He's someone who actually reads them.
He is kind to others but the Test are very tough, don't take with him, he expect homework. No study guides nothing u need to learn everything from textbook.
By far best teacher at COD. You will learn physics with him guaranteed if you put effort and do your work. He's a really nice guy and wants you to succeed. He's very clear on what he wants from you. You will struggle in his class but in the end you'll be ok with your grade, trust me.
Dr. Fazzini is one of the best professors I have taken at the College of DuPage. He has a deep understanding for the material and a great passion for Physics. His lectures are interesting and very informational; he doesn't just teach out of the book. Really cares a lot about his students and is there to help you succeed.
The lectures didn't match the homework or quizzes/tests. Dr. Fazzini was often 3 days behind what was on the homework and quizzes. He required a very specific email subject line before he would even read my email request for help, and he did not take walk-ins during office hours. Very difficult class and impossible prof.
As long as you do all the homework, go to lab, and come to class everyday then there is no way that you wont get at least a B. Dr. Fazzini has office hours for any questions that you might have. The subject is very hard and you have to study a lot if you want an A and do all the homework.
Great style of teaching if you stay on top of things and attend class. Frequent short quizzes that really make you do the reading which is a good thing because there is a lot of material. Offers EC on tests and labs. Labs are easy and never got below 90. Homework is difficult because he does not go in depth on how to solve problems with numbers.
TERRIBLE professor, the online homework was never the same as what was taught in class. Tests are insanely hard and quizzes every week or so. Writes his notes on the board off of a paper he looks at during class. Grades super strict, even marks off points if your predictions are wrong. Refuses to give back points even if you're right. DONT TAKE HIM!
I had Dr. Fazzini in his Physics 2111 5 week summer course and overall, he is a good lecturer. Tests are difficult and he grades the labs very strictly. He is helpful in his office hours
Grades the labs a bit too harshly and is a bit too thorough on his derivations of various physical equations. Could have spent that time showing us how to use those equations, which is what we're actually graded on. The five week summer course is very difficult: you will not do well if you're doing anything else in your life at the same time.
Tough grader. Skips all over the chapters and tests on things not yet covered.
Okay, yes he grades you pretty harshly. Yes, he expects a lot from you. This isn't highschool anymore. He is going to push you and I would expect nothing less. He has designed his course to have 10% overall extra credit, including on the tests. He is ALWAYS available. Go see him if you need help. Seriously, you show up, do the work, and you'll pass
took 5 week course, hardest class I've taken. While he is a good lecturer, the homework didn't match what we learned in lecture, which makes it hard to reinforce what's learned in class. He is a tough grader, and the exams are extremely difficult. If you have other commitments outside of class, I'd avoid--nightly homework takes hours
This professor tries to make his class interesting and is genuinely passionate about what he does. He takes himself and his role too seriously and treats his adult students like children He makes no accommodations as far as missed class (cant take quizzes in advanced) and the workload is severe. Expect 15+ hours of work weekly for 1100 and no life
Didnt understand anything he was teaching. The tests were really hard and the quizzes are easy if you read the book. Lab was okay if you have a very good partner
WORST PROFESSOR EVER!! If you're one second late to lab- homework is an automatic percentage off. If you're late to lecture- you cannot take the quiz. I have never met a professor who has taken a course so extreme especially at a community college. homework has nothing to do with the course & Tests are SUPER HARD!!!!
If you are engineering student and you really wanna understand physics, he is right one. The test is little bit hard as others said, but he gives you bunch of practice exam which guarantee you an A if you study them. Also, every test have extra 10% credit you can earn, even in final exam, and it will boost your grade up. No quiz make up tho.
Explains chapter very briefly and then expects you to do all the homework based off the little instruction he gives you. Barley gives you time for the quizzes. we read the chapter and he literally goes over book examples which doesn't help. Tough grader on tests and lab work. Over all decent guy but work load is unreasonable
By far one of the most unreasonable teachers. If you want a boat load of work join the class. test heavy and super hard grader. He reads every little answer and marks off for units. Basic but dumb!
I enjoyed his class. He's enthusiastic about the material and he seems to enjoy teaching as well. Clear explanations. Read. Read. Read. He is a stickler about due times, and units. Others are complaining but they just must lack discipline. Like anything else in life, if you care and work hard, you'll be fine. One of the best profs I've had.
Avoid unless you are good at Physics in general. I struggled so bad because he assumes you know everything already before entering the class. Only thing good about his class is that he will try to help you but only if you prove that you at least tried, if you just ask him for general help; he will roast you!
Great professor. Very knowledgeable and makes the class as easy as possible. Physics is a tough subject, but him in conjunction with YouTube videos and self-study will help. He talked about a physicist by the name of Brian Greene, and that opened my eyes to the vast universe and laws of nature.
Professor Fazzini was very knowledgeable about physics and a great teacher. There was a lot of homework, labs, quizzes, & material to memorize for exams, which was stressful, but Fazzini made it easier by using those to balance out exam grades, and by giving extra credit and being very available through office hours (10 hours a week!).
The format involves a lot of online homework, but most of grade was high 3 high difficulty exams. It's possible to pass with D+ test grades (near average) if you get good grades on labs, homework, and weekly conceptual quizzes. Fazzini was accommodating and nice to us, but sometimes gave dense lectures that need a lot of time at home to break down.
If you want no life, take this class
Physics is a very tough subject, but Dr. Fazzini is very caring to his students and always willing to help those struggling, so be sure to take advantage of his office hours. The lectures were amazing as well. You can tell he's very passionate about his teaching. He'll even curve one grade on a failed exam if you do well on the final.
Physics is a tough subject. He's passionate about it and it shows in his lectures and accessibility outside of class. He is firm with expectations and deadlines. It's a class you must be on top of. Do not miss lecture. You must read. Seek help. He wants you to succeed. All around great professor and person. If you're a serious student, take him.
Great professor, easy class. He answers all questions and his lectures are interesting, he is very helpful during labs. I never went to his office hour to ask any questions. Btw, people thought I worked hard in this class but I got an A while spending all my time playing video games.
While this professor is passionate about the topic, he is a tough grader and gives out a lot of homework. If you want no life outside of school, I would recommend this course. I spent hours doing assignments for this course and Dr. F made it difficult to find needed info. He is particularly harsh in general and also about due dates and attendance.
Took him for the 5 week summer course. A very tough instructor and assigns too much work at a time. He is also a very tough grader and is very particular about deadlines too. In fact he takes off points for showing up late on lab days and submitting the pre labs
Physics 2112 is a tough course, and I got a lot of help from Patti (
Horrible. Lab days you spend 3 hours doing a 20 page project in which you have to prepare a pre-lab homework for and also a 10 page homework assignment due for next week which is repeated every week. Takes off points if you're late 5 minutes to a lab. Goes extremely fast and if you're confused his answer is "go to the learning commons and get help"
Labs were difficult because of his tough grading. Homework is completion points and he gives you extra credit, which was helpful. The class is based on 2 exams and a final, with an exam replacement. Make sure you study since the exams are UIUC based. A good professor if you don't have any other options.
Kept misgendering me and dead-naming me then didn't apologize. Doesn't give you any opportunities to make up assignments if you missed a day. If you are literally 1 minute late, he takes off points or doesn't let you submit assignments. Quiz nearly every lecture day. Average of 2 hours of homework a day if you go fast.
Mr. Fazzini was a great teacher and is passionate about what he does. The labs arent hard at all just time consuming. There is a short quiz on textbook chapteres pretty much every day which can get annoying.
Prof. Fazzini is extremely passionate about his physics work. He will give you around 2-4 hours of homework a week depending on how well you know the material. Fazzini gives absolutely no leeway or forgiveness for assignments turned in late, he allows late passes on MyOpenMath for 50%. On first day says “i'm not here to teach you, but guide you”
Dr. Fazzini is a great professor who truly cares, but the class is very demanding in terms of work. Each week, you'll do a prelab, lab packet, lab homework, online homework with multiple-choice questions, and a quiz on the chapter reading. Don't be late! Plenty of extra credit. There are three exams, including the final, and he takes your best two.
Do not take this 5 week course, he is a very smart and capable professor, but this class is too material dense to be taken in such a short period of time, it is incredibly difficult to follow much of what he teaches in lectures.
Nice Professor, however is a very tough grader. Pop quizzes almost every class day. Doesn't allow retakes/revisions.
Although he's a very nice person. The lectures simply were too advanced for a 101 course, many people had trouble and there was very few moments for questions. Safe to say 70% of my class ended up withdrawing before the final date where you no longer could after the first exam. He seems very passionate about the topic, but doesn't know to simplify.
You can tell he's passionate about physics and teaching. The course is demanding, and you have to be ready to put in the effort to succeed. Visit his office hours and ask questions; he's available and ready. My only complaint is that his lectures don't exactly line up with the exams he gives (they're from UIUC). Practice UIUC questions ASAP!
