Took him for lab. As long as you do all the reading and know what your doing, the class is smooth and you get to leave once the lab is done. He's very understanding and very helpful; the labs get a little difficult but you need to understand your lecture class because he won't explain that there and if he does then it will be a longer class.
He is the reason i still care about science. He encourages you to ask questions. You can't fail this guys class. He'll work with you and hes approachable. Very knowledgeable. Explains problems upon request. No snarky comments, no condescending tone, no making you feel stupid for not understanding. Do homework and PAY ATTENTION to the pactice tests
the guy knows a lot. but it looked like it was his first semester teaching, so after he fail the class he realized how to deal with student. He makes you think. but it is a shame he cant teach. he really knows a lot.
well this teacher he is ok but he does not know how to explain and he give you a review for the test thats about 300 questions dont take him for class but for lab he is great take some1 else for the class
He is a great teacher! He takes his time explaining the material. He offers tutoring in his office and has alot of patience. If you study the study guide (which he post online from day 1 for all test) you will get an A on his exams. Remember, Chemistry in general is hard it has it`s own language, you have to study and actually put some effort.
AMAZING professor! Always helped the class, did everything possible to help every student pass. Really cares about his students. AND it is a hard class, but then again it is chemistry; best professor for this subject!
Very clear, concise, cordial teacher. He is more than fair and will work with students on an individual basis to help you pass the class using every resource possible. I cant believe how patient he is w/ Miami students considering how weak we generally are in math&sciences but I did complete the course learning the material and actually liking it.
he is knows his subject but he cant teach. do not reccomend him at all.
He doesnt teach at all. only reads from power point. you have to study by yourself. HE is sarcastic and mean with some students when they ask questions.
HE KNOWS HIS MATERIAL. THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. HOWEVER, HE CAN NOT TEACH. HE ASSUMES THAT YOU KNOW EVERYTHING. HE THINKS THAT YOU WILL LEARN EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF READING THE CHM BOOK. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LEARN CHM WITHOUT SOMEONE TO GUIDE YOU. WHEN YOU ASK HIM A QUESTION, HE ANSZWER WITH ANOTHER LIKE, DONT YOU READ THE BOOK. DONT YOU THINK.
I had him for lab, and he is very nice and easy to deal with. The final was easy.
not an easy A. but if you study a lot, you can get an A. trick exams.
I think the negative comments are coming from students who are not strong in math or those with the typical Miami Dade mentality. Chemistry isn't easy and if you don't put the effort into it, don't expect an easy A. He tried to accommodate the class by giving open book tests but ppl still bombed because they didn't do the footwork.
the problem is he should explain and do examples of the problems on the board, it would be extremely helpful, especially if you are a visual person. Also, he could be more approachable because students don't feel comfortable to ask him questions. he is a knowledgeable person and can be a better professor.
At first I was willing to give him a chance & try to understand. He's just NOT a good teacher! When you ask questions he answers you with a "what do you think" attitude. I was passing the class with a C but knew nothing. The only information i knew was from my previous chemistry class (CHM1025) in which I got an A & even passed an exam with 100%.
Don't get this professor. He doesnt know how to teach, he comes in assuming that cause we read a couple slides that we should automatically know how to solve every problem. & if you ask him questions he makes you feel stupid. He gives super long easy study guides, then completely different trick question exams. hard worksheets BEFORE lessons taught
Professor finneran is very helpful. His chm1045l class is very fun. Overall he likes for his students to asks questions instead of him going over slides for lecture. And yes just review the study guide and you will be ok. The class is a breeze if u study
Professor will help upon request. If you do not like doing practice questions and going to his office hours then this class is not for you. You MUST study. What chemistry class is easy? Overall I think the class is easy
I took Organic Lab with him. He is very helpful. Organic is not an easy subject, so he expects the student to study. Also, he wants a well written report. He will help you as much as possible.
DR. FINNERAN IS AN AMAZING TEACHER. HE IS EXCELLENT AT EXPLAINING THE INFORMATION AND COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDS THE SUBJECT MATTER. HE IS CLEAR AND ALWAYS MAKES TIME TO HELP STUDENTS. ALL HIS TESTS AND WORKSHEETS HAVE EXTRA CREDIT.
He knows the subject very well. Expects you to study and be prepared. He is always very helpful!!!!
This guy definitely knows what he's talking about but he goes too quickly over the power point slides and you get an idea but is impossible to master the material at that pace. He assumes you already kinda know the material and his tests are different from what you see in the lectures; that really makes the class harder. He's good though.
he is the best proffessor ever...he is very helpful and nice
Great teacher. 4 exams and a final plus 4 worksheets to boost up your grade in the class. very helpful. class isnt mandatory but the book is(it is VERY helpful). if you miss a day you can just read the book to catch up with the rest of the class. passed it with an A
extremely hard professor... took him for chm1046 during the summer... he flew through the powerpoints. the test average for the class was %50. half of the students dropped the class uncluding myself... u ll study ur butt off and still fail his chm1046 tests... they re brutal.
I can't complain about Finneran, very down to earth and lax, his tests are a little hard but with some studying you can pass. Really doesn't get into your business, very professional, would def. take him again.
OCE 1001 online, hard and stressful.60% of grade two proctored exams no study guide. He claims he will drop grades but my calss gpa did not change got a D. No extra credit. Stay away!!!
Super nice, just don't be stupid and whiney. He don't play that! Extremely sarcastic but its fun for the rest of us. Textbook is helpful, he does examples from them and some of the test questions are from there. He's HOT! lol great teacher though makes you want to come to class.
Must study diligently if you expect to earn a good grade. But, if you are having trouble, he will definitely help you. He is also very HOT!!! It's hard to stay focus. The blue eyes and dimples will get you.
Took him online. Thought it would be a easy class as its a Intro class but wasnt. Your mid term and final count 30% each so 60% of your grade depend on them and theres no review except all the reviews you have completed and for me that did not help on the final. Its not the hardest class but theres HW and quizes every week. You need to commit.
The professor is condescending, arrogant & not helpful. Students are timid about asking questions, b/c he is extremely sarcastic when responding to questions. I received better explanations and clarification on YouTube's Isaac teaches & khan academy then I received in class, with a lot less attitude.
He knows his stuff. Extra credit problems on test; drops lowest. Gives helpful resources on ANGEL. Key to passing: Study (i.e. prepare to teach yourself with a book)& practice MANY problems. If you can't put in the time, don't take CHM, you'll struggle unless you're a genius, TRUST! Take 1025 before, worth the extra semester. I got an A. Great Prof
Lecture's are very engaging. Highly recommend this guy. Just be serious coming into this class. Its not an easy A but you will learn. How to pass Finnerans class with an A 1. Take notes 2. Be active during class periods 3. Study at least an hour everyday from your book 4. Try to enjoy the subject. After all you are learning about your universe
A great professor! If you're a sensitive person and lack a sense of humor his sarcasm will bother you. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and is available to assit you if you need help. The people who complain about him just didn't dedicate theirselves to studying because that's the only way you'll pass!
Well well well finneran is a good teacher but does not teach you have to READ the BOOK . Go to pltl or stem lab if you don't understand don't wait till last minute plus do the worksheets they'll add up at the end anyways good luck on taking him
he knows hes matrial very well but does not know how to teach good luck taking him.
This is coming from a hard working student that passed: He will not be easy!!! He is also very sarcastic and laughs at people, which i think is sometimes uncalled for and rude. Be prepared to do some self-studying during the course as his teaching style is not the best. If you can find a better teacher go for it because chemistry is not easy!
Dude is a nice guy.. I passed thee class, BUT his exams are ridiculous! You never have enough time to check your work. He's sarcastic and rude at times. He knows the material very well, but sure CAN'T TEACH IT.. RUN AWAY.. VERY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!
A very fast and bright mind, I am glad I passed. I knew what was coming when I saw the average grades of students. Anyway I am glad it's over.
It was a very hard class. I think Dr. Finneran did what he could to teach us all chapters in the syllabus. He is one of the most helpful professors on campus and fully aware of the complexity of the topics.
Finneran is a nice guy. Sarcastic but nothing mean. For the lab, everything is on ANGEL so buy the manual. He is picky about certain things when grading reports so make sure you make the correction the next time. He explains the procedure well and goes around the room to make sure you are doing okay. Final is theory and experiment. Nothing hard.
Great professor will really get you out of your shell and teach you the what you need to know for the next chemistry level. Good luck and read your text book
If you're the type that believes that by not studying you will pass don't take him.If you want to truly learn/become a self motivated, independent student(which is what college is about)TAKE HIM.You must dedicate a reasonable amount of time to get an A in this class. He is very helpful,& one of the greatest/ most knowledgeable teachers at MDC.
Took this class online and this professor is amazing. He is great about answering his emails, give you multiple opportunities to receive a good grade and extremely helpful. If you can, take him because the class is a breeze.
I took this class online, super easy. He answers email in a timely manner. Give you a lot of opportunity to turn in work late. quizzes are easy, test are exactly like the quiz. I really recommend him if you want to boost your gpa.
Professor Finneran is on top of his students and is constantly giving you feedback on how you are doing in class. I took OCE1001 online with him and you basically need to review the quizzes and practice tests that he gives you to pass his midterm and final (60% of your grade). If you do this, trust me, you'll pass.
Prof Finneran is always there to help out. He IS a hard grader and his tests are very fair. The material is hard also so watch out for that. You gotta be prepared for the class.
Read before class. Do practice problems. Understand the concepts as well as the math involved. He has practice tests on blackboard among other useful tools to better your studying. 3 extra credit assignments for a total of 25 points. He is very fair and keeps you posted on your progress.
This professor is very understanding and allowed me to turn in an assignment late. He is readily available if you email him with questions, anything you don't understand he'll clear it up. Didn't particularly care much for the subject but I did walk away with something learned. I would recommend him.
Amazing Professor! I took him online and I actually missed the final exam and he allowed me to make it up ! Gives feedback on homework assignments! Ended with an A but it wasn't easy!!! If you work hard it'll be a breeze.
Respond your email fast and helpful feedback. Really easy . Answers for quizzes on internet. I really study (A LOT) for his midterm and got an A but I realized that most of the midterm questions are from quizzes. Helpful and understandable professor. Very well organized class. Will give you 1 hwk for each chapter. Read the chapter before doing hwk
Must read the sections before class, must ask questions, must do practice excersises, must conplete the pratice exams. Tough but awesome. Helpful and a smartass. Challenging. Entertaining. You will learn. 3 exams. First is the toughest. People will drop this class.
Awesome! his teaching style will def make you fall in love with chemistry as he does not simply lecture power points but goes over the material in an engaging and funny way. Just make sure you skim each chapter bfore class, and take your time to reread after class. You'll def learn A LOT. GO OVER THE SYLLABUS AT LEAST TWICE . SEEK HELP HE'S HELPFUL
I took this class in 6 weeks & it was my 2nd time taking the course. He was very helpful and clarified some sketchy concepts I didn't catch the previous semester but do not be fooled- I studied EVERYDAY for HOURS and I still struggled because chemistry isn't my forte. Great Professor though and always in his office for help. Show effort!
Very good. Strongly recommended specially for chm1045 lab, you won't regret it.
Keep yourself very far away from him. He knows his Chemistry really well, but dont know how to teach. No extra credit, no reviews and not sympathy for your efforts. Be prepared to be on your own; dont even bother to go to his class if you decide to take him, It will make no difference if only it wasnt for your attendance.
If you are taking Finneran, please make a commitment to succeed, make good use of all resources available to you(Himself, tutoring lab, stem, pltl). He may be intimidating at first , but you're gonna be just fine! GO TO HIS OFFICE WHEN NEEDED. Believe me, he's really there for you! I struggled but did good bcuz he helped me A LOT.
Incredibly condescending professor. It's very clear that he knows the material and what he's talking about but he does not know how to teach. He expects you to come into class already knowing everything he's about to go over. Only take him if you're okay with teaching yourself.
Great professor, I'd definitely take him again, get ready to study, it is chemistry, dont expect it to be easy, but he will always be there for you. His lectures are amazing, if you wanna learn, take him, you wont regret it.
this class is for advanced students if you are not good at it don't take it. you won't pass. you have to spend a lot of time study by your own he knows the material but i dont recommend him
Quizzes and tests are pretty tough, I won't lie. I struggled a little. I took this course online, so I had a couple other "resources" I could use... There is one homework assignment for every chapter. They can be pretty confusing, but reading the chapter is helpful. My advice is to STUDY for the Midterm, its proctored. Final is not.
Great teacher, down to earth and great lectures with good videos to get you to really understand the material. A lot of reading, but no assignments, if you fail it's because you didn't read. I would take him again!!!
Expects you to know the class material. Not Good at teaching, even though he know whats he's talking about
Finneran is tough, he's smart and teaches well, but his class is hell. You gotta study a ton and work hard. His exams are tricky but he lets you practice with his old ones. Very little extra credit. However, he's understanding when you reach out to him. Visit his office hours and don't be afraid to ask questions in class if you don't understand.
Professor Finneran is a great Professor who really cares about his students . I took him last semester for Oceanography and his HW was interested ,he always gave us feedback and gave us extra credit. He is such an Amazing teacher and I would take his class again because he cares for the students and offer extra credit.
Just don't take him
60 percent of his class fail, 60%!!Just don't take him, his quizzes are just stupid hard, you can study so much but there is not way to pass this. No mercy, Always trying to teach you LIFE lessons. Do you really want to learn chem? So many people keep failing his class but he thinks that he has done enough to help them(excuses).
He's not a good teacher. When you ask him a question he just shows you the quick work but doesn't explain it. The lectures are fast and you think you may know it by studying and reading the book. Unfortunately, doing textbook problems and reading isn't enough to past his hard exams. His "reviews" are nothing like the actual exam you may take.
If you have any questions you can always go to his office hours and he will help you. He is nice and very smart; he knows the material. HOWEVER, reading the book and doing all the problems are not enough. He is a tough grader and his exams are SUPER DIFFICULT. ALMOST ALL THE CLASS FAILED!!! If you are VERY GOOD at chemistry, then take him.
This professor is beyond helpful. A lot of homework, but it is an online course. He answers your emails, unlike some online teacher... and he will help you get that A with extra credit.
Super difficult professor. Worst professor ever. Do not take him
trust me don't take him for chem. I love chem and really enjoy learning it but this dude just gives u ridiculously tricky tests. in my class 70 % did not pass. he only bases your final grade on 3 tests and the final. his excuse is that he is giving us real life problems.
Dr. Finneran is a great guy. He's there for you. Complaining in class about his exams isn't going to get you anywhere. If you prepare for his exams properly with enough effort you'll do good. Go to his office hours, work on problems with him.. PUT EFFORT. He's funny and he's real. He's also fair. Chemistry is tough but so is a 4 year university..
This professor is legit, he's the most accessible instructor I've ever had. If you have a question he answers it and he works problems out with you. He tells you what you need to do to pass his class and he post his previous exams online so you're not surprised come test time. He's really heavy on the lecture though so read the section before hand
Makes you work for it..... he's the type of teacher everyone needs here at Miami Dade College. Tough class but so is everything else you're going to come across.
Best professor ever. Explained everything super clearly. Always respectful and willing to answers any questions you might have. Very fair grader. Took him for lab, wish I had taken him for lecture as well. Loved his class.
Just no... A lot of my classmates had to withdraw including me .. Take someone else
Great professor, excellent lectures, I would take him in the future
first class i ever failed. Cannot describe how bad my experience was with him
I took him online for oceanography and it was the easiest class I've ever taken. One easy homework, and one easy quiz every week. A midterm and a final. Midterm proctored, final not proctored. Easiest A you could ever ask for. If you turn in the homework early he gives you extra points.
Just don't take him, make yourself a huge favor.
He is the best Professor I've ever known. He is kinda challenging but his classes are so interesting that I did not miss even one session. His tests are hard but I loved them. If you plan on studying, go ahead with him. If you want an easy A, don't even bother. I got an A from his class and it means a lot to me. He is tough but a real chemist.
Took him over summer 6 weeks had 10 Hw assignments (easy) due at the end. Had mastering which is big quizzes 18-25 questions each, 2 due dates, around 30 quizzes. And 2 big exams midterm/final. attendance is mandatory.
Hardest B I've ever earned. Highly recommend for chemistry major. Even the strongest students failed to get A's in his class, it is extremely challenging.
SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT!!!!
Worth the money. One of the best professors at MDC. If you're planning on going to a 4 year or graduate school, he WILL definitely prepare you. If you're focused, curious and genuinely like science you will get an A. If you're majoring in a field in science just for the money, or are unsure of your life purpose, don't take.
He's as real as it gets. Great guy and great teacher. His course is hard but that's because it's chem.
caring because he wants his students to do succeed with their future endeavors. He instills hard work, a reverence for chemistry, and develops strong character.. Sometimes you just have to take what he says with a grain of salt, it's never with mean intention. He's just realistic. Focus, understand, communicate and go the extra mile.. or two..
Probably one of the best you will take for CHM1045. His test were very hard but if you do the work, its not impossible. Gives you his previous exams to study from. Might use questions from those exams so go through them! People think hes mean/rude but hes just straight up. Very helping. He really cares. If you get butt burt easily, go elsewhere.
this is where men are separated from the boys.
I took oceanography online. Super easy, proctored midterm sucks failed because I did not study but still finished class with a B. All assignments are easy just do them. Book is not required.
horrible
Didn't learn much chemistry from this guy. He isn't very good at teaching. Ended up with a C in his class which would've been an A with any other chem 1 professor at MDC. However, despite being upset at my grade, I believe his class has made me a better student . I feel incredibly prepared for the much harder courses coming ahead in chemistry.
He is the worst professor at MDC. He does not care if you pass or not and he even doesn't care if you are understanding what he is saying. He is very rude and its not clear at answering questions at all. He also gives you super hard questions that will not help you at all in the lecture. He is not worth to take.
My favorite professor thus far. Took him for both CHM1045 and CHM1046 labs. Got A's in both. He's funny, direct, and helpful. I learn best with a structured schedule, professors who respond to emails and who are Type A. So if you're like me, take him.
I took his 6-week CHM1045 course during the summer. It was intense but you can tell he cares for his students (I encourage you to visit him during office hours). His lectures are helpful with learning the material but if you're not the type of person who can motivate yourself to read and solve problems at home, then this class is not for you.
Gives weekly Homework, and Quizzes. One Midterm and Final. Final isn't proctored. The Homework was extremely tough and sometimes random. Would not take again.
I took this course online and you will be expected to do quizzes every week which are only 25 questions, there are a proctored midterm and non-proctored final. If you pass all the quizzes, fail the midterm, and pass the final you can pass the class with a B. Both the midterm and final contain questions from the quizzes, so review them!
His class is not hard. However, if you fail the midterm which is proctored and get As on everything else including the Final then youll finish the class with a C which will drop your gpa. He did not give us extra credit when we asked and did not help anyone in the class. I would recommend a more understanding professor.
He expects you to know everything aside from what's taught in the your chm1045 and he never answers your questions/doubts on anything. He makes students feel belittled and has absolutely no respect for them. If you plan on taking him, make sure you fully understand concepts and attend his classes ready for the experiments or he won't help you.
This is a geology class. 80% of the content is about geology. That's fine, but I would've signed up for geology if that's what I wanted. This should be an overview of all Earth sciences. Thumbs down for that trickery. The midterm & final combined are worth 60% of your total grade but only 1 of them is proctored. The test questions are tricky too.
I took his six week CHM 1045 course at Miami dade online, and be prepared to fail. None of the questions on the test are what is taught. His class is scheduled three days a week and would only have lecture once a week, and all he did was put a problem on the screen and wait for someone to solve it and then he would explain it a little. DO NOT TAKE!
This class was an online 6-week summer course. I knew it would be tough, but I did not expect that we would ONLY meet once a week (scheduled 3x a week) and in that meeting he would only ask if anyone had questions, put up problems, and QUICKLY explain them. We would need to know every detail of every chapter to pass the tests. No study guides.
Please avoid taking this man, he doesnt care if you are passing or failing he doesnt teach properly. He was one of the worst professors I,ve ever taken in my life. Do your self a favor and dont take him. There are other chem professors to take just dont take him.
The worst lab professor, he changed the syllabus 3 times and added extra labs, which all are very unclear. He expects you to know everything and will easily take off points for the slightest mistakes.
I never heard from him, at the beginning of the semester he had us set up text reminders and he never used it. We never had meetings, and would grade the labs very harshly. Ive sent a couple emails and did not hear back quickly or receive proper explanation to my question. You will be working and reading on a lot of material for each lab.
His labs are not the easiest, but he is always willing to help you with the lab. He has a lenient grading policy, and labs instead of a final exam make up the majority of your final grade. He is great.
Prof. Finneran is a true chemist. Do the labs and make sure to ask him questions. Be polite to him and he'll be polite to you. Clear criteria, expects you to have basic chemistry knowledge, and sometimes a little picky in grading. Don't worry though, you will get an A if you work for it. Very rewarding class, and a great teacher for great students.
Definitely worth it, but only if you can keep up. Labs are quite a bit of work so make sure to get a good partner. He's always there when you need help and he's honestly really nice! Final exam is based on the labs, so make sure you know them well. If you are genuinely interested in this field, I couldn't recommend him enough.
This is the first time that I leave I review for a professor but I had to because I never had a professor that was less caring for its students. he doesn't care about your grade ,he will not try to help you or offer help if you are doing bad in the class, he will just ignore you and focus on the students that he likes. Worst professor ever.
I don't understand how he has bad reviews, his class is amazing and is always willing to help students. Answers emails fast and he is understandable. Would recommend taking class with him but just keep up with the work and lectures.
An amazing professor, but there are just 4 tests for grading and no homework or course works, but still if you pay attention and study it is an easy A with no problem
Do yourself a favor and avoid this professor at all costs. One would be much well-off teaching themselves chemistry than trying to learn it from this guy. Sure, he is a funny guy, but heavily sarcastic and does not really answer questions completely. Also, for an introductory to chemistry course, he expects you to know a lot of stuff beforehand.
Save yourself, I dropped out of the course, but a few of my buddies stayed in they regret not dropping the course before the drop course period ended. He is just really not good at teaching. I heard nearly half of the people who stayed, are failing his class. When the exam average for each exam is around 40%, I believe it is a teaching deficit.
I really like him as a person as he is a really smart and funny guy. His only grades are on 4 big tests. I would stay away from him if you are not willing to practice and learn on your own. It is not an easy A with this guy. You will be ready for the next semester of chem. You can go to him during office hours and if you need extra help.
Professor Finneran is a pretty lenient professor, he tries his best to provide interesting and engaging lectures and is straightforward with the homework and quizzes. It is not a note heavy class since he prefers to have discussions with the class, and most of the information that matters you'll find within the quizzes you have to take.
He's suuuuper condescending and will make you feel dumb for asking questions. Plus, his entire class is dependent on three tests and the final, all of which is dependent on whether you do the reading. It is a good amount of reading. Attending class doesn't do much because he's not super amazing at explaining most things.
Do not take this class. He is a nice guy, but you have to understand his sarcasm. He is not great a teaching the material and it seems like he doesn't want to be there. Course is graded solely by 3 quizzes and a final, with almost no curve. It is possible to get an A if you study the textbook, but expect to basically teach yourself everything.
Do not take Dr. Finneran if you are not ready to teach yourself. If you put in the effort, you will probably pass but it is time consuming and based a lot on memory. The tests were 100 percent of the grade and there was only the option of one extra credit. Do not take unless you are focused on STEM and ready to dedicate your time to this class.
(Fall 22') The only grades were 3 tests & the final, graded on a scale of 500pts (each test=100pts & the final=200pts). Teaching style is not at all effective & responds with snarky comments. Horrible teacher for an intro chem class. Only 2 extra credits (worth 10pts total) & I basically taught myself w/the book the entire semester & ended w/a B-.
I took this class online. He assigns a quiz for every chapter, one proctored midterm and one non-proctored final. That's it. It is limited on assignments, which creates a greater risk for every low grade. I still think it is an easy class to pass. The only reason my grade wasn't an A+ was because I did not study as well for the midterm.
Attendance is mandatory. Super chill and great at explaining the lab. I never spent more than an hour in the class even though its a three hour time slot. Lab reports are super easy all he requires is the questions and graphs, you don't need to do the other formalities. Written and practical final was also easy.
Just quizzes that didn't matched with the lectures , a proctored mindterm that the whole class failed and a normal final test . I took this class online , no feedback or anything from the professor , no extra credit , no explanations , just that, making it by ourselves ,i thought it was going to be great and now is my only class without A .
Professor FInneran was amazing, I look his ESC 1000 class for the spring semester and. I really enjoyed it. You only have to take a 25 question quiz every week. There a midterm that is proctored but the final is not proctored. He responds in a timely manner and gives you the opportunities to submit things again for a higher grade.
This professor was incredibly rude when I asked questions, making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. He has a horrible attitude and shows no interest in helping students. On top of that, all he does is read straight off PowerPoint slides. Avoid his class!
Finneran is a smart but sarcastic professor. His teaching style is ineffective, so you'll have to teach yourself using the textbook. However, unstuck ai and other study tools can be really helpful for acing the exams. Overall, a tough but manageable class if you're willing to put in the work.
This class is super easy as long as you read the textbook. Professor Finneran is always there if you need him and he is very understanding. There's one quiz for each chapter and that's really it. There's a proctored midterm and a non-proctored final. At the end of the course, you have to write at least 1 page worth of a chapter of your choice.
I took an independent class, so no lectures from this professor. But all of the assignments were straight quizzes after each chapter, due by the end of the week. There was also one written assignment that was pretty easy to do. Unfortunately, though, the midterm and final exams are weighed heavily, so you have to study the material beforehand. 6/10
Pace yourself with the homework, don't leave it until the end. He won't remind you, so stay on top of it. Attendance isn't strict, but he does take it. I passed two of his classes by studying. Copy the quiz questions since they lock after you take em (are similar on the test) that's what I used to study. There are 2 tests & you must pass one.
He's the goat. Anyone that gave a bad review just can't keep up with the lightest coursework. Very lenient on grading lab work and it's impossible to fail unless you truly suck at chemistry and are lazy. He's also lowkey funny.
He is an easy going professor, making class fun through his jams and sarcasm! Late work is accepted. He is more easy as a lab professor than a lecture professor. Ive heard that his lecture exams are difficult. The amount of times I've messed up in the lab and he helped and it didn't affect my grade was amazing. 100% recommend. The haters are dumb
