Based on ONLY 3 tests so do good. Attend class regularly, take good notes, study and review, know the terms for the test well and write a lot and you should do fine. Do the reading also! He'll cover some things on lecture and reading. Good guy & witty.

Professor Freeman is a great teacher. He has a sense of humor and is easy to listen to. Attend class and take good lecture notes and you will earn an 'A'. I would highly recommend this professor. Take him if you can!

he's very witty and funny. he only lectures so its best to be there every class. attendance is checked. if u dont like to attend regularly.. this is not for you. (coming from experience heh) he only bases your grade on 3 tests so do ur best at them

Very knowledgable and witty. Actually makes history interesting. Just show up to class and take good notes and you'll get a good grade. 3 exams. He gives you the essay topics in advance so you can research, write a paragraph and memorize it.

Great professor. Very Funny. He tells personal stories during his lectures and will have a tendency to dress like P. Diddy's butler, Farnsworth Bently. He is very cool and totally recommend his class.

I love this teacher sooo much. Makes history as fun as possible. Sometimes goes off subject. You can only miss a certain number of classes. The whole grade is based on 3 tests. No dates on multiple choice and 3 short essay ?s on test. Very easy as long as you and study notes and review sheet.

This is the best class I have taken so far. I like history so maybe that had something to do with it. I attended every class but one (to go to an Angel game!) and was interested every second. I definitely recommend taking this class.

Good teacher, lots of notes, class grade is depended on 3 tests so beware if you are not a test taking person. No Homework or extra credit, just testing. Other than that cool teacher.

he is a funny teacher. he grades are all on test. 3 tests-3essey/35 ABCDE per test. He knows his stuff word by word from the book. take good notes b/c most of the test qusetion are on notes.

IF YOU LIKE HISTORY, TAKE HIM. He's alright, knows his subject well and has a weird sense of humor. If you're like me, and history is not interesting at all: AVOID HIM!!! He put me to sleep half the semester. Pure boredom. Judge for yourself! Sit in for about 10 minutes, that's all you need. PEACE!

He was very funny human. ( He was not trying to be funny.) I wanted to know him better. The way he explain things was just fun to listen to. I learned a lot of things that is not in the text book. I like history because of him. Exams weren't EASY, hard working will be paid off.

I liked how he taught so much that I took him for both A & B. The only hard thing is that there are only 3 test (300pts). You need to go to the class to take good notes. I barely used the book. Only for the short essays and the days I was absent. Very cool teacher.

Very Easy if you can read... Weird sense of humor. Very dry. If you take this class make sure you fill up the essay portion of the test completely! Quantity Not Quality. Over all good class. Nice guy.

very... interesting guy. ive never had a teacher make so many faces. i hated that my entire grade was based on 3 tests, but if you go to class you dont really even need to study because its ALL covered. i havent cracked the book once this semester. i know he looks at this too, so Hi dr freeman.

Just take good notes on the terms he gives you, and extra notes on anything detail he dwells on. Study the bold terms before each test and they're easy. Five absences and he fails you, so keep track of 'em or go to class.

If u listen to him, and study off the guide, you'll do fine. U'd think his test would be easy but there are questions that can get confusing or tricky if u dont pay attention to details. He's handsome but he can pick on people way too much, even made fun of a guy with a broken leg. If u can clown on him, do it.

This man is the funniest teacher I've ever had. Makes class fun by telling stories and wasting time with stupid things like celebrity citings. That said, he does actually cover all the information you'll need to know. Don't underestimate his tests, I did and failed the first one. If you study your terms though, you'll be fine. Take his class.

Freeman is tight!!! You do not need the book. All tests are multiple choice and 4 short essay questions. Attendance is mandatory. He is very helpful and provides study guide in the syllabus so you can just doodle during his lectures. This class is so easy.. take it!!!

Dr. Freeman is a history professor that knows that history is boring. Therefore he does his best to make it interesting... and succeeds! He's funny, his exams are easy IF AND ONLY IF YOU READ THE BOOK, and his class was very enjoyable. Take him if you can. You won't regret it. He is arrogant. He doesen't know anything historical outside the textbook. There is no intelligence in his words- its automatic. His class is easy but it's his ignorance and unwillingness to teach that makes the overall class enjoy his presence. Of course most of the class is filled with idiots. I hate this class. I feel dumber coming out of it.

He's a great teacher and keeps you interested with his attitude and demeanor. You'll be sure to hear about his hatred of communism, his love of Jim Beam, and the phrase "he...got...shot". He can best be described as a cross between a 70's game show host and a host of one of those "sexual harassment in the workplace" videos from the 50s.

He is a great teacher. i hate history, but he makes it fun with his sense of humor. he sounds just like the guy from 777-film (when you call to hear movie listings). history 110 is a ge requirement, so take him! you will not regret it. he is clear and straight to the point,gives study terms for the tests at the start of the first day of class.

He is a great teacher. He makes history very intresting. He will go off topice many times. He does this do that we don't get board and helps the class pay attention. Make sure you know the terms that he gives you on the study guide. Make sure you don't fall asleep in his class because he will point it out to the class. He is very cheerful teacher

oops}Pay attention to his study guide and if there are essay terms do EXTRA research. He was an interesting guy and at times hillarious. However the joking was uncomfortable sometimes. Alcohol will be referenced... about twice a class. If he is reading this to you right now boo him for not coming to my wedding. (Watch out for the bodyglove shirts!)

He's a funny guy. Course consisted of only three exams. He gave out study guides but his exams did not cover even half of what the study guide had so depend on lecture notes rather than reading the book. RESEARCH on your essays it's a big chunk of your grade on your tests. Overall I wouldn't recommend him if you're lazy and don't want study

first of all, his smile reminds me of the characters from chicken run haha. second, he is an excellent professor, his class is nothing but lecture however, he mixes little stories in to make the class interesting, like the story of how the toilet was made or jewish wine. his grading is based on 3 tests, each 30 muli choice and 3 essay. i recomend.

This class is pretty easy but keep in mind that there are only 3 exams so if you want an A, you have to do good in all 3 which u have to take good notes and read the book. You are allowed to have up to 6 absences. This teacher is funny and loves bow ties especially his fave, spongebob lol. This teacher looks alot like steve carell with his smile.

Professor Freeman is awesome! Really easy class with only 3, noncumulative exams. You really have to try hard to fail this class. Really humorous and sarcastic! He really knows his stuff and you barely use the book. I think he may be THE easieset history professor at CSUF.

Dr. Freeman is an interesting, handsome, and sarcastic professor. He thinks he is right about everything he says, and he hates ignorance in students. Attendance is mandatory, and he lectures without visual aids (with the exception of maps and his neck ties that are relevant to the class). Overall a fun and fairly easy class.

Great ties. He lectures with humor and interesting sidebars. Kept me engaged in spite of the hour, 8am ouch. Fair, direct, get to know him. 3 exams, use study guide, know terms take good notes. No extra credit. He used imagry that helped me retain the information. Listen to his jokes, they often wrok to ehlp you remember the material.

He looks like the 40-year-old virgin guy! He is very entertaining and he never put me to sleep! The class is an easy A but he only gives out 3 tests. Each one is 100 points. No homework. You don't have to do the reading or buy the book for the class. Just look at wikipedia for the bolded terms in the study guide and you will be fine!

Freeman is a great lecturer. His class is not mandatory but I recommend that you go because he is very funny and interesting (not to mention he is really good looking!). His tests are easy if you study, and just study the study guide because that is EXACTLY what?s on the test. I would recommend his class to anyone because he is AMAZING!!!

If you study the key terms you will do well on exams. you dont really need the book unless you want to know details. You couldnt fail this class evenif you tried. Got a B+ in the class. Dr. Freeman is a great professor. He explains everything well. must got to class or grade will suffer. He hands out the syllabus w/all the key terms you must know 4 every exam. Book is not really needed.3 non cumulative Mult. choice exams & 1 short paper. If u cant pass this class then u should prob. drop out of school haha.

I took him for both History 110A and 110B. Unfortunately he only teaches Mon/Wed/Fri classes, it's still worth it because he is a great professor and super funny too. All you need to do is take notes, go to his offices hours, and ask what is gonna be on the exam and he should be willing to tell you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Take him, he's hella cool.

My favorite teacher of all time! There are 3 easy multiple choice tests with essay questions. He lectures, you listen and take notes. Funny guy, dresses nice, loves juice it up smoothies. Book isn't really needed unless you miss something from his lecture or want details. Gives out a study guide which is really helpful on tests.

He's like Bill Nye + Steve Carell + Scott Bakkula. He is very opinionated and pushes his ideas on you but he's funny. Lectures were sometimes boring b/c of the topic. He's entertaining tho. Three tests. two book reivews. no big deal. textbook not needed.

He dresses impeccably and is very handsome. He is very clear and vocal in his lectures. He's entertaining but the subject is boring, well to me it is. His exams are clearly explained before any exam. You have to memorize at least 3 short essays and you'll for sure get an A on those parts. His tests are pretty basic, too!

Perhaps the greatest teacher of all... I was lucky to have him as a professor. Super Cool, Extremely Entertaining, Snappy Dresser! A cross between Christoph Waltz (Landa from Inglourious Basterds) and Indiana Jones. Every day is an adventure... he even single-handedly ended the Cold War! What would we do without Prof. Freeman...

I took him for 110A & B. Great professor! He was very entertaining and class wasn't too difficult. Never had to memorize dates. He is very clear in what he wants. As long as you take notes the class will be easy and won't put you to sleep.

Dr. Freeman is the best professor on campus, it is simply a shame he does not teach more classes. This class is strictly a lecture class, 3 book critiques, 3 exams, and he gives you all the information to pass. Any serious history student or not should take Dr. Freeman.

GREAT PROF, only 3 tests, NO HW, dont need to show up to class even though he does take roll. The class before a test he reviews everything on the study guide and that is word for word on the test (he talks super fast and i would highly recommend recording the class before) I have gotten an A on the last 2 tests just from studying the class before

Very helpful teacher. I read the1st ch. of the book for hwk&realized the next day he told us all the main points in lecture.Only thing is that he lectures AT you, not so much of a group discussion type of thing. But, the good thing is that if he mentions it in lecture, its gonna be on the test.3 tests thats it. don't have to know dates. funny too:)

Book reviews are easy but he leaves no comments or information on how to get better. You do not need the book, his class is strictly lecture. On his tests he follows the PhD method (his words) Piled High and Deep. If you do not write enough he seriously dock points. He is an interesting teacher but make sure you write plenty.

Great professor! Funny and down to earth. Only 3 exams (35 multiple choice and 3 written essays). Fill up the entire page for each essay for full points. Textbook not needed but I used it to get more info for the essays. Go to class, it can push you up to the next grade if you're short by a few points but have perfect attendance!

Everyone should take this class. Three essay exams and 3 book critiques. He doesn't say what he wants unless you ask him, so ask. Freeman's an interesting guy, dresses well too. He's a looker,resembles Ralph Fiennes, which is an incentive to attend class. You will learn though.

Fantastic professor! Three book reviews, three non-cumulative exams. Attendance is of course mandatory. My only concern was that he wrote very few or no comments on papers we wrote for the class. Nevertheless, his lectures were engaging and interesting. Definitely take him if you're a history major!

Professor Freeman is the funniest and best professor I have ever had! Come to every class 'cause attendance counts toward your grade. His class is fairly easy; take good notes, especially on study guide discussions (they definitely help on his exams). He never fails to entertain the class, I promise! I definitely recommend him!!!

Dr. Freeman is THE professor to take to manage history on top of other coursework. He lectures at you and take notes on what he says. Attendance is mandatory, and he rewards those who attend regularly with a grade boost. Three very easy non cummulative exams (don't bother buying the textbook. Easy A.

Hilarious and super intelligent professor! Last minute takeover for class, so only 3 books to read, with one paper and participation graded. If you got something dumb to say, dont say anything at all since he will shame you for it. Oh and fun fact: he is mistaken for Walt Disney when he goes to D-land...

No papers ! Do not really need to pay much attention in class, just pay attention on the day of the review before the test ! Test are really easy and straight forward, so basically know your stuff. Test also has 3 short answer questions. He's really chill.

William and David Freeman, they are the same dude. Definitely don't get the textbook. His notes will suffice, particularly on test review day. Funny professor, but his lectures are long and may induce sleepiness. Only 3 tests go in the gradebook. No other assignments. Takes attendance which may boost your grade at the end of the semester.

Freeman is one of the best professors at CSUF. You never know what is going to come out of his mouth. He doesn't use PowerPoint just straight lecture. His grading just consist of just three test (100 points each). Tests are easy if you show up to class before the test because he gives you all of the info you need. TAKE FREEMAN IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE

Dr. Freeman class is very easy and I highly recommend taking him for HIST 110AB. He gives you a study guide with all terms for his three exams. Study the term sheet throughly and you will no doubt pass with an "A". He is an honest individual and is fairly funny from time to time. Got out of class early a good amount for a 75 minute class.

Professor Freeman takes attendance and will use it for points. If you come late, he'll call you out in front of everyone. There a 3 tests with multiple choice and essay questions. Before each test, he'll do a study guide, so make sure you come. He knows what he is talking about and is passionate about history.

Freeman is certainly an interesting professor. I've had him a couple of times in the past and he hasn't changed a bit. Class consisted of three book reports (you get to pick the books), one huge research/historiography paper, and a presentation of your paper. He's relaxed and super funny so it makes the class enjoyable. Pretty tough grader too.

an interesting teacher, he can keep the lectures going with funny side topics but he doesn't have any visual slides to go with his lectures. he also tends to go on unrelated topics but always finishes the lectures on schedule. you won't want to miss his class because they are informational.

Participation for his class counts. If you miss many lectures, your grade will go down. Take notes, read the book and you will pass the class. His exams are not tricky or hard, mostly the general idea. He has great character overall (personality and in class). Look forward to every class meeting for something interesting. Def recommend!

Best History Professor ever. His lectures are long, but he is interesting and has a sense of humor that will make you want to go to class. He is far from boring and one of the best dressed professor. Dr. Freeman is one of my favorite history teachers. He's very humorous and makes learning history interesting. Since his class is large, their isn't much one-on-one connection, but he does answer your questions when you need them. Book was never used and only has 3 tests to grade you on. Oh and his tie game is on point.

You may recognize him from CSUF's snapchat story as the professor that comes really well dressed to class every single session. He is a great professor! The only thing you get graded on in the class is the 3 exams which include multiple choice and 3 short essays. As long as you take notes and review from the textbook as needed you'll be fine.

All you have is 3 test which are non-cumulative with no extra credit options given. Study guides for each test is just the list of key words that he gives to you in the syllabus.

Gives you a list of terms that will be your key to success. He hardly uses ppts, so be ready to listen. Counts attendance and WILL lower your grade if you don't go. If you are like me and hate History, you should take this class. Dr. Freeman makes History very easy. Buying the book isn't necessary if you pay close attention to his lectures. I bought mine and didn't open it once. Overall, Dr. Freeman is a great professor!

He was a great professor and he taught well. He told stories during class and made the students laugh. I enjoyed being in his class. He mainly lectures so bring your laptop or notebook to take notes and he goes by fast. He will review all the terms before the test. There is no homework and only three midterms. The final is non cumulative.

Wonderful, hilarious teacher. His exams aren't too tough but require A LOT of writing, like filling up 4-5pages of a blue book. I didn't do too well on the first exam but got A's on the next two and a B+ in the class. I would definitely take him again!

Professor Freeman is easily one of my favorite professors at CSUF. However, his classes are extremely lecture heavy and he does not use a power point ever. Show up (attendance counts), take notes, and study for your three exams, and maybe use the book if you want more help with the written portion of your test. TAKE HIM. You won't be disappointed.

So great I took him for 110A & 110B. Lecture heavy but everything he says is on the exam. Exam reviews are really helpful & accurate to what the tests asks. He is funny, dresses professional, & knows what hes talking about. Easy tests but you still gotta study. You can get away missing a few classes but you can tell he gets sad when you dont go.

He walks in every day in a full tuxedo and hat, pulls up a chair, and sits and talks for the time period. Yeah, it can about history, but it can also be about how much he doesn't understand why college students wear slides (happened, no joke). It's not hard, he's just minimally invested in his students and it shows.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! He's so funny, loud (in the best way possible since I took a night class), and caring! When school was opened, before the pandemic was an issue, literally listen to lectures + take GOOD notes on the study guide definitions he provides and YOURE SET FOR THE EXAM! There are no presentations. He sits down and goes through the war by memory. You just write down notes as you listen to him. The exams cover class material and are free response. He looks for quantity over quality so write as many facts as you can and you should do well. He gets off topic often and has hilarious stories. Great class and professor!

Book can be found online but you have to look a little harder than usual, quizzes and exams are easy, you get a whole week to do each. Each week you have to do a 300 word discussion board response on a topic from a website and a 10 question quiz. Exams are like 30 questions and three 300 word answers. Easy, pleasant, straightforward, no meetings.

I really enjoyed his class for online semester. Although there was a lot of textbook reading and discussion posts, there was never a time where it was too overwhelming. The biggest help was the fact that the whole course was open from day one so we could do extra work for the future weeks. The flexibility he had for the course was the best.

He assigned a grade of "D" in an subjective or prejudicial (arbitrary and capricious) manner. The syllabus stated the courses are not weighted. When questioned about historiography papers he gave no clear directions; the least helpful. No written instructions about historiographies was given. Historiographies are the writing of history.

Easy until you get to term paper. Vague instructions/harsh grading. Doesn't accept any excuses for late/missing assignments unless you were "medically incapacitated". Announcements for weekly assignments. No excuses/exceptions policy bothered me because not everyone can only focus on school and do assignments 24/7. Homework/tests are simple.

organized canvas. every week is practically the same thing. read 1-2 chapters, take a quiz, and do the discussion post. two parts to the exam (35 mult choice + 3 written). term paper was manageable + worth a lot. doesn't give you a rubric, but instead there are vague instructions. grade took a toll from the paper. slow replies to emails.

I recommend this Professor he has a dry sense of humor and I loved it!!! He is very organized and you know exactly what needs to be done to pass the class. Just go by the syllabus. He dresses really nicely and also looks like a mixture of Bill Nye the Science Guy and Harrison Ford. He is very knowledgeable about European History.

I loved Dr. Freeman's class. He was knowledgeable and hilarious, with amazing life stories. Everything in his classes are very lecture-heavy with no visual aids, so if you're a visual learner like I am, the class is difficult. The grade is based on 3 Exams and 3 Book Reports - very straightforward. I would love to take him again if I could.

Prof Freeman is the funniest! Easy professor and class to take. Make sure to pay attention and attend all the classes or prepare to read for tests. No homework just attend class and take notes and you will have 3 tests that determine your grade. He always makes his lectures interesting and funny, I recommend!

I had an A in the class and I had a canvas submission mishap on the final paper and he refused to grade the paper and failed me. I explained everything and showed proof that it was done on time in Google Docs and he just ghosted me. I ended up trying to get the department chair of history involved to try to help me and he even ghosted her lol.

His humor makes up for a lot of his cons. You have to ask for your grade because he doesn't use Canvas. Lecture heavy. 3 tests, 2 book reports (1 page each), and a presentation. His tests are annoying because he does everything possible to not give out an A. Tests require much more insight and knowledge on topics. Use large bluebooks(not small)

He is a very tough grader on tests. Attendance is MANDATORY you will get screwed over if you don't show up for class. If you're expecting a class that isn't lecture heavy DO NOT TAKE HISTORY 170B!!! There is no homework but you are gonna need to do lots of studying of the terms that you did in class or you are bound to fail the test.

Easy and funny professor. Wish he was more passionate about the topic. Grade is mostly defined by exams. Also graded on book reports and presentation. Loves coffee, tangents, does not care about you, and it's hard to detect passion except for Winston Churchill. Or maybe the 7 pm classes were too late... He was not there when I needed him during office hours. I learned he likes exams to be 2 pages long for short answers and 4 pages long for long answers.

Horrible teacher. I was in asynch and had a Canvas issue for exam 2 and I couldn't access it. He blamed me for it and ghosted me. Went to advisors and he ghosted them too! I received two zeros (one for objective and one for writing) and never got fixed. He doesn't care about his students at ALL. Horrible class. Horrible teacher. Never again.

I took his online asynchronous class and it wasn't until I had to email him regarding some issues I had with the last few exams. I sent him an email but he just ghosted me. He didn't really teach the class and just had us read through the textbook and some articles off a website.
