Mr. French is a pretty good math teacher. He will go over things to make you understand and will stay behind to make sure that you get what he is talking about.

HE'S THE MAN. Basically the viginia campus students were in his calc 3 class. 5 out of 5

Mr. French is good. I am visually impaired and he was very helpful to me. He stresses doing the homework and he goes over assignments in class. I have to take statistics and he is the only proffessor I will consider. A #1 teacher

Mr. French has to be the best math teacher. I'm terrible in math and somehow Mr. French makes the material easier to learn. No Quizes or Homework checks, just 5 tests the whole semester. The tests are pretty simple too, if you study the HW. Very understanding guy who can relate to anyone.

Mr. French is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. I even tell friends at other campuses to come to Chesapeake to take math with Mr. French. Top notch instructor!

Women out there let me just say eye candy!!! As for the class Mr. French presents the material in a clear and concise manner with an amazing knack to make it "click" for most students. He points out what we really need to know to suceed in higher math classes. I recommend him to everyone. If you attend another campus his class is worth the drive!

I failed statistics the first time I attempted it, but with Mr. French's help, I did quite well in his lecture class. I would highly reccomend him for those required to take statistics.

Although he had family happenings outside of instructing ( took away some office time from students )he was the best math instructor I am aware of. He provided clear examples of the chapter information and tested on very similiar types of test problems. He was able to offer extra credit.I recommend him!

Take him for Statistics! He is a great teacher, and he tells you exactly what you need to know for tests. Plus, he doesn't give you a lot of homework.

I hated Algebra before this class. I could never get factoring, rational expressions, quadratic equations, etc. Mr French is really helpful and cares how you do in the class. I am actually staring to think Algebra isnt that bad AND I got a 102 on the factoring test, the area I always had trouble with!

I am horrible at math. His class was so easy I am passing with an A. The quizzes are either take home or you can work together in class. There are test reviews so those are easy. He is understanding and kind. Homework is assigned but not mandantory. Attendance is not counted

Mr.French is the best! He is timely, knowledgeable and eager to teach. He teaches simplistically and test only on material provided! Homework is provided to assist you but is not graded. The last test is cumulative:( but he will go over what is required. Great Professor and good all around person!

Mr. French is a very nice, easy going prof. I took this during the summer session & we had 5 take home quizzes, 4 tests, & a final. The material was confusing at times, but his tests are easy if you study your notes. Hardly ever took attendance. I would definately recommend this prof.

Mr. French is a great online instructor. His notes are extremely helpful and easy to understand. He is very organized and quick to respond to emails. The quizzes and exams aren't easy, but if you study his notes and do the homework he suggests, you will be prepared.

Mr. French is probably the best math professor I ever had. His notes are crystal clear, and he presents it in lecture very well. He's a cool guy to talk to with any issue, and certainly makes way for his students. He wants everyone to understand and pass his class. Take him if you can- you will not regret it! I took precalculus with him and he is a great teacher he breaks down math so simple that you know whats going on for a fact. Furthermore he very understanding if things come up in that you have to miss class. As long as you tell him ahead of time he is good about working it out with you.

This guy is the man, he made Vector calculus easier than Calc II, for me at least. He doesn't collect homework but, if you have any questions on problems from the homework he will go over it. And if you asking enough questions from the homework, sometimes it might just uses all class time and...until next class =].

OMG....Mr. French is great. If you need a math class take him. Math is not my favorite but I had Mth121 online and I passed. Quizzes and Tests are MC. He offers extra credit. As long as you read the powerpoint slides and review the problems in the chapter he assigns, you will be fine. GREAT CLASS!!!!!! TAKE HIM!!!!!

I have taken MrFrench for every math class possible, this was my 4th with him. He is amazing! He breaks everything down and makes it super simple to pass. just go over the problems he assigns and you'll do fine on tests. only 3 people had to take the exam b/c they didn't have A's and they were people that missed several classes. TAKE HIM!!!!

summer semester stats. He is such an amazing teacher! Dr. French makes math understandable. The best decision Ive ever made was to drive to chesapeake from va bch to take him. French was an awesome teacher. He is very clear and precise with his notes and gives great study guides for the tests. Show up, follow the notes, and you should do well in this class.

Took Statistics online and ended up with an A without that much effort. Quizzes every other week and a mid term and final proctored at the school that were directly from the quizzes. Take this class if you want to do well in Statistics!

Took him in the summer. I suck @ mth, but passed his w/an A. Very clear & helpful. There's 8 quizzes which r all online (not timed) w/about 5-8 q's each. No graded h.w. There were 4 tests & the last 1 he let us take home. U have to do a mth project worth 80 pts (mandatory & u pick only 1 out of 6), but it was very easy that u can finish it in a day

Professor French is an AWESOME teacher. He really knows math and as long as you get the right answer, he doesn't care what method you use. There are very few of us in class so it was kind of nice getting to know him as a person and a professor. I will recommend him if not for how east it is to get an A, but also how much help he does give you.

I took his class and got an EASY A!! Im not the most enthusiastic person about school and missed class alot. Hes very helpful with anything you don't understand and answers any questions you have even on tests. Homework was a breeze, it was impossible to not get 100s on mathlab. Hes so nice, and understanding about anything!&Due dates were flexible

Honestly, this was the easiest class that I've ever taken at TCC. He really made class interesting. Also, 5 tests so if you fail one, you're still fine. Easy homework. Most of the tests were take home and he would give you reviews for the tests. Such a great guy! I loved him. Never takes attendance. Super laid back.

Very good teacher. takes what could be a hard subject and makes it extremely easy. doesnt try to trick you on tests. got a 100% on his final. doesnt take attendance. I took this is the summer with 4 other classes and still didnt have a hard time.

He is the best math teacher TCC could have!! He makes everything so simple and understandable. His tests and quizzes are eas and right from the notes. The homework however isn't like he teachers you, so make sure to take notes down from class and from the homework.

French is an awesome professor. He didn't make things difficult, which made my learning experience good. He made things simple and he was nice. The only thing I did not care for that he did was the expiration dates for his MyMathLab assignments. But, overall, he is an excellent professor. Just know what he is talking about and you will be fine.

He is a great professor! I took him twice. He really knows how to explain things that make them easy to understand. His tests are easy enough as long as you pay attention in class. He really takes advantage of mymathlab. He's super nice and understanding.

I have to admit that I was intimidated by this course since it had been a long time since I had math. Professor French is a wonderful teacher. He's very laid back and wants to make sure that every student gets it. He uses MyStatLab which was extremely helpful to me. I have one more final to take, but I believe I'll get an A in this course.

I love him! he is so helpful and straight to the point. He makes sure that everyone understands the concept. He even offered to help me in Precalc this summer. Very nice teacher! Mr. French is my favorite math professor at TCC. He gives some take home test and a few are in class, a extra credit homework assignment (very easy), and even stays after class to help you with problems you may have. He has a great attitude and wants his students to do well. I am horrible at math and recieved and A.

Mr. French is a great teacher. He is extremely helpful if you do not understand something. The material is a little repetitive but he explains it all very well and gives a lot of examples. Take good notes in class and the homework is all mathlab. The tests are in class and take home.

I took Mr French for Elementary Statistics. He really broke it down and explained it to make sense.He gives EXCELLENT notes and the test are VERY fair.I HIGHLY recommend him esp if you are not a Math person. Take notes, Do homework and pay attention and you will do well. I was scared to death going into this class and came out with an A.

I took Mr. French this Summer 4 Elem Stat. I'm not a Math person and was terrified of the course. He breaks it down, shows you how to use various tools and keeps it light. Tests are VERY FAIR and he does not make you feel ignorant. If you don't pass, it is your fault. Best Math teach I have ever had. Wish I had known to take his classes before!

David French is an amazing teacher! His tests are part take home, part in class. As long as you do the MyMathLab homework to review, it is easy. Math has never been a strong subject for me, but I almost have a perfect score in this class! Really great teacher, just do the work and get an A!

Mr. French was the absolute best math teacher I've ever had. The only way that you could possibly fail this class is if you don't show upsleep through the class. He teaches very clearly and only had 3 tests. Very funny. Doesn't drag the class on, usually got let out early. Definitely would take him again!

Pretty easy class almost always got let out early. Explains material very well in a broken down manner. Excellent professor for students who are not strong in math.

I have taken French for every math class I have had to take and would not take anyone else! He explains how you can actually use the math you're learning about and admits he leaves out the sections that aren't too important or that you'll barely use in the future. 4 EASY tests and always gives a take home quiz that reinforces material. TAKE HIM!

He really loves math, so sometimes he gets a little too into it to the point that it's confusing - but for me, someone who is not good at math, I was able to navigate thru the course and end up with an A.

Mr. French was an awesome teacher. He explained the same thing multiple ways to ensure everyone in class was on the same page. He didn't really care about attendance, but he lays out everything that's expected on the tests in class. Exams were split, calculation intensive portion was take home, easy calculations and vocabulary in class.

Professor French was so awesome. He never gives too much work like some there professors do. Easy A, if you do your mathlab homework and look over notes and quizzes before tests, even for those like me who are not good in Math.

Dr. French is such a wonderful professor, Vector Calc is not easy but he made it bearable and explained so well. Take notes! also utilize office hours for extra help. there are 4 test and 4 quizzes. you MUST study, there's no gimme here. Dr French is a great teacher highly recommended. don't miss class!

I had Dr. French for math 277, and he was a great teacher. He always explained the question in very knowledgable way and he only gives us 4 tests. Just take him. You won't regret.

Prof French is a real gem! Sometimes I wonder why he is lecturing at a community college but thank God for keeping him there for me. He is no doubt a math genius; please do not hesitate to take him if you need a STAT class

Mr. French is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and very clear in his lectures. He is willing to take time to help you if you don't understand something. He made MTH157 very easy. Online homework and 4 easy tests that are exactly like his lectures. I highly recommend him to math geniuses AND those who aren't so good at math.

Mr. French is an awesome instructor! I was intimidated by taking this class because I hate math, but his teaching style and knowledge of the materials mad this class super easy. There were 4 exams in the course and StatCrunch is very helpful with them. I would chose him if I needed to take a higher level math class without hesitation.

Mr. French is just an all around great teacher. He loves math and can explain things in a variety of ways and can teach to a variety of learning styles. He is very friendly and approachable. If you need help with math, he will take the extra time or help you find the help you need.

If you pay attention in class and do the homework practice he assigns, there should be no issue with getting at least a B. Great teacher, sucks they aren't letting him teach the classes he should be teaching.

Mr. French is a fantastic teacher. He goes at a good pace and makes sure everyone understands the material. He really cares about his students and is easily accessible outside of class if you need more help. He would often let us out a little early which was also another perk. Great teacher. No beating around the bush. If you take him, try to get a class around early afternoon. He gets straight to the point does the lecture and leaves. No study guides but if you do the assignments you'll do well on test. Homework is not grades but I recommend that you do it otherwise you'll be lost in the class.

Here I am, writing this review at almost 1 am. This guy is awesome! Hands down you will not be disappointed if you take him for this course. I had him for summer 2017 and even that wasnt difficult if you just take notes, taking my final soon and im free. Highly recommend! His tests and lectures are cohesive, but he rarely ever mentions the online homework, so its super easy to forget about. I took it at night, so he gets straight to the point and usually lets us off early. Hes fun and tells stories and jokes, and his lessons are super easy to understand. We played a card game for extra credit once

Ive never been good at my, let alone understand it. TAKE MR. FRENCH's CLASS! He uses stat crunch a lot, gives you a take-home portion of the test as part of his tests, uses a lot of examples but makes sure you know where you get this or that number from. He is a genuine nice guy and he can actually teach to a point where you understand the material

I live in Virginia beach and was skeptical about driving all the way to Chesapeake for a class. So glad I chose to do so! Great teacher Explains everything, willing to stay after class to help. Tests are super easy; half in class, half take home. All I needed were noted and his handouts to ace all tests. Take no other professor

Since he was teaching a fairly early class, he would say his "mind isn't working yet" and he always made us laugh when he would tell stories. Don't worry about his exams. There is a take home portion and an in class portion. He makes sure to put the "harder" stuff on the take home so you can use StatCrunch. Great teacher and I would take him again.

He is an amazing teacher. Makes a complex subject very easy to understand. He goes over the problems several times and allows computer program to assist in calculations. He allows 50% of the tests to be take-home so you can use the computer program. AWESOME CLASS & TEACHER!

Mr. French is by far my favorite professor at TCC! He makes the material easy to understand, and he's a really cool guy! You do need a textbook for the course, but using it for the material wasn't necessary, he's clear enough in his lectures! DEFINITELY would take again!!!

Ok, I made an account just for this guy. I struggle in math, I really do, he makes sense when he explains things but my memory is terrible and I forget what problems use what formulas. He is lenient and if you at least try in this class, you won't fail. He rounds your grades up it seems, I thought I was going to fail, but managed to pass.

Professor French is by far one of the best teachers at TCC. He cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. His lectures are amazing and he explains things very clearly. I took this class online during covid and it was one of my favorite classes this semester. If you study and listen to lectures, you will have no problem with this class.

4 Tests 20% each, homework makes up the remaining. Super understanding of the subject. Very easily transfers the material to the class. You need to take nots but thats obvious. If you miss a class make sure to go back and watch a recording. Homework has as many redos until the due date. and a after due date for studying, no credit. Take him!

The class grade was made up of 4 tests + homework, weighted 20% each. Professor French is a very good lecturer, patient, helpful, and understanding. He does his best to explain things in simple terms and explain concepts in multiple different ways so everyone gets a chance to understand. He does lots of sample problems step by step. Great teacher

Professor French is a very good professor. You can tell he cares and tries his best to help everyone understand the material. He is good at explaining things and re-explaining in a different way when someone doesn't understand. His dry sense of humor is unmatched, and I am sad to be transferring because I won't be able to take his classes anymore.

mth 155. Prof. French is great! I took this class virtually with no zoom. The course is 3 exams (25% each) and homework (25% total). multiple attempts on the homework which can boost your grade plus he will give back partial credit on exams if you ask him to look. been out of college for 12 years and got a B+.

Professor French is engaging and makes difficult concepts digestible. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for exam prep. Highly recommend taking this class if you put in the work.
