Gavner makes class fun! His personal examples for everything are always good for a laugh and help make things easier to understand. The review sheets for exams tell you exactly what to study, use it as a guide and you should do well. If you can take a class with Gavner, go for it, you won't regret it.

WOW! What a great professor! One of DCC's best! Very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Easy quizzes/exams. Took course in the summer for 5 weeks. We had 6 quizzes and 3 Exams and he took the highest 5 quizzes. What ever he goes over in the lecture is on the quiz/exam. He gives you a review sheet for exams. You can't ask for a better instructor.

AWESOME teacher! I actually enjoy going to his class and have grown an interest in psychology. I am looking forward to taking another class with him. Only 3 tests, one being the final and 6 quizes - only top 5 are taken. Such a great, fun teacher!

Mr. Gavner is awesome. I had him a few semesters a go and he made psych so interesting. I had Bakatis for 111 and I hated it and could not understand anything. Thank god I had Gavner before I got into my nursing classes because Erickson and Maslow are so important and he made me understand it. Fun, enthusiastic, humerous, and very helpful!

His class was amazing. He doesn't give any busy work, just what you need. All of the notes are on powerpoint and he puts them on Angel as well so if you miss a class you can get them online. He is hilarious and keeps the class interesting. Never any homework either.

Had him for Dev. Psych and Therapeutic Intervention Skills. Puts PowerPoint on ANGEL, does not get upset if you don't attend class/don't notify him about being absent. Tests are mostly M/C questions with a small essay at the end that he gives you the answers for in class. Funny guy, clear, charismatic. One of my favorites at DCC. Take his classes.

I'm in his Psy 111 class and he is amazing.. Tells jokes and help you get a better understanding of the work that is given to the class, and offers extra help if needed. He gives out study sheets before a exam which really helps.. He does more of the power points than working from the textbook. Never a dull moment in his class..8 am class the best.

His questions come straight from the power points and he puts them all online. He is funny and explains things very clearly. Take him for an easy grade!

Gavner was awesome. He made a 9:30am class so fun. I thought I was going to be falling asleep all semester and this turned out to be my favorite class. He loves what he teaches and it shows. I plan on taking him for a different class next semester

Awesome teacher, tells you EXACTLY what will be on the tests. Tests were a tad bit difficult but if you put some effort into studying you WILL pass. I also have to say that I actually liked the essay questions that appeared on tests. They were pretty easy to.

Easy 11 question quizzes (last Q is extra credit). Easy tests based off of quizzes. I don't really understand how someone could get lower than a B in this class, he makes it SO easy.

Mr. Gavner is a great professor! He teaches through powerpoint presentations and by sharing stories from his own life. He doesn't give quizzes or homework so your grade does depend mostly on the chapter tests but there is always 2-4 points of extra credit you can earn on each exam AND he does drop the lowest one!

A great teacher, loves talking about his kids (in an educational way). All the notes are in a power point but he posts them online for you. Answers every question and is just a great person. Wants to create his on tv show called "Gav TV". I loved every second of his class. Only 4 tests but gives you study guides for all and holds review sessions.

If you love Chandler from Friends then your'e going to love Prof Gavner. The notes are easy and clear to understand. Sometimes he puts the same questions that were on your quiz onto the next exam. Overall the class is easy and interesting.

He is my favorite professor because he is so inspirational and you can connect and undertsand everything he is teaching because he explains so well and tells his own stories. David Gavner, has very good teaching experience. He is definitely a attention getter, and i love the fact that, he keeps his students informed with all assignments even if your absent he will let students know when exams are coming up! i will definitely recommend any student that interested in taking a Psychology course, David Gavner class is it!!!

I CAN'T RECOMMEND GAVNER ENOUGH!! His class was super easy. Show up, listen to his lectures, take some notes, and take 5 tests. If you're not a good listener or tester, you'll probably struggle with his teaching style. If not, he's a hilarious speaker and talks about his daughters all the time. Gavner is the greatest. I had him my first semester and I planned my second semester schedule around his class. He's super informative and I found myself disappointed his class couldn't be longer. His tests are easy if you listen in class (which isn't hard to do because he's super engaging) and he gives review dittos that make it so easy to study.

Gavner was the best professor I've had yet. His lectures were clear and not super long. He gave review dittos before every test and gave extra credit on all tests too. He is also super easy to reach he was super quick with responding to emails and helping to make sure his students succeed. Definitely sign up for one of his classes if you could.

Mr. Gavner is incredible- I couldn't recommend a professor more. His lectures are wonderful, and I was genuinely sad when he would cancel class. He has a great way of getting knowledge to really stick, and I feel like I've actually retained what I've learned this semester. I'm very grateful to have had him as a professor :-)

Each week you have to read and watch lecture videos or take a quiz on reading. He responds to emails quickly and drops your lowest quiz grade at the end of the semester

Mr. Gavner is a great choice for an online course (and I'm sure in-person too). He manages to make the material interesting and shares personal anecdotes which help with retention for the exams. He's also funny which really helps get through the course! Highly recommend.

Gavner is a great psychology teacher. He cares about his students and always says if we have questions ask them. His tests and quizzes are all multiple choice. His answers were always derived from the past quizzes and his slides which made it easy to study. His lectures were always funny and had stories that made it easy to understand.

Gavner is charismatic and a good guy. His teaching keeps students focused on the material and the grading is very simple, as you are graded on the tests. Would take a class that he teaches again.

He was amazing, attendance was not mandatory as he just went over power points that he posted on the bright space, but he did not announce when quizzes were so watch out for that. other than that he was great and a easy class, also called out a lot so that was great. I would take him again anyday.

Gavner is an amazing professor! His lectures were more like great stories that you'd want to listen to. Attendance is not mandatory, but I highly recommend you attend his classes because of how entertaining he is. The only assignments were online multiple choice quizzes and exams which were very easy as long as you reviewed the material beforehand.

He is the funniest and most chill guy ever. He loves to curse lol. Only grades on tests and quizzes but they are beyond easy, always with bonus questions. Lectures are always entertaining and he provides tons of examples and stories for each bullet on a lecture slide so it is easy to understand and retain the information. Taking PSY203 with him too

Gavner was the best teacher I've ever had. I opted to take another 2 classes with him. He makes the lecture so enjoyable instead of just reading off slides. All the quizzes and exams are online. He regularly cancels class, but he is genuinely the best teacher at DCC. TAKE HIS CLASS, you won't regret it.

I have an 102% in this class, didn't know that was possible, but he's an amazing teacher.
