I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A HIGHER GRADE he just pulled a C out of his ass
This guy was lazy! He lectured sitting down!Voice is monotonous. The only problem I had, was he forgot to add in my hw grades into my final grade and I recieved a D-. However I got in touch with him, and my grade was then changed. I got a C in the class!
His lectures are boring!!! He's pretty easy, though.
Not tough at all. Sounds boring and doesn't interact with students, but class is simple and easy to understand. He tells you what to study for in the exams and the test questions are from the textbook cd. Study the cd/look pretty in presen., get an A!
Easy.. Adds everyone in class. The only thing to worry about is doing 2 15min presentation. But you get to work with groups
Gillis is great. You'll pass his class. He tests you on the CD from your book. It's very easy too cheat, since he has a hard time walking. Sit in the back and have your notes out. I don't really think he cares if you cheat, saw several people do it.
Gilliss is great because he will tell you what he wants from you. The tests are not that bad, the papers and presentations are pretty easy too. Its just nice because he will tell you what he wants in your papers and what to study for the test. Nice guy
His lecture is boring. But it is easy to get a good grade. 3 presentations, 1 mid-term and final exam are all essay questions
He is a good professor and he likes what he does.
He's very understanding, helpful, flexible, and cares about his students. He's also very knowledgeable. You will definitely learn something from his class.
Professor Gillis is awesome. He's very smart,& has a passion for teaching. He is extremely helpful,& puts great effort into making sure his class sessions aren't boring. You can tell he hasn't lost his passion for teaching. :O) If you do your work & do well on the exams u can pass w/a good grade!
Very friendly, easy, and somewhat quirky. The only problem is that he gives about 5 different versions of the exams so everyone is tested differently, a bit unfair since some exams are easier than others. It also takes him half an hour to set up the powerpoint slides. also ask him about airplanes.
Very nice guy.class comes with 1 midterm,1 final,3 oral presentations.Only take this class if your good at memorization, cause thats what miterm and final are based on. he tells you what to study and ur only responsible 4ten.final exam was more detailed compare to midterm. text4sale:9th ed oohoy@hot
Easy class/ Just take good notes the day of review for final and midterm. 2group projects and he is a fair grader. Class boring, but he explains very good. He is kind of funny.
easy class!! fair grader.
If you want an easy A to boost up your GPA, TAKE THIS CLASS. I'm graduation in May and this is the easiest teacher ever. The class is cake!!! He gives you exactly what is on the test before the midterms. If you fail, you are a stupid loser.
A Piece of Cake!!! You should know or will know what I mean, je je. Really easy class, easy to learn the material because he explains concepts in a very relaxed manner. He is funny. Must take professor... Do the work, and take good notes before the exams and memorize answers from the ppt slides.
Very boring class but very easy class. 2 presentations that are a piece of cake and a ceo paper that's not even hard. MIdterm and final try to trick you but still very easy, easy class all around
Great Professor...Clear and Concise. Does not overwhelms you with lots of homework.
Class is pretty straight forward. 1 test, 1 final, 3 papers and presentations (1 on your own, the rest with a group). Lectures will put you to sleep. However, study guide will tell you exactly what is on the test. Didn't buy the book, never read, studied from the slides, got an A.
He is an easiest teacher for Bus 189. Dont buy the textbook, just study from the PPT slides for the tests then you should do ok. I got an A in this class without buying a textbook.
Class is easy. 3 papers and presentation & 2 exams. He tells you exactly what to study for so only focus on those things, but you have to really memorize them. 10 questions on exam but has multiple parts. Lectures are very boring cause he goes over the exact power point slides. Don't read until he tells you what to study for.
I just finished the summer class and I don't think he's that easy.got the highest score 98 on the final, and doing good on papers.got an B on this class.have to memorize his review question carefully.Your answers have to be exact the same as shown on book.

This guy is boooring! all he does is reads the powerpoint and u dont even have to come to class because the notes are all online.. the class is easy compared to other classes... but this class is hella fraken boring!
hella boring! but easy! u dont learn sh** though.
occasionally funny, obsession with airplanes/airforce. class and information is exciting yet lectures can put you to sleep. this is not his fault tho because the book seems quite repetitive
boring boring boring. all he does is powerpoint...and speeds through everything like its unimportant. didnt learn much of anything...midterm is all on your own from the book. class is silent all the time. stay away
had professor Gilliss for BUS 10, this class is ALL based on power point lectures. All the notes and slides are posted on his website. No need to attend class but dont fall beouhind. Your basically on your own, I didnt learn very much. I recommend you sin the very front because he tends to muble and you quite understand him. 3 major assignments inc
he is so boring with a low tone of voice. he jsut use ppt to teach teh calss. all his ppt is on the internet. the class is jsut boring when he talks to us.
Boring. I hated haveing to go to this class. All he does is read off the power points that you can get off of his website anyway. Half the class fell asleep the whole time. It was an easy class though. Did not raise my interest in Bus though...
For DISCOVERING BUSINESS, all you REALLY do is listen to him read powerpoint slides on each chapter that he downloads from the publishers. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS>>>MAKE SURE YOU PICK GOOD PARTNERS FOR THE PROJECTS!!! Otherwise you will regret it!!! & When he's telling you what to study for for finals, make sure you memorize the actual laws and acts.
i dont not recommended. very boring. if you are a business major and freshman, you are not require to take this class. its only recommended. u learn nothing about business though. take another class that covers ur GE. don't take this one. waste of time
UGH Boring! 2 tests, 1 individual paper, 2 group projects and that is everything. Grades easily on projects and papers. u should study for the tests because that is where u most likely will get screwed. just study what he tells u to the day before and remember the actual acts and laws.
BORING prof. Reads off powerpoints in class. Get a good group and only study after his review then you will be fine. Don't read the book. Pretty easy overall, but if you want to learn anything don't take Gilliss.
Do your assignments. Study for the tests. you'll do fine. He's a very good teacher. He sometimes makes the class worth coming to. Very funny guy. I idolize the guy due to his success and knowledge in business.
Incredibly boring. If a robot taught that class it wouold be exactly the same. Just make sure to get good group members and go over major concepts before tests.
Boring. Three long hours every Friday morning. Had trouble keeping alert between naps. Professor was really nice and approachable. Very easy-going guy. Exams were a little concerning, but nothing too serious. Very little homework. Can cut class, just don't fall too far behind.
It's like simple stuff, so simple it gets boring and then you don't study/read. The classes were boring. It's just slides, so...if you like, going to class is OPTIONAL, yet, he takes attendance....
pretty cool guy. cracks jokes. grades easy on papers and presentations. he just goes over the powerpoint every day, which are available on his website. a lot of information on the powerpoint, yet just a few questions on the midterm and final...so...better know your information.
Guys is very anti fry's electronic. Gets funny at time although his jokes repeat. There are only about like 4 assignments/project total in his class. His exams are extremely easy. Just be there for review day and you practically'll get an A on the tests. Books never really needed besides the case project. Recommended.
Good teacher, very straight-forward. His tests are just 10 questions, most requiring 3-4 sentences to answer and 1-2 requiring a list of things. Study exactly what he tells you to, don't study anything he doesn't tell you to, he wont trick you. What he says he will ask, he will ask. For papers, check spelling and grammar very carefully.
BEWARE if you're class is quiet, he gets boring!
this guy is BORING.
two words: BORING, CORNY
Very dull. You sit there hoping to learn about how interesting the business world is but he just shows slides and discusses them slowly. By the third week, everyone stopped paying attention. By the fourth week I didn't go to class. Yet I still managed to get a B on the midterm and an A on my paper.
Remember to bring all your materials to class so you can hide behind them as you sleep.
He is absolutely the most boring teacher I have ever had! All he does is read off the powerpoint slides made by the book publisher and occasionally adds random comments. He's very vague about what the tests are on and the tests are only made of ten questions so if you miss one, your grade goes down a letter grade. Very big on grammar in essays.
He DOESN'T teach. All he do is read off the damn powerpoint. How the hell did he become a professor?
Class was easy but kinda boring. He read off the power point everytime, and they are posted on his site. You don't really do that much for this class, so midterm and final determines a lot of your grade. Each test had 10 questions, so study what he says. On the day for review sit in the FRONT to hear what he says to study, because he speaks very low
Pretty good professor.
Very boring, but very EASY. CEO paper & presentation, and other case studies. Takes points off if you read off your paper. Answers for tests (10 questions) are right off the slides. During review, listen to which topics are on the test and memorize just the info for those topics.
reads powerpoints everyday some group presentations ... don't really learn that much ... don't need to take this class ... just listen in his 5 min review of whats on the test
this class is boring, but just take your computer and everything is solved. to the midterm and final you have to study exactly what he tell you. know it by heart. if you do this you will pass his class. the first month of this class you will have to write a 5 page essay on you future plans which happens to be 10% of your grade.
Most boring class ever! It is all lecture and the only grades you get is on the midterm and final. There are no assignments except 2 group projects. Lectures are up online to print out so you can study for midterm and final. Besides that...class is VERY BORING! He takes attendance too.
This class was by far the most easiest class ever taken at State. It was so easy I did all the assignments and studied for the two exams the day before they were due. It cant get much easie than that. Bring a laptop, you'll need it.
First midterm had only 9 questions. Prof expects students to remember 6 chapters in detail. Told students to study specific topics and not to study anything else but on day of midterm threw questions that weren't specified. Prof was good but read ratings on here and got butt hurt. Now taking it out on new students.
3 papers and 2 presentations. Study everything he tells you. The exam is a lot of memorization and missing one question can easily cost you your "A". Doesn't give +/-. Getting an "A" seems rather impossible.
He just lectures.. has super boring voice. I got an A on all the assignments he has and i still failed the class. His midterm and final are open ended questions that are really hard.
1 midterm and 1 final. Tests are unbelievably ridiculous (not in a good way). A few questions asking you to list obscure information from the textbook. Requires attendance to hear him read slides in a monotone voice and put you to sleep. He criticizes unions but its teachers like him who gain tenure and union protection from performance evaluation
Very easy class. Lectures very boring; has a monotone voice. Lecture content interesting since based on experience. 2 Group Projects each w/ presentation. Exams are very easy. 10 question tests; study EXACTLY and ONLY what he goes over during review and you will get a good grade. Anal on grammar and spelling on the 2 papers. Lenient on exam grading
Uses a lot of powerpoint slides. Class may be boring and he takes attendence. Be prepared to be bored in class but it's an easy A. Do well on group projects (easy) and study for the test (easy) and you'll do fine. Funny guy sometimes.
Very easy. He'll tell you what's going to be on the final as the review. Just study what he tells you and he'll pick ten of those items to be on the midterm and/or final. Bring a laptop with you to keep yourself awake. I BSed two papers and easily earned Bs for them. If you like Family Guy, he sounds just like Joe.
Don't waste your $115-$140 for a textbook. Everything he goes over are on slides which can be found on his website that he gives you on the syllabus. I'm glad I wasn't one of those who bought a textbook.
Lectures are generally very boring and he gets side tracked often. The exams are not too difficult, but he takes attendance so you should show up to get a good grade. 2 Group projects accompanied by oral presentations. Nice guy, easy to approach.
Good, light hearted professor with a true heart for the material. Makes some funny side comments here and there but they do get repetitive. 10 question final. Overall it was easy, but also easy to mess up.
Easy A. 2 presentations which you can use the same material for the second presentation. one exam, one final. He gives 20 questions beforehand, and tests on about 10 of them. Short answers. I only used the text to lookup the sections he mentioned in the review. Lectures are very boring, but you have to attend because he takes role every time.
Horrible Teacher. His class is easy but is hella boring. All he does is go over power points that you can get online. He does not care for students. Do not waste your time on this teacher because thats all it is. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.
This class was boring but easy. All he does is lecture from powerpoint slides which is boring but attendance is important. His tests are difficult if you don't study but if you study what he tells you to you'll hae no problem. He likes it when people participate. He tends to make people feel like idiots but its funy (when its not you).
he would often say " piece of cake" he would hardly teach at all. All he did was go through slides and would frequently go off topic about the 50 million jobs he had in his lif, his passion for airplanes annd whatnot. He makes everything seem so simple yet both his midterm and final were hard as hell
Professor Gilliss's class was probably the best class I have ever had. He is a genious. I graduated from SJSU in '05 and I still find myself talking about his class till this day. You might not learn much about business in his class; however, you will learn plenty of life lessons. "Were talking about bank accounts that start with the letter B."
I hate this class and the teacher even more
He is a really cool teacher. He uses his powerpoint slides a lot which is really useful because they are easy to study off of. Not too many assignments but you do have a few group projects.
you dont have to go to class...slides are boring...just show up to do projects and for review days...dont need book...but still hard to get an A
I feel bad for the people that think his exams were hard because they must have zero intelligence. The guy told us EXACTLY what the test questions were on review days, and people still struggled? There are 10 questions on the exam. Some questions required a three word response for full credit! "It is so easy, it's unbelievable."
pretty easy class..funny guy.. tells a lot of stories..just pay attention in class and on review days..2 projects few essays
this teacher was very easy.disregaurd those who say other wise. i barely went to class and i still got an A make sure you go on the two review days one for midterm and one for the final. you will have a personal essay and two group projects.make sure you pick your groups right because you're stuck with them the whole year. make sure you study mejpl
cool guy, but never got up from his chair. you literally come to class and sit there while he goes over the slids. easy class, with 10 questions on midterm and final. just do ur projects and ull do great.
To the 6/1/09 comment: you fault the guy for not getting out of his chair when he just had knee surgery and is on crutches? Wow. ◙ Gilliss has good philosophy on how to run a business, listen and you might learn a thing or two. Also, mention that you enjoy eating at the elephant bar for extra points.
With the motto "I'd rather be flying", aviation enthusiast Gilliss navigates his class through PowerPoints, but sometimes gets off-course with his Costco shopping experience insights. The airframe of Gilliss' lecturing enthusiasm exhibits fatigue. Stares at the wall or sleeps in the chair during office hour. Enjoy your flight! <B6>
The most boring class ever. It's easy but you won't learn anything. IF you want easy A, take him. If you want to continue with ur Business major, please don't take this class... or at least take the class with another professor.
Takes attendance everyday, most people walk out after their name is called. Uses PPT everyday. Don't buy the txt book, mine is still wraped in plastic and I ended up with a B. Just use his PPTs off his website and answer the questions on his study guide. VERY EASY BUT VERY BORING CLASS.
he takes attendance every class. Lectures can be boring, but he sure brightens up the class with his jokes/comments. He's funny!so there is 1 midterm, 1 final, & 2 group projects. Tests are easy. Just make sure you go to the review. It's usually a week before the test. For the most part, you'll be fine if you just MEMORIZE the review sheet.
awesome professor. Knows what he's teaching backwards and forwards. Makes you really understand with real world examples relating to topic at hand. I took Professor Gilliss 3 times FOR DIFFERENT courses at SJSU I think I learned more in his classes than I did throughout my career at san jose state. I recommend taking as many of his classes asap.
This class was pretty chill. His assignments are not difficult. Pick good teammates for the two group projects and show up for class and answer a few of his questions and you will pass. He likes to talk about Airplanes and Costco.
Lectures very boring.
Teaches off of ppt. Final grade is composed of 2 exams, 2 group project, and participation/attendance. Gives a review(orally) the class before the exam, so make sure right the questions down. 10 of those questions will be on the exam, so memorize it!!! Class can get boring, so people leave during break time. He MIGHT take attendance a second time.
Professor Gillis can be very boring as he reads his slides each class but was well worth taking the class from him. He will let you know exactly what to study for his exams and only study what he says. The two projects were fun, but I had a good group. Although you may not think it's important to show up for class, do it, it's worth it.
Had him for both business 140 and 10. One of the easiest teachers. He even says you can probably pass the class without using the book. Got an A in both of them.
This class is relatively easy, show up (attendance MATTERS!), take notes or print out the powerpoints, and do the two group projects. No homework at all and only one midterm and one final, all of which he gives you basically 20 questions and 10 of them are on the test. Really easy and you do not need the book
I don't see how he even got this high rating. He can't teach. He reads powerpoints created from the textbook company and has ALL of it from the beginning of the semester. Gives one or two examples and moves on to reading. I basically paid for a couple of powerpoints and a person to read them to me. Book is useless, get good teammates for group work
All he does is read powerpoints, which you can easily download and read by yourself. Really judgmental and has a short term memory. You'll find yourself listening to the same thing. If you don't bring your computer... you just sit there and stay at nothing. Two HUGE[!] papers, 5 page then 15 page[both group], and a midterm and final.
I basically paid for someone to read me power points. Waste of time/money, but if your down to just have a chill class, then I this is for you. Pick a reliable group, because there's 2 big group projects. Pretty boring if you ask me. He takes nice pictures though!
He has zeal and genuine compassion to better not only his students but anyone around him which is unmatched. Any project, task, advice, or lecture is 100% retained and every student departs his presence motivated and more knowledgeable. It was/is more than an honor to have him as a professor, coach, and approachable subject matter expert.
Positive: Funny guy. Does not grade too hard. Negative: Does not teach very well, everything is from slides.
highly charismatic teacher, well liked. grades fair, tests are memorized and he gives you a study guide what's exactly on the midterm. easy A.
He is very nice and easy going on assignments. Have him check your essay before you turn it in to raise your grade about 5%. Don't need the text book, but make sure you download all the power points. 3 big assignments through out the semester.
Yeah, uhhh that was a good deal you know... This guy is too funny. If you want to learn about the best deals in life take the class. If you want to learn about how fun flying an airplane is take the class. If you want to learn about business 10. Take the class but expect to be bored going through powerpoints. He is funny though.
Funny guy with lots of stories, sometimes gets off topic. Tells you exactly what's on the tests. A few papers & group projects. Would take more classes taught by him if available.
He's a really easy going teacher. Boring lectures because all he does is go over powerpoints in class but he takes role so if you want participation points, you have to go. Two group projects, midterm, final. He gives you everything you need to know for the test. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS B4 TURNING IN PAPERS. It can raise your grade ALOT.
Gilliss is hilarious. Maybe it was just the class I was in, but he made his class fun with all his stories. It's so easy to get him off topic too. Basically, if you go to class and he knows who you are, you will pass. And he tells you exactly what will be on the midterm and final the class before.
He is a fairly permissive teacher. No homework except for two group projects, a midterm, and final. He tells you EVERYTHING that will be on the midterm/ final. Attendance is mandatory but afterwards, you can slumber into oblivion because all he does is go over PowerPoints which can be easily accessed at home. Overall, easy teacher and easy A.
A lot of people bash this guy for reading off of powerpoints all the time. It's not a problem. The class, Bus10, is just stupid in general. His method of teaching works fine. Overall, easy class and a very funny teacher with dry humor.
Professor Gilliss is an easy going guy. In class you take notes off powerpoints which he makes available online. There are three assinments: three papers, two of which are group projects. Has a midterm and final that are each ten questions. He gives answers to tests in class so I recommend good attendence. Infomational class, I enjoyed it!
He is very easy. He uses power points in all of his classes and gives you the questions for the midterm and final. He is great for visual learners.
He is a very relaxed professor and tell you what you need to know and study. I would recommend him to anyone interested in Business.
Very knowledgeable prof and knows a lot of cool things.lecture can be long and boring but the midterms and final are easy.Attendance is required which sucked but overall I had no problems with the professor as he was very laid back. Very easy to get a B. A is attainable but you have to be near perfect .
class is ridiculously boring, all he does is sit in his chair and read off the powerpoint slides. the tests however are based on the book chapters so you NEED to read! tests are hard. but there is no homework besides the project and required assignment. he takes roll all the time though so showing up to class is mandatory for participation grade.
Hated this class. So boring, teacher went over slides the entire time and repeated the same stuff. Was really unhelpful with testing & never told us what to study for. 2 papers & one ridiculous group project. Ended up with a C. Avoid if you can.
Just a horrible teacher. Listening to his lecture actually hurts because most of the time what he says is irrelevant, wrong, or inaccurate. It's best to space out and study from the book on your own time. Winter session: 2 tests, 2 group papers and presentations.
He's not the best professor and not easy. All his tests are MC and he gets it from the Author, so he doesnt create the questions. He loves to talk about himself and planes, so class is almost pointless and boring. READ THE BOOK!! Thats the only way you can get an A... If you dont like reading books then go find yourself another professor...
This class is the worst experience I've had at sjsu so far. All he does is go off on random tangents for 40 minutes, and then he jokes during the entire class. So many students ask him questions about assignments during class and he does not provide them with any legitimate answers. He does not know how to use the d2l system at all.
The subject matter can be a bit boring, but the midterms and final are pretty easy if you read and study the textbook and power point. Attendance is required, participation helps your grade. The professor is laid back and has a funny, dry sense of humor. Two group presentations. It is easy to get a B if you read the textbook. A is attainable.
Gilliss is super hilarious, but doesn't teach. He now gives harder tests because his boss yelled at him for giving everyone A's so make sure you read the book.
Most of the professors I had in my business classes were good or very good but he was the worst by far. Extremely unorganized and rude. I didn't learned anything valuable (got a B). Just study from the textbook. He didn't teach anything during the first 2 months (he made us read the textbook during class) after that he just read of PPTs. AVOID
Gilliss is a good guy and he's really funny. But he can't teach and he's extremely lazy. He goes off on tangents in class. He goes over powerpoints in class after we've already been assigned to read them at home. Definitely do not recommend taking him if you want to learn anything valuable but there are definitely worse professors out there.
I feel like he should never have gone into the teaching profession. He would often go off on 40 minute tangents during class, and he was not helpful when you tried to talk to him after class. He can be downright insulting when you email him,and more often than not he will reply with one sentence responses. He did not understand the school's software
Don't take him! 50 questions for 11 chapters midterm..WTH He gives no study guide and he doesn't know how to teach. Final is 100 questions accumulative.
Worst professor ever! I haven't learned anything in this class. The midterm is 50 questions, he does not give a study guide, and the "review" is a joke, just read all the 12 chapters. Final is 100 questions cumulative, and the review was, well, not helpful. Expect to fall asleep, expect to fail, he wont help you. Apparently failing the test is ok.
Absolutely the worst teacher I have ever taken. Is a good man, but can not teach at all. He is always distracted when he talks, never stays on topic. Didn't learn a single thing in this class, expect to fail!
He is one of the worst professors I have ever had in college. He is horrible at teaching (if he even teaches at all). He literally spends half an hour to take attendance and set up, then goes off tangent about airplanes and hockey. He finally gets to reading straight off the powerpoint. He is somewhat mean/rude in person and through email.
He takes half of the class talking about airplanes and taking attendance. There are 3 tests plus the final and one group project. He basically just reads off the publisher's lectures..so its basically a self taught class. His tests are multiple choice and very long. Hard, self taught class.
do NOT take this guys class if your life depended on it! He is the WORST teacher ever! Choose someone that actually LIKES supply chain/ops and wants to teach it to you and make sure you understand it.. this guy really doesn't care if you understand the material.. he would rather talk about airplanes/hockey/his latest costco trip.. you were warned!!
Horrible professor. If you want an A in the class you have to read the book. A good 750 pages of tiny text...Self-taught, can't rely on ppt slides. Waste of time to show up to class
Spent half of class taking role and talking about airplanes. Was always behind on going over the slides before the exam. only tells you some key topics before exam (no Study guide). Most frustrating and stressful professor ever. Only took him cause i needed another class for 12 units. I suggest not taking him unless you NEED it
Reviews are accurate. Lectures are consistently behind by two chapters or so, leaving you unprepared for the test. In addition to this, I though this was an aviation or automotive class based upon lecture material. He will also give snarky responses to questions. Read the book, and try to guess what's in his left breast pocket during lecture.
Typically you can work your way around professors shortfalls. In the case of David Gilliss Bus 140 course that is extremely difficult. Avoid his course at all costs! He reads straight from the publishers power points and does exams and one group project. There are very few opportunities for points so do the reading.
Horrible class. 3 midterms (50 MC), cumulative final, one group paper. Verbal review of midterms and final. Half exam covered on review, other half a surprise. Briefly explain slides in simple terms then tests on complicated concepts. You have to read the book and its huge w fine print. Recommend studying for 2 weeks before exam. IF FORCED TO TAKE
honestly this guy is amazing yeah he likes talking about planes( now that you know that make that something that you can talk to him about) his test are cold cut out of the book nothing more or less. I cannot see anyone failing if they just show up to class. I missed like 4 days and he was cool about it. funny guy and will write a letter of rec.
Yes, he talks more about airplanes than the actual class material. He goes off on tangents, takes 20 minutes to take roll, and is an incredibly boring professor. 3 midterms, one group project, and a final. On the plus side he curves your final grade and lets you use your phone as a "calculator" for all your exams.
You need the textbook, but can get away with 7th international version. Attendance is taken, but class time is worthless. Use class time to read the book, as you have to read the whole thing. Doesn't answer questions at all. 3 Exams + 1 Final + 1 Group Project. Tests are really hard -- avg is about 68 each test, but grade is curved at the end.
Book is not needed for this class. All you need is your smartphone. Gives 3 midterm, 1 final, and a group project. Group project free A because everyone gets 90 and above. Midterm and final go on his website on your phone and follow along his power point slides. close book close note open phone. Easy teacher!
No study guide for tests. Lectures are pointless, just read the book. Likes to take 30 mins to take roll. Lots of work experience and practical info. Not the best teacher but not bad either.
Read the book from cover to cover. Class is only important to find out what topics he wont test. Lectures are long and dry. Reads straight from power points. Tests are curved.
Attendance/participation is part of the grade. He's constantly late and takes forever to start the lecture and when he does, it's all reading from the PowerPoint. He will go on stupid tangents about planes and cars. His deep voice and 0 passion for teaching will put the entire class to sleep. Easy grader on group projects and curves at the end.
Hörrible absolutely travesty he taught us absolutely Zero, Nöthing , we Had to learn 100% from the books. Stacy Seat, beware.
This is a self-taught class. He offers zero engagement with the students. Prof. reads straight from the slides. Lectures are long and boring. Beware of the cheaters. Avoid his class, if it is possible.
One of the worst professors I've ever had at SJSU. He goes over his slides that he got from the publisher of the book, when the slides are messed up he complains that its the publishers fault. Hes extremely lazy, and a very boring lecturer. He takes attendance like 5 times the whole semester, but your better off just reading the book.
Not clear. Doesn't come prepared for class. I wouldn't recommend this teacher.
Avoid if possible. Tests on stuff that he doesn't even teach, so you need to read the book. Unprepared and late to class.
Terrible. All the other bad reviews are spot on. Avoid this teacher, I can't believe he is getting paid for this. He really puts no effort and curves the entire class to a 2.7 because he says that the university can't have too many people get A's. Avoid.
ALL he does is read from the PowerPoint slides. Word-for-word When it comes time to write the case paper, make sure to ask him 10 times what formatting he wants. Because he doesn't post it. Also remember that a company is 'it' NOT they. He will take off a ton of points off your paper. I would avoid him if you can. Super boring class.
Don't take him unless he's the only available professor. Extremely boring lecturer, he reads off the PowerPoint which he gets from the book publisher. Often talks about planes, Tesla, Elon Musk and the once NUMI plant in Fremont. He curves but at the end after your raw grade is calculated after taking the final. Pick good group for project.
Just read the book and the slides before the exams and attend the review session and you'll be alright. There are 2 group projects. Make sure you proof read it before submitting and use the format he wants. Use proper pronouns. for company, use IT not THEY Multiple choice exams. participation is based on attendance.
Don't take this class. Seriously. I saw these reviews and thought "it wont be so bad", well, I was wrong. He is terrible. Class average was an F for the first two tests. He will curve the entire class to a 2.7 at the end of the semester, so you won't really know where you stand. Seriously though, don't take this guy. (I usually get good grades btw)
Attend the class, do the group projects, read the book and the slides and you should get an A. The first 2 midterms were hard. The third was OK. Finals was easy . He gives study guides before exam make sure you don't miss that class day.I averaged B- on the three midterms, B+ on projects, perfect attendanceand I guess did good on finals.I got an A
There are three midterms, two group projects that includes a presentation in the last one and a final. The top 10 students get an A in class, the next 10 get a B, and the rest a C. The only way to really get a good grade is read the book, which he constantly reminds to do. Use the publisher's website for practice questions, which he uses some.
Would give this guy no ratings if possible. Basically, you must teach yourself ALL material since he just reads off a textbook powerpoint. Also, if you want to learn about Elon Musk and lawnmowers and Pontaic Aztecs, which has nothing to do with this class, sign up. Watching paint dry is more entertaining than this guy's teaching style.
not the easiest but not the hardest professor ive taken. group projects are pretty easy, exams are pretty hard (class average is a D). curved at the end. lecture are pretty boring, but attendance is mandatory (takes roll). instructions on group assignments are very vague, but his office hours are useful.
Very monotone and boring. Seems like he really don't want to be there. The tests are pretty difficult, make sure you study the textbook and teach the course material to yourself. The group projects aren't terribly difficult, and he curves the class at the end of the semester. Unfortunately you won't know your grade until the very end.
