He is a funny guy but the class tends to be dry. I never knew what to study for and your overall grade is based on percentiles which makes it very annoying because you are competing with other people for your grade He also goes on long unnecessary rants during lecture. Not a great teacher/class overall.

Lectures were all over the place. Wouldn't even show up to many lectures and would have his TA do the lecture. Study guides were given before every test, but a lot of what was on it wouldn't be on the exam and instead stuff that was not on the study guide would be. Grading scale is bad. 97 for A, 94 for A-. A 90 works out to a B, not even a B+.

he is super funny, he is a silly little old man and he seems like a sweetie. however, his class sucked. the chapters are soooooo longwinded and the lectures have even more information, that unless ur passionate abt public health its so so boring. save urself. he seems like the nicest man ever, but god i am fighting for my life in this class.

He changed the format of the class since last fall. The exams are 50 mc and in person. Exams and readiness quizzes are the only grades in the class. There's a lot of info covered in the text book and in lectures. If ur passionate abt pub health u will enjoy this class but if ur not it's awful. Lectures are very boring. Exams are kinda hard

Avoid this class if possible. Took as an elective because it looked interesting not knowing it would be my most time consuming class by far. Grades are made of only tests and quizzes with LONG weekly readings. Exams were hard and not reflective of lectures of reading. This class was frustrating for me, TAs were most helpful resource.

I have split views about him and his class. He can be funny and try's to engage students. There are weekly tests with 5 questions and 7 min time limit(you cant find those answers online). 3 exams throughout the semester. No extra credit. Found this textbook online. Hard course for elective.

Goes on tangents in class about breast cancer and stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with the exams. He gives readiness quizzes and claims the questions are from the textbook and they proceed to have nothing to do with the chapters. You just have to guess and pray on the exams because the questions don't correlate to anything he talks about.

He honestly is a nice and funny guy, I think he changed his format because tests are not open note. You can chatgpt the readiness quizzes idk why everyones complaining. You definitely need to lock in for exams since those are heavily weighed, but he is a fair grader and gives extra points. You will be reading a lot tho!

Do not take this class unless you absolutely have to or love public health it is a lot of reading and very confusing. The concepts are boring and hard to understand. However, Dr. Gregorio is a great teacher and a hilarious guy who truly cares about this subject so if you are interested in public health you will probably enjoy him and this class.

This class was too hard for an elective and the weekly readings were long and tedious. There are 10 readiness quizzes worth 5 points each but you can use ChatGPT to get 100%. Lectures are boring and weren't helpful to me, I felt like I taught myself all of the material. Grade is based primarily off of 4 50pt exams and he doesn't give extra credit.

Not the worst class to take, but don't take it unless it is required. A LOT of reading, and I highly recommend reading the textbook or you are set up for failure. Class is graded by 10, 5 point readiness quizzes and 4 50 point non-cumulative exams. First exam is extremely difficult, but the rest of the exams, as well as readiness quizzes were easy.

This class was my favorite this semester! Gregorio is hilarious and makes lectures interesting. This class is pretty test heavy, and there is no HW except for readiness quizzes that you take on the chapter you are supposed to read before class. Do your readings and you'll do great in this class. He also tends to give out free points on Exams.

If you're interested in public health, this class is a 4, but if just taking as an elective DON'T do it. PUBH has lots of reading and exams are hard, including specific questions from lecture. The 4 exams aren't cumulative though and only on 3 chapters each time. Gregorio's also a sweet old man and curves your final grade. The final was online.

Gregorio is a sweet, funny professor with a lot of passion. This class is very interesting but a lot of work for an elective and he “yaps” a lot, although it's educational…make sure to take good notes as the exams can be tricky and content loaded. Extra credit/free points can be gained if you attend review sessions and pay attention to him

Nervous at the beginning of the semester but overall the class was not too difficult if you read the textbook and took notes during lecture. There are 4 exams and a online quiz for each chapter to take prior to the lecture. Moderately difficult but info is in the texbook. Biggest piece of advice...GO TO THE TA'S REVIEW SESSIONS. So so helpful.

I recently found out that last few years this class had open notes and textbooks on exams. This recently changed. I only took this course as an "easy a" according to my advisor as an incoming freshman. The exams itself are very confusing, I also dont understand what he is talking about half the time in the lectures. no point is made..

Gregorio cares a lot about public health and his lectures. Some can be boring, but that depends on whether you enjoy public health or not. The exams are not very hard, but make sure to go to the TA review sessions before the exams. The TA will be very helpful and probably share things about the exam. Overall, a decent class that isn't too hard.

Definitely go to lectures. I honestly enjoyed this class a lot. Grades determined by readiness quizzes (info from textbooks) and exams, with extra credit points available in the form of discussion posts. He's very passionate about this topic and likes to relate it to the current world. Reading is genuinely not bad, and helps with the exams!

The professor recently changed the way he runs the course. Your grade is based on 4 exams (not the easiest to study for). There are 10 mandatory quizzes, but he considers them extra credit; I missed a quiz to go to my best friend's funeral, and he didn't let me make it up because it was "extra credit" and "wasn't fair to the other students".
