He is very likeable and positive. However, it is hard to get used to lecture being after doing the homework instead of before. He has daily quizes that help your average if you do well. His final is hard.

He is very patronizing, hard, and smart. His tests are way above the material in the book. But in all fairness so are his quizes. If you are an "A" student, you will most likely make a "B" in his class.

Gustafson is cool...he gives you the month's daily assignments ahead of time and then does anything on the board you need help with...he wore a tupee on Halloween! Fun guy.

This is the best math teacher I have ever had. he explains things so clear. He is more than willing to work with you outside of class so you grasp the concept. Gives partial credit as well. I recommend him to anyone ,who needs TLC with math concepts.

The best math teacher I've ever had(and I've had plenty).It is possible to get an A in his class,but be ready to study the material THOROUGHLY and check the answers on your tests at least 5 times.He makes you think hard,but never ever comes up with test questions over something he didn't explain in class.

Mr. G was an awesome teacher! He broke things down to make them really simple to understand and he had such a great sense of humor! It really helped the class go by smoothly.

I hated math but thanks to Mr. G, I changed my major to math. The best math teacher I have ever had. If you take him during the summer he gives a review before the test, now the review pass the test. During a regular semester we always review befor the test. If you want to learn take him you definetly will.

Calc 1...Early report. Taking final next week for summer term. Homework every class session. Calculus is hard. He does everything in his power to convey every aspect. Instruction is unbeatable. He is never wrong when working on board! Tests can be very tricky, and answers are off the wall numbers so be careful. Can't wait to take cal 3 with him.

Dr. G is the best. I plan on taking him for as many of my math credits as possible. He explains everything and if you don't understand, he will explain again. Teaches you several tricks to help you understand Algebra

Mr G is really sweet. He's funny & he knows his stuff. He's not like a lot of Math prof where you end up teaching them. HOWEVER, he IS hard. If you take an upper level class w/ him he expects u 2 know ur stuff & memorize ALL formulas (up 2 30+). I & many people failed the first test. You will really have to work in this class if ur not math minded.

Mr. G is the best teacher to have if you're not strong in math (like me and most of my classmates). He moves things along at a brisk pace, but loves answering questions and is great at clearing up any confusion. Highly recommended.

I've had Mr. G for three semesters and he is the man. If you don't grasp a concept, he'll go to great lengths to convey it to you. He is extremely approachable and eager to help. Tests and quizzes can be tricky but if you've worked hard prior to taking them you should do fine. EXCELLENT PROF!

Mr Gustafson is a brilliant teacher,extremely organized and very articulate in his teaching methods, he provides the class with quizzes and work as a review towards his exams..I took 2 math classes with him and words are not enough to describe his amazing teaching style...very funny too

Mr. G is absolutely the most patient professor that exists. He will explain anything you ask and not make you feel stupid. He provides you with study material for the tests and it is necessary to do the homework. He doesn't require it but it will make the tests easier.

I loved this teacher. I would have taken him again if his class didn't fill up so quickly. He makes sure you understand and he has a great sense of humor. For 0350, we didn't have to turn in our homework but I recommend you do it anyways. As long as you work hard, you will pass. I got an A in this class. :)

I hate math but I really enjoyed this teacher!!!!!! He is great! He will explain anything you need him to and he will give you all the questions that are on the test! I'm awful at math and I got a B in the class! I will really miss him next semester.Take him, you'll love it!

He was the most well rounded professor I have ever known, very organized, articulate, however due to the fact that he is so great he can be hard to get a hold of on occasion, but try hard and he will do the same for you. Best math teacher ever. 1st Quiz(Pre Cal), I only got 3/11(my last math was 10 years ago) but I worked hard all semester and got A in his class. His lectures are short just enough to cover homework but very easy to understand (same as Patrick on Youtube). My class begining over 30 and only 13 on the final Exam. Thanks Mr G. I really learn subject.

I absolutely LOVE this professor. I had him for calc 1 during the summer at 7am. This should speak for itself. One of the best professors I have ever had. He made the class interesting and was extremely patient. He gives quite a bit of hw, but nothing unmanageable. In the end, I also felt that I had really learned the subject. :)

Mr. G is awesome! One of the best teachers I have ever had. I hate math with a passion, but he made it enjoyable and for once I actually understood it. He's always willing to help outside of class and overall is just a nice man. You can't go wrong with him. Final was hard, but quizzes helped make up for it. He is the best!

Took him for Calc 1 at 7am in the summer. He is amazing! It is extremely hard and discouraging at times but stick it out until the end. TRUST ME! His tests start with easy questions and get very hard towards the end. I worked the tests backwards so when my brain was exhausted, I had only easy questions left. Study with notecards. Best teacher evah!

A very interesting teacher. Knows math like the back of his hand. Uses the book for hw probs, howevr they are not taken up for a grade. Gives out plenty of in class quizes and take home quizes. Exams are difficult, but if you've looked over the quizes, you'll be just fine. He's pretty cool and funny also. :)

Great teacher!!!! If your not strong in math do the homework!!! Personly after the first week I did no homework and have passed every thing just off of class notes. But if you miss a class its no fun playing catch up.

Great teacher and he's really easy going and likes to joke around. He gives a lot of quizzes but the more quizzes mean more grades he'll drop so it'll raise your final grade.

I took Mr.G for intermediate algebra & had to get him for college algebra. I never really had an interest in math until I took him. Now I love it. His teaching method is VERY effective. He breaks down every problem step by step. & he also gives reviews for every exam. Homework is not required but it'll benefit u when u take the quizzes.

Mr G is nice and helpful professor.30 quizzes w/2 quizzes/week.NOT EASY A.Each test has 7 pages with about 50 problems.Final split into 2 days.Only 4 got A.Overall he's good prof but if you expect easy class,this is not!

Mr. G is an awesome professor!! I took him summer 1 at 7am. this class is NOT easy in any way but he is very helpful. You MUST study and do the homework. You have 30 daily quizzes which he averages and replaces your lowest test score. His test are not easy bit come straight from the hw and quizzes. Definitely recommend him!!!!!

He was a great teacher. I absolutely hate math and am horrible at it, but he explained it well and I was able to pass the class. Anyone who gives him a bad review does so because they failed and it was their fault. He is strict about attendance, and does not let you make up tests unless you have a very good reason for missing it.

If you want to really learn calculus than take him. He is an awesome professor! Studying is a MUST!!

I love this guy. Explains everything really well and puts in in real life examples so you can understand how this relates to real life.Very patient and willing to spend plenty of time with you.

I took him for Cal I over Summer I. The class was very intense and it wasn't easy. However, he explains things very well and goes over every single detail of problems. You will learn a lot of math in his class. Gave 30 quizzes and averaged your highest 20 to replace a test grade. HW not mandatory. I got a B.

Mr. Gustafson's command of mathematics will blow your mind. He only made a handful of trivial mistakes on the board. That's the upside. The downside is most of you are not prepared. The precalculus quiz on DAY ONE is a good indicator. You will probably fail it. Brace yourself. Also, I love the anecdotes on the quizzes. You will see plenty!

Mr. G is the best math teacher I have ever had. He turned me into an ACE grapher :)Oh, and by the way, if you are dependent upon your calculator, lose the habit! He let us use a calculator ONE time, and it had to be a scientific calculator--not graphing!

It honestly brings tears to my eyes. He will sit down with you and explain everything and is in no hurry. Simply loves to teach.

I took him for Maymester. It was an intense 11 day class. It was fast couple of days. He gave a lot of pop quizzes after reviewing several times different examples.He lets you take, take home quizzes & finals. Reviews the final the nxt day with you too. I reviewed & followed along,I left that class understanding everything & a 100 as my grade.

I failed his class because of personal difficulties. I thought he was a great professor though and signed up to take him again. He fully explains problems and doesn't mind going over them again if you need more help. He is pretty funny as far as math humor goes, which is needed for a 3.5 hr class at 8am.

Can't speak on his teaching style because people learn math differently but I can say his test are easy, 2-3 stompers BUT if you do your mymathlab you should do well. Math requires practice. PPL in my class failed cause they didnt do the work. Plain & simple. He doesn't give xtra credit or drop low scores. He's funny and I would take him again.

Professor was very helpful and patient.If you do not remember college algebra you may have some problems. Study is must and it is not easy.Overall, I would recommend professor Gustafson if you are serious student.

Mr. G is one of the best Math professors you could ask for. Take him if you want to learn. Calculus I really clear and easy with him. He works a lot of problems in class, helps out with the hardest ones and gives reviews for test. He also has a lot humoristic comments so you won't be bored in his class.

5 tests, drops 1 and replaces it with avg quiz grades(drops 5-10 lowest quiz grades for quiz avg) He cares about his students. This guy is the equivalent of risenhoover. if youre struggling in his class, then u might wanna change majors to a non-math related one. cause lets face it, calc is easy. so yeah, this guy's perfect. 333

Mr G is a great teacher! His lectures are clear and he is humorous which makes them interesting. Calculus is not the easiest subject but he definitely makes it as easy as it can be.

I took him for a Maymester for calculus. You must consider that this is a whole semester being put into two weeks. Do expect tons of homework and pop quizzes. The great thing is that Mr. G is very easy to understand. I would suggest taking him IF you plan to put in the effort. He gives the resources to make an A, you must study to get it.

His methods are effective and have been extremely helpful! I have genuinely enjoyed my time with him and I would recommend to anyone, on any level! He is that good. You don't have to be a math wiz to be successful because he will know how to guide you regardless.

Professor Gustafson Is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. He teaches math in a fun, easy to understand, and layman way. Calc is not an easy subject so go to class every day or you won't grasp the concepts well. Expect lots of homework and quizzes. Above all don't skip and visit his office hours if you have ANY problems.

What the COB?! lol He is by far one of the best math teachers, I have ever taken in my life but make no mistake that this is a hard course and requires discipline, commitment, and lots of studying to have a good handle over business cal. He's very helpful and the math lab there will be your best friend. Study hard and show up and you will pass:)

Mr. G is Hilarious, by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He has a special way of explaining math that makes you understand it without going crazy. He gives approximately 24 quizzes thought the semester, but they aren't hard if you follow along with his in class. You will do A LOT of homework, but it helps you understand the work.

Mr. Gustafson was spirited and very knowledgeable during lectures. Will quiz nearly every class, BUT does not collect homework (so optional). However, this class is VERY difficult without doing the homework so good luck. Mr. G is a fair grader and he puts forth his best effort to make sure we understand so that we can succeed.

I took this class as a europium/mymath class. Every test you have to make a 70 or above to pass the test. No exceptions on the test! and sometimes that was difficult. Didn't have the option for ABC choice either on test. Homework was necessary to pass the class&test. He would help with any questions, But basically the computer is your teacher.

Gustafson is a caring, respectful, intimidating, and great instructor. Quizzes almost everyday, since its a summer class Amazing lectures. Do the hmwk to do well on quizzes, tests are brutal so study his quizzes and hwmk. Calchat, alot of studying, and the folks in the mathlab are key to doing well in any Calculus class. Would take again!

One of the all-time best professors I have EVER taken!!!!!! Mr G explains all of the necessary material, is really funny, and cares about your success. Not a class for an easy A; tests very difficult, quizzes every day of class, and text book is needed (expect lots of homework).

I took the ALEKS based Development math course with him as lead. He cheers you on, is helpful, and gets you headed in the right direction. I was terrible at math but I passed this class with an A. Not easy but not difficulty if you put in the work.

I loved Professor G's class. I'm not great at math, but he explained Calculus as in a way I could understand. He does give a lot of quizzes, homework, etc. But if you do the work, you'll do alright. He really does care - great guy. I'd take this class again in a heartbeat.

This class is hard and requires daily studying/HW, but Prof Gustafson was the best! He doesn't make it easy or cut corners, you have to put in the work, but he cares about his students and he works so many problems out on the board. Show up to class and commit to doing the work. Prof G knows his stuff. Take advantages of the quizzes!

FAV PROF EVER!!! Mr. G genuinely cares about everyone passing. 18-24 quizzes total. Only uses the top 16 averaged to replace the lowest test grade. 4 tests and the final exam. Also uses a Student Instructor for additional tutoring. Not easy, but he worked hard to help us every way he could. SI helped too. Took as Maymester. Not for faint of heart.

Calculus is hard regardless of the teacher you take. As an aspiring engineer, I put all my focus on this, which is why I made the grade I made. While homework is not mandatory, it is helpful to do it for the quizzes. What you put in is what you get out. I personally liked Mr. G. He made Calculus easy. Brush up on your Algebra and Trig skills !!
