good teacher
He is very good at getting it all to sink in!

Very helpful and a great teacher!
Good teacher, very positive. Obviously likes math and very helpful.
made everything really clear. he told a lot of cheesy math jokes...but i thought they were funny.
Pretty cool for a math teacher. I showed up late to the final and he still let me take it. Good sense of humor and likes math a little TOO much, but I guess thats good since he is a math teacher. :)
This is my third term with Dave. Dave is a wonderful teacher, and always ensures that his students understand the material.
dave is one of the best math teachers of all time. he explains things in a way that is easy to relate to everyone. yet, he has enough knowledge of the subject to be able to answer technical questions and relate it to a higher level of math as necessary. awesome teacher!
Dave Hall is awesome! He's very nice, helpful and flexible: for instance, if you haven't finished your test in the allotted time, he lets you still take as much time after as you need to finish it. Be careful though, his tests are what most of the grade is based on so if you're a bad tester...
He wasn't as hard as my friends led me to believe but he wasn't as clear or as fun as my previous teacher so I'm a little biased. Yet, he always made time for me and the other students who needed any kind of help. He was really open and he encouraged people to ask alot of questions.
I'm in love with the way he teaches. He is awesome. I had him for 4 terms and I am so sad he does not teach Statistis because I would take it with him for sure. If you want an advice take your math classes with him you will not regret it.
Fantastic teacher, had to teach the class too fast so it was a little intense at times. Enjoyed him as a teacher, great explaining, if you have a question MAKE SURE to slow him down and ASK then and there.
I took this class my first term out of high school, and unfortunately I had already taken pre-calc, so all that he taught wasn't new to me, BUT, he's still an awesome teacher. He's really forgiving too...you have to turn in your homework on the day of the test, and I forgot my homework at home once, and he let me bring it the next class! With no penalty!! What a great guy!

Took three classes w/Dave. He's really great; fair and patient - good sense of humor.Gives you as much time as you need for tests and throws out lowest score (homework, attendance, tests). Does not grade on a curve so you need to do well on most of the tests and definitely on the final. He's awesome!
Great teacher! Is a little fast at times, but overall is very clear and somehow manages to make math fun...
Definitely an AWESOME teacher and a great person to know. I took him in 3 different classes. He's was very helpful and explains everything out clearly!!
Easy to get along with, speedy class. will slow down if asked. likes to joke. helpful and if you study and do homework you will do fine. no study and do homework will pass.
Wow! There are no words to express what a fantastic teacher he is! Eternally patient, fair and consistent, kind and helpful even in a class that was very intense. Great sense of humor (rare in a math prof) and completely adorable in that sort of geeky math way. His classes aren't easy but he will go out of his way to help you if you ask.
By far the best math teacher that I have had. Great at explaining the concepts and has a great grading system. Tests are very fair. He is always willing to help you(even a few minutes before the final). If you want to learn and understand math take his classes, you won't be disappointed.
this is his ti89 class, it would be nice if he knew how to work the calculator better himself. spends each class answering the same dummies questions over and over instead of moving on and showing the rest of us anything new. almost the last class and he's covered about 1 1/2 classes worth of material due to this.... a waste of my $$
Piss-poor teacher. Lets himself be bullied by students with bad attitudes. Unable to communicate. Misinterpreted the documentation guidelines. Makes mistakes every class and takes a long time to figure out where he went wrong. This guy should not be teaching college-level math.
He might be good in some of the lower level classes, but this guy is damn near incompetent in my calc course. We're like two weeks behind. He should stick to teaching lower-level stuff.
I hate math , but he explained it well, and was willing to help students during office hours. He never belittled, and kept our class up to schedule, as well as taught things clearly and precisely, so that I actually had fun!
TI89 calculator class. Dave helped me understand how to use my calculator so i could do better in my other class. it was not perfect, but i think i got more out of it than i expected. he is funny and understanding. he even upgraded my calculator in his office. very good person and i recommend you try out for one of his classes. Thanks Dave!
I could tell the instant I first saw him that he was going to make us work, and I was right. His lectures are good though, he takes his time and explains things clearly and thoroughly (even if it's something very simple). He also answers questions well. If you can keep on top of things, you should be fine.
There are no easy A's here but he is fair, very patient and willing to help you if you ask. Very nice guy-his psych. degree comes in handy, making him a much better teacher than your usual math instructor due to his level of understanding of human nature and empathy for those of us struggling with mathematics. Wonderful sense of humor too!
Not enough words to describe how wonderful he is. Patient, extremely helpful, kind, and funny. He is definitely not the easiest grader, but he is more than willing to help you if you ask him. I don't think I could have survived math if it weren't for him! Definitely recommend but be prepared to work your *** off!
If you like me (which means terrible @ math), then this is the teacher for you. Actually, even if you're good at math, this is the teacher for you. This is by far one of the best teachers I have ever taken. He's great, has an excellent sense of humour, and makes class a laid-back environment. Just the absolute best math teacher @ PCC!
Awesome teacher! He explains everything well, makes himself readily available to students, all the good stuff! He's a stickler for proper grammar and using a methodical approach, but for me and everybody else I associated with in the class, it was 100% a huge help, and really made calculus fun (Never thought I'd say that!)
Ok teacher. A little intense, tons of work, tests are difficult. Has trouble explaining concepts more than one way. Talks way too fast to follow lecture at times. Occasionally a little impatient with questions from class, especially if he thinks you should already know the answer. suggest one of the part-time instructors if you struggle w/mth.
Great teacher!!! I love his teaching style. He is kind and helpful.
enjoyed class
I like this teacher, I am terrible at math. I had the hardest time with his tests, because he was teaching old material that is not in the text. So I took the blow from that, because there was not enough work to ready me for it. He is helpful, but lacks time to help, he is helping everyone else during his lab hours (not in his class).
Do yourself a favor and find a different math teacher - he was horrible at explaining concepts, talked too rapidly, had no patience. He spends a lot of time in the lab helping students who are not his, even seeming to avoid his own students. Egotistical and pedantic.
Great math 95 teacher. He is very fair and answers any question you have. He practically tells you the exact questions that will be on the exam so they are very easy to study for. The homework is appropriate in length. Plan on taking him for the next level too since I enjoyed his class so much. I would recommend him to anyone.
Dave rocks. He is always willing to help and make time for students who need it. Very fair, hard material but he goes over it in depth. Highly recommend him
Dave is very nice and loves math and loves teaching. He is fair, gives credit for work even if the answer is wrong. The only downfall of this prof is that he goes very fast and often tells the class if we don't understand something we need to go elsewhere to get help b/c "we should already know that". Do the HW, get extra help on hard topics, an
He's a MATH teacher; nothing more needs to be said!
Awesome teacher and he loves the outdoors. He loves helping people and loves his job. i would give him an a+ for a tacher
I have already taken this class once before and didnt pass it. When I got Mr. Hall as a teacher I was relieved thinking that I would be able to do much better. But he is waaay to picky. I completed all the homework and extra credit. granted I didnt do great on the tests but I showed a lot of effort and he still wouldnt pass me. dont take this class
He is awesome! I got placed in a lower math then I should have been, i knew everything he was talking about for the first half of the term, so he let me just come in on test days since his grading allows for that. Totally worked with me and teaches very well. Great teacher, I would definately take his class again.
He's intense, but not hard. Expects t's crossed and i's dotted. Really enjoyed his class, and would take him again if given the opportunity.
Very good at explaining things, answers your stupid questions and is really patient. His grading is somewhat hard though. Everything has to be correct but he will give you credit for work shown. Sometimes he rambles and we get behind on class. Overall hes a good teacher and i would take a class with him again.
Very helpful! Very thorough!
Best math teacher ever!Explains everything clearly and makes it easier to understand.Doesn't give too much or too little homework.Gives a quiz every week but you can talk during them and learn.Grades very fair and gives you one take home exam. Great instructor, would definitely recommend. Its a shame he doesnt teach higher level math classes though.
Great teacher. You need to be really on top of your work if you want a good grade in his class, but this is college math and no matter who your prof. is you need to be on top of it.Hall is very cool and approachable. Highly recommended.
Dave is very helpful and wants you to learn. I am not very math savvy but he never made me feel stupid when asking a question. I didn't ace the class but I passed with my self-esteem intact, I can't say that for every math class I have taken at PCC.
he is a pretty good teacher just can be kinda tough in his tests doesn't allow make ups and much calculator use . what ever grade you get on your test thats what you get .My prior teacher allowed make ups he does not .sucks
I have a great grip on math already, but if I didn't understand, Dave Hall would be PERFECT for me. His teaching style is great and he is always willing to answer questions. He has several 100 point sections and for your grade he will drop the lowest of those sections and take the highest sections. Awesome!
Awesome teacher, What I loved most was that he allowed a portion of your grade to be dropped, I chose attendance since I pretty much knew what I was doing, and never had to show up for anything except test days! Very clear, fun teacher, I DEFINATELY recomend him
Dave is awesome! I hated math before this class but I ended up with almost 100%! He is passionate, clear, very helpful, friendly and all other things great you could want in a prof!! Highly recommend.
I registered for his class because of the good reviews. Dropped his class the first day. He will not comply with the ADA Form. If you have a disability, look elsewhere for an instructor.
David is a very good teacher. He is a fun guy to learn from and he is always there to help. One complaint is that it takes him a while to get exams back.
I'm not good at math, but I've always done ok. Hall is very confusing to follow, takes too long to explain things, and rambles. Notes confusing and all over the fast. teaches fast and confusing but will slow down for Q's. there are few Quiz's which he lets u do as a class. Exams are difficult, but math is difficult 4 me. He's ok if u understand Mth
With David, the math homework was just practice, so as long as you tried to do it you got credit for it. At the end, your lowest test score would be dropped. I loved having him as a teacher.(this is coming from a student who is good at math to begin with)
Very nice teacher, but this class is so hard I was so lost. Ive been okay with math, but I failed the first exam after studying for days. I have never failed a test before. Hard grader.
Great teacher, very helpful and as long as you show up and do the work there shouldnt be any reason you cant get an A. I would highly recomend. He was fun, and very nice.
He was kinda smart-ass attitude. He never wanted to go over things you were supposibly to have learned in previous classes, but he didn't take in consideration that some of us haven't take math for a while or simply just don't like it. He was very strict and with me that's not a problem, but because of his strictness I felt uncomfortable to approac
If you're good at math, you can get an A fairly easily. On quizzes, you can work with each other, also gives exams, one of which is a take-home exam. Is strict about graphing, must use straight-edge. Goes super fast in lecture so it's hard to keep pace. If your a fast learner or can learn on your own, I recommend him, if not, I'd look elsewhere.
A very good teacher. He explains everything well. He is the best math teacher I've ever had. Highly recommended! He makes us know math more and be able to work on his tests and quizess well.
Dave lets students help eachother during quizzes because students learn better that way. He also tells us what is going to be on the exams. Overall, if you want a good math teacher who can explain concepts well, choose Dave!
Mr.Hall was a great instructor! He helps his students as much as possible and will work with you to make sure you pass his class. He cares a lot about his students and that is what I appreciated the most. He is fair and a nice guy. I am thankful that I had Mr.Hall as an instructor especially because I am not so great at math!
Professor Hall has alot of energy and the first lecture gave me a headache. You will get used to him, and also always be able to hear him! I felt he rushed through material during lectures, going 100 miles a minute. His grading is tough. On an exam, if you get the answer right, but don't do it the exact way he wants, he'll dock you big points.
David G. Hall is the equivalency of Michael G. Scott teaching trigonometry. Get ready to get your mind blown away.
This class was so much fun. David has a lot of energy and always makes sure his students understand what he's teaching. He's always happy to answer any questions you may have.
He's isn't a teacher, he is a narrator! Very unprepared, uses other teachers material, doesn't answer questions in a helpful manner; just supplies the answer after he clears his confusion. Would NOT recommend to anyone going further in math, this teacher will not give you a clear understanding of the function!
His teaching style doesn't match my learning style, but he was always helpful. On quizzes you can talk with your peers and discuss questions and answers, on tests you're on your own.
So much fun, I love this teacher!
Hate math, but liked Dave. Very clear, and you could tell he wanted you to enjoy math. (I never did and probably never will, but if I have to do more math, I'd take it with Dave Hall!)
Mr hall is an amazing instructor. His lectures are clear and easy to understand. He only collects 3 random homework assignments a term. He let's you work with each other during quizzes. He goes through the tests before and tells you what type of problems will be on the tests which is VERY helpful. Definitely recommend this teacher to anyone
Fantastic math teacher. Challenging material but he did everything he could to help you understand it. Nice guy. Funny. I'm hoping I can take him for future math classes.
Dave is a great professor who will readily help students who are confused (as long as you ask). Always makes sure that what he is teaching is clear and can be funny during lectures. Good grader, gives partial credit for answers that demonstrate you understand but just messed something up or got confused along the way. Always nails polar coordinates
Dave is a wonderful teacher and can match most any learning style. He's a bit of a loud talker, but it stems from a good heart. The pace and material of MATH 60 have been easily worked through with him, and we always have a good time in class.
David Hall is there to help students, and overall is a good instructor. But if you are taking other classes, this is the last instructor you want to be taking, because he assigns too much homework. We understand the concepts, but it just seems like he's making us do busy work. I stayed up past 3 every night trying trying to balance all my classes.
David is an excellent teacher. He takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material. He is very clear in his expectations and his lectures are easy to follow. If you go to class and do the homework, this is an easy "A".
He's a good teacher and deserves to have great people take his class. He's good at teaching and fair on quizzes and exams. He lets you use your neighbor during quizzes but no notes. He replaces your lowest score with the final score if higher in the exams.
He's a good teacher. He explained everything to you for this class what what will happen with the same material in the next class. Lets you talk to students in quizzes but no notes. Three exams that are pretty normal.
He is okay. His tests are hard and difficult to pass. Wouldn't take him for a higher level math
David has to be my favorite math instructor... ever. He is enthusiastic about the subject, has lecture outlines for each class period that allow you to practice as he goes along. You know what to expect out of this course. He truly cares about his students and sticks up for them whenever there's a math dept. meeting.
Professor Hall is a really good professor. He goes over all the course materials in class that will be on the tests, and makes sure you know what your doing. He gives lots of partial credit on the tests even if you got the answer wrong. The tests are really pretty staightfoward, and you can talk with others on the quizzes. Great guy to learn from.
Dave is an amazing instructor. He is so clear and spends the extra time needed to make sure you understand the material. We had 1 quiz a week, but it was a group work, w could get help from any student, just not him. The class before an exam he laced out EXACTLY what would be on the exam.
Took 111 &112 with him. He is the best math teacher I have ever had. I always thought I hated math but after a term with him I was enjoying it! Do your homework, show up to class, and ask him lots of questions. He will help you pass if you ask for it.
Horrible teacher. I asked for help and was told, "That's not my job. My job is to show up and present the material. Your job is to figure it out." He would tell us what to study, then change the test completely. He seemed to enjoy making the class ridiculously difficult. More than half of the students dropped the course a few weeks in. Wish I had!
He is the best teacher I have ever had. I like math but he made this class one of my favorites. He is always willing to help, he has multiple ways of explaining answers. He goes through the test and tells you exactly what you need to study and where to practice it at. I would take him for every math class I have left if it were possible.
Goes super fast in lecture, not clear on what will be on tests, study guide super easy, then the test had problems so hard no one knew what to do. I got 50% on a test that had most the problems right cuz he took off so many points for my process. No extra credit offered. Won't take again. Strait As last term. Got D in Hall's. Do not take!
This teacher was one of the worst teachers i have ever encountered in my entire education. For one of the exams, i managed to get all the answers right, however i solved the equation using a different way, which major ponts were deducted. If you care about your education, avoid him ! ! ! I seriously mean it. He wants you to do it his way ! ! !
This is not a math class you'll sleep through, if only because of Hall's loud, energy filled voice. The material is not the easiest to digest, but he knows what he is doing and can explain it as well as I can imagine anyone else could. He's very patient and as long as you ask you're questions, you'll be fine.
David is a really funny teacher with lots of energy (especially for a morning class). One thing I noticed is that he will teach you the generalized version of things and then turn around on a test and ask really particular questions that you may not had been as prepared for. He's also kind of hard to get a hold of outside of class.
Hall has energy to spare. He loves his subject. He is a good teacher. I felt like I was catching on in class and during homework, but the tests were hard. Felt like he didn't prepare us for the depth of the test. Of course the snow may have played a role, but more explanation for concepts& bringing it all together would have helped immensely.
He answers most of all your questions, he gives exam review.
This term, spring term is his last term before he retires so he doesn't even care anymore. He's loud and is all over the place in his lectures. He bounces from one subject to another. His exam reviews are pointless as he puts things we didn't even cover on it. Sometimes he even uses other teachers exams for the class. I have never felt so lost.
I would not recommend dave for first timers. Very strict grading, TONS of work. He is not clear at all, and is all over the place during lecture. I took NOTHING from that class. I failed it and switch profs. Got an A the next term around. Sometimes its the professor and not the teacher.
David is one of the best math teachers I have ever had! Funny and makes math interesting. Very good at explaining and always willing to help. Great teaching style and gives plenty of examples. It's math so you have to work at it- but that's college. I would take him for 112 if he was teaching it next term! Strongly recommend if you struggle in math
