Hamilton Rocks! The class is fun. He gives 3 speech assignments for the term & does a 1 on 1 with each student at the end of the class they are giving their speech. He gives valuable feedback on your speech & he wants his students to succeed in the real world. Very down to earth guy not some stuffy know it all, tenured professor

He is SO nice! Very helpful and will tell you exactly what he wants in your next speech.I came into the class not looking forward to giving speeches.But he made me ENJOY class!There is no confusion with him! He responds to every question you have. Willing to help you even with other classes! Dont take any other speech class! I HIGHLY recommend him.

Prof. Hamilton's a very fun instructor. He makes everyone feel good about themselves & helps you to feel empowered to speak publicly, which is very difficult to do. I appreciate how positive he is so early in the morning too. If you don't pass his class then, honestly, you probably deserve to fail. He couldn't make it any easier. Take him for sure!

Show up for all your speeches, inclass engagements and do the peer/self evaluation of the speeches (All pts are based off these). He's funny sometimes, we had 1 quiz through the quarter. Good teacher, i'd recommend him to everyone, even if you hate speeches, it's not that bad with him.

Professor Hamilton is one of those teachers that come around once in a lifetime. He will challenge you to think about your life and where you are going. Only two speeches and one group speech. He makes you want to come to class. He will actually help you become a better public speaker.

Awesome teacher. There is no way you can fail this class unless you don't or dont do the speech and engagements. He will help you if you are afraid to speak in front of groups and will give you advice how to improve your public speaking. Funny guy and great stories. Never used the book and didnt have a single test quiz or final.

Hamilton is halarious and tries to always put everyone in a good mode. He is also very helpful and willing to answer any questions you would have for him. I actually liked his class more than I expected. Take him if u wana learn and laugh ur a** off.

The topic of the lecture is what is expected on tests. If you take the time to go over notes, for the most part, the class is a breeze. Attendance is mandatory, so don't miss out on points by sleeping in. Mr. Hamilton teaches lessons based on real life we can relate to. Highly recommended teacher!!! His class is worth more than units earned. :)

David is awesome! Over two thirds of our class has an A! He is really funny and tells us funny stories to keep us entertained. I was not much of a speaker before this class but he is very encouraging and makes you feel comfortable. Class flies by and there is No HW, 3 speeches, no midterms or final! The only class I look forward to everyday!

No used of textbook. He is friendly and laidback. However, don't cross over his limit. He takes attendance every single class. His speech 10 class is often around 7am. So if you're not morning person, try to get another class. There are 3 presentations. They are all easy. He gave everyone A- & A

Hghly recommend anyone take him. VERY FUN and VERY EASY. He makes everybody laugh and wake up by his jokes and funny talk because he only teaches speech classes in the morning every quarters. You can finish homework in one or half hour. and you do not need textbook. Also, if you are bad to speak, don't worry. He makes you comfortable. So Nice.

He wants people to have the mentality of group thinking. Teaches about critical thinking, some fallacies, deductive-inductive reasoning. It is okay to come late or be absent (830AM) BUT, raise your hand a lot. Throw your thoughts in. The hardest part is believing that you can become a group thinker.NOT HARD. Take it

I really injured hamilton! yes is humor takes some getting used to but it is funny. He's a really understanding teacher!! It is very easy to past the class if you go to class and participate.

He is hilarious! Such a good teacher. Also, you get extra credit just by showing up to class, making this class an easy A. You have to do a total of 3 main speeches during the quarter -- 2 individual and 1 group. He grades reasonably. Must take this class!

He's hilarious and super friendly. He does his best to make to keep his students engaged throughout his class. He answers any question you have and always have a smile on his face. Took him for spch10 and got an A, will be taking him again next quarter for spch15! Attendance is actually NOT mandatory; attendance is extra credit!

The class consists of three speeches, one of them is a group speech. If you show up on time you get extra credit. The speeches are very straight forward. As long as you are within the requested time frame for the speech and the quality is decent, you will get an A. Very easy class to pass. Hamilton can be inappropriate but whatever. It can be funny

Professor Hamilton is a great teacher. Hilarious Funny! He is there for his students, also he has clear grading criteria. Be in class on time and you will get extra points. His lectures are fun. Took him at CSM during the summer for Comm 110, he made public speaking the most comfortable experience ever. Great professor! Wish I could have him every semester!

If you participate, your grade's immediately secured. He shares funny and relevant stories to boon lectures. Keep up with assignments, which isn't too hard, and you're set.

His TA's do most of his work for him. He's kinda like the one in the group that shows up to present and gets a good grade. We get much work in that class so I don't see why he would need more than one TA. Shout out to his TA's though, with out you all he would actually have to do some work.

Professor Hamilton does a good job of helping you think critically. Took his summer sp 15 class. He gives interesting lessons and activities that expand your thinking - some challenging some easy but always you can learn something from them.

Very funny and unorthodox class. Most of the stuff you might've learned in other classes but probably in a little bit more detail. Prof. Hamilton is really funny, you can't see him as a serious professor- which is a gem. Obviously you still have to do work, but it's nothing worth stressing over. Fun class, fun professor. 8/10 Recommend.

The TA that was there did almost all the work. He made the class harder than the actual teacher did but to balance that the TA also answered all question I had and was really helpful. Thanks Montana for your time! Hamilton was really funny too, but didn't really do anything. He poorly graded the first essay and the TA regarded all of them. Good job

Prof. Hamilton's class is refreshing! He's hilarious, animated and I find that there's never a dull moment in his class. He kind of reminds me of Jay Leno! He's also a pretty generous grader. Just make sure you do all of the work and assignments and ask for clarification when needed. Overall, he's a pretty solid choice!

Chill professor, 3 speeches with outlines. Gives you plenty of time to complete them. Make sure you sit with a good group bc you'll have a lot of time to talk and stuff. One Catalyst assignment a week. Do all the work (not much), show up to class, and participate and you're set with an A!

Hamilton is one of the most chill teachers I've ever met in my life. He is crazy funny and totally treats his students like his peers. He can be kind of flaky, which can be kinda annoying at times, but overall can't complain. Take his class if you can! :-) You won't regret it.

Prof. Hamilton is hilarious, it is an early morning class but it was never boring. One midterm which is manageable and straightforward plus 2 group presentations. Bunch of online work which are just short writings. Definitely a good choice if you need a class for Area A3. Take him and you won't regret.

Professor Hamilton is now officially my favorite Professor at De Anza!!! He is hilarious, and he understands that Murphy Laws DOES happen, so as long as you are honest with him about what are happening that prevent you to do the work assigned, he is SUPER understanding! The best professor who teaches Communication classes I have had at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, California. He will explain to help students understanding their confused problems. He does not give many assignments to his students, and he is a generous grader. His students get a lot of fun in class, and you can get a Grade A easily.

Took Professor Hamilton Com 45 at San Jose City College spring semester. Very funny easy going professor who is passionate about the world of communications, he comes up with easy interactive lesson plans that keep the class from being boring. Great teacher. Pretty easy class.

Took comm10 with him and I loved it. Had his class at 7:30 am and each session was absolutely worth it. His classes are good, he's a great teacher. If you go over or under your speech time it doesn't matter as long as you give your speech. my speech was 3 min & it was suppose to be 6-10 but i still got an A. Do the work and speeches and you're golden.

Really easy class, go to class take notes on lectures and present your speech. 4 speeches in total. Demonstration, Informational, Persuasive (Group shark tank activity), Tribute (About yourself). Easy grader, when presenting talk for about 6 minutes and you're good.

He is awesome, you'll learn and you'll have fun. I am an Esl student and public speaking was one of my challenges but in his class, I was so comfortable. I have a suggestion for ESL students, In my opinion, take this class after you finish your ESL classes or you have enough confidence, because most students are native.

Such an easy class. Prof is quirky and hilarious. If you're an english learner he understands your struggle and will help you out. You record some speeches and give some on zoom. Assignments are do on Sunday's. Either a speech or a reading. You can finish an entire weeks work in an hour or less.

Funny guy. Ask him about stocks as well, he's a major investor and only does teaching for fun. He'll give you good life advice as well as teaching you good practical skills to keep with you. A real gem would 100% take again :)

I have social anxiety and found his class good. We would talk once in every class (zoom). Presentations were video recordings that we would turn in like every other week. I think his class is pretty easy and low-pressure.

Prof Hamilton was a really awesome teacher. He doesn't give too many assignments, just mainly asks that you participate. I took him for fall quarter when the whole class was over zoom. I doubt his class is worse in person so I definitely recommend taking his class!!

I absolutely love spending every moment in this class with Professor Hamilton! He is a funny, fair, and caring person. The class is focused on delivering speeches, but the topics are enjoyable to do. 5 speeches total with the outline submitted the day of your speech which makes up your grade. A very simple and fun class, so highly recommend it!!!

Super awesome person, very easy A as long as you try! There are 5 speeches, 1 introduction, 1 group persuasion, 1 informative, 1 demonstration, and 1 tribute speech (about yourself), with an outline for every speech. Very fun guy, makes school tolerable and is super understanding so talk to him! The people you sit with will be your groupmates.

Easy A, even if English is not your first language, you can take an A. The teacher is a very good person.

The best professor I've met, his class is really easy if you pay attention. He's really understanding, he lets you get out of class early if he finishes the lecture early. The speeches are super doable if you put in effort. All the material is easy to memorize and he posts them. He's really funny. There are 5 solo speeches and one group speech.

Prof Hamilton is the sweetest professor ever! He was really funny every lecture and he shows that he actually cares for his students. Hamilton gives students opportunities to do any speech they may have given. He's very approachable and understanding no matter what the circumstance. PRO TIP: If you're ever late, get him a large Americano, hot.

hamilton was a chill teacher and his class was an easy A. his lectures were entertaining and he always let us out earlier than scheduled which was nice. but if ur a girl he tends to come across creepy. he makes weird jokes abt his body parts and touches students' arms which i found uncomfortable. easy class just don't be alone in a room w him.

Professor Hamilton is easily one of the best professors I've had. There are 5 speeches and you just need to make sure you're prepared for each speech and you'll be golden. Our class started with 31 people and ended with 16 people because people just stopped showing up due to being scared of the speeches. My advice is don't be lol.

Look, the ratings are as high as they are, because it's well earned. Professor Hamilton is a great teacher overall, and a very respectable person. Despite taking his 8:30 class, he is well energized. As long as he has a pure black coffee, no sugar, and no melty lids. Funny professor with a refreshing sense of humor, not unhinged but still funny.

I took his communications course during the winter at De Anza, and let me just say that he is one of the best professors out there. He is super funny, but also puts a huge amount of passion into what he does. Regardless of having to take his 8:30 course and having to wake up a bit earlier than usual, it was very worth-while and an amazing class.

Bring him coffee or cookies if you want him to round your grade up. (he pays for whatever you buy so it only costs you a bit of time) Also if you're ever late, its a great excuse.
