Great teacher, very personable.

i loved this teacher ,i thought he taught very well and really went out of his way to reach his students .this was the first math class i have taken in 5 years and he made it very easy for me to understand.highly recomended.

This teacher is the best math teacher I have ever had. He explains everything soo clearly and makes everything very simple. Also, he lets homework be a huge part of your grade so its really easy to pass, just try. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

very helpful, very clear, very good teacher

The class seems a lot harder in the beginning than it really is. Stick with it and you'll at least pass with a C if you put the effort. He'll gladly help you if you ask for it. Math 138 was challenging though.

his tests r hard but it prepares u very well 4 the final infact, if u want a chance 2 win the $100 4 having the highest final score take his class. if he thinks u wont pass the class he will give u heads up b4 u get a bad grade he even makes it possible 2 do section transfers so u wont have 2 repeat

this class is harder at the beginning, but gets better; the only bad thing is that he has you do math proofs on tests; but...he's hot!

He's an excellent math teacher. He hepls out the student with real life quotations. Take his class if you are a serious student, specially if math has to do with your major. Teachers like him makes places GCC campus on higher standards.

All I can say is that hes AWESOME! He is the best teacher here at GCC. He cares about people if they are or aren't his students. I wish more teachers were like him! People take his class. Just make sure that you are postive, do all the homework and ask questions!!!

Took his class over the summer. David is the best math teacher i have ever had. he cares about his students and really takes time to make sure everyone understands what he is talking about. tests are a little hard, but well worth taking his class

I took him for my math class, he is the best professor of Math at GCC. He helps you a lot and always makes his students to understand every problem in the book. I really recomend students to take him. It was easy to get an A.

He's an excellent teacher. Knows his material well, his lectures and notes are very clear. Will answer your questions and is there for his office hour. MUST DO HOMEWORK, not only to do well on tests but for credit.Returns graded tests, gives partial credit, and an answer sheet following every test. I totally recommend him and math is not my subj.

there's no easy to calculus,it's a subjective class different from any math out there.u need ur analytical skills,he brings out ur skills puts ur brain to 5th gear.he's a great teacher for years he's been having an effect on me. he's the perfect math teacher.don't blame the teacher for the complexity of the subject.calculu is not easy.

For those students that are saying this teacher is hard, doesn't explain very well, and not to take this class; obvioulsy they failed his class. Isn't it funny how when a student does bad they blame it on the teacher? Yea I'm going to drop out half way through the course and expect something better than an "F". YOU ARE IN COLLEGE!!!! David,a real professor.Its true he not only make you understand math as a subject but also apply it in real life.I thought i could never understand math for sure but i have come to like the subject with only a week.If i fail the subject,i would blame myself totally.He appreciate everyone and make students appreciate themselves too.Thanks Dave.

He is such a good professor. He expresses things in a way that a monkey would understand. His demands are hi but nothing crazy. He makes you fall in love with math.

I notice that math 145 and Math 119 students finds him a very easy teacher but for statistics and college algebra classes he is a very hard teacher and he cannot teach this subject, he should just stay and teach lower pace math class.

I did not pass the class but he was still very helpful and he knows what he is talking about. I reccomend him to students who want to learn. He isn't easy but he definatly gets you to try hard and learn.

i used to hate math. but after taking his class i started loving math. he is the best math teacher in g.c.c. but you have to do the homeworks otherwise u cant get a good grade.his tests are harder than other teachers. i got an A but i worked hard for it.

Dont expect an easy "A" OR even an easy "C" without working for it, but its possible if you concentrate in his lectures. I thought learning math was impossible, but this guy really teaches! You have to study the chapters, do the homework, and engage in the group work. You will do fine if you try. This isnt a class for lazy people. It pays off!

Math 103 Easy Class, if you listen to his lecture and do the homeword that he gives, you get A easily.

This class was a little more abstract than 145, so it was very difficult for me to excel in. Mr. Hassett is always available for help, forces you to exceed your own expectations and always has suggestions for "mentally" concurring math. If he wasn't my professor for this class I surely would have failed.

Explains material very well, easy to understand if you do the homework and review the notes from class. He is always willing to help and as long as you can do the homework, you can do well on the exams. Very nice and helpful.

He explains things very well and clarifies any questions you may still have. As long as you attend the class, do the homework, take the notes and review them,the exams are easy. He is very nice and keeps the class interesting. Never liked math classes but his class was awesome~!!

This teather is one of few good teachers that I have ever had. Even though my most grades are A in most classes, I am so satisfied with the B grade that I got in this class. This teacher had always been helpful to me every time I went to ask him about math problems. I would like to thank him so much. Good bless him.

David is the most awsome teacher I have ever had. I went from not passing math at another CC to passing with a B. Yeah it's hard but he is willing to work with you. As long as you put in the time and do the work and go to class you will be fine. Good fortune to him every aspect of his life. FYI he is knows Spanish very well + other languages.

I took math 145 146 and 119 just to pass with a C after a second attempt at each class. I took 120 with Hassett and I passed with a B on a first try. My success in this class is due to his teaching methods. Follow his suggestions and you will do well. He is not easy but he is crystal clear about his expectations so you can prepare for the tests.

David is perhaps one of the brightest and most fun teachers I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and taking classes with. The man is funny and kind.

Took Hassett in 2008. Awesome teacher, take him. He is so helpful. Plan on taking him to finish up my very last unit of Math 220 in Fall 2009, so I can get my diploma, and then get Married in Nov of 2009. :)

LOVE MR. He is one of the best teachers i've ever had. Most of the students are lazy; they don't do the homework. I don't understand why some lazy student's say he doesn't explain. He explain everything very well and clear and repeats a lot before the test. I got an A plus my knowledge cuz I studied.

All I can say is before I took his class I had no hope in passing this class, but that was not the case at the end I had taken this class 2 times prior to taking it with him and I got a B in his class, he wants everyone in his class to do well, I've never seen a professor care about his students the way Professor Hassett does

Everyone who dropped Math 146 in Fall 09 (4-6pm)needed to drop. He does put pressure on students b/c he wants you to do well. He explains everything & doesn't let you leave until you understand. He prepared us for the common final for 2 weeks and our class performed the best out of all the elementary algebra classes. He's tough, but you learn.

He is very clear on what is required of you in order to pass the class...attendace and being on time is defenitely mandatory...study for tests and everything would be good

if u hate math,take this teacherr! he will make it tolerable for you I'm TERRIBLE when it comes to math but with the way he explains i understood everything he was talking about and i got an A (during winter session) basically show up everyday do the work and ur good to go he doesnt make u feel stupid AT ALL. just GREAT GREAT teacherr!

Wonderful, wonderful teacher! Professor Hassett actually cares. He is strict and the tests are challenging because he is preparing the student for the common final. Hasset, is very strict about attendance and homework. If you want a class were you can just come to class on test dates then he's not the teacher for you. If you haven't has math in a WHILE, then he isn't the teacher for you either. He is extremely helpful, specially in his office hours. He's the best! I can't wait to take stats w/ him! :)

David is AMAZING! He, by far, is THE best math teaching at GCC. He will explain material over and over until you understand it. His test are not hard. It depends on your level of preparation. If you did the HW, and understand the material, you'll be fine. He also applies math to real life situations, so it's not like we'll never see these concepts.

BEST teacher ever, if i can, i would take all my math classes with him. ya, he is a little strict, but because of that, you understand everything he explains. He LOVES to teach, its so obvious . he is the BESTT

Mr. Hassett is one of the rare teachers who cares about his students' progress. He gives 110% in class so it is fair for him to require the best you can do. Although professor Hasset is kind of against ratemyprofessor, because of statistical reasons, i just wanted to tell everyone how amazing he is. Statistics is pretty difficult on its own, but Hasset made the subject easy to understand, if you dont understand a problem, he will put much effort in explaining if you actually ask. TAKE HIM!!!!

Grades fair, attendance is mandatory for entire class time. Good teacher but never shuts up with his personal stories. However he at least gave good examples of using the math equations in everyday life. He also calls on each student three times each day..keeps you awake.

I looked forward to his class every single day, &time flew! very clear, loves his job. he assigns hw & calls on you every day though. very structured, somewhat strict. Just do your hw, show up to class and study for the tests! Awesome professor & an even better person, nothing but love and respect for this man.

Awesome Proff. He is somewhat strict because he actualy loves it when students learn what he is teaching, just like every other proff. His work is not hard, it just takes time. I would take him if he tought Claculus, because he does devote his personal time to help students.

I took his advance course during the summer, so it was intense...but he is by far the best math professor I've ever had, I'm still using the notes I've acquired from his Math 101 class in my College Algebra! awesome notes! awesome clarity! just take the time and actually participate! then you'll hone essential math skills in his course!

I love David!!! So passionate about giving his students all he can! However, this is not an easy A. I gotta admit his final was pretty difficult compared to the whole semester. I passed with a C. But then i suck at math, and if ur like me, u might have a hard time. But he is still an awesome teacher, always ready to help! Love him!

I've struggled with math my entire life..I've never had a professor as amazing as David. This doesn't mean his class is easy...it just means that he gives you no excuse to fail. If you don't pass, the blame is on you. You need to work hard, show up, pay attention, and study..with that said, he's always there to help & makes stats fun/clear.

The best. Simply the best.!!!!! Takes personal time to help you. I didn't know anything about stats and ended up taking him and it was the best professor I've taken in college. It does take work, but if you're devoted, then so is he. I recommend him 100%. He even took personal time before final exam to help us out for 2 hours. Simply amazing.

Dave is truthfully one of the best teachers at GCC, it's his passion for teaching the subject that makes him so good. That said, he's not an easy professor he expects hard work; however, he delivers a lot and the hard work out put in will pay off. I highly recommend him for Math 119/120 he really prepares you for the common final. Great teacher!

Mr. Hassett is the best!!! He conveys the concepts of math perfect to where you actually understand it in a practical way. Pay attention to his lectures do the homework and you will get an A. Mr. Hassett is personally my favorite teacher in gcc so far.

He is a very interesting type of teacher. he can go deep into a lecture and help you out to the point where you will definitely get it. He does have a sarcastic tone whenever you ask him a question but besides that,don't take the little homework points lightly. everything counts in his class. take advantage of his office hours. Hands down THE BEST math prof ever! he makes math a joy; u will never look at the clock! not an easy A, u must learn the material to earn a good grade, like college and anything else in life should be. his class is a learning experience you just cannot fathom! interactive, enticing, and passionate! If you want a stats class mired in tedious calculations, this is probably not the class for you. If you want a class that will help you deeply and intuitively understand statistics and even change your world view, then sign up for David's stats class. Be prepared - you will be called on every day in class by name to answer a question! DH rocks.

Professor Hasset is one of the most fair teachers I have ever taken. If you work hard, he will go out of his way to help you. I had to miss a week of class and was really afraid how it would effect my grade. If you need time off TALK TO HIM FIRST. If you just skip, you'll be punished, but if you work it out before hand you'll be fine.

Ask questions, participate. It was a tough class for me but I managed to learn it. Some concepts were tougher than others. Ask the professor because he really wants you to get it. Great upbeat professor!

He makes time out for his students when available. He's super patient and does his best to ensure students understand the material before we leave the classroom.

BEST MATH PROF ! he makes U participate daily, it helps Bc that way u stay focused. Take good notes! pay full attention. He is funny & his class is always interesting. I loved going to class. HW isnt a lot it helps. Tests arent hard as long as u study. Take him u wont regret it, I wanted to leave the 1st day Bc participation but I didnt & Im happy

David is very intelligent & caring prof, he teaches the class very well, its just his exams can get very tricky, have some logic, & u have to understand the material quickly. He ALWAYS stays for office hours, which does help. But just saving u time, u literally have to work ur ass off for an A. Take another stats prof if u want it easier.

Amazing professor! Stats is a logic based class and makes you think outside the box. Loved how Professor Hassett challenged us daily and didnt give up on us no matter how easy or difficult the question was. Very educated professor. In order to do well, time outside of class has to be put in to succeed. Highly recommend this professor!

Loved Professor Hassett, Anyone can pass this class easily. Do not let the whole "Statistics is so hard and all probability, if you suck at math you wont pass" get to you. Take the class head on, David is an amazing professor and amazing human being who has the greatest stories ever. He always tells you exactly what he is going to ask on the exam.

Statistics is a difficult subject, so you definitely have to put a lot of time and effort into studying to get a good grade. He is very clear about what he expects from his students. Amazing stats professor. Read the book, do practice problems, google concepts for clarification, ask questions in class, study, and learn how to your calculator. Doing these things got me an A in Hassetts stats class. He knows his stuff, take him.

He will come across as WTF, but once you get into the routine of things, it gets easy. Yes stats is hard and you will have to study hard and work for your grade. He's the first math teacher I've had whose class material I fully understood before a test. I only had to review for some time, but there wasn't any concept(s) I had to sit down and try to understand. The lectures were fun, and if I sometimes missed something, I'd understand everything at the next class meeting. Show up, listen, write down notes.

He takes his time to explain the problems more clearly if the students don't get it. Gives a practice exam which really helps. Calls on everyone to answer problems. He's very nice. Take him you won't regret it at all!

Don't skip class, always do homework, and make use of tutoring. The tests were fair but the final exam was beyond difficult. I did alright on his tests and thought I understood the material, but the final was super difficult, brought me down to a B

I took Math 136 in the fall w/Hassett. This class definitely was not easy but if you take thorough notes and show up to office hours, you should be good. He is an amazing teacher and explains things very clearly and concisely. However, we did not use stat crunch. This class consists of 4 exams (one dropped) and the final. I highly recommend.

Great guy great professor

During the first few days of his class he comes off to be very strict, but in reality is a great teacher and uses real life examples to compare whatever he is teaching to. If you take his STATS class during a short semester, be ready to be doing work all day. Make use of the tutoring/office hours and do the homework, it's great for studying.

We use the book for practice problems, he does not like to follow the way the book does things, and teaches his own way, which in my opinion is easier. Tests extremely heavy in the grading, so you need to do good to get an A in the class. He does allow a cheat sheet, and we can use all 4 cheat sheets for the final. Amazing overall!!
