Such a great class to come to. Interesting discussion all night long that makes you forget the time passing by. I learned so much about politics in his class! And he has a great way of dividing up your grade into several different projects so you can always redeem yourself.

this professor is great. he taught the history of politic is so easy cause he used example of the present so you can understand. he makes you think about the pro's and con's of everything and then you can really make your personal idea out of politics. His teaching method is brilliant as it gets students involved in the process and pushes them to reach conclusions through logic instead of just reading from a book. Professor Hill is great. Gives you positive feedback. There isn't any homework. Prepare to sit and listen because he does go into a lot of detail. You don't have to buy any books. Just participate in class and do all the assignments. You will end up writing like 5 papers and they are approximately 2-3 pages each. He is always happy!

Prof. Hill is honestly the best professor I have ever had. I had him for both SSP 101 & SSP245. He's very understanding and truly enjoys what he does. Loves this professor ! He is very funny, kind and entertaining to his students even during the worst days. Personally, I'm not good in politics but I needed this for a requirement, but he really taught me a lot of interesting things. His lectures are really long though but our final was a simple essay.

Dreaded having to take this class as a core requirement but little did I know how amazing Prof. Hill was. He was always consistently enthusiastic despite teaching same class in morning and evening of same day during winter session. His style of teaching is effective and even without ppt slides, he keeps you engaged entire class. He's awesome!!!

sooo funny and without even trying so many hilarious moments and great class discussions if you show up and participate and do the class work there is no possible way you can fail he is one of the best professors and he should teach criminal justice I would highly recommend him he also has a very strange and interesting personality if that helps

Professor Hill was awesome. I took his class in the short semester and it was just enough but not too much work for that amount of time. At least for our class, it was 3 essays and no exams. Great if you love writing as I do, but even if you're not a strong writer you could definitely still pull out an A if you pay attention and participate.

I took this class for my first semester loved it. This class was very helpful it helped me learn a lot about the politics going on in this world and he tries his best to make the lectures as interesting as possible. You will have to pay attention in order to do well on papers as they do tie into in class lectures. Would totally take his class again

A great professor that knows his stuff. Pretty much came every class and taught the class with ease. I never felt like I was lost. Took the class during session 2 and he gave us one essay, a midterm and a final. We were also able to revise the essay for a better grade. Both midterm and finals were take home test. Highly recommend him.

He is by far the coolest funniest and one of the most intelligent professors I've had in LAGCC 1 midterm 1 argumentative essay and 1 Final very easy and manageable if you follow his outline. His class is discussion based so you should talk as much as possible he answers pretty much any question thrown at him. He is truly a great asset to LAGCC

Prof Hill's lectures are out of this world -- a bonafide genius -- linking the origins of the Greco-Roman world to our modern day American political structures. The only wish is that his class was for multiple semesters. Take him if you have any interest in the power structures of human existence.

Professor Hill explained the many aspects of politics in a clear and interesting way. I definitely recommend him as his lectures had the class engaged and interested in the material. Professor Hill, is really good at teaching power and politics, he made the class so interesting and it was never boring. He had three papers, Argumentative paper, John Lock and Thomas Hobbs paper for midterm and final was a paper from the text The New Jim Crow Mass incarceration by Michelle Alexander. He gives an outline for all his papers.

He's so nice! I hardly write reviews for professors until after they grade me but man this professor is awesome! I became interested in a subject I thought I wouldn't be interested in, and learned a lot. He is very respectful of his students. He is also a generous grader. But sometimes he can be too lenient and some students take advantage of that.

Everyone should take his class! Hes extremely clear on his ideas on grading and lectures. Midterm and final are papers. He gives a lot of time to write things. Textbook can be used for help on papers, but didnt use it for class. He acknowledges the effort you put in and as long as you show up and hand in your work (even if late) youll pass.

For context, this class was taken during the Covid pandemic. David Hill is the best professor ever. He doesn't care about grades, he only wants to teach. The class is super simple, he doesn't give much work, and the work he gives always had extra credit available. You can't fail his class even if you try.

COVID 19 times- I received an A in his class and because I studied for his quizzes. If you study and read carefully, you should pass. Be ready to read and write. He is a tough grader, and it's better for you that he makes you a better writer/reader. For the sake of your GPA, study, study, study, and read. You got this don't stress I wish you luck.

The course was asynchronous which means a ton of reading but the work is easy as long as you pay attention and make sure you understand his assignment. The class was simple for me because I was on top of the assignments. Easy A

Professor Hill is great. The class is all Asynchronous and very easy, just read the material and do your work. There's a few essays that you have to write and turn in later, so there's never no rush. I did really well in his class and the final exam was a breeze for me. I received an A, no doubt. TAKE HIS CLASS!!! No regrets.

I took this course for Fall 2020. Professor Hill provided all asynchronous, but he's not a quick responder to emails or messages on BB. The "textbook" were only weekly chapters of reading he suggested for the class, also weekly quizzes and exams. Overall very easy to pass by turning in journal questions and reading the chapters.

I am currently in professor Hill's class for US power and poltics and the discussion facilitated in the class is amazing. Professor Hill is definitely is a very open minded person and has all different sorts of inclusions of thoughts and viewpoints. Never will you ever have to hide your ideas or ideals and the classwork and assignments are minimal!

This man is hands down the most chill professor you can get. Our Lectures were excellent and his lessons were very thought-provoking. Student-led discussions were very common in my class and we all had the freedom to voice our opinions. Assignments are really easy and he is super flexible with his deadlines. I would absolutely take his class again.

I took him on Fall second session, he was so nice and such a great professor. I wish I could take him for every course. His lectures are clear to understand, he makes class fun, and he teaches in such a way that doesn't even feel like we are in class. Listen to him, and give your views, he appreciates every opinion. I took Professor Hill in an online class and never got to meet him in person, but he is amazing, the whole class was focus into writing our final paper, he was hilarious always trying to make jokes and making the class interesting. You won't regret taking his class.

I loved how open minded Professor Dave was. Of all the radical and liberty of topics we chose to write about, he kept himself unbiased with grading our papers. He graded our papers thoroughly and based them upon how well we were able to explain and expand on our points of views. His jokes always had meanings with great value and morality.

He is full of good energy and his lectures were always so fun as he is a funny person. He is really understanding and the nicest. I would love to have him again as a professor.
