What a professor! He makes learning fun. Be prepared to do a lot of work for this man, but he makes it FUN. He has the best personality of any professor I had. You should take his class you will learn a great amount about formatting your papers and writing.

Great teacher, but he does give weekly papers, daily quizzes, and intensive, nightly reading assignments. He is always willing to help IF you make an effort. Professor Huffman is strict on his attendance policy & accepts no tardiness, but definitely makes learning fun. This class was no "cake walk," but if you study and work hard, you should pass.

Mr. Huffman is challenging but he's very clear in his expectations. This IS college! Many people have been "pushed through" school their entire life, but Professor Huffman does NOT GIVE grades! All grades are EARNED & all grades are FINAL! Come to class, study, & submit work on time. You MUST be organized- if you're not, don't bother signing up!

Omg this teacher is psycho! He talked about ridiculous subjects and seemed crazy at times but he knew his course and was a great teacher. I'm happy I took this class because I learned to manage my time and what I am capable of. I highly recommend this teacher to anyone that's is serious about school and wants to enjoy class at the same time. :)

This man was great in the ways that he teaches. This class is going to make you work. The work was easy, but you just have to do the work. You can get an "A" in a snap if you just do the papers. You need to understand how to conduct research and understand MLA format.

This guy was one of the best teachers that I have had in a long time. The work is easy once you know what you are doing. If you do not know understand MLA, learn before you get here. This class will make you think and learn how to conduct research.

Mr. Huffman is AWESOME! He's hilarious! I always looked forward to coming to his class. So thankful I had the opportunity to be in his class. Every class since his seems dull now because his lectures were so interesting and funny. I should come to school to say hi to him someday and thank him for letting me see that school could be fun. When I have a hard day at school, I think back at how much fun his class was. I miss those days!

During the little time I spend with Mr. Huffman, I fell in love with him. At first, he may seem like a nutjob, but he did make some interesting and valid points. He is funny and hilarious. He seems very passionate about what he teaches, and knows the material very well. I really wish I could take him for ENGL 1020. I highly recommend him!!! :)

Not at all confusing. He likes to talk, but to a purpose. Very opinionated, but is ok if you don't agree. Gives a graded quiz 1st thing every class based on textbook reading the first half of semester, so don't delay getting books. Great teacher. sometimes class is spent waiting on him to grade things, instead of being taught, tho (busy guy)

I loved taking "Huff Daddy" class! I took his class in the spring 2013 and we went to London. He is hilariously crazy and I love the fact that class was an open discussion of the reading. Sometimes he would not agree with our views but he was respectful about it and asked us to elaborate on why we got the message that we got from the articles

First of all, I am African American and have had Prof. Huffman for 3 classes and never felt that there was preferential treatment of any kind. In fact he seems to go out of his way to be lenient to people of all races and ethnic backgrounds. He is not an "EASY" instructor but if you study and on time to his class you will do fine. He is awesome.

Profesor Huffman I a really cool teacher. He is opinionated but is fun. He can be an ass but wants you to learn. You need to learn MLA or you are screwed. The first half of the semester he will give a quiz at the start of class. Don't worry about the first one he uses it to scare you and teach you what he wants you to study for. Over all great guy.

This was only my first semester, but Prof. Huffman was my far my favorite teacher. He's not going to just give you and A, but if you at least try you can make a B easily if you do the homework assigned and use your MLA book. Professor Huffman is a great teacher. While he's not just going to give you an A for just being there you can make one if you put in a little bit of effort to do so. You do have to the assigned reading and homework, because he likes to give oral quizzes, but the quizzes are straight from the chapter. I hope I can take his class for English II.

Great Professor. Just please do the readings and all projects. I came close to failing, but Professor Huffman isn't a harsh professor. If you truly want to learn and do well, DO IT. He was the professor that gave me the wake up call i needed. No excuses folks. easy work just dont get lazy and slack.

Huffman is a loud & engaging speaker. He will command your attention & will call you by name to add to the discussion. Actively read the assigned reading before class & study the bolded items, bc these will be on the quiz the next day. Take your assignments seriously, complete them on time, & you will be in good shape. Not easy, but worth my time.

Professor Huffman is one of the top instructors at Southwest. His classes are not just educational, but are actually interesting as well. If you have any questions or need help he's available and willing to help you as much as you need. He wants you to succeed. I think he's awesome. I highly recommend taking his class.

Mr. Huffman is one HILARIOUS teacher! Never a dull moment with him! Be prepared for oral quizzes after each reading and also papers to write. They are usually easy to write. Also, his class was very verbal. We have tons of interesting class discussions. Sometimes we get off subject and then it's time to go :) lol. Great caring teacher!

I love his paper topics and his style of teaching. He is really funny . I hope to get him again for another class. definitely the most interesting class i have taken so far in college.

One of the greatest instructors at the school. Thought it was going to be tough but ened up enjoying the course. Also took another one of his courses and enjoyed that one as well. Would take again if needed to. Great personality, never boring, care about his students, and will help you in any way he can.

My only drawback with him is that he is a bit unorganized sometimes and our grades get back to us a little late. Even with that i would take him again. His papers that he assigned to us were thought provoking. Oh and DO NOT be late to his class repeatedly because the man DOES NOT play with tardiness.

Professor Huffman is a good teacher, a book is mandatory for this class because you have to read over your material, and take quizzes over them the next time you have class. He would sometimes get off topic with his lectures but overall his class is easy if you study and pass the quizzes (BEWARE OF POP QUIZZES) and turn in your work!

One of the better professors at STCC. He is clear on all assignments and goes over every quiz and test so you know exactly what you missed. Interesting lecture topics inclass disvussions.

He is really funny but pretty old school. The only issues have are from a religious stand point. But academically he is a good teacher as long as you come to class. He does not play around with half way doing stuff. You need to be prepared to write good quality essays.

Professor Huffman is one of the best. He isn't a tough grader but he does expect his work to be done exactly how he wants it, and nothing less. Most of your grades will come from daily quizzes, so make sure to always go to class. These quizzes are not hard as long as you read exactly what he tells you.

The course load was expected for a college class. Anyone should be able to be successful and pass as long as they do the required work.

Be a good and committed student. You will find a great and inspirational professor in him. Do your work; he will do his work; when he gives you work to study, go and study cause there will be no magic to passing his exams and quizzes. Otherwise, he is a fascinating professor. I love Huffman. He's made my time at SWTCC. Had him since my first semester at SWTCC in 1010. I've taken him since then, from ENGL1020 to early & modern world lit. & topics in dystopian lit. His classes are engaging/fun & he truly wants to see his students succeed. Dont take him if ur sensitive, as he does approach sensitive topics.

Professor Huffman's classes are not difficult; however, if you are not willing to study, attend every lecture, and put forth your best effort, you shouldn't sign up for his classes. He is very thorough in covering the material. The topics, debates, and conversations in his classes are very engaging. I recommend taking his courses, especially Lit.
