This guy is exactly the way I imagined a good philosophy prof would be. He's smart, funny, interesting, humble and he has the open mind and curiosity of a little kid. Always starts great group discussions and really ponders student's questions/ideas. Definetly recommend taking a PHL elective with him if you have a chance.

My favourite teacher alongside Want, S. so far. They are both extremely helpful and Hunter continuously asks his students to reach out for help if they need it. He encourages students to drop by his office for one-on-one. Tests and exams are very fair and he likes to give out bonus marks ;).

The exams were unfair. He hands out the exam from one side of the classroom and tell the students "Once you received the exam sheets, you can start". Students at the other side of the classroom have less times to do the exam. He keeps giving out instructions while the students are trying to focus. Some had only 45 minutes to do the 60 minutes exam.

He writes down excellent notes and always explains real well. He also encourages group discussions which gives you a chance to talk to your peers (even though you dont want to participate). Midterm and exams are all essays but they are all in the notes that he types on the board plus the book.

Great prof, content was a bit boring but he explained it in a way that held my attention. Do the workbook exercises and pay attention in class, it helps a lot. Speak up in class, if you don't understand something, ask, and he'll explain it differently. The only thing I didn't like was he tended to treat some people like children, a bit patronizing.

This prof and the course itself was very boring and difficult. The concept takes a lot of time to fully grasp onto & so you need to be on top of your work to be successful in this course. His lectures are very monotone and long. Hes good at explaining but this course is just a waste of time and can easily lower your gpa. Attend the tutorials!

David is a good and caring person but his lectures are so dry that they would make you fall asleep, TAs are really important so I hope you'll get a good one (unlike me). Keep his examples in mind, and write everything possible down to your tests since they want many explanation from you. I hated the class first but after figuring out, it was easy.

I had Professor Hunter for SSH105. The course itself is pretty boring in my opinion but I think that this prof did a really good job at explaining things. The weekly quizzes are a great way to boost your mark. As long as you watch the lectures youll be good. But its not the type of content that you can just guess the answers to. Hes wholesome.

Dr. Hunter was an absolute gem in my opinion. I struggled a bit with the concepts early on in the sem but ended up receiving over 95% on the final exam by attending his lectures and reading the textbook, as well as having the best TA (D we love you). He genuinely wants people to do well. However, if you are lazy or do not like reading don't bother.

The course was well structured and there is a lot of opportunity to do well in the class. Go to TA tutorial and extra help. I recommend reading the textbook, twice and then memorize key definition boxes by using active recall, cue cards might work. I used these tips and did better than psychology students who rewrote the entire course in word.
