Tests are hard; very broad so you'll have to spend a lot of time studying cadavers and studying pointless info that may not even be on the test. Work hard, study hard and you may pass with a B. nice teacher, really laid back, easy grader. if you put in an effort in your grade, so will he.
Dr. Jackson expects you to learn what he teaches in lab lectures. Which may make studying intense for some but if you study his PPts, take a few notes, and put in some effort, you will pass his exams. His lectures are clear, he gives good feedback, he will take the time to answer questions, and gives great preparation for his exams. Great prof!
By far the best professor I have had at GCU. Besides being so nice and pleasant to talk to, he legitimately cares about each of his students and will go out of his way to help you. His lectures are GOLD. Short, to-the-point, and EXTREMELY useful. He explains even the most complicated subjects in a way that anybody can understand. Get him for lab!!
Dr. Jackson is a great teacher! Bio can get pretty difficult at times but this teacher makes it so much easier to understand! He's very intelligent and is willing to help you out with any questions and he lets you know exactly what you need to know for the quizzes and the exams! Would definitely take again!
I had Dr. Jackson for anatomy 201 lecture. Anatomy is a hard subject and is very intimidating at first. Dr. Jackson provides amazing ppts AND study guides (optional, not for grade). 10/10 would recommend this professor and I would definitely take his classes in the future!
Loved having Dr. Jackson as a professor for 202 Lecture. It is not mandatory to go to class but he goes over each power point and what you need to know. If you don't go to class it's not the end of the world but it helps A LOT if you do. He basically tells you what is going to be on the quizzes and exams. Definitely recommend having him!
Dr. Jackson was awesome, plain and simple. He tells you what he expects and what you need to know. Just do your studying from the powerpoints and you will be fine. I made quizlets to help me with the quizes and tests and only ended up missing 16pts total in the class. He makes it fun and enjouyable and he is EXTREMELY knowlegable! MUST TAKE PROF!!!
Literally one of the bet prof's i've ever had. He is a doctor for crying out loud. If you want someone knowledgeable & down to earth, this is your guy!
Dr. Jackson was probably my favorite professor this semester. His exams are very application-based in order to see how you can apply the knowledge taken from his class into the real world rather than just regurgitating information. He is incredibly involved in the Anatomy Club, allowing you to further see how much he cares for teaching students!
Overall great teacher! I am trying to get him for 202 as well. He does a grading curve on tests which really comes in handy especially when he always hints at what is on the test! Listen up and come to class at least 2 times a week and you won't regret it!
He was amazing! My favorite teacher so far! So engaging and makes material understandable. Any anatomy class is going to be hard and you are going to have to work for. He likes to throw in stories from his medical practices. He is very straight forward and gives you a good idea of what the quizzes/tests will cover. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Jackson is the best! I was going into patho thinking it would be more difficult than 201 and 202, but Dr. Jackson made the class manageable and super fun. He emphasizes on the important stuff to know for quizzes and exams, along with a handful of intriguing patient stories. He takes the time to give great advice for future medical careers.
Best teacher I have ever or will ever take! He is incredibly smart and encourages questions and a comfortable environment! TAKE HIS CLASS!
He basically reads off of powerpoint. Class was passed on 4 exams and he's hard to get a hold of outside of class/ unwilling to help. Doesn't provide any extra credit whats so ever. Only the 4 exams and participation. Doesn't call on you during class which I like. He's the patho teacher too so the exams are in more depth then what he teaches.
I've had Dr. Jackson for 3 different classes and he is definitely one of my favorite professors at GCU. His lectures are great and he is super helpful in class! If you get the chance, take him!
Great professor, Dr. Jackson is very caring for his students. He is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is really smart and makes lectures fun. I would take him for ANY class.
Dr. Jackson is my favorite Prof at GCU and the only reason I will ever voluntarily take a 7am. He has great lectures & stories from his work experience that help you remember things. Also, literally everything that he emphasizes in class is on the tests. He lets u know what he's testing you on, you just have to study it.
Great professor! I have an horrible experiences with adjunct professors and he is one of the GREATEST! Makes things easy to remember by using real life experience examples. He makes class interesting and you want to be there. Definitely take his class if you can!
Dr. Jackson's patho class was my favorite! Tough class but you learn a lot and Dr. Jackson is very knowledgeable in the field. He shares his experience as a doctor, which helps. Study, study, study, Dr. Jackson is very up front with what information is testable and going to class is how you get that info. Great instructor!
Dr. Jackson is a great choice for patho. He makes everything interesting and always goes over the important stuff again before the quizzes. He doesn't take participation, but this class is hard, so you better show up if you want to pass. He is very accessible outside of class as well.
Dr. Jackson gives amazing lectures, and makes sure to highlight what the most important content in his PowerPoints are with theoretical test questions he could give you. Overall, the class was interesting but Dr. Jackson made it one of my favorite classes I'd taken in college.
Patho was my favorite class that I took for pre-req's and Dr. Jackson is part of what made it so fun. He is a great lecturer and has a fun-loving personality. He is super clear on what we will be tested on, so as long as you pay attention and go to class, its an easy A.
Dr. Jackson really knows what he is talking about. He has so much experience in what he teaches and is a fantastic communicator. His lectures were easily understandable, even though the class still required me to study a lot outside of it. Take him if you get the chance- you will be thankful you did!
Dr. Jackson is a wonderful teacher! He has a lot of knowledge and interesting stories from the medical field to keep the class engaged and fun. He also is willing to help you when you need it and loves to learn new things. I would highly recommend taking this class with Dr. Jackson if you can!
If you get the opportunity to take any of Dr. Jackson's courses, DO IT!!! He's so intelligent and makes class extremely enjoyable. He is one of the only few professors at GCU who treats class like an actual college class.
Mr. jackson has by far been one of my favorite professors his lectures go by so quick and he literally tells you what is going to be on the exams if you go in to office hours he's more than happy to review all the material.
Dr. Jackson is great at answering questions and is genuinely interested by his work. But there are always questions on the exams that he makes you work for and, in my opinion, a little unfair. Still he gives great lectures and offer great material to study from. Go to office hours, super helpful!
Dr. J is THE BEST. TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU CAN! He tells the best stories from his time as a doctor and explains the content so well! Patho was a tough class, but he made it so much fun! The class is based almost entirely off tests, so study hard!
Dr. Jackson is awesome. The best professor Ive had at GCU thus far. I suggest him for Patho (BIO-322). He knows how to apply his own knowledge and experience to the subject to make it easier to understand and a lot more fun to learn. As long as you follow the material and study youll pass!
I LOVE DR. JACKSON!!!! He is the best professor ever! He is super funny, with lots of stories from in the field. He makes complex topics so simple. If you can take him, DO IT! He is easily the best anatomy professor. I am sad to not have his class anymore!:(
Professor David was seriously one of my all time favorites. Patho is a HARD class but he gives you great buzz words that help you remember the disease components. His tests are hard but give it your all and study hard, it will pay off.
Prof. David Jackson is heaven-sent. He is the most amazing professor I have ever had. He tells stories in lecture that really supplement the learning. He lays out exactly what he wants you to know for exams so as long as you study a ton and listen to him, you are golden. You can tell he is extremely smart and I was always excited to go to his class
David Jackson is such a great professor! He makes it very clear what he expects from the class and makes himself available outside of class. Even though he does not take participation definitely go to his class because in his lectures he usually highlights a lot of exam buzzwords that you can't always get by reviewing the powerpoints.
wow, all I can say is if you want to pass with an A in patho def get Jackson!!! For once I actually enjoyed going to class. His lectures are so interesting and he is such an amazing teacher, he explained thoroughly and is very approachable so if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask him. Patho is hard but doable if u study and get Jackson.
He's a good professor. Even though I got a B-, I would still take him again. There was only 3 big exams and participation points for that class and I am for sure did not study enough because those exam are huge. You should really listen to his lecture, it helped me with the exam later on.
I absolutely loved professor Jackson! I was always so engaged in the lectures because he makes them very interesting. He is very funny and is very clear on what will be on the exams. Theres only 4 exams, so I highly reccomend you study for them, but they are not difficult if you study. If I ever have the opportunity to take his class again, I will
This guy is dope! Tells you exactly what you need to know for the exam. Makes the lectures very interesting. Great guy, I was a big fan!!
I loved this professor, he made everything so interesting and was very helpful when going in for office hours. I got a B+ solely because I got a 53% on my first exam and your grade is based on only 4 exams. Studying for the tests can be hard because he gives 40+ pathologies but if you struggle go in for office hours and he'll help you study.
TAKE DR. JACKSON FOR PATHOPHYSIOLOGY!! The way he teaches the material makes it seem so much less overwhelming. He is also very funny and will connect concepts to his medical field experience. Such a great teacher.
David Jackson is a great professor who is very educated on what he teaches. He has stories that he shares from being a healthcare professional that apply to the lecture. Awesome guy and has a very welcoming presence
By far the best professor I've ever had! He doesn't try and trick you and will literally set you up for success when it comes to the exams. His teaching is clear and does a great job and explaining things. If you can, take him, he is literally the best!
Participation points are given to you automatically, 5-7.5 points upon completion of weekly modules (may be more than one at 2.5 points each), other than that grades are based on tests. He tells you the important material to memorize which guarantees like a B. I probably studied 12-20 hours for each test, slacked so badly on the last one, loved him
He is amazing and I would recommend him for patho. Go to class and he will explain what to study for exams. If you don't understand something, his office hours are very helpful and he gives you stories on how to remember pathologies for the tests. Overall, 10/10
Best patho professor! He is a doctor and has experience in everything he teaches. He is very smart and can answer almost any question. His lectures are very interesting and will keep you engaged. He has lecture videos that you should watch the night before the lecture. Other than that focus on what he points out and the "buzzwords" he mentions. A+!
Dr. Jackson is one of the most knowledgeable professors I've had the privilege of taking. Not only is he extremely experienced in his field, but his lectures are extremely engaging and quite funny. He teaches and explains difficult subjects really well, and provides a lot of mnemonics to help remember topics. I highly recommend taking him!
Dr. Jackson is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is very clear on what he will test you on and what he would not. All of his lectures are pre recorded and posted every week so if you have to miss class you have the ability to make up the lecture online. He is so hilarious and it was seriously such an honor to be in his class. W teacher
Dr. Jackson was one of the best professors I have had for my pre reqs. He makes lecture so enjoyable and I really look forward to his classes every week. Studying outside of class is definitely necessary, but he does everything possible to ensure we know what we are being tested on and what we aren't. HIGHLY recommend him for patho
Professor Jackson was great! Patho is a difficult course and you have to put in the work outside of class just because there is so much material but he makes his lectures very enjoyable and is just humorous in class! I would recommend him to anyone!
I loved going to his lectures so much, he was so funny. He has an MD so with all of his diseases, he gives you vivid stories from his patients that help a lot with memorizing the different pathologies. You can tell he loves what he does and was always so energetic in class. My most favorite professor by far
Professor Jackson was one of the best professors I've had. He is very straight forward on what is expected on the exams. He is also on top of things regarding grading and lectures. He made patho so easy for me because he is entertaining and knowledgeable. Of course this is a difficult class as it as, but pay attention, use the resources, and study!
Dr. Jackson always made the class so fun by relating real-life medical school experiences and doctor experiences to the lecture. He was very outgoing and knowledgeable about anatomy and always made me interested in asking more questions. He is smart, breaks things down with ease, and knew how to make the class entertained. I recommend him highly!
I seriously can not express how good of a professor this man is! His lectures were engaging and the information on his PowerPoints were all that was required for his exams. I would highly recommend him if he continues to teach this class.
Absolutely loved Professor Jackson. One of the best teachers at GCU for sure. His class is difficult, but he prepares you very well for the exams. He uses personal anecdotes from his experiences in the field to help relate to the material. Super friendly and knowledgable as well. Would take him for every healthcare course if I could!!
hes amazing. If youre looking for a patho professor this is ur guy.
Dr. Jackson is an amazing professor who has firsthand knowledge of what he is teaching. He shares his stories of working as a doctor in hospitals that are applicable to what we are learning; I always look forward to this class. Prepare to study hard, the exams are difficult and try not to miss class. Take this professor if you can!
Dr. Jackson makes an otherwise difficult class rather manageable. He is a very real teacher and tells students exactly what buzzwords/topics will be on the exam. He wants all his students to succeed in his class and is very encouraging to students. He will help you succeed in his class and in your understanding!
Dr. Jackson was by far my favorite professor this semester. He is extremely knowledgeable and tells stories that apply to the topics covered. You can tell that he cares for his students and that he genuinely enjoys his job. The class is difficult, but he makes it easier to understand. His class was one that I really enjoyed going to.
Dr. Jackson is an AMAZING professor! He knows how to make lectures engaging and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to take his class. Be sure to study the material each day and you will do great on your exams. The exams can be challenging but don't pull any tricks. He's so funny and easy to approach outside of class.
Dr. Jackson is one of my favorite professors. I am taking his summer BIO 211 course and it barely feels accelerated. He truly cares and is hilarious. He is honest about his class and even sent me extra slides from other classes so I can learn more about topics that interest me! I will be looking to get into his pathology class, as he is GREAT.
Dr, Jackson is amazing. He is hilarious and very very knowledgeable. He always related lectures to clinical settings and shares lots of real clinical stories. He is extremely clear on what is expected for exams and where to focus when studying, which is very helpful because exams are worth so much. Awesome doctor.
He is a really good teacher, everything you need to succeed is on his slides and he cares about his students. The course is pretty heavy so it is difficult, but he makes it fun and easy to understand. I would definitely choose his class again.
Dr Jackson is my favorite professor at GCU. He's extremely knowledgable and always willing to help and answer questions if content is not understood. BIO322 was a difficult class but Dr Jackson made it manageable. His lectures were amazing and interesting.
Dr. Jackson is a great professor! His lectures are always engaging and he always relates topics to clinical settings that he has experienced firsthand or even shows videos of certain operations. The content is difficult, but he does a good job of simplifying it during lectures. His exams are straightforward with tricks. Take him if you can!
I have never seen a professor so passionate about the content he is teaching. Such an awesome dude.
Dr. Jackson is an amazing professor. He is very straight forward with his teaching and what he wants you to learn. He applies everything to the medical field along with many interesting stories. He is such a great teacher, take him if you can!!!!!
He is literally the best teacher at GCU. Dr. Jackson cares about his students and it is obvious he loves his job. GCU is more than lucky to have him. I learned so much in his class.
Me personally, at the beginning of the semester I didn't like this class. I started to go to office hours and slowly but surely did my grade go up. He is willing to help you IF YOU PUT IN THE WORK. He can only do so much and the rest is on you. All of his tests, are based on his lectures so go to class. I highly recommend you take him if you can!!
Professor Jackson is probably my favorite professor this semester, and here's why. When he lectures he not only gives personable and memorable applications, but he is VERY well-versed in this course and says if specific parts of the lecture are "high yield" or "low yield" curriculum! Sure the class is tricky in memorization, but he makes it easier.
Professor Jackson is the best teacher I have had at GCU! He is so clear with what will be on the exams. I received an A on every exam which was very out of the ordinary for me and I am not a strong test taker. He teaches the material harder than he tests it and he will say that too.
Your grade is 99% based on tests. The other 1% is participation (show up to 1 class a week) points.
Engaging explanations in class. Will tell you what is and isn't on the exam. 10/10 would recommend
One of my favorite professors here, he was funny, had a lot of passion for the topics at hand and the lectures he did were easy to understand. This course was pretty exam focused but the material was all given during the lectures if you listen. 10/10 would recommend.
Awesome professor. Passionate about what he teaches and very knowledgable. Attendance is mandatory only 1 day a week for participation.
Dr. Jackson is one of the best professors I've had. His lectures are very interesting and to the point. He also does exam reviews in class and also lets the class know what material to focus on for exams. The class itself requires a good amount of studying and I recommend reading the book to fill in details not included in lecture.
Dr. Jackson is GREAT. His lecture style and practice questions helped me retain the content from pathophysiology, and I feel prepared for PA school. He is approachable, kind, and extremely knowledgable. He makes lectures engaging and tells stories from his medical experience as an MD. I would highly recommend taking Dr. Jackson if you can!
Had for 211 first loved him so much I decided to take his 7am. And I am not a morning person. He is so awesome and a truly amazing professor!
He is amazing! I highly recommend, he makes lectures super fun and helps a lot when exams come up. He does practice questions so you understand how exam questions can look like. He is a doctor, so he will add real life stories to whatever you are learning. Also makes the material understandable and does not test on "low value" information.
i cannot recommend him enough honestly. truly is one of the smartest professors i've had. he knows everything about patho and can explain it multiple different ways and answer any questions. he is hilarious and makes lectures fun to listen to. he truly cares about all his students and makes you very prepared for the exams.
Dr. Jackson is an excellent professor; he breaks everything down and makes sure you know what is needed not only for the exams but for nursing aswell. Make sure you show up to his class, he really helps you understand the material. This class is hard, just show up and study and you'll do well
Great professor! I have taken several classes with him and his teaching style is the same throughout. He is very clear on what needs to be studied for exams and reviews are always helpful. I actually look forward to his lecture. Not to mention he had some really cool stories from his experiences that make the lectures engaging. Highly recommend!
Excellent professor, always willing to help and had very interesting lectures. Loved all the personal anecdotes from his experiences as a medical student which he would tie into the lectures!
This professor is so amazing at explaining pathophysiologies seen in the body. He is extremely knowledgeable on everything that he teaches. He is funny and tells stories that will help you remember.
Amazing Professor! He's so funny and his clinical stories are awesome to hear about and they always tie in with what we are learning in class. The course has a lot of content to study, but Dr. Jackson helps you as much as he can. Study the notes and watch the videos he gives the links to and you'll be fine.
Dr. Jackson is my favorite professor I have had at GCU. His background and experience as an MD made his lectures fun to listen to and applicable to our studies. He takes participation once a week but I recommend going to class every day because you will miss a lot of info. The pts are almost all from exams, so study the high yield info early on!
Dr. Jackson is quite knowledgeable in his field. He gives real clinical stories from his personal career in the ER to help with understanding. He gives review days which are quite helpful. He goes quick through the material, but watching his lecture videos and reading his slides ahead of time is very helpful. I really enjoyed him as a professor.
