I did only 30% of my homework so the grade I received I think was deserved, but overall he is a great humorous professor and I wish he taught more courses!

Being a Military Service member and taking college courses is often times a difficult mix but taking Mr. Jones's class made classes easy to understand and he was flexible with scheduling conflicts. There was a lot of homework since it was a summer class but he still didn't assign more than what was necessary. If he was still at west hills I would definitely take him again!

Im not a fan of math, but the way Mr. Jones teaches is awesome!! He breaks down every little part of the problem & makes sure you understand it. Hes super funny & helpful! Hes really involved w/ students via email which is great! All HW is done through mathlab. You get 3 exams & the final. Very easy class, jst make sure you study for your test.

His witty humor and enthusiasm in class makes showing up to class a little more tolerable. He's very lenient, but don't get on his bad side because he will intentionally consume Chipotle and make you rue the day you dared cross him

I can honestly say that Professor Jones was one of the best, if not "the best," instructor I have ever had. He gave enormous amounts of help and cared whether we passed or not. He took time out of his weekends to assist students that were having trouble. Would definitely recommend. If I ever have any more math classes ill look for his first.

As a non traditional adult student, professor Jones has been an inspiring force in my academic career. He is passionate about teaching and he loves math. He is accesible outside of the classroom and he is really entertaining which makes math fun. I highly recommend him.

He takes the time to meet up with you when you out side of class if you have questions or need help. His laid back personality makes it easy for people with anxiety (such as myself). The class notes are posted online after each class just in case you missed a day or left early. I've always struggled with Algebra but he made it easy to understand.

One thing you need to know about Professor Jones is that he is great at his job at teaching. I took 3 of his classes and enjoyed them very much. There is a lot of homework, which you should at lest try to do because it will really help in class. Even if you struggle, he finds potential in you and does not doubt that you will pass. Math is usually taught as a very abstract subject, and so, it is difficult for many people to understand what it all means on a physical level. Mr. Jones is great at giving real life applications to the content and goes out of his way to help students when they need help. He will help you truly understand the material and will make you laugh a lot!

He is a amazing teacher. I had him for math 200 and 230 I learn a lot from him. He gives extra credit so take advantage of it. There is a bit of homework but that's how you get your practice. Mr. Jones thoroughly spends class time making sure students understand the criteria for tests. If you have a question, ask. Although attendance isn't mandatory, it's a good idea to go to class to understand the procedure of problems. Also, take his practice tests as those are the greatest pieces of information in preparation for the tests.

David Jones is hands down the best professor I have had at College of the Sequoias. I had it already in mind before the semester that Calculus 3 was going to be extremely extremely difficult and he made everything seem so simple. There were even weekends where he would help students study for the test. The man is hilarious, genuine, and a genius.

Great professor! Would definitely take him again. I'm horrible at math so I was nervous to take this class. Jones made math tolerable. He related life back to stats so it made it easier. Final and midterm were easy. Just make sure you stay on top of the mymathlab HW and quizzes.

Jones is an awesome stats teacher. I suck at math and Jones makes it easier to understand. You get to choose what the percentages of everything is, so make sure to keep an eye when doing everything. I had this teacher for 360, 200 & 230. Im literally the child left behind in math, its my kryptonite but this teacher has helped me survive this mountainous climb through math. Hes certainly unorthodox but as long as theres a Rufino in the class, entertainment remains. Just do hw & really try, he will help however he can.

I recommend taking his class! Easiest math class I have ever taken. Before the pandemic we would take notes every class day and do some HW examples but during the pandemic Jones came through with YouTube videos to help us out at home. DO ALL YOUR HW AND QUIZZES and you will be guaranteed to pass the only hard part about this class was the project.

Extended MANY deadlines so students had a chance to submit work. I usually dont like doing math but this teacher made math so much easier to understand. Class was moved online half way through the year, but when attending class it was very easy to follow his lectures.

He's an amazing teacher and made it well known that you really should do the homework/know the material if you want to pass the class right off the get go. He has office hrs and is actually willing to help students who ask for it. If he has Math/Stat Lab then ABUSE the Ask My Professor button at the top "help area" and he'll help you!

I had professor Jones for Math 230 and Math 021 (Stat), both have A. A lot of homework on Pearson. But Professor Jones always there to help. He replies any question back fast. He scans all his lecture notes on Canvas, lecture videos on youtube (for the alternate online class).

I learned more about statistics with Professor Jones than I have with any other professor. He provides the tools you will need and explains the material quite well. If you put in the effort into making it to class and doing the homework, getting an A will not be hard.

Prof. Jones is a great instructor, I recommend anyone planning to take math 154 whenever, to take it with prof, jones. Lectures are easy to follow, and include examples to further understand the material.

He was an absolute gem of a teacher. He would go out of his way to make sure I passed the class and even went as far as to offer more help even after the semester was over. He is also very laid back, understanding, and all around just a very cool dude.

He is a very nice guy. He cares about his students well and always offers help. It is impossible not to pass this class. I think most students get A. However, he lets us know the point that we should learn about this course if the students attend his Zoom conference.

We had 1 midterm, 1 project & a final. He gives you everything you need to pass & do well & is very vocal about his students taking self-responsibility to pass. Extended HW many times.

He gives good lectures on each chapter explaining what the chapter will discuss. He makes things easier to understand and has great office hours! I would definitely recommend his class if it's your first time taking Stats.

I really enjoyed this class. Professor Jones was very funny during the lectures, and was always available to help with questions. The class was a little difficult because of the fast pace, but as long as you do the homework, you will have no problem passing.

Prof. Jones is a "diamond in the rough" here at COS. His lectures are amazing, he grades clearly, and is one of the most caring people, let alone caring instructors, whom I have come across online. I am not so sure how he is in person, but his online presence was incredible. Take this professor if you have the chance.

Honestly probably one of the best math professor/teacher I have ever had throughout my education history. Homework wasnt mandatory for the grade which was dope. He gave prac tests that very similar to the actual test which was a nice change when compared to other professors. In short he made a math class enjoyable.

He is very clear in the syllabus about what to expect in the online course and made homework/practice tests optional with only 4 tests. He has hilarious lectures and he gives you all the resources for an easy A if you put in the effort. 11/10 recommend taking his class.

Even thought it was an online class, I found his video lectures very helpful, and I knew if I needed help, I could contact him and get a response pretty quickly. The tests weren't too difficult and he gave extra points for showing work, which helped me a lot.

Professor Jefe is a great professor. I took him for intro to computer programming, and through his lectures and teaching I went from knowing nothing about C++ to being able to develop programs all by myself. He is a great lecturer who records all of his class sessions and posts them to YouTube, so it's easy to keep up with all the content.

Overall a really good professor, hw assignments are handed out weekly like any other class with the occasional test. He grades the assignments sort of strictly but explains why you got marked down and how to fix what you did wrong for the next time. Also was flexible with late work which was very nice.

Professor Jones is very easy going professor, he provide a lot of the time outside class, easy to reach nearly all the time, and study session during weekend. He is open to help in all area, clear explaination of all the class content.

Jones is a great professor who knows what he's doing when he's teaching the material, and is good about giving you feedback on your struggles. I highly recommend going to his office hours outside of class, because it can and will make all the difference in your performance in the class if you're willing to work hard for what you hope to achieve.

The difficulty of the class is pretty average because if you just ignore the videos he puts on youtube which is really accessible, you may end up falling behind. It becomes easier when you put in the work and effort to watch and analyze these as well as come to class as it's a huge aspect when it comes to tests. Amazing and reasonable teacher 10/10

I can't speak to his teaching in stats, but the experience in Calc 3 was great. The homework was optional, so it felt self taught outside of class, but the practice exams matched the actual exam closely. There's a lot of extra credit so the lack of homework isn't a problem for grading. He's also down to Earth and talks with students on Discord.

Very straight to the point about assignments and gives you plenty of time to study. He also gives reviews for the midterm, project and final, and reviews are exactly like the exam. If you have a tough time with math, this class would be best for you as it is broken down and takes you step by step on the homework and exams. Great professor!!!

Mr.Jones really does care about his students and will help in anyway that he can. He is very straightforward with everything he teaches in class and if you miss a class you can find the videos on YouTube. I have taken multiple classes with him since 2016 he really connects with his students. I recommend him for any math class you need.

I am not very good at math and for me to pass with a B is great I love the fact that even on the days you are not able to make it to class you still have the opportunity to watch the videos of class and still be able to get notes I would recommend Professor Jones and would retake his class if needed.

Professor Jones was a good teacher an I learned well from him. He does give extra credit and is clear when grading. The only reason I gave him a 4/5 is because he uses quite a bit of profanity which is very unprofessional and can get uncomfortable. As long as that doesn't bother you, you'll be fine in his class.

Professor Jones has given me a second opportunity to join his class, although I didn't do so well the first time. Not necessarily because it's a difficult course, I just had many issues outside of school that was time conflicting and difficult to focus in school. I'm thankful I had the second opportunity to redeem myself and recommend this course.

Professor Jones provides everything you need in order to pass this course. If you miss a day of lecture, you can probably find it on his YouTube channel which is very helpful. He responds to emails within the hour and answers any concerns.

I took Mr. Jones online statistics 21 class this summer. I knew I was biting off a lot to chew when I started and I was not wrong but Mr. Jones extended due dates and offered plenty of extra credit and I was able to finish with an A+. Because it was online I did not get to know him very well but through video he seemed very down to earth.

Teaching style is very unique, creates good connections so showing that he cares. Would take his class again. We had a lot of fun lectures and a lot of laughs. 10/10

Professor Jones has been an inspiration to me and my academic career. He is a truly caring professor that will help you through any means he is able. The only way you fail his class is if you do not care yourself. I was his first time teaching CALC 065 but i feel from previous courses that he delivered lecture above and beyond. He was professional and funny at the same time during lectures. Getting grades were simple to understand on what has to be done. Not a lot of assignments, difficult but very manageable. Overall, great professor and would definitely have him again.

You have to WANT to learn calculus to pass this class. TEST HEAVY is an understatement & they're difficult tests, be warned. You need to be able to get back up if you fail an exam and keep fighting to pass. Homework is not mandatory but it is extra credit.. do every problem, if you can't do one, ask for help. It is not easy but Prof Jefe will help.

David Jones was a great professor even though the homework load was a lot. All homework is on ALKES which gives you a list of assignments due weekly. David Jones posts lecture videos for all topics, and they are very helpful. I would just recommend not taking other heavy classes with this one, because the homework can sometimes take a while.

He made learning easy and fun. If you are unclear on anything he is great about guiding you step by step. He isn't wanting to fool you he wants to make sure you have a clear understanding. He is able to teach in different styles for different learners.

Funny professor who knows how to make a class entertaining. Chill dude and the class was easy. Sometimes I didn't even need the textbook to do the assignments; the lecture just did it for me. Only "bad" thing was that he accused me of cheating only because I don't know anything about Dungeons and Dragons.

Professor Jones is professional, funny and caring. If you're considering taking his class, just do it. You'll be fine as long as you attend lectures and do the homework (very beneficial). If you can't attend lectures, he has them recorded. He doesn't have office hours but he comes to class early and is very easily accessible outside class.

His lectures are straight forward and easy to follow, as he writes out the lesson on projection. He keeps an eye on the class for anyone who looks confused. He also offers extra credit in multiple forms and gives partial credit for questions you get wrong, so long as your worked showed you were on the right path and just messed something up.

If you put in the work, you will get a good grade. PLEASE don't procrastinate on doing the online homework. It's not fun cramming I still see numbers in my sleep.

If you pay attention in lecture, and do the homework you will get an A. He's not one to throw curveballs at you on a test which is nice. All in all make sure you take a class with Jefe!

He has videos to refer back to when you're confused on lectures and has a ton of extra credit opportunities. He also does have helpful weekend office hours if you're ever stuck on a problem. Professor Jones sets you up for success! He is a big advocate for his students. This class doesn't come easy to everyone (like me) but with effort mixed with his teaching style you can't fail! He tutors on Saturdays and stay over every class. It's an atmosphere of positivity and laughs. Best professor I've had my entire COS journey hands down !!!

Good professor to take calculus 3 with. He is a funny guy who is also caring, and has a forgiving grade policy in case you miss an exam. The material was presented clearly and it was pretty easy overall. No HW was required to be turned in.

Jones is an excellent lecturer who brings positive energy to his class and quickly creates a comfortable atmosphere. He does not require to complete the H.W, which it can be a good and bad thing, I recommend doing it in order to learn the material and A's the exams.

Even though this is not an online course, the professor still recorded all classes on zoom and later post them on YouTube if you missed something. This class is definitely one that you will find easy. For this course you will need to purchase a license to a website where you will do all your work. Due dates however, aren't very strict when it comes to extra credit assignments and normal homework. Professor provides written notes, lectures, and zoom sessions. Good overall.

Took him in-person during the SUMMER. Attendance was not mandatory, and I only showed up during the first 1 1/2 weeks. During in-person lectures, he goes off topic a lot, but is good at lecturing. The midterm and Final were worth 70% of your grade, and homework was 30%. MyLab Math required; unlimited attempts on HW. Discussion Boards.

I took this class over the summer which wasn't difficult but there is quite a bit of homework. You are able to turn in any late work for full credit. All his lectures are recorded which helps a lot when you aren't able to go to his class.

I took this course based on other student's ratings on here and I was not disappointed. He's very clear and gives adequate amount of time to do the assignments. It can just feel a little much if you leave it to last minute! His lectures are so helpful and you get the grade for the effort you put in. Would definitely recommend him!

Professor Jones was simply amazing in covering every little thing in the homework assignments during lecture! The last time I took this class with a different professor I had to drop it because I had an F due to just not understanding anything. This was by far the best and most understandable math class I've had in my life. Would highly recommend!

This was my first in person college experience after leaving the army so I was a little nervous at first, but Mr Jones was very flexible with his time and had a lot of resources available to us that made me feel like I was taken care of as long as I showed the initiative. Another great class with Jefe! Stats is word problem heavy, but Jefe made the expectations and what to look for clear. His class structure makes attendance optional, which I took advantage of this semester, by watching his recorded lessons.

Professor Jones was a great professor, I had him for a summer Intro to Stats course, and his teaching style was very relaxed, yet very efficient. The vibe of the classroom was always very calm, despite the very fast pace, and he always made sure that everyone came to an understanding of the lecture material.

I took his Summer Intro to Statistics class as my first ever college class and loved it. Attendance was not mandatory, so when I got sick everything I needed was online for me.

I really enjoyed being in class with Professor Jones. Really, you just have to get his sense of humor. In our semester, all of the points came from five unit exams - no quizzes or graded homework. Attendance was entirely optional, and the final was just the fifth unit exam, seven questions split between two two-hour blocks of time on different days

Professor “El Jefe” Jones is an amazing professor. He is completely understanding of life events and willing to work things out with you. He also takes his own time out of his life to tutor on Saturdays. You can find all his lectures online for free. I would not have passed this class otherwise. This professor was amazing in his video lectures. It was A LOT of work because I had to understand how to do the math problems but if you are good at math then this is the class to take. One of the best classes I've took so far!

Just like any other online course be ready to do a lot of reading on the side, but professor Jefe is quick to respond at the given contacts in the syllabus. Other than that the uploaded lectures are clear and easy to follow, with some funny bits sprinkled in to keep your attention.

Took this course online and all I have to say was that it was great! He is exceptionally detailed with his lectures and makes a detailed list of the homework you'll have for the semester. In the beginning, it may seem like a lot but it gets easier, less heavier over time. If there was any professor to choose from, I'd choose him again :)
