Confident but often presents opinions as if they were facts. States things that are completely untrue but because he is so confident students believe him.

Wastes a considerable amount of class time trying to entertain students with stories about beer, drugs, and sex. Useful material, but not an effective method for presentation.

AMAZING! Makes the subject of computers enjoyable for a student. Class is always entertaining, because he tells past stories, experiences and always talks about his boat and beer. Helpful for students - more like a friend. Must complete work to pass class

he's quite an easy teacher. do your work and hand it in, but ask him to check it first so you can get easy full credit. very computer literate. he get off-track,but most of the time it's about his friends and boat and IOWA team. overall, down to earth guy

Very knowledgable about Excel. Wastes class time talking about sex, drugs, and drinking. Will pontificate on a subject he knows little about and pretend he knows what he's saying. Take anything he says with a grain of salts unless it's about computers.

Great guy! Just don't get behind on the tuturials and you'll be fine and if you get them done in lab you'll get a 10 out of 10 every time. Prof. Lange is really understanding and easy going, really likes his job. If you have to take this class do it with him, it's really easy.

This guy is so willing to help you out of class untill you get the work finnished. He makes the class interesting also. The class is easy enough as long as you aren't too lazy.

Loves to joke, repeats stories and jokes. Loves his money, and flaunts it a lot. Overall friendly guy. Lectures don't really matter a whole lot. But he helps when you need it.

He is the best professor. I would recommend to anyone! He knows what he is talking about, gives wonderful advice, and is more than willing to pre-check assignments so that you can get the most points possible. Made lecture interesting and presented material in a clear/concise way.

Waste of time.Doesnt know much about computers, likes to brag, endorse underage drinking, and anybody that knows nothing about computers thinks hes very knowledgeable, and most likely will think hes a genious.Count how many times he pulls out his wallet. Should be teaching a class about life lessons

The class wasn't overly hard or easy. Just do your tutorials and study a little for the tests and you will be fine. He is very helpful if you run into any problems.

Mr. (or Ms.) CS 231 here seems to think Lange doesn't know much about computers? I think 231 here doesn't know his a** from a hole in the ground. Dr. Lange is a genius and is a good role model for anyone who wants to succeed in his or her career. Oh and did I mention he's a fun guy to have in class?

This class has little professor involvement--a good class though, interesting, well thought out projects made available.

David K. is the man. I hope he logs on and reads these, because I told him that he was the man in his evaluation at the end of the semester. Don't take this prof if you hate people who are down to earth, and funny.

I concur with what everyone else has said. Lange is awesome. Granted he grades EXTREMELY slow but otherwise he's good to go. Midterm and final are a little tricky but if you study for even just a few hours you'll ace them and the class!

I wouldn't agree that he's hot but he is an awesome professor. He jokes around in class which keeps the students attention and knows his subject. He does take awhile to grade things and his tests are a little difficult but he grades fair.

Dunno what to think of him. He knows a lot about what he teaches, but he does needlessly intimidate his students as another person said. He also isn't very helpful. Go to him for help, over the semester I've emailed him at least 15 times and he hasn't answered a one of them, I doubt he'll do any different for you. Could find better or worse. meh

great teacher. he gets through the material that he needs to cover, but really makes it a point to teach you stuff you will actually use. go to him, and he will be very willing to help. he is also very knowledgeable about computers, but makes the material understandable to those without high technology IQ's. i highly suggest taking him if you can.

By far my favorite professor. He keeps things interesting, and helps out with everything. He teaches you what is important, and inspires you to learn more on your own. Just make sure you start the work when he says you should, because it definitely takes as long as he says.

Great professor. This class literally teaches you how to use photo shop & design web pages straight out of the book verbatim. Lectures are story based and interesting to listen to. All around fun guy. Take Lange if you can

Lange is a great guy who will give you all the tools you need to be successful. Just do what he asks and you will pass.

Lange is a blast to listen to, never a dull moment. There is online work to be completed weekly, but his expectations of you are clear. Easy A if you do what is asked of you.

Loved having Lange as a professor and I hope I can take another one of his courses. It was easy and if you have any word, excel, or access skills this class will be cake. By far my favorite professor so far. The only drawback was the expensive books.

A very approachable and personable professor. While he may go off track on occasion in lectures, he is always interesting to listen to. Course load is manageable if the proper time and effort is put forth.

Very helpful. The class was simple as long as you can follow step-by-step instructions. One day is in the lab and classroom, one day is just in the classroom. I skipped the classroom part a lot, it was very basic C.S. stuff. Tests are tough and online m. choice and matching. I didn't study much, did all my homework, and got an A-. He's a great guy

Professor Lange has honestly made my experience at Grand Valley so amazing! I love him as a professor, and he understood how busy I was throughout the year when I missed at like 5 assignments that he would open back up for me. Lecture isn't necessary since there is a powerpoint/book, but he makes a lot of connections to the assignments there. HW!!!

Professor Lange is the most entertaining professor i have ever had. Always saying the hilarouis things in class . Not a difficult class if you keep up with the online sam projects. Lectures are pointless to go to besides the lab.

Prof. Lange is super laid back. Gives you study guides for midterm and final. Very easy class although the online homework is time consuming but that is the same for every CIS 150 class. Very funny, and always willing to help! You do a webpage but he walked us tough it. Final was very easy too! Would definitely take another one of his classes.

You could really pass the class if you only showed up for exam days... Everything is online. Nice guy, easy to talk to, sometimes his voice is annoying, but would be worse. Wants everyone to do well, and is willing to work with you.

CIS 150 in general isn't necessarily hard, just lots of tedious work and reading. Grader homework is hard DON'T MISS ANY OF THE QUIZZES, HELP DESKS, HOMEWORKS, ETC. S T U D Y the book, then you really won't have to hear his lectures DON'T MISS LABS Lange gives lots of EC if you attend class Lange also helps you during exams!

Out of all the CIS professors, David K. Lange brings the most energy to the class and has many hilarious stories to share. Should get an A- or better if you participate.

Literally you only need to go to lab. I never went to lecture and got an A. Everything (I mean everything) is online on MyITLab so if you do the online homework you will be totally fine in the class. He will also curve EVERY exam and will give you the answers if you ask for help. 10/10. Other profs make you present your websites but he doesn't.

Super useful class. Lange taught valuable skills and really made an effort to help us get internships. However, he is very hard to get ahold of outside class and he could be a little disorganized. But his lectures are interesting and he's an engaging, funny guy (though he does sometimes go off on tangents). Overall, a fun, easy, and helpful class.

He is one of the funniest prof's I have had at GVSU which makes class ten times more enjoyable to go to. He's also pretty understanding about late work and extends deadlines when he feels needed. He responds back to emails pretty quickly and makes the lectures fun when the content seems boring.

David Lange for CIS 150 is one of the best professors I've had at GV. His class is very simple but you will have to put the time into it. The only down part about this professor is that he is bad at answering emails. If you are trying to get his attention, stay after class to talk to him or set up an appointment with him. Overall, GREAT PROFESSOR!!

Lange by far has been the most enjoyable CIS prof I've had at GVSU. He was a bit hard to get ahold of over email, and there were a few unclear due dates provided to students. But whenever I asked him in person for help, he was extremely thoughtful and helpful. Lectures involved real life examples so they could go off topic, but were very engaging

Professor Lange was awesome. The assignments are a breeze, and most of the time he does one of them with you in the lecture. If you don't understand what to do, then you probably didn't watch his lecture. Overall, would recommend him to anyone looking to take this course.

the class was completely online, and I really enjoyed watching his lectures. He goes over material with the lectures but all of the projects and assignments are on pearson. Not too bad of my class overall. You can tell he genuinely cares for his students well being.

He has been my favorite teacher at Grand Valley so far. His lectures are very straightforward and similar assignments every week are easy if you watch the lectures. His lectures can veer off topic sometimes, but that is what makes him so great. He will talk about his personal life or current events which is always super enjoyable to listen to.

This man is the metal gear rising revengeance equivalent of a professor. An ICON in all senses of the word. This man could keep your leftovers refrigerated because he's just that cool. Man he's so real he doesn't even need a BeReal; he is real. my pronouns in his class is they/them because I'll never be he/him. Take this class

Professor Lange was a fantastic professor. The problem is that he doesn't release the assignments quickly enough and his email is not the best place to contact him by.

Prof. Lange is great. His lectures are always a blast (even if he does get overly political from time to time) and he enjoys interacting with his students, just don't mention you like Busch. Assignments aren't hard, tests are open note. He's just slow to grade and there's not a ton of assignments, but otherwise, highly recommend this guy.

Prof. Lange is a stellar person, truly cares about what students are doing and wants them to succeed. He often stayed after class for over an hour just to chit chat with students about any random topic which speaks to his caring character. Solid dude, class material can be boring at times but he spices it up with stories and makes everyone laugh.

Professor Lange is not for everyone. In a college setting, he can say some out of pocket things. However, he's a very knowledgable guy who tries to make his lectures filled with stories and real world examples. Not a difficult professor and will be taking him again.

Professor Lange keeps things engaging with his real-world examples and stories, though he can sometimes veer off-topic. I found Unstuck ai really helpful for preparing for exams. Overall, a solid professor who cares about his students' success.
