Such a boring class. Nice guy, but so boring. I can't tell you one thing I learned in that class. Insanely hard tests. My advice: don't take geology unless you have to.
Reallllly excited about rocks... tests are impossible but if you ask aroubd people have old tests and he does not change them. DO extra credit..
So nice, but such an awful class. He gives fill in the blank outline for notes-that's nice. Tests are ridiculously hard.
He thinks everyone LOVES rocks. Very painful class, drop it if you can, otherwise, do well in lab, go to class, and do the extra credit.

He is so boring and loves speaking in a monotoned voice that will put you to sleep but you can't because you are writing so much useless crap down. Tests are impossible and confusing...dont take the class with him

VERY hard to understand (really quiet). Would be better if he wasn't so monotoned. Tests are pretty hard but the grading scale is fairly flexable. PS- Gives random/unanounced quizes and sign-ins during lectures. ::DON'T PLAN ON SKIPPING::
He mumbles and always clears his throat in the mircrophone. His notes are basically straight from the book, so dont waste your time taking notes, just highlight the book, and dont waste ur time going to class because his lectures dont help!
very very very easy, gives outlined notes and its not very hard to figure out his test.
remember how easy it was to fall asleep to bob ross talking? its kind of like that.. except i never quite made it all the way asleep between the cramps in my wrist from taking notes on stuff that won't be on the test (which are impossible). yikes.
he is the hardest teacher to understand and i swear you will have writters cramp by the end of each class, all i have to say is good luck with his hard tests!
It is impossible to understand what he is saying because he just mumbles into the microphone. He gives soo many notes that are straight out of the book and tests are nearly impossible!
He is a mumbler. His test will cover some of the smallest details in his notes. So pay attention, write his ungodly amount of notes, and study those notes thoroughly and one should do fine. He has a 15 point grading scale (85-100=A) to even things out.
Taking concepts for an easy science? DON'T GET THIS GUY!! If he finds mistakes on his key he will take points away from you after the test have been graded and given back. Only cares about impossible details! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!
Nice man but its rocks-boring. 15 pt scale helped me get a B lots of extra credit stuff...failed all his test because they were hard. goodluck
This man is the most horribe teacher I've ever had!! Don't take his class for an easy grade because you won't get one- no matter how hard you study! He sucks and is no help to his students at all!
This class is HORRIBLE he is an awful teacher!! He mumbles into the microphone, focuses on the most minute details, and takes points away on test for his mistakes!!
He is a really good guy. He comes to class dressed for an archeological dig or something but he is still very interesting. I really enjoyed the class and made an A pretty easily.
It sucks that he teaches Concepts because it is supposed to be the easiest science at Auburn. I think King is an awesome individual and a really sincere and nice man, but he is just a terrible teacher. I had him for geology too. He makes class tough.
Worst teacher in the world. He is a nice guy, but he pretty much reads the course from the book. He tests you about the most detailed and stupidist concepts of the class.
King is a relatively easy teacher - if you study. I took good notes and read over them a lot before the tests and came out with a B. He's very monotone and boring, but his class is not hard.

not a very fun class but if you are going to take geology get this man! he is probably the easiest out there, you have to go to class because he takes attendance but it only lasts like 20min. he gives extra credit and a 70 in his class is a B!!
It is a hard class, but he is probably the easiest teacher out there. Tons of extra credit, and a 15 pt. grading scale. Make sure to take/read the notes and don't miss class.

DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR GEOLOGY! I'm serious. So hard I went to class and studied and got a 46 on the test, and that was a D! His tests are so hard, unless you cheat, you will fail. Curves the grades and that doesn't help the students.
this guy is great. his sense of humor is so lame but it cracks me up. if you memorize the notes his tests are a breeze! everything on the test is straight out of the notes.
Dr. King is really a great guy you just have to get to know him and he makes these jokes that will really make you laugh~! He gives youthe notes and his tests come straight from them you just have to study~!
geology isn't an easy course. but if you are going to take it, get this guy. 15 point grading scale, extra credit assignments, and he is always available when you need him. this doesn't mean you don't have to put forth initiative, though.
Dr. King is a really nice guy, but an incompetent professor. He mumbles his way through the notes and it takes longer to walk to his class than for him to teach it. Memorize the notes and you should do fine on the exams.
His tests are hard because its so much information and nothing but tests to help your grade. My suggestion is to study everyday from day one just a little bit
Very nice guy, but class is very boring. You have to study a lot to get good grades. Tests are very spread out, so you have a LOT of information to study on just one test. He talks in monotone, so you get bored. And he does random attendance checks. But he's very nice and willing to help anyone.
Had him for SCMH1010, GEOL1100, and GEOL3060 - heres the truth. His tests are hard, but he has a 15point scale. he mumbles and is boring, but gives you a note set to help through the class. VERY HELPFUL. better than other teachers in same courses. made A,B,A in classes. effort counts in his class.
Extremely boring class. No homework. All you have to do is fill in the blanks. Tests are straight out of the notes, but their is a lot of material. 15 point scale is great.
Just gotta study the noted he gives and you'll be fine. 15 point curve!! cant beat that....he is also the nicest guy on the planet
Dr. King is GREAT! Go to class (i.e. he has an attendance policy and adheres to it), do the extra credit, study (i.e. memorize his noteset), and you'll do fine.
great teacher. if you think he's too hard or you're complaining about him making you go to class, you should take this time to realize a science class is not for you. go back to business 101 and stay there.
Dr. King is great. His lectures are on average 30 min long and he types out slide notes for you. All you have to do is fill-in the blank. His test are all multiple choice and he allows 10 points extra on easy assignments. You have to go to class, attendence policy. 15 point scale so an 85 is an A! Great sense of humor and very sweet!
lectures are short. notes are just fill in the blank. however, his tests are very specific, and test you on memorizing minute details instead of understand the material. tests will cover close to 100 pages of notes. it seems like it should be an easy class, but he finds a way to make it hard. you can make a B, though
Very boring class. Doesn't teach material at all and the tests are pretty hard, but he has a good grading scale that will allow you to get a B with minimal studying. Lets out early every day. Don't buy the book.

I thought he was so sweet! the class is easy just go to it, you get out early and have tons of bonus points! have to study for the tests though and i didnt use the book once!

GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. He is completely monotone and it is the most boring class I've ever had. I made all As except in his class to give you an idea of how bad it is. His exams are miserable and you can't do well no matter how hard you study.
If you have to take Geology, try to get another professor. His class is very difficult and takes an insane amount of work. Nice guy, but very hard teacher.
Do not buy the textbook because he has his own fill-in-the-blank notes at all the major bookstores. Notes are easy to take and class is graded on a 15 point scale.
The book is helpful in clarifying his notes.The class is pretty boring.I never paid attention in class I just filled in blanks and studied them later.The test and bonus quizzes are pretty hard though, very detailed and the final was brutal.But i still came out with a B in the end.Take the lab seriously it will really help your grade
Incredibly boring..tests are next to impossible. Uses a 15 point grading scale because he knows his tests are hard. Study a lot if you want to make a low B in his class.
A really nice man, although can be sarcastic. If you sit close enough in lecture you will laugh a lot from the things he mumbles under his breath. Otherwise the lecture will bore you to tears. Take excellent notes(which he gives you word for word) and memorize the notes and you will have no problems. You will have to study, not a crap class.
easy, i got an A. dont buy text book, just get the fill in the blanks notebook he sells in all the stores. all this class does is make you memorize science stuff, its really not hard. no HW execpt a little for lab
OK. i NEVER go to class except for test days.His notes are bought in the bookstore & u fill in blanks in class.I just get them from the people that actually go & study for 6 hrs before the test.Sit down & REALLY study/discuss the chapters & tests are easy.The lab is a JOKE!
Don't bother buying the book. he uses his own notes and all ?'s come from that. I was expecting this class to be easy and it is if you want a C and even pretty easy if you want a B but do not take if you want an A because some of the questions he asks on the tests are just impossibe. the lab is a joke and keeps people's averages up.

What a terrible class! You can barely understand a word he says. It is all about memorization. DONT BUY THE BOOK! I didn't open it once. You probably won't learn a single thing about science, but if you get the notes and memorize them you can easily get an A or B. Go to the lab! It is a grade booster!!
Dr King is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life!! The class is rediculous... i would always leave mad. You can't understand a word he says unless you sit on the front row, and his lectures are him reading a slide show. DO NOT TAKE HIM. The lab is a joke, but attendance is mandatory. i never attended class, never used the book, never studied and got a B in the class. he mumbles and just reads over what you already have. the lab was fun but i hated lecture.
He is the cutest old man and he is so sweet! His tests do cover alot of material, but they are really not that bad and he scales the grades. His notes are already typed out for you. All you do is fill them in. The best part is that he lets you out early. His class never goes over 35 minutes
The Good: ALWAYS lets out of class early, tests follow notebook precisely, doesn't use textbook, grading scale helps. The Bad: Good Lord he's BORING!!! You can't hear him unless you sit close, tests will cover 70-100 pages of notes, he doesn't take attendence which makes it impossible to make yourself go. I would strongly recommend avoiding him.
For Concepts- Never takes attendance. No pop quizzes. Notes only. Do not buy the textbook! Talks softly and just reads notes but will help you if you ever ask for it. Tests are harder than expected so study for about a week prior. Easy class unless you make it hard. Two tests and a non cumulative exam.
Dr. King can be boring during class, but he always lets out early. His tests are harder than you would expect, so I would start studying AT LEAST a week prior. He will take unannounced roll and give random quizzes for bonus points. He has a 15 pt grade scale where 85-100 is an A and 70-85 is a B, but do not take this lightly.
Don't buy the book, you won't use it at all. Go to class for the pop tests and attendance checks. MEMORIZE every part of your notes and youll do fine. his grading scale helps a lot and lab grade will save your final class grade. he is boring but a very nice man. memorize memorize memorize!

The class is completely do-able, it just takes a lot of memorizing, Study for tests a little at a time and know everything from the notes.

The textbook is useless, but you NEED the notebook. The class part is super easy and really boring, but the tests are really really hard. You literally need to know all of the information on over five chapters for each test.

most boring class ever. you sit and listen to him ramble, not even worth going to the class but you need the notes. very hard tests if you don't memorize the 100+ pages of notes the test covers. a passable class because of the 15 point grading scale, but do not go in thinking its easy
He's not a mean guy and his notes are crystal clear. You buy a "book" that is just his notes with fill in the blank spaces. Study this, you'll be fine. The only problem is there is so much material on each exam, it feels like an overload. Made a C, if I studied more I would have made an A. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! YOU WILL NEVER USE IT. NEVER.
Extremely BORING class. He seems to be a nice guy but he lacks the "UMPH" to get the class interested. He has a book he made for yall to fill out and that is what the tests are based off of. Offers extra credit TAKE HIM UP ON IT because you will definitely need it because the tests are ridiculously difficult
DO NOT BUY A BOOK. This is the worst college class I have taken yet. He is SO boring and just reads word for word. Tests are retty difficult and doesn't do any "extra credit" to help your grade. 2 exams and a final. That's it. Good Luck!
He's not as hard as everyone says he is. I took him over the summer and we didn't get to two of the chapters. His tests are straight from the notes and his grading scale is very fair. In the summer we had a 15 point scale (A 100-85, B 84-70 etc) with the lab counting towards 25% of your in class grade.
If you stay awake in this class- you can die knowing that you accomplished something that no one else could in life.
Basically, all you need to do is to memorize average 90-100 pages materials without pre-examples handing for the exams. Rush in summer is really NOT a good idea. The only thing I pretty sure is you won't have fun but pressure for the class. No curve or round grade.
For the love of God DO NOT take this class. Worst decision I have ever made. He is an awesome guy but the class is in a warm classroom and Dr. King talks so softly it's like you're suppose to fall asleep. You have 2 tests and a final (which is memorizing about 100-150 pages). Just save yourselves.
I died. His tests are so hard. Only 3 of them, and they cover about 5-6 chapters with 30+ pages of notes per chapter. 60-70 question tests with VERY specific answers. Over 100 questions on the final, which was a nightmare. Should have been a relatively easy class, but some people just want to watch the world burn. Barely making a B, and I WORKED.
Taking Dr. King for SUST is different because it's not JUST him creating the tests or JUST him in charge of the class. It's a whole slew of profs. Don't take this class thinking it's an easy A. The exams are multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, AND 2 essays all in one! He's very soft spoken, so you've got to be silent to hear him talk
Tho he can be boring and gives lots of homework, he is clear with his materials. We have two homework for each chapter, but if you read lecture materials and the textbook, they are really easy to get A's. We only have one final, which seems impossible, but he posted all the questions that would be on the test. you just have to study hard at the end
Dear Science Ed Students, take Dr. King for Alabama Dinosaurs. This class was AWESOME! There were no test and several of field trips. Your grades come from the modules, project, and lab which was very easy. Science Ed do a course sub for this class you will not regret it. Easy A. Take this class over Mineralogy and Geomorphology.
This was the worst class I have taken at Auburn. Each test covers about 300+ slides of notes. The test questions are extremely specific. Save yourself and take another teacher!
Dr. King is a very nice person but his class is super boring. The test can be hard and there is a lot of homework.
There are only two exams the entire semester, and if you answer the weekly thought questions and study them you will do fine. Dr. King is helpful and kind and his lectures are long but interesting. There is ample time in class to get the assignments done, so it is rare to have homework.
Best teacher you can ever meet in Auburn! However, it is pity that he gonna retire this year. I'll remember him for a life long cuz he is the best instructor ever
HE IS THE BEST EVER!! All the exam answer is on the PowerPoint or textbook and he will post the question and answer for the exam all you need to do is memorize it! I turned my assignments late he still gave my full credits for that!
Fairly balanced class online. You get what you put in essentially. Unit projects/questions are very similar to test material.
Dr King is a great professor and his class is very easy. He assigns the questions you will be tested on and you will submit your answers and he will tell you if its right or wrong so you can fix it before the test. The labs were ok, not terrible. You take daily quizzes and complete unit projects in this class. Overall not bad for a science credit
Take this class. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. 1 3-4 question in class assignment every class, and 1-2 assignments per week (all on quizlet). just a midterm and final test, except the tests are a combination of questions you've already answered in previous assignments so you know what's on it. Once again, TAKE THIS CLASS FOR AN EASY A
king was extremely easy. he does take attendance but that only matters if you want your grade rounded at the end of the course. the labs SUCK but the lectures themselves are very easy and the tests are just repeated assignment questions. you almost have to try to fail this class. minimal effort will get you an A

Dr. King is great. Tests come straight from assignment questions that he has given feedback on your answers. Does not take much effort to do good. Lectures are interesting. Takes attendance but it does not affect your grade very much and he is understanding if you need to miss.
I really enjoyed having Dr. King, class was considerably easy. Very accessible outside of class and very understanding about missing assignments. His lectures are interesting if you go to them, but there are a good bit of assignments. If you do the work you'll be perfectly fine.
I definitely recommend taking this class if you need to finish science credits. I barely attended the lectures and had a high A in the class all semester. There are a few assignments a week, but they're not hard, and he grades them easily. There are only two exams, both online, and the questions come from the homework.
Professor King's class is an easy A if you put in the work. Assignments and tests are based on lecture materials, and Unstuck ai can be a helpful study tool. Attendance matters but is manageable. Overall, a solid science credit.
