I loved this class! I highly recommend taking Kiracofe. He's very clear and very fair. He'll actually make you enjoy history -- not just a bunch of dates!!

I hated History, but Dr Kiracofe made it interesting. His tests are easy enough, if you come to class. I was glad I came because what he writes on the board is what is on the test. He is pretty laid back and will make sure you learn and cares about your progress in the class. Cool guy.

I loved his class. He made it easy to follow thru his lectures. As long you went to the class and took notes, the test seemed easy. He told some jokes to help easy the idea your learning history. I recommend his classes.

good man very understanding just attend class you may not think he's counting but he is the grade is the only thing that's effective he only gives you a mid-term, final, and a paper the ease even if not interested in history he does try to make it fun that's more then I can saw for other teachers

This instructor was great. Before taking his class I hated History. He made it fun and interesting. He does talk alot but all you have to do is listen and take notes and you'll pass his class with ease. You'll take 3 test and have to write a paper. I highly recommend him.

Very fun and interesting. Great personality,laid back, loves what he does and very willing to help. The time goes by very quick and sometimes let out early. Tests are hard if you didnt listen and take notes. But if you participate, (which you will want to!) you will do great. He's my favorite professor ever!

I've never learned so much about history in one semester. He's a character that you'll be hard pressed to forget. I don't think the work is easy but he makes the information stick.

He is great! Dry sense of humor that fits his demenor perfectly. He makes history so interesting with his stories. I always look forward to his class. His test require you to pay attention, do your assigned reading, and TRY!! Never leave anything blank and you will do fine. He makes passing history easy as long as you do the required work and TRY!!

He's awesome. He'll make you actually enjoy history. His tests are all short answer, so if you go to class and take notes on his stories, you'll get an A. Don't leave anything blank. His voice is so goofy, and he's very clear in his teachings. Take him if you can, he's awesome.

I have taken more then one class with Professor Kiracofe, and he is a wonderful teacher. I find that many people take more then one course with him....which most definitely speaks for itself right there! I highly recommend him. I love history...and find his classes are interesting. I think he has a very enojoyable personality and way of teaching.

At the Chesapeake Campus you'll always hear how great Kiracofe is. He lectures alot but its interestingly spiced with his dry humor and sarcasm, you will learn alot.

Okay, Dr. Kiracofe is amazing. He lectures alot but hes extrmemely interesting and ya know, cracks jokes and makes it fun. If you dont like lecture... take him anyway, you will after his class. I turned a paper in a month late and he didnt take off for it. He always says "I will never not accept work from a students". HE KNOWS EVERYTHING.

Loads of fun. Never cracked the books and pulled an A+. He is the very best at TCC and an A just for being there.

Dr. Kiracofe's classes are about as laid back as any college course could possibly be. He will captivate you with his hilarious stories, great sense of humor, and vast knowledge of US/Western history. Even if you despise history, you will walk out of this class with a good grade and a better understanding of the world around you.

I have never ever had any interest in history until i took Kiracofe's class. He lectures on and on, but he makes it fun by throwing in funny little stories and his dry sense of humor. Tests are all essay questions basically, but besides that I would def take another class from him!

The best teacher ever!!! very fun to learn from. he knows the material soo well. he gives you the whole semester to finish all your work. and if you dnt do so well on it, your able to re-do the papers. but with the test you have to know ALL the material he went over in class.

I took both HIST 121 and HIST 122 Fall semester. His classes are rather easy. If you want an A, attend class. You won't have to study hard if you have good attendance. He's rather entertaining in his lectures-not much discussion. I got A+ on every test because of thorough note-taking. You'll enjoy the class and I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Kiracofe is a highly inteligent and competent professor. He is an outstanding professor, and I have already enrolled in 2 more classes of his.

If you take GOOD notes, and STUDY them you will pass this class with flying colors. His tests come directly from his notes the book can be used if you miss his lectures. He is also a awesome professor. He made History interesting & exciting to me, for the first time ever! I wish more professors had the gift to teach their students this way.

I took him for HIS121 and HIS122. he is a very smart man and an excellent professor. He knows so much about history, and lectures in a way that is interesting. His voice takes a little getting used to in the beginning. Listen for the word "people" when he speaks :)

Dr. K is an interesting person. If you listen and pay attention to his lectures you should almost always do well on the tests. He has a good sense of humor and incorporates funny stories into his lectures to make them more enjoyable.

Fabulous teacher! Attend classes and take good detailed notes, study them and you will get an A easily! He knows so much and gives you the desire to know more about history! Great teacher.

Professor Kiracofe was a good teacher and made jokes every now and again keeping my attention. The tests were essays with a few true/false so as long as you take really good notes, you should be fine. I would recommend him!

At first I thought it would be boring but he kept us laughing and had a "warm up " question everyday that kept it interesting! I would definitely recommend him any time!

I hated History before this class but he really makes you love it....He has a great lecture but the tests our a lot of chapters put into one test but gives great reviews and if you pay attention in class you will do great! There are 3-4 test and one paper 5-7 pages for the entire class!!

Dr. K is Awesome! The lectures can get long but he makes jokes that even make him laugh. Dry humor like ben Stein and weird. 2 tests, homework and a paper. Alot of notes but if you take notes and read then you should pass with a good grade. If you like history, he knows everything about it! If you don't he will get you interested!

Dr. Kiracofe is an awesome teacher! There are only 3 tests and 1 topical paper. Just make sure you show up to class and take really good notes! His tests are mostly short answer to see if you really understand the material. If you're looking for a history professor, TAKE HIM!

He likes to tell lots of jokes during his lectures, which are pretty dorky, but deserve a laugh. If you take good notes and pay attention in class it should be easy. He gives short answer tests that he grades pretty lightly and a paper of your choice. He's a nice guy and willing to work with his students. I would take him again.

I don't think I ever learned as much in a class, but then I never had a professor who knew as much as Dr. K. The man knows everything! Do yourself a favor and take him. The best prof I've had at TCC

Kiracofe is a great professor. He can answer any question you ask about anything in history. I think in our class out of the hundreds of questions we asked, he said he didn't know 2. He also has a very good type of dry humor.

David has got to be my all time favorite professor! he can answer any question about anything! he makes you want to come to class! absolutely the best professor i have ever met! highly recommend him to any and everyone!

His lectures are very lively and entertaining. He will make you a history lover. Class was basically him telling stories as you take notes. Only 3 HW's. One 4 pg paper regarding a book of choice you have 4 months to do(not a book report very easy. Tests are easy. As long as your write ANY thing down regarding the subject. He wants you to succeed.

He is so passionate about life and the subject of history. Everyday I was wanting more of him and his great stories.

He is a really great teacher. Yes his lectures will be long if you don't like history but he makes it interesting. I have had 1 quiz, 2 tests and only 1 paper. He is easygoing and he likes to get the students interested in history. Would recommend.

Mr Kiracofe is the kind of teacher every student needs. He is so funny and nice & so passionate about his subject! He is very understanding so he doesn't give enormous amounts of work (or any work at all) just a paper and 3 tests & for his tests he gives a study guide. He is such a lenient grader as well. As long as you put something you get points

One of the best professors I've ever in countered. Very Knowledgeable and passionate in what he does. I'm a history buff, but even if I wasn't still a fulfilling class to be a apart of. If you where to receive anything less than a B in has you have no one else to blame but yourself.

History buffs, must have professor for all of his subjects. For those who aren't into history I challenge you to take any of his history classes , because I can almost guarantee you'll have a new found respect for history at the very least after taking his class. I can't see anyone who has the mental capacity to attend college make less than a B

This man's got a presence on him; at first we'd all thought "could this guy get any quirkier?", but as it turns out he was ten times more cool than all of us combined. The doctor knows history on a grand scale; I've never learned so much so fluidly. The lectures are from the very start to very finish of class, but believe it or don't, engaging.

Kiracofe is by far the best history teacher at TCC. I took Western Civ. with him and liked him so much that I'm going to take part two with him next semester. He is very knowledgeable in history and draws you into the lecture. The funniest thing is, he went around on the first day and shook every students' hand introducing himself. Great teacher

I enjoyed this class a lot and would recommend it to anyone taking U.S. History. He loves the material he's teaching which makes it a lot easier to pay attention and understand. Very understanding about making up grades and about schedules outside of class.

My favorite History teacher of all time. He kind of looks like Abe Lincoln. He really knows his stuff. Class is very much show up and listen to the lecture. Its like story time. You can feel his passion for history, and check out his US Civil War Class. I know many other students that have taken him at different times and would agree.

I've never had a more effective professor! Grades hinge on 3 tests and a paper, but if you attend lectures and read (the only homework you have), you'll do well. He goes beyond just memorizing terms/dates and really brings history to life with his lectures. Highly intellectual, respectful, humorous and down to earth instructor. Highly recommended.

I took him for us history I & it was everything you could want in a class. It was extremely interesting, he teaches as if it's happening right in front of you. hardly any work and few tests. Txtbook helped a lot but it's not needed at all. I missed quite a lot of days in that class so I THINK attendance doesn't matter too much if u can keep up.

Dr. Kiracofe is an amazing professor that is very passionate about his subjects. Sometimes he gets so focused on a topic that he may not get to everything he wants to cover in one day. Using the textbook and taking great notes is going to be your best friend. He is always very well dressed so that benefits in keeping your attention on him.

Tests are very simples. lectures are very interesting, he makes history fun to learn. Very well educated, clear that he knows his stuff. Final grade was based on 5 assignments for the whole semester. No final exam

At first, i was skeptical about this class because I felt lost and panicked as I was about to take the first test. I ended up getting a 94 on it though, and then I realized all you hav to do is listen to his lectures. He's really nice, makes jokes, and his class was pretty enjoyable. He tells history more like a story rather than "x,y,z" happened

He knows quite a bit about what he's talking about, and because of that I think that he forgets what he's gone over and what he hasn't during lectures. There are some questions on test that were not in the books and he did NOT go over during class lectures, but I'm sure he meant to. Attendance doesn't matter, but lectures aren't over the books.

Professor Kiracofe is by far the most amazing professor I've ever had. He really knows what he's talking about, he makes history a fun subject to learn, and he is extremely willing to make accommodations if you just tell him your situation. I was scared at first because there was so much to absorb but I made it through with his help.

Excellent professor, Class is tough but he makes it so there is plenty of extra credit and easily will make your grade an A! Professor cares for the content and for his students greatly.

This is my favorite teacher by far! Kiracofe is lecture heavy, but he makes whats most important very clear and will write out some things on the board. He answers questions in the middle, just raise your hand. Hes open to discussions and uses slide shows. If you miss class, the slideshows are on canvas with detailed notes. Easy to pass.

Probably the best History professor of all TCC at least. Never hesitate to ask him a question. Very understanding of any problem you may have. His ability to keep the majority interested despite not everyone having a liking to history is special. It is how history should be taught. He loves it and it shows in his lectures.

Mr. Kiracofe is the best history teacher I have met. He makes history come alive even if you don't like the subject and makes lectures enjoyable. There are no tests or quizzes except for the Mid-Term, making the class easy to pass. Just don't buy the textbook, he never uses it.

Kiracofe's class was super easy. The tests were easy as well, he's very leaneate with grading. Only 1 paper, 2 tests and I believe 1 quiz. Everything else is just listening and taking notes. He's helpful and approachable.

I've had 3 courses with Professor Kiracofe, he's the best choice for history classes PERIOD. He's friendly, approachable, has a great sense of humor, and is definitely one of the most understanding professors on the Chesapeake campus. He understands people have lives outside of school, and is VERY accomodating if you experience difficulties. 10/10

Mr. Kiracofe is a pretty chill teacher, he doesn't require much there is only a few tests during the semester and you only have to write one paper . I took him twice because he makes the class so easy to pass.

EASIEST A EVER. Show up and pay attention and youll be perfectly fine. His lectures are pretty interesting and hes hilarious. Quizzes are super basic. Tests are short answer but get the basics and youre fine. One big project that is fairly time consuming but nothing too hard. Give him a hug for me.

He has a very monotone voice so paying attention while at home was hard. Since history is my least favorite subject, I would just use the PowerPoints to study for the quizzes and tests.

Amazing! Kinda monotoned voice, but test/quizzes cover what he says in lecture. Literally all you need to do is listen. I will be taking him again for another history. Always gives great feedback as well.

Amazing professor! As long as you're willing to sit through incredibly boring lectures then it should be the easiest A of your life. He only has 2 tests throughout the semester and he even dropped the essay for my class. I'm also certain he marks some answers correct as long as you write something down. He prefers completion over correct.

I took him for 111 and 112 and he has easily become one of my favorite professors. You really do not do anything besides listen; plus he prints out all the notes for you, so if you just skim them before one of the few test you'll be solid. He keeps history interesting and exciting.

I really enjoyed his class, he was very funny and the lectures were fun and entertaining while covering the necessary content. There were lots of fun class discussions, attendance was mandatory, and the grades were based off of a few tests and a few papers.

Professor Kiracofe makes history engaging. Tests are straightforward, and he's accommodating. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for study prep - highly recommend it alongside the textbook.
