he's a pretty cool old guy if you get to know him. he's taught in some distant countries. 101 is a tough class but he will really help you out if you seek it. watch out for his wife, maybe the worst teacher at OU

The material is hard, but he is the BEST ACCT. teacher. He will do anything to help, you just need to show you are willing to do the work. Get to know him and it certainly helps! Be prepared to work your butt off, but also learn alot. He's very helpful and what you learn helps a lot later on! Stay away from MRS. KIRCH!

He was a good teacher. Don't get scared out of the class there are a lot of resources available to help you out. He goes over a lot in class so it's really hard to miss.

He was really great! EXTREMELY HARD, but will teach you everything you need to know about accounting 101. If you're taking it because you actually want to learn, take him. But if you're taking it just to fulfill a requirement take someone else! He is very professional and cares alot about his students.

Go to class and do the homework! He wants you to do good, classes help out a lot! Don't be scared bc he is intimidating.. but he just wants your respect!

Kirch is a great teacher. He taught a lot and is very open to questions and very helpful. I would definatly take it with him over any of the other ones.

The class in general is hard. There is a lot of homework and classwork. Fortunately, Kirch is a good Prof who wants you to succeed and will help you to reach your goals as long as you are willing to work for them as well. Go to his office hours if you need help. He will clear up any problems that you have there!

AH I loved Dr. Kirch! I'm so glad that I had him for Acct 101..everyone said to take Freeland but Dr.Kirch was so much fun! He has great stories and really knows what he's talking about! The outside class work is crazy prepare for hours of homework but it pays off! I recommend taking it with a friend too just in case you get stuck! Choose him!

Dr. Kirch is one of favorite professors here at OU. He is very dedicated to his students by giving out his phone number where you can reach him any time. The class is very hard, though. Most of the learning you do is through your homework (& and there is lots of it!). He expects you to want to learn, so if you don't give 100%, neither will he.

He was amazing. Hes a funny guy. He does come off as intimidating at first but he is really nice. The work isn't too hard you just have to do the homework. It's time consuming but that is it. If you put in the effort and take the time to do the work you will get a good grade in the class

Dr. Kirch is an awesome professor. He teaches everything very clear. There is a lot of homework, but as long as you know what you are doing on the homework, you should ace the exams. I found SI sessions to be very helpful for this class. The SI instructor goes over homework and gives the right answers every time.

Hands down, the best professor I've ever had. He knows how to keep the subject from getting boring, he's clear with presenting the info, he has a lot of experience and it seemed to me that he really cares about the "hard working" students.

Accounting 101 is a hard class. Professor Kirch tries to keep his students interested and he will explain anything that you need him to. There are two exams and a final. Weekly homework takes awhile to do, but if you do it, it will help you a lot on the tests. Review the practice exams online because some of the same questions will be on the exam

Dr. Kirch is by far one of the best teachers at OU. People just don't like him because he expects his students to actually work hard. So, if you can do that, you'll understand why he an by far one of the best professors at our school. And he's incredibly funny as the quarter gets underway and he realizes he has a good audience to crack jokes to.

The best professor on OU's campus. He wants you to do well and is willing to help. The class is naturally hard with any professor, but he is the one who makes the test so being in his class seems to benefit in that aspect.

Most failed course at OU but he does his best to have you understand the material. I suggest him over ever other prof. you can get for 101

By far the best professor at Ohio University. He is very strict and not an easy grader but is very interested in helping students. I have never learned so much from a teacher like I have with Dr. Kirch .

DR. KIRCH IS THE BEST!! Hands down the best professor I have had in my 3 years. He is extremely helpful and wants all of his students to work hard and do well. He is not only extremely knowledgeable of accounting, but he also gave us great life/work tips. His classes are always entertaining, and I wish I could have him again!

This was the best class I have ever taken. Fascinating class that helped me develop an interest in accounting. Kirch was a tough professor, but a great one. Cared for the students and was very experienced with the subject.

He is a tough at first and comes off very strict but after about the 3rd week of class he eases up. Gives professional tips and is there to help. He takes the best 10 out of 15 HW assignments as part of your grade so if you do those it helps your total if you slip up. All you have to do is practice the problems and you will have no problem passing!

Dr. Kirch was rough at first. I almost dropped the class the first week and I'm so happy I didn't. I definitely recommend going to his office hours, and the SI's that are scheduled. He assigns you a problem to do in class and says "go to work" and expects you to figure it out, which can be tricky if you are clueless. Would definitely recommend!

His lectures are neat, and he is actually a pretty funny guy. He also gives you professional tips. For an old-school professor, he cares for his students.

If you need accounting 1010 take his class. He is tough but fair, put in work and you will do very well. Works well with students, gives his personal phone to call for help with material. I love Dr. Kirch, he is hilarious and shows a passion for wanting his students to actually understand the information. I would take him again if I had to repeat the class. He can be a little harsh when you ask a question, but that is just part of his personality. If you have the chance to take him, do it.

Here's the thing, Kirch is an awesome dude and he clearly cares a lot about his students and wants them to do well. That being said, Kirch is not a very good teacher. His method for teaching you relies on showing you one example and then expecting you to do it for the rest of the examples no problem. Great guy, great class, bad professor.

Accounting is not an easy subject to grasp starting out, but professor Kirch does a great job explaining and working with students who ask for help. He provides every student with his phone number to call him if they have questions while doing the homework. He cares so much he came out of retirement to volunteer to teach freshman. A saint.

He's a real stickler when it comes to classroom procedures and assignments, but if you put in the work and respect him you'll begin to realize what a great teacher and person he is.
