Really enjoyed this class this semester. Was my favorite calss at ggc thus far. Nice teacher, has power points and the work is easy.

Taking David was a good choice he's a great teacher, and he's very cool and nice. You should really take his class, I'm pretty sure you will pass.

He's a great professor! I definitely would take him for any of his other classes if I needed them for my major (even though he is currently part time). He makes class interesting and lectures are more like class discussons so the 50 minutes usually goes by fast and isn't boring. I would definitely recommend him!!!!!!

Dr Kirschner was the best class I have taken at ggc! He's passionate about sociology and every class is super interesting. Come to class and do all his assignments, you'll get an "A". The "student interest topics" were amazing. He lets you vote on whatever you want to learn about (literrally anything) and devotes a class to it. We did sex & tattoos

Great professor. Talks about his experiences as a student a lot so he teaches you things outside of Sociology too. Would definitely take him again if I had to. His essays are straightforward and so are his projects. Make sure you attend (you wont regret it anyway) or else you might miss out on some projects.

There was no test only a final exam. The lectures are actually interesting and so are the special assignments.

Kirschner is literally one of the best professors I've ever had! He is witty, passionate & incorporates so many different elements into his lectures that will get the whole class participating. Another thing is that he is super laid back; when he actually has is name tag on & dresses professionally he's probably getting evaluated. Love this guy!

David is THE man. He is so easy to work with and understands that students have other classes and activities outside of school. He makes sure we discuss topics of interest to students. His lectures never put me to sleep. Grade is based on just 5 quizes, 3 short papers (not a tough grader), 3 special assignment class discussions, and a final. EASY!!

One of the best professors I have ever had. Very clear and smart. He has a great sense of humor and really knows how to relate to his students. Would take him again in a heartbeat.

All the things discussed were more than interesting. During the semester we had two student interest topics that the class voted on (music and food). The quizzes seem pretty easy but he dropped our two lowest. He's also pretty funny and entertaining. If you also like video games you'll get along pretty with with him. There's also a sociology club.

I was having trouble decided whether to choose between psychology and sociology. Taking this class definitely made me appreciate my decision even more.

He is such a nice teacher, nice sense of humor always keeps us laughing. He is easy to get along with and responds back to emails fairly fast. He is an easy A, as long as you pay attention in lectures, and participate in his activities, who wouldn't want to participate its a lot of fun. He gives about 6 easy quizzes online. Finally u take a exam.

Awesome teacher, everyone loves his class and always looks forward to going. He makes every lesson and activity fun and enjoyable, to the point where you're disappointed when you look at the clock and it's almost time to go.

Don't plan on taking him... because chances are you wont be able to get a spot in one of his classes. He's THAT good, and word is starting to get around. He is kind, helpful, and funny, SUPER smart (but never makes you feel dumb) and crazy passionate about sociology. Learned a lot and looked forward to every class. GGC is lucky to have him!

A great teacher, there really is no way you can not pass this class. There is like 3 test tops and they are easy because he gives you study guides. You learn in the class but also have fun. It's the best of both worlds and he is super nice and friendly so you won't hate coming to class.

Mr. Kirschner is a great teacher especially when it was his first time teaching the course. There are two group projects, a written or power point presentation final (You choose what you want) and Blog post that you must do and two quizzes done online over the reading done at your own time. Overall the course was easy. He is also understanding.

Dr. Kirschner is such a sweet and caring teacher. He puts alot of work in to his powerpoints he makes activities to keep us interested and helps us learn. His midterm was challenging but its only 10% so its no big deal. Take him you will not regret it

Dr. Kirschner is amazing. I was a die hard Psychology person, but he converted me. He ran his class in a way that we were able to have insightful conversations about difficult topics. He treated us like adults and we, in turn, acted like adults. I loved everything about his class, and can't wait to take more with him

This was my second time taking his class. The previous semester i took his 1001 basic class. He's very engaging, great instructor, encourages student input, also very funny. He gave us the option to have a mid term and final or One big paper/ presentation. Will extend deadlines for online work. Doesn't give busy work.

Dr. Kirschner is one of my favorite professors so far at GGC. I decided to take his class at the last minute and whew, I'm sure glad that I did. There are also a few extra readings you will have do that are kinda long but interesting. 2 test, a few quizzes, drops the 2 lowest quizzes. Take him, he's awesome!

I took Dr. Kirchner for two different sociology classes and he is an amazing professor. He really explains the material well and helps you critically think and engage in class. Let's you have discussions in and allow students to debate and deliberate different social issues. Would love to take another class with him!

Dr. Kirschner is a great person and it reflects in his teaching. He always connects class to real life. I took his class during the summer, but it wasn't bad at all. Not overwhelming, but a fair amount of work. Show up everyday and you will do well, he makes the material so easy to understand that his lectures are key.

Professor Kirschner is literally my favorite teacher ever. I took his class randomly because I needed the credit, and I am so glad I did. His class is really inspiring and opens up your mind to a lot of different views. He treats his students with respect, so he gets a lot of respect back. Interesting lectures and activities. 10/10

The best prof ive had since being at GGC. He truly cares about his students, is passionate about teaching, and applies the concepts to real life situations. I wish I would have taken this class during a longer semester so we could have gone more in depth. I would recommend him to anyone! He is also head of the Sociology club if you're interested!

He is a good professor, very easy class. Skipped a lot because he doesn't grade attendance but be sure to be there on days when he grades a lecture. No tests but a midterm,I failed only because all he does is read from PowerPoints and the questions on the midterm and final are complicated to understand. I do recommend him though, great prof !

I would highly recommend this professor. This was my last semester and I had a full load. He was willing to work with me and the class when we were overwhelmed. He truly cares about his students and the class.

Dr. Kirschner is an amazing teacher! We had a lot of interesting discussions in this class. We had 2 online quizzes, 2 student interest topic papers( like a paragraph long), and 2 other papers, play sociopoly( a modified version of monopoly, so fun!), a cultural event presentation(you have to go to 2 cultural events), midterm exam and final exam.

The class was really straight-forward. Attendance was optional. 2 small presentations. All books can be found online. You don't have to read the entire book, just read the chapter that assigned for your presentation. The teacher is good, positive, and care for his student.

He's a great professor and will work with you to achieve greatness.

The assignments are moderately difficult and they are given to you when he is ready to give them. The major ones are on D2L ahead of time but a lot are not.

Dr. K is young, very nice, and respectful. I took his class summer 17, and he made the class so easy. He allowed me to make up assignments, and he understood it was summer, so he made the class lots of fun. I enjoyed all his assignments, one of which was a cultural event. I highly recommend his class to anyone taking Soc1101 at GGC.

Great professor! I took him for a 6:30-9 class he does lectures but there are entertaining. He also gets the whole class involved with games and lesson openers. You should take him! Long as you turn everything in and follow the grading criteria you will make a 100%!!!! Its that easy. Realllly EASY A! Just go to class and do the homework. No test!

Final can be done with a partner & use of a flashcard!

Super awesome teacher! Textbook is needed for reference. Straight forward directions for projects. Very open minded and not monotone at all. Laughing is guaranteed in every class. You'll have to read the specific passages in order to pass the quizzes but they are not hard at all. If you ask for help or feedback he is really good with that. 10/10 :)

Taking sociology with Dr. K has pretty much changed my life. Before the class I didn't even know what sociology was.. Dr. K made me fall in love with it. Definitely take him if you can. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is part of your overall grade. You only need the book for one assignment, which you have a choice between, so it isn't technically necessary. Lectures are interesting, and Kirschner is very helpful with any questions and replies to emails quickly. Overall really easy class.

I would say his class is not difficult and there is no way you could fail unless you do not attend class or do the assignments that are given, which are not difficult at all. First semester of freshman year was great, and he is one of the reasons why! Such a kind person, and really has a passion for teaching. Very laid back and is so nice, you almost feel guilty for not working as hard as you can lol! Loved this class, and if I need to take another socio. class in the future, I will definitely choose him again!

Our 'lens' for his class was gaming, and as such our readings, assignments, and projects fell into that category. His lectures are a legitimate treat, and he not only knows his material well, he also knows how to tie it into gaming. The class was enjoyable throughout the entire semester, and never felt overbearing on my schedule. Highly recommend.

His writing assignments are really based on your thoughts and opinions, so they arent very hard and there usually isnt a wrong answer. This course (Death, Grief, & Dying) was very challenging in terms of subject matter/personal reflections and having a kind, thoughtful guide/safe space was essential. The feedback was validating and thought-provoking. We were more like disciples self-exploring life and death topics from a caring guru, than students taking a boring college course.

I actually really enjoyed Dr. Kirschner. He's really nice and gives you really good feedback on your assignments. My advice is to utilize the feedback he gives you on your assignments and you should see improvements in your writing. He's easy to contact and has no problem setting up meetings. THIS CLASS REQUIRES EFFORT. Would def take again!

Taken multiple classes w/him. He is a great professor/overall human. Reading is not too heavy, quizzes are not too bad. Group projects. Get ready to write. It is hard to leave a rating for such a great and well-liked professor, so I put off leaving a rating for half a year. I loved taking his soci1101 class and whenever I meet people who still need a social science credit I always recommend they take his class. You'd have a hard time finding an easier more engaging class with an amazing professor.

This teacher cares so much. You can tell by how he responds and engages with your work. I just started college and I have a different teacher who is horrible so the contrast in his teaching compared to my other teacher is insane. You must appreciate this man when you have him because it's rare for a teacher to care. I am glad to have had him.

I had a great experience taking this course; he is a fun professor! The workload is manageable. There are weekly quizzes, three assignments throughout, and no tests or midterm, just a final exam. Honestly, you would be missing out if you didn't take his course for sociology.

Genuinely the best sociology professor there is! He brought a lot of life to an 8am class with his humor. He is very open-minded and he attentively listens to your concerns and opinions. Literally the best professor in the world. He cares about his students and their success here in GGC. He is very understanding and communicative. Quizzes once a week but they were not hard at all. Ended the class with a 95 so it was pretty easy. I've learned a lot in this and I can definitely use this knowledge for my future. Great Professor!
