I love Professor Knight. He's young, intelligent, funny, and interesting-- something a lot of economics professors aren't really known for. This is the second and last class I will take with him but I couldn't recommend him highly enough. He knows his class is difficult but I actually feel accomplished from it.
Quizzes are manageable and the exams are fair if you study ahead of time but definitely look into smokin notes. Overall solid professor
Professor Knight was by far my favorite teacher this year. He gives you every opportunity to succeed, and really cares about you as a student. Even though it's an online class I always felt that I had somewhere to go if I had any concerns class related or otherwise. If you study hard, the tests are easy but the subject matter is still hard.
He explains the material in a fairly easy way to make you understand it, but once you get to the exam it's 1000 times more complicated, even though I did all the reading. I would not take again, very difficult.
Dr. Knight is awesome, SUPER friendly & helpful & really cares about his students! Can be kind of repetitive in lectures so if you have a short attention span like me & need a fast pace to pay attention, you might find yourself wandering. Makes material interesting. MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN NOTECARD FOR THE TESTS! Buying it does not serve you.
Saying he is a good professor is an understatement. If you somehow don't get a high grade in this class then you are probably not college material. He is the nicest individual on the planet and he really cares about his students. Couldn't recommend him enough.
I'm taking his class this year as a senior and I cant honestly say he is one of the greatest professors I have ever had. He definitely is going to make you work for your grade, but he clearly loves what he does and will do anything in his power to help you. Go to his office hours, go to class, you can't not love him.
Knight is great. He's enthusiastic, cares about his students, and makes intermediate micro fun and fairly easy. I'm sitting with a 98 and it wasn't super hard. There are problems sets that take a while -- but prepare you for exams. He's an amazing professor - I plan to take every single Knight class I can. TAKE HIM!! Fun AND interesting!!!
Professor Knight is a great professor! His macroeconomics (ECO2013) class is composed of 3 exams and 10 quizzes (lowest 2 quizzes dropped). The quizzes are given almost weekly and are based on the lectures, so it forces you to keep up with the material. The textbook was pretty useless, so consider skipping it. The exams are very fair.
Best professor I've had so far. I've never cared enough to write a review but he is truly amazing. Quizzes are fair and tests are fair if you've studied. He helps in every way possible to get you the best grade by dropping 2 lowest scores on quizzes and an exam. He's a genuinely awesome person and I recommend him 100%!!!!
His lectures were great and very clear. He really tries to help you understand the concepts and is always willing to help.
He's a genuinely great professor and a great person. Really nice and helpful. Tests are extremely hard! Doesn't drop one of the lowest exams like Dr. Rush. Exams count for over 60% of your grade so even if you study your butt off and watch every lecture you still may not do as well on exams and get a very low gradenot pass.
He really listens to his students and seems like a very genuine, sweet person. I would take his class again. I do not recommend taking this in your first semester at UF. This is too difficult for that purpose.
This class is probably one of the easiest classes you can take in the business school. His exams are exactly the same as the ones from the same semester, 10 questions are usually repeated. Try to make this class easier than it needs to be and for the lecture he explains everything but can go off on a tangent sometimes.
Very clear about expectations and a great communicator. Learned a lot plus he's really fun
Dr. Knight is absolutely amazing. He is so funny and nice, and there for his students. He was helpful in any way he could be, and his lectures were interesting and relevant to today's economy.
Dr. Knight was awesome. Lectures could get a little long, but definitely recommend them because he explains topics clearly and uses a lot of examples that are helpful. Quizzes are based on the text, and exams are very straightforward. He doesn't try and trick you, instead he actually tests on material that is relevant. Study the practice tests.
Fantastic and caring teacher. The class was challenging though. It helps to attend live lecture.
LOVE LOVE LOVE. There are not enough good things in the world to say about Professor Knight. Made an online class interesting and interactive. Wish i could retake the class.
In depth lectures and made sure students understood the material.
Professor Knight is a great professor. He made economics easy to grasp and understand the concepts. He is always there whenever you have any sort of question which I thought was extremely helpful. He is there to help students learn and do their best, he is not a professor who does not care about his students.
Lectures did not make sense, quizzes were hard and unrelated to lecture material. It was very unclear whether or not material would be taken from the text or from the lecture. Overall, one of the worst professors I've had in a long time.
He's a good professor, but the material is difficult. There's a reason this a 4 credit class, you have to put in work. The quizzes aren't based on the lecture, they're based on the book so definitely read. Do the practice exams, all of them. He puts up a huge quiz for practice before every exam. Econ guy videos were the best part of the class.
Honestly went into this class thinking it would be easier, but less interesting than Professor Rush. It was just the latter-This professor is not worth watching. He rambles and barely gives any examples relating to the weekly quizzes. The exams themself are average, but dont rely on old semesters to see how you will do. Overall, its a no from me.
Professor Knight is a great instructor. I actually decided to take this class my sophomore year to balance it with a hard class like business finance. This class is not bad but I studied more for finance than economics. His quizzes/tests were fair (high Bs on all the exams) but I was still less than 1 point away from an A-. Watch lectures!
Amazing teacher. He makes class interesting and explains well. Quizzes are completely based on the textbook so don't even bother using your lecture notes. Tests, however, are based more on notes and past exams. Honestly received a B because I wouldn't study as much as I should have.
He is a very slow talker but that is okay because he is the nicest professor at the university. If you have any issue or any needs and if you go to his office hours then he will be there to help you. I WISH HE TAUGHT EVERY CLASS AT UF. Incredible person and incredible teacher.
As far as the PROFESSOR goes, he's freaking awesome. Everybody loves him, he's very genuine and loves what he does. He should teach everything at UF. However if you're taking ECO2013 and you're not great with economics get ready to work. This is by far the hardest class I've taken at UF so far. Quizzes are based on book so buy it.
Make a favor to yourself and please TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM!!! You'll love him, I promise. He is the sweetest, nicest, and the greatest professor at UF. I'm was doubting about doing an economics major, so I took his class. He made me fall in love with eco. He's very fair with grading, and if you have a problem, just go an talk to him.
One of the BEST professors I've had at UF. He's a sweet guy and very personable. I was amazed at how easily he could teach topics that I initially found challenging. The material wasn't easy, so you need to put in some work (I took over 100 pages of notes to get my A). Professor Knight wants to see you succeed and is there for you if you need him.
The subject matter is fairly dry but Knight does his best to make it interesting. 2 online lectures/ wk, 90 min each. Sadly, there was no speed adjustment option but I did suggest that for next semester. 3 exams, not bad but make sure to practice with old exams and review terminology. Textbook helps with quizzes more than lecture.
Professor Knight is the man. He actually cares about his students and is there for you. He made Macroeconomics very interesting and easy to learn. The best way to study for exams is reviewing old exams.
Your grade is based on 12 quizzes,he takes the best 10, 3 exams, and 4 discussion posts. The information is OK. Class is easier if you take Micro before. I used the textbooks only for the quizzes because most of the questions came from there.
Economics is an easy class as long as you study for the exams and try out those practice exams beforehand. I loved taking Dr. Knight's class. He was always excited and ready to teach and he explains everything really well.
Dr. Knight is the best professor for spicing up a very dry subject. I enjoyed watching his lectures but sadly they're 2 hrs long. Very charismatic! Quizzes: open note/book. Exams are tough, but read the book, study previous exams, and do the practice exams, and you should do well! Torturous for someone who isn't great at Econ, but not impossible.
Dr. Knight is awesmoe. I absolutely loved having him as a professor despite the course content being fairly difficult. I recommend watching all lectures and keeping up with work instead of getting behind. You will learn a lot and he really cares about students.
Knight's lectures are relatively lengthy but he makes an effort to make learning economics relatable and fun. No homework requirement, quizzes aren't timed/are open book. Study Edge is extremely helpful if you don't like watching lectures/going to class. They also supply quiz supplements each week that review the concepts that will be on the quiz.
Professor Knight is a blast. I had my worries because I am not the biggest economics wiz, but he makes econ a lot of fun. My favorite thing is that he uses silly examples sometimes (like cat sweaters) for boring graphs and just genuinely always seems happy. You have to study hard and keep on quizzes, but you'll enjoy your time.
Dr. Knight is a great teacher. He is super fair, and his exams/quizzes are reasonable. AS long as you keep up with lectures, you should be fine. Your grade is calculated from 10 weekly quizzes, 3 exams, and 4 discussion posts. The quizzes are online and the discussion posts are graded for completion. Take this class!
Okay. Prof Knight is a fantastic guy. His lectures are entertaining and leave you feeling like you have a firm grasp on the topics you need. The only problem, is he makes his exams on information he never even touched. He talks forever about his personal life and you'll be lucky to get a page of notes out of one lecture. Even with scouring the text
Amazing. That's the best way to describe Dr. Knight. His lectures were extremely interesting, he was very kind, and he truly cares about the students. I'm a psychology major, and this has been my favorite class, ever. His tests were VERY fair, and as long as you study your lecture notes, you should be fine.
He bought us pizza for review sessions every night before exams and regularly brought in doughnuts for our morning classes. We used game sessions to test out the game theory we were learning. Awesome. That said, this class in no joke. Brush up on your basic calc and get ready to take a lot of notes every lecture.
My favorite class at UF so far. Professor Knight is enthusiastic and effective with his teaching. He is extremely fair with grading. He offers plenty of resources for studying, including old tests, and this makes exams very doable. Wish I could have him again.
USE STUDY EDGE! On the first test I strictly watched the videos, yet received a 62 on the exam. For the second test I focused on the textbook and only watched about half of the lectures. I received a 75. For the final exam I watched all the study edge videos, and none of the lectures or textbook. I received a 90. Don't waste time with the lectures!
very fun, super enthusiastic, and caring. can go very off topic tho and lectures can be drawn out so you can skip through a lot of it. I used Study Edge cause they did a good job of getting to the point and showing exactly what you needed to know for the exam and were able to condense like 4 of his lectures into 1. Great teacher overall!!
Prof Knight is very charismatic & nice, and does his best to make boring lectures fun and accessible. The class definitely requires a lot of effort, but it's doable. He offers extra credit and is clear about his expectations. Exams aren't easy, but the quizzes are open note! Don't bother with the book. I highly recommend taking this class with him!
Professor Knight is my favorite person in the entire world! He was such an amazing professor and made macroeconomics so fun and easy to understand. His examples in his lectures are extremely relatable and his tests aren't too bad as long as you study the old exams (which he posts). I wish he taught all my other classes so I could have him again.
Professor Knight is by far the best teacher I have had so far at UF. He is an excellent lecturer and really strives to make sure students understand the material! His tests are fair and extremely doable if you watch lectures and do practice exams. Study Edge practically gauntness 100s on quizzes with quiz supplements.
Professor Knight is probably one of the best professors I have ever had! His lectures are easy to understand if you PAY ATTENTION. Even if you don't get certain concepts during lecture, he gives a good examples to make sure that you get a glimpse of what he's trying to say. As long as you keep up with the quizzes, lectures, etc, you will do great!
Professor Knight is probably my favorite teacher at UF. He relates macroeconomics to many up-to-date things. Such as, we will talk about comparing fidget spinners to coffee to college tuition. His lectures are crucial to watch, but they are not bad. They are extremely resourceful. The exams are almost EXACTLY the same as old exams so STUDY those!!
Dr. Knight is an awesome lecturer. I really appreciate the time and effort he puts into his lectures and the structure of the course. I took Macro in High School and did really poorly; he made Macro use to understand. I hardly used the textbook, maybe opened it once? His lectures explain everything in detail. DO NOT SKIP LECTURE.
Dr. Knight was one of the best professors I've ever had in college. He clearly enjoys what he does and takes the time to be professional and approachable. I highly recommend his principles of macro class to anyone. The class was not an easy A but it is certainly doable if you take your time on the quizzes and study for the exams.
Knight put on a good class. His lectures got all the material in that was needed for the exam except the got wordy and long at times. Personally, when watching lectures online I don't care for the extra little jokes and fun class stuff, I just want them to get to the point. Study Edge saved my life when it came to that, I cut my study time in half.
Dr. Knight is a great professor and teaches Macroeconomics in an entertaining and interactive way. There are 3-4 hours of lecture a week available in person or online. I would speed through lecture online and then review with Study Edge. Between Study Edge and the practice exams Dr. Knight provides anyone can do well in this course.
He is a really awesome teacher. He's super comprehensive in his lectures and emails back super fast! All of his stuff is very organized and he's great at answering question and being detailed. He is light-hearted (makes jokes during class) and you can tell that he really wants everyone to do well.
Dr. Knight truly has a fantastic understanding of every aspect of Macroeconomics and explains things in detail exceedingly well. I did mediocre in the class because I personally found the exams extremely difficult and there are very few grades (not to mention that you don't know your grade in the class til the end of the semester!), so study A LOT!
Knight is a really cool guy. Very clear and concise with lectures and tells you EXACTLY what you need to do to succeed and is very clear with the way he does things. The class is somewhat challenging, but I'm real bad with Econ. As long as you watch the lectures and do the practice quizzes you'll do fine. I have a B and like I said, I'm bad w/Econ.
Professor Knight is a very good economics professor. He holds two live lectures a week and posts them on Canvas for the students. At the end of each week he opens a quiz and gives you the full weekend to finish it. At the end of the semester he drops the lowest two quiz grades in case there was one subject you didn't understand as well.
I thought macro was going to be such a hard class but Professor Knight made me genuinely enjoy this class and it was so much better than I expected. Watch the lectures, take notes, and do the quizes and you should be fine
Professor Knight is an amazing professor. That being said you must go to class and pay attention in lecture (which isn't hard to do) because the class has its difficulties. He's very accessible out of class, but watch out for the final, it was a take home and partner exam, but it was very tricky. All around he is a great professor who really cares.
Okay so let me state some stuff right off the bat: -You will never use the textbook. - I got a high A and never watched a single lecture after the first test- they're a waste of time, do study edge weekly chapter reviews instead. -Study Edge everything for this class!! Quiz supplements are key and very helpful. An A is very doable-- put in the work
Dr. Knight is an excellent professor, I just felt he was trying to make the class hip/relatable way too often, and it got really annoying. He does, however, effectively outline what's on the quizzes/exams. The concepts were kept at a pretty rudimentary level. Easy A if you put in the time (which i didn't). StudyEdge is also great for this class.
I. Loved. Professor. Knight. Honestly, I don't like economics. I never cared for it. But he made the class so enjoyable, and he's super funny. His examples are comical and keep you interested and listening. He's been one of my favorite Professors Ive had, and will miss him. His exams weren't hard, just go over the practice exams posted.
I got a lower grade in this class than in chem, physics, and calc which I took at the same time as this one. It is only exam based and there is no hw or practice really to prepare you for the exam.
He's really good at simplifying and he's actually pretty cool. He makes economics very enjoyable idk if I'm just weird, but I loved his class.
He's a good professor, but the class is very exam heavy so make sure you study hard for all exams. Some questions are very tricky which is the only thing that makes this class hard.
I'm a STEM major so going initially I looked at this class as a pointless gen. ed. requirement but it has become so much more than that. I feel like I have learned SO much already. I am now planning on picking up a business minor and even studying abroad. Knight has an awesome personality. Do the study edge, do the practice exams, easy A.
3 exams, weekly quizzes, biweekly discussions. If you do the Study Edge exam reviews, take his practice exams seriously, and make a good index card for your exams, you'll definitely get an A in the class. I really enjoyed Knight, his personality is awesome and his lectures are interesting. I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Absolutely amazing at making economics accessible and entertaining with relatable analogies. Super nice guy, and willing to take feedback and change grades for the rare unfair test question. This is not a hard class, and the lectures cover most things, but I would recommend reading the book. I would've gotten an A instead of an A- if I had done so.
Fair amount of quizzes and a a few discussions posts so your grade isn't based on just the exams. Material isn't hard and you can pass just by watching the lectures and studying off the old exams he has posted.
Pay attention to the lectures and work hard on the quizzes and you will be fine. But be warned, the lectures are 2x as long as they need to be so he can get off topic and tell lots of stories.
You will need to watch the lectures to pass for sure, but overall the class is not too bad. Professor Knight teaches the information very clearly and is accessible outside of class to clear things up. The discussion posts and quizzes will help build your grade up.
He doesn't get to his points really well and tries to make lectures fun. He is hard to listen to talk.
Knight is a decent lecturer and uses solid examples to help grasp certain difficult concepts. He gives weekly practice problems, which usually are very similar to the tests. Since the class is mostly dependent on your test grades, utilizing the resources he provides (i.e. old exams) is crucial for success in the course.
Professor Knight is one of the best professors Ive had at UF. He really cares about the students and gives a plethora of examples when teaching concepts. Whenever he seems to trail off topic, he brings it back full circle to the material. He really reminded me why I liked the material so much. Awesome professor would take again in a heartbeat.
Dr. Knight was hands-down the best professor I've had at UF. He makes economics fun and interesting, genuinely cares about his students, and exams are very fair. Your grade depends on the amount of effort you put into the class. Study Edge helped me secure an A.
I absolutely loved Knight. His lectures are long and filled with many tangents, but are very entertaining and some questions come right from lecture. Tests are very straightforward. Gave an option for extra credit but you had to pay for it. I only skimmed the book before exams and did well. Definitely use Study Edge for their practice exams.
Knight is a fantastic professor and a kind person. He makes economics exciting and applicable, and because of his class I am an economics major. The class itself isn't too difficult, though it is harder than Rush. I loved watching his lectures because he provided coherent notes, useful examples, and straightforward guidelines for grading.
Exams make up 72% of the course, with quizzes taking up 16%. This means that for the tests Smokin Notes or StudyEdge is basically required if you want to get an A in this class. Great lectures especially if you go in-person, though!
Very personable professor, easily approachable and makes the material fun to learn.
He knows what hes talking about and tries to break it down as well as he can for the class. Great lectures.
Never read the textbook, only watched lectures and took notes. Knight makes macro easier to understand. 3 big tests worth basically all of your grade. Lots of tutors available.
I like Prof. Knight as a person. His lectures are on average an hour and a half long, and there are two a week. He stays off topic a lot. Test questions are tricky, and tests make up for most of your grade. You could do well (80% and up) on all quizzes & assignments and still fail if you do not get a C or better on each test.
Seriously one of the best professors I've ever taken. Amazing lecturer and is super helpful outside of class. Answers emails within an hour. WATCH THE LECTURES and do his practice tests and you'll pass.
Knight is amazing. I am not much of an ECO person but he made every concept simple to understand and also exciting that you actually wanted to pay attention. Highly recommend going to his lectures in person
Dr. Knight is an incredible professor. I struggled with micro last term and was nervous to take this class but Knight is an amazing professor. I would definitely recommend study edge because some concepts are difficult and going over past exams and study edge mock exams. I admire his passion for his work, merit, attitude, and care for his students
Great Professor if you are a business major of any kind you will have to take his class .He is very funny and has great lectures. I suggest reading the book and watching all the lectures. If you do these things and stay on top of the online class you will be fine.
Professor Knight is a very upbeat lecturer who makes learning the concepts enjoyable. The exams make up 72% of your total grade, so if you don't watch the lectures you definitely won't pass. While I had my struggles in the class, I do not put any of the blame on Professor Knight.
Professor Knight is an excellent professor who really cares about his students. Whenever I emailed him with a question, he would respond within an hour. Would highly recommend Study Edge as I got a membership during the last month to study for Exam 3, and I received the highest score of all 3 exams. Didn't read the book, only watched lectures.
Professor Knight makes the material extremely easy to learn. I took Econ in high school and knew nothing coming out, but after this class I felt like a pro. Best professor Ive had at UF so far
Professor Knight is funny. i recommend watching lecture on double speed so that you dont spend hours at a time. There are three exams which all count towards the final grade. second exam is hard compared to the first and last.
Professor Knight is the BEST professor I had my freshman year and made spring semester bearable. I didn't open the book once. I just went to lecture, took notes and listened, which was not too hard since his lectures are interesting and engaging. My friends and I all got high As. He lets you use a 3x5 index card on every exam.
I loved Professor Knight as a person. He has a warming personality that grabs your attention. However, as his student my learning style did not clique w/ his teaching style. His lectures were interesting but there were few assignments that helped me practice the material. If you're a hands on learner this class might not fit for you.
Basically the whole class is lectures. Luckily his lectures are very entertaining
The class is lecture based w/ textbook readings, but I never used the textbook. His lectures are long, but they give you the info as simply and easily understandable as possible. Pay attention! He gives you past exams w/ answer keys to study. I would go through those in detail to study for each exam and those were all I needed to pass the exams.
Professor Knight is an extremely awesome professor. I did have my struggles in this class due to the amount of lectures and duration of lectures. GET READY FOR LECTURES THAT ARE OVER 2 1/2 hours. The lectures are M-W and Exam reviews are Thurs. This was a very tough class for me EXAMS ARE YOUR ENTIRE GRADE. STUDY!!!
Never posted grades on time. Was unhelpful when contacted. Made content cumbersome to access.
Best Profm I've had at UF in my time being here. His lectures are amazing and you learn not only things about economics but about life in this class. Definitely reccomend taking him if you have the chance
Professor Knight is a really great teacher. The content of the class can be a little tricky but his lectures and examples really help to understand what is going on. I definitely wish I could take more classes with him!
By far the best professor Ive had at UF. Lectures are clear and interesting, there are plenty of resources for practice problems, and exams are always fair.
Professor Knight rocks. Even watching him online, I still found his lectures interesting and engaging. You'll only hate the class if you don't like the topic. Tests are all fair, I happen to do really well but you definitely have to study for them. Do ALL the practice tests and maybe study edge if you have it.
Not tough at all, just make sure to stay on top of due dates and study for exams.
Amazing professor! He keeps you engaged during lectures, but I did speed them up when I watched them. It's not necessary to go to class if you can watch the lectures online, and I never read the book and always got at least A's on exams. He has weekly quizzes and short writing assignments but most of the time they're a breeze if you pay attention.
i was really nervous about this class because econ is not my strong suit, but prof knight was great. i used to book for vocab but mostly relied on lectures for the weekly quizzes. there are a few short writing assignments and 3 exams. he lets you use a notecard on the exam. i had to work during one of the exam times and he helped me reschedule
He is so knowledgeable about the subject, it's amazing. The final was non-cumulative. You have 3 exams (including the final) which make up most of your grade but there is also weekly quizzes and very easy "writing assignments" which are literally a paragraph. 2 of the quizzes are dropped and there was only 4 writing assignments. 10/10 great class!!
Great prof! Tests are all based off lecture notes and a few random quiz questions. Online textbook is used often for quizzes, mandatory purchase or you fail all quizzes. Clear grading criteria for writing assignments and lots of emails to ensure you are on track for due dates. Very nice, truly wants everyone to pass.
What an incredible professor! Professor Knight is very kind, intelligent and passionate about macroeconomics. The material can be difficult but Professor Knight explains it very thoroughly in his lectures. I enjoyed this class very much.
He is so amazing about keeping students informed! Never confused or unsure in this class. There is a lot of material but he is able to make it clear to understand. Gives amazing lectures. Exams are really easy if you take the old exams he posts. He sets you up for success, would love to take this professor again!
DO WELL ON THE EXAMS. Worth <70% of your grade. Quizzes are another 15% and answers are mostly online. Not a lot of work for a 4 credit class. Knight is funny and tells anecdotes all the time. Makes macroeconomics easy to learn. Watch his videos on 2x speed because he talks slow knowing kids will do it anyways. No need to go to lecture
Professor Knight is an amazing individual, after the course he was still helpful due to a problem I had. However his class was very difficult with my learning style. The lectures were very long and the quizzes were difficult. If you're a hands on learner or your thinking isn't one of an "economist" you want t study. 3 exams 12 quizzes 3 assignments
just get study edge and you're perfect
Its should be the best prof ive ever had in uf. prof. Knight is approachable and sapiential. Lectures are exceptionally straightforward and insightful, which is ez to follow up. Its fairly to say that hes tests are all based on Lectures. Takin this course is double blessing cuz its GPA booster and also offers a big pic abt Econ. Would take it ag
Professor Knight is my favorite professor at UF so far. The workload is not bad - a quiz a week and occasionally a short writing assignment. You do not need study edge for this class or even need to read the textbook religiously. Just watch the lectures. Professor Knight is engaging and explains material VERY well.
Hands down nicest guy ever. Class isn't too tough. Study edge is a great supplement for the material.
Professor Knight is such a nice professor! Unfortunately, my schedule did not allow me to attend his lectures, but I wish I could go to his classes. He makes this class very interesting. He uses good examples that is applied for the concepts. Also, do well on the exams bc it's worth a lot. He is also very accessible if you ever have any questions.
Dr. Knight is an amazing professor. His lectures are engaging and it's very easy to follow along. He is also very accommodating and takes recommendations from students seriously. His exams are not difficult if you study previous semester's exams and write useful information on your index card.
Overall a decent Proffesor. His lectures are unnecessarily long. Gets off topic really easy. A lecture would last 2 hrs, 1:30 min of random things and 30 minutes of actual teaching. He does an amazing job at explaining things, gives you all the necessary material so that you can get an A. He is really good but could use the lectures to do more ex.
80-90% online. Knight's lectures are super interesting and he's enthusiastic about what he teaches. Always available to help with any questions. Didn't use study edge; just watch his lectures, do his weekly questions, and understand the quizzes. Do his practice exams and use it to make your flashcards. One of my favorite professors.
Such a good class! He is clear in everything he presents in lectures. Definitely would have taken this class before micro because you learn a lot of the world through this class. Quizzes are easy, lectures are good at twice the speed, and exams are easy if you do the practice ones. Smokin notes not needed.
Personally I thought this class was harder than ECO2023 with Prof. Rush, but it was just the content that I found slightly difficult. Prof. Knight is a great teacher, and his lectures are interesting and straight forward, and it's easy to study for exams because he gives you all of his old exams to study with, and they're very very alike.
He's an amazing professor that converted economic concepts into relatable scenarios with the world. I thought his class was easier than ECO2023 with Rush but definitely watch his lectures and do the short writing assignments. Use smoking notes and do all his past exams for practice.
A fantastic professor who can explain economics in such a way that applies to everyday situations. The lectures themselves are very good at demonstrating a concept and how it exists. His grading criteria is very clear and he is very strict on the contents of his syllabus. It is very dependent on self-responsibility, meaning keeping up is up to you.
A bit tougher than micro but good teacher. Lots of study edge!
I really enjoyed listening to Dr. Knight's lectures. He would use relatable examples when teaching macro concepts, so that was helpful when learning. The exams were sometimes tricky, but doing his previous practice exams were helpful.
Professor Knight is very likable and a good professor; however, it is extremely hard to get an A in his course. Any small missteps will cause your ability to get an A to become impossible. You have to be very careful to not mess up on exams. This course's grade is basically only affected by exams. If you aren't a good exam taker like me, beware!
I loved professor Knight. I took his class online as a hybrid and liked how clear his teaching was. He does talk a lot about irrelevant stuff so it's nice to skip though that with online lectures. There are 3 exams which are heavily weighted and you are allowed a cheat sheet on all of them. He really cares about your success and it shows.
I honestly loved professor knight and I know he cares about student success. But I am not a good test taker and totally failed all of his exams. If you don't do well on even one of his exams your grade will show. Im sure its not that bad if you have background knowledge in economics.
Professor Knight is an incredible professor and person! The material itself can be difficult, but he makes it engaging and interesting with his lectures and real-world examples. As long as you watch all of the lecture videos each week and read the textbook, you will be fine!!! Professor Knight is great and the class taught me so much valuable info
Great professor. Class is a little harder than micro but just stay up with the lectures and you'll be good. smokin notes is helpful too.
Always happy and excited about the material he is lecturing
Buy the textbook to access the quizzes, but don't read it. Knight's lectures are very comprehensive and easy to follow. He responds to emails really quickly and is all around a good teacher. My biggest advice: JOIN GCS/DISCORDS. He allows collaboration on quizzes, so they come in handy. The hardest thing is exams, but he allows a "cheat sheet"
TAKE THIS CLASS! You won't regret it. Dr. Knight is hands down the best prof I have had so far. He is nice, funny, and his lectures are actually interesting. His teaching is very comprehensive and makes you learn. You do have to study (I recommend taking the practice exams) to get a good grade, but overall I benefitted from this class!
One of the first online classes I've taken here at UF, and I must say it did not disappoint. The material itself is a bit hard, but the professor knight is amazing and tries his best to help us understand it. Didn't read the textbook at all because his lecture vids covered everything. Sweet, kind, and funny man, and responds to emails fast.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Knight. His lectures were honestly so fun to watch because hell relate the concepts to his personal life and make the material really easy to digest. Between all my classes his lectures were the ones i most looked forward to watching. The tests are not hard if you do all his practice problems and watch all the lectures.
Prof Knight is great! He always found ways to make his lectures seem interesting! His class is definitely harder than micro with Rush, but if you do all of the practice he gives out for the exams you will do fine.
I promise you that if you watch his lectures and do his practice exams, you'll be solid. His test questions all come from his lectures and previous exams that he provides. You don't need to read the textbook (even though it's recommended for the weekly quizzes). He dumbs down his lecture videos by using real-life examples which I found helpful.
Prof. Knight gives some of the best examples I've ever heard, super relatable. They actually get you to understand the subject. The tests are pretty important. Don't fall behind and you should be alright.
What a great professor! This was my first class for my business minor and im bad at math so i was scared, but prof Knights lectures were so great that I was really able to learn and focus on the material. You know exactly what to expect for this class and he gives you all the tools you need to pass every quiz and exam.
I watched lectures for this class, and he did a great job to make the class fun through giving stories, but he always related them back to what we were learning. I used Study Edge for this class too and they really helped me to strengthen the material I felt confident with and helped me learn the concepts I felt clueless about!
I LOVE Prof Knight for ECO2013. I had him for asynchronous and felt like I knew him personally. There are definitely a lot of lectures, but only twice a week and a quiz at the end of the week. I had smokin notes and it really helped me for the exams. The practice exams are exactly like the real exams so DO THEM!!! Also lets you have a notecard
Dr Knight is so passionate about the course which makes the lectures easier to watch. If you watch the lectures and do the practice exams there is no reason you should not get an A in the class. Very fair course
Great teacher and seems to really care about his students and the class. Pretty test heavy, but the exams are non-cumulative so that's good
Professor Knight is a great econ teacher. Although the course is quite lecture heavy, his lectures are fun and I love his real world examples and expensive tastes. Definitely recommend him!
Incredible professor. I used study edge (got an A) but I dont think it was necessary. Make sure to stay on top of his lectures (theyre funny) and youll get an A. First exam was a repeat of Microeconomics, then it gets harder with each exam in my opinion. Make sure to do well on the exams, they obviously count for as the most. DO PRACTICE EXAMS!!
By far one of the best professors I have had at UF so far. His lectures are so entertaining and he made economics so fun to learn. Make sure to do all of his practice exams before each exam to study - they are all VERY similar to one another. I used Smokin Notes to study for each exam as well, which I highly recommend as well. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
One of my favorite professors. Wish I could have taken it in person. Lectures are broken up into multiple videos which is super helpful. He is clear and he gives good examples for concepts. I got Smokin Notes for this class but honestly if you just do a bunch of practice problems you will do well.
Hands down one of the best professors at UF
Professor Knight is very organized. The class consists of weekly lectures and one 10 question quiz each week. Very easy test and if you want an A definitely use StudyEdge! There test reviews are AMAZING and helped me so much with each exam.
Professor Knight gives great and memorable examples in his lecture videos. His course is very forgiving grade-wise because he drops your lowest-scoring quiz. His exam reviews also go over all the important information you need to pass, and he gives lots of practice problems to help you study.
He was a great professor, really engaging lectures with examples you can relate to, and he gives you a lot of resources to study with. The exams from the previous semesters were VERY helpful, and I overall really enjoyed this class!
DR. KNIGHT IS THE BEST!!!! He is funny, makes the content easy to understand, and wants to help you succeed. If he wasn't my professor I feel like I would be great friends with him because he is just that personable. Study for exams but they aren't super overly challenging. He is SUPER responsive to emails and very understanding.
First class I took at UF during Summer B & was great and easy. Just pay attention to the daily lectures and do the practice exams until you know every possible question and youll be fine.
Dr. Knight is very entertaining. He is very thorough in all his lecture videos. He is pretty funny and tells students what will be in exams. There were 6 quizzes and 3 exams in total. If you don't review the content for the exams you probably won't have a decent grade. Lots of work in the class. Practice exams are key to passing the class.
Knight is a great professor, but you HAVE to watch the lectures if you really want to do well. Skim the textbook, watch the lectures and take notes, then take notes from the textbook. Six quizzes and three tests are pretty much the entire grade so you need to stay on top of it. Smokin' Notes and Study Edge are good for this class, I recommend it.
Dr. Knight is an awesome professor. His lectures are posted online but you have the option of going in person, must watch. They are entertaining, he gives great examples, and he's great about answering any questions you have. His class can be difficult at times but if you're familiar with econ it's not as difficult. Highly recommend!
There is lecture twice a week followed by a short quiz and writing assignment once a week. I never read the textbook and learned only from his lectures- but he does sidetrack a lot, adding an unnecessary 15-20 minutes to every lecture.
Great professor, I did not watch many lectures and still did well in the class. He is very quick to respond to emails and communicates well with students.
Dr. Knight is funny, personable, and immensely passionate about his field of research. No question is a stupid question in this class and seems to have memorized all the lectures, which is super cool. Read the book, do the practice questions/exams (!!!), and go to lectures. Makes economics cool. Mad respect for Dr. Knight.
Professor Knight is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. He does not help students with learning the material at all and makes everything over complicated for absolutely no reason. If I could give one word of advice it would be to get this class out of the way at a community college because he will only make you feel like you are stupid.
Weekly quizzes that essentially determine your grade. If you don't do well on the quizzes, you will not succeed. On the first day of class, Knight bragged about sending students to honor court and always recommending the harshest punishment. It's a freshman level course, yet Knight treats it as if its a 6000 level course. Take macro at Santa Fe.
His lecture is very organized and easy to follow. Students often ask real-life based questions and he tries his best to answer them all, and it makes the course more interesting. A number of practice questions are offered including 3 previous exams. He is a good person and a good lecturer. I highly recommend taking the course.
Dr. Knight is probably the best professor I will have at UF. As someone who enjoys Econ and did well on Micro in high school, it was no surprised I loved macro. His lectures are easy to follow (and long) but they are incredibly helpful. He truly cares about each and every student and wants them to do their best. Could not recommend Dr. Knight more!
Professor Knight's class was great. Your grade is based on weekly quizzes, 4 short writing assignments, and 3 noncumulative exams. The practice tests and weekly practice problems are your best friend before an exam; the exams are similar types of questions. The weekly quizzes and SWAs were pretty easy. Watch all the lectures!
Professor Knight is such a sweet guy, and he tries really hard to make macroeconomics as fun as possible! I wouldn't say the class is a walk in the park, as some of the content is tricky, but as long as you put in the effort, you should be able to get an A.
As long as you watch the lectures and take practice exams before exams you are so fine!! Such an easy credit if you need it! He makes class so interesting too!
Professor Knight's ECO2013 class was a tricky one, but still manageable. He gives you a final grade calculator so you can predict your grade as you take the class. He drops two of your lowest quiz grades, but don't use them as an opportunity to skip a quiz. The exams are each separate and unrelated to the other. Use Study Edge for the best chance!
I never attended an in person lecture by Dr. Knight but I could tell he cared about whether students understood the topics. He gives many examples that relate to daily life and relates content to current events. The exams aren't too bad if you do all the practice available. The quiz content can be found with an easy google search (no honorlock).
Awesome professor. Very responsive, has lectures down pat. Pay attention in lecture, and do the practice exams. They are very similar to what the actual exams look like, since they are just old exams. I found second exam to be the toughest, so make sure you pay extra attention to the content for that exam. Valuable and interesting class.
Great Professor that goes very in-depth in the lectures and gives all the resources needed to succeed in this class. Reading the textbook is optional, I just went to the lectures and got all of the information there. I would suggest taking handwritten notes for this class, as it will be very useful for the economic models.
great prof
Professor Knight was great on his own but I don't think I would be doing as well in his class as I am without the help of Study Edge. Study Edge helped to reorganize the content in a way that was easier to digest and made it much easier to understand. Their easily accessible exam reviews help me to test my knowledge and improve my grades.
I love Dr. Knight. However, I did not even need to attend a lecture thanks to study edge! Because of study edge I was able to get an A and learn all of the material without sitting through lecture.
Professor Knight was a great professor and explained everything well. However, I feel like if I didnt use Study Edge I wouldnt have done as well as I did. Study Edge really saved me for this class, highly recommend getting it!!
Professor Knight is a great professor, however Study Edge really helped me further my understanding of the subjects taught in this class. The tutors for this class are great and I wouldn't have done so well without them!
i hate hate HATE macro and it is not a subject that has come naturally at all. i do horrible on the tests but i know most of my friends are doing well. hes a good teacher and lecturer (even though the lectures are longgggg, 1.5 hours twice a week) but i just hate the subject so much that even a good professor couldnt change that.
I cannot emphasize this enough: memorize the syllabus. Knight is a nice guy and good teacher but is very set in his policies & procedures. Be aware of things like file names (if its wrong you automatically get a 0) and quiz due dates at 8am. Know to do them the day before, you're not gonna wake up at 6am to do it. PAY ATTENTION TO LECTURES.
Professor Knight is amazing. It is clear that he is passionate in what he does and what he teaches. He responds to emails in minutes and is insanely caring towards his students. I also love how he low-key flexes on his international adventures. He is living his best life.
This is not a difficult class you just need to put in some work for studying. The best resource is by far the old practice exams which he gives 3 of to practice. The weekly module questions are often overlooked but an excellent resource as well. You hardly need the textbook, just watch the lectures and take good handwritten notes.
You don't need study edge for this class as long as you watch the lectures. Practice exams are essential to study because they're just like the real thing. Exams make up the bulk of your grade, but aren't difficult if you get a feel for each type of question. Lectures are long but can be interesting at times.
Professor Knight is amazing, highly recommend taking this class! If you watch lectures, skim the textbook, do the weekly quizzes and do the practice exams, you'll be fine. Exam 1 is very similar to the one taken in micro, exam 2 was the hardest imo, and the final (non cumulative!) is surprisingly easy.
Professor Knight is a very caring professor who truly wants every one of his students to succeed. His class is pretty hard but it is possible to do well if you study hard and put the time in.
Good class for freshmen, attendance isn't mandatory but watching the lectures is a good idea. Exams are not cumulative (well, not entirely, there are concepts from previous chapters but those aren't really what the exams are trying to gauge, if that makes sense)
Professor Knight was amazing. I couldn't recommend this class enough. His lectures were funny and very informative, always covering what was needed and made the readings a lot better. What I did was watched the lectures then did the readings. I did decent on the exams, and the quizzes were pretty easy. I didn't use Study Edge or Smokin' Notes.
I don't think he's as good as Prof Rush, but he is still an amazing teacher. Prof Knight cares about every student, as well as the topics he teaches about. He truly does make an effort, which isn't something I can say for every teacher at UF. This class is slightly harder than micro, but just do the practice tests and you'll be fine.
Honestly could have done better if I applied myself more. Study Edge will take care of you if you don't wanna watch lectures. Pretty easy intro course.
He is an amazing teacher.
The BEST professor I have ever had at UF. First time where watching lectures felt like I was actually learning something and didn't need to resort to outside help (like youtube videos). Gives plenty of practice exams and makes the content extremely digestible. Answers emails very quickly. Wish every prof was like him.
Professor Knight gives captivating lectures and is overall a wonderful professor. Knight is upbeat, enthusiastic, and truly wants everyone he teaches to succeed. He has awesome communication skills and makes sure class policy is very clear. No need for Study Edge or any other tutoring, as long as you watch all the lectures and take notes.
Professor Knight's lectures are informative and interesting, and he's got a positive attitude. He offers weekly non-graded assignments in addition to weekly graded homework.; be sure to do the non-graded assignments and watch the corresponding solution videos. Professor Knight is a great instructor and I strongly recommend taking his class.
He talks about interesting things during his lectures and a lot about himself so we get to know him better. He also engages the class a lot during his lectures.
Professor Knight is an excellent instructor he ties in current events and examples to explain the material. To succeed, I would recommend watching his lectures and then reading the corresponding textbook chapter- it really helps make the concepts concrete. He gives you the tools you need to succeed and is very fair. You have to watch the lectures.
Professor Knight is a great professor who's relatable. He has an obsession with his email, and HAS to check them as soon as notifications pop up. ANY time I emailed Professor Knight, he replied back within a few minutes. I loved this. If you put the hours in studying, you'll receive a good grade.
Easy classes if you watch the lectures and ace the weekly quizzes.
Professor Knight is such an amazing professor. His lectures are great, interactive, and easy to follow. He goes into a lot of detail, which helps understand the material. There are weekly quizzes, but as long as you pay attention and are understanding, they are easy. The material itself is not the easiest, but the way he teaches is very helpful.
Professor Knight is an awesome professor. The material is not easy but if you pay attention in lectures you can succeed in the course. I would recommend taking him whenever possible. You are not required to go to class but it can benefit you a lot (especially if you are confused).
This is an online course (optional lectures) but I highly recommend going to the lectures, it will change your life. He talks about everything that will be mentioned on the test, and he's an AMAZING lecturer. He is funny, interactive, clearly knows the material, uses real-world examples, and always answers questions in detail. Overall great!!!
Great teacher, and provides multiple ways for you to learn the material. He does live lectures in person, recorded lectures or recorded videos. Tests are somewhat hard but he gives practice exams which are great for studying. 100% would recommend this class.
Online classes suck, but Knight made the lectures engaging enough that it wasn't so bad. You are allowed a note card on all the exams, which was a massive help. Overall great professor.
Professor Knight is a great professor and is very clear on what you will be graded on in the course. If you watch his lectures and do the practice exams he gives, you will do well in the class. Study Edge is helpful for the short writing assignments and exam reviews.
He is very understanding and lenient as we are college students and things occur unexpectedly. Loved his teaching style and enjoyed going to his lectures during the summer semester. He words concepts in a manner not only easy to understand but interesting as well. 10/10 professor.
Professor Knight's lectures are interesting and easy to follow along. He is very good at engaging students and teaching the exact material we need. Practice tests are very helpful. I recommend watching all the lectures before taking the weekly quizzes because it helps a lot.
Knight is an amazing lecturer. He's fun and pretty direct. His exams and SWA's are fair, grades are inputted quickly, and the class is great. You can watch his lectures in 1.6x and supplement with Study Edge review videos before each exam. Take advantage of your notecard, do good on the SWA's, and do every practice exam you can find.
If you watch the lectures you'll do good also do the practice tests provided and you'll be fine. Good professor he seems to care
The only part you need to read is for the final exam. His exams are synchronous. You should be excellent for the final exam if you go through the assignment questions he gives us. He repeats the same questions by changing numerical only.
This class is very straightforward. There's a quiz every week that's open note and easy. The exams are similar to the previous ones so make sure to study those. I only watched the study edge videos and just learned from that.
He is a great lecturer, engages with the class, and seems to genuinely care about his students. Totally deserves the high rating he has!
Knight was very responsive with emails and is continually communicative. The past exams are the bible to this class. I didn't purchase study edge and I passed with an A because of using the past exams to study. The weekly quizzes are doable and help to supplement the exams.
Amazing lectures. Plenty of practice. A very good professor.
Great prof. He tries to make lectures as entertaining as possible. You can also watch lectures both online and in person which is nice.
Professor Knight is super nice and tries to make the material relatable to his students. A lot of people get smokin notes for his class but I didnt find it necessary. If you watch his lectures and do practice exams you will do well in his class.
I used Study Edge for this course as well as watching professor knights in class lectures and the combo of both of these things tremendously helped me for the exams. I felt prepared and confident going into the exams.
Professor Knight is easily one of the best professors I have taken at UF! If you watch the lectures and take good notes, you don't really need to read the textbook. He posts old exams on Canvas: DO THEM (same format every sem). I used Study Edge for the exam reviews and SWA supplements because they break it down and tell you what to focus on.
I hated economics before this class, but he is a very good and clear professor. If you watch the lectures and take notes, you'll do great on the quizzes and writing assignments. Tests are difficult if the material doesn't come naturally to you, but very fair based on the material provided. Study Edge helped me but most people didn't need it.
I've never written a review on here before, but I thought I'd write one just for Professor Knight. One of the best professors/teachers I have ever had! I actually looked forward to watching his lectures twice a week. Class wasn't too difficult. Knight is an amazing person. Anyone who gets the chance to take his class is very lucky.
Professor Knight is fine. His lectures are too long, he goes on too many tangents, and the class is too big for there to feel like there's any personal connection.
Professor Knight is a really entertaining lecturer and I feel I understand everything he teaches during the lecture. But, the quizzes and exams cover things he or the textbook does not focus on. From my experience, it seems this extra information is only understood by those with StudyEdge subscriptions.
most amazing professor in the world. he teaches the content so well and responds to emails so quickly. his tests ACTUALLY reflect what he teaches you in the lectures and it is so clear, so if you do bad it is your own fault
So responsive and a great lecturer. I have always found econ material difficult, but I was able to understand. Best way to do well is to do practice questions + past exams, and study his supplemental videos. Studying is a must (not a free A), but I didn't find StudyEdge super necessary. Watch lectures and study past exams, you'll do great.
There are so many opportunities to earn extra credit. Dr. Knight was clear cut in how he explain things and actually took time to taught, which isn't something all professors can say. I had study edge for another class, but I also used it here, and it was very helpful for what to put on the notecard, but you don't need it to pass.
I took this course this past spring. It was challenging because I'm an advertising major who had to take this for credit. Professor Knight was very kind. He cares about both his students & the course material. 10/10 recommend him. I also had Study Edge for this class and the reviews helped me. For exams do the practice ones he provides. Good luck!
Professor Knight was honestly THE BEST. Not only was he hilarious, but he was engaging. I never felt bored watching him present his lectures. USE THE PAST EXAMS. That's all I used, and I got an A on exam 2&3. I got a B on exam 1, but that's probably because I wasn't fully prepared. The class truly isn't that difficult; you need to put in the work.
Very easy to pass if you use the past exams as a reference. Make sure you pay attention during the lectures. I would rewatch all the lectures and use the past exams to study, and I found all his exams relatively easy. I got an A on exams 2 & 3. I only got a B on exam 1 because I didn't know what to expect. Loved him as a professor, and he's funny!
Didn't learn anything from this class.
Dr. Knight truly knows what he's doing and can tell he is passionate about economics. His lectures are very engaging and funny at times. His tests are very reasonable and easy, as long as you do the past exams.
Absolutely amazing professor, might be the best you'll ever have. Class is very organized and gives plenty of materials for students to be successful in the class without any issues. Lectures are engaging and Knight is such a nice and caring prof. I wish he could teach all my courses!
This course only had major exams. I found it difficult due to the structure and the material. The professor was a good lecturer.
Truly an amazing professor, as one of the first classes I took as a UF student he truly made me feel welcome and comfortable at the school. Prof. Knight is very fun to watch and is a great lecturer making the class easy to understand. Plenty of resources are available which makes it easy to study and prepare for exams and quizzes.
This class was online quizzes/materials, but there were optional in person lectures and in person tests. The material is difficult, but Professor Knight provided multiple video supplements and practice problems per week (DO THEM) to help. Lots of students use StudyEdge, but I found it fine without it, as long as you use the materials he gives you.
I found Professor Knight to be a very good teacher, his lectures are easy to follow along with and I never had any trouble understanding the material if you use the supplements he provides and watch the lectures on time.
Professor Knight is an excellent lecturer. I despise economics, but he teaches it very well and answers every single question from students in great detail. Just be prepared for difficult exams and such. If you aren't well versed in economics, the content can be very difficult to grasp.
The best Economics professor I've had! Dr. Knight is amazing at simplifying complex concepts. I look forward to his lectures because he keeps them engaging and adds some humor. 3 exams (20% each) - use the past exams! 3 assignments (10% each) Weekly quizzes (10% in total) - open-book, no time limit, practice quizzes, look up the questions!
Amazing professor! All of his lectures were engaging, very interactive with students and straight to the point. Very knowledgeable of the material and truly makes it his goal for students understand the basics of economics. 3 practice exams are provided from previous years that are extremely helpful and prepare you well for the actual exam.
The class is pretty easy and Dr. Knight's lectures are thorough and organized. He offers weekly practice problems and supplemental videos that were really helpful. He is super thorough with his expectations and what to have on assignments and bring to exams. He sends out detailed emails filled with reminders, expectations, and general info!
One of the best teachers I've ever had.I was TERRIBLE at economics but I passed this class with an A and got an A on all of his tests and assignments by just watching the lectures and doing his practice tests. He's really funny and his lectures are genuinely entertaining and so informative. Recommend him for anyone who needs to take this class.
Dr. Knight is a great professor and very clearly has a deep understanding of economics. His lectures cover all the material needed for the exams and are interesting even to a STEM major like myself. Study Edge is not necessary to do well in this course; I got a 101 without it. Take detailed notes on the lectures and do all three practice exams!
Great course with straightforward material. Exam grades are forgiving. If you ever have any questions, he will be available for you to ask.
He is a great professor and I hope to take more classes with him
Great lecturer who relates difficult economic concepts to his spending patterns and current events. His exams are super similar to the 3 practice exams he provides before each exam. I don't think I got one trick question/unfair one. He answers super quick, even on weekends. Overall, a class that has set expectations and a great professor!Recommend
there are weekly online quizzes. he is a cool professor and explains a lot. there are 3 exams that make up most of your grade.
I took this class as a junior in high school online and it was super easy. He taught the material very clearly and I never felt like I didn't understand a topic.
I am in this class right now, and Professor Knight is amazing. He gives so many examples that really helps you apply the material. Few assignments and he is an overall very caring professor.
Great professor! Very good lectures and long/thorough explanations. Online quizzes once a week, pretty simple and mostly based on the textbook. Provides a lot of resources online such as practice exams, extra videos, lectures online, and practice problems. Nice guy and def cares about students.
Fantastic Professor! Go to lectures+take good notes and you will do fine. He is a clear lecturer and gives great examples that make concepts easier to understand. There is extra credit and you can work with other students for most assignments so JOIN THE CLASS GROUPME. Economics is a hard class but Professor Knight makes it as simple as it can be.
He is a legend. There are three exams worth 20% each. Three short writing assignments worth 10% each. There are twelve open-book quizzes, two dropped; these quizzes combine for 10% of the grade. Make sure to watch all the lectures even if they need to be sped up. The practice tests on Canvas are just like the actual exams.,
Highly recommend this class. Professor Knight is very knowledgeable and he truly puts in the effort to make sure everyone succeeds in his class. While some material might be slightly confusing, Knight is definitely available to help you understand it.
absolutely amazing professor who definitely loves what he teaches. lectures were easy to understand and there was plenty of supplemental helpful material. one of the best professors i've had hands down!
I really enjoyed taking Dr. Knight's Macro class. He is a very kind and knowledgeable guy and truly provides you with the resources you need to do well. He definitely isn't as witty as Rush, but his lectures are still great and he always answers questions clearly. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend Dr. Knight!
I absolutely LOVED Professor Knight. He explains things amazingly well through not only examples but also storytelling, finding ways to explain economic concepts through normal parts of life. You will definitely need to study for exams, but he provides plenty of materials to help you do that.
If you're between taking this course or ECO 2023, take this course. Professor Knight is an AMAZING lecturer and simplifies complex economic topics. He's super funny and always supplements topics with real-world examples. His exams are incredibly easy and he is never trying to trick you.
Professor Knight makes complex economic concepts easy to grasp. His lectures are full of real-world examples, and the assignments are manageable. unstuckstudy AI was a game-changer for my study prep - alongside the practice tests, it really helped solidify the material.
12 quizes (10-16 questions each) and 3 exams. 3 hours of lectures per week. Watch lectures, take notes, read textbook, and make a good notecard for the exam and this should be a very easy A.
He is personable and is good at teaching. His lectures are kind of long but still informative. Study edge is also helpful but I also think his lectures are maybe a little more. Course is 75% exams (3x25%) and 12 quizzes (25%) weekly and he drops 2 lowest ones. Overall great teacher, however you still need to put in effort and take micro before.
Dr. Knight is awesome. He was really passionate about Macro and was very clear in explanation. I actually thought about some of the stuff I learned in his class randomly and connected course material to other real world observations. He is also extremely accessibly by email. He responded in like 30 minutes to one of my emails. Highly recommend!
Best professor I have had here by far. Teaches in a way that makes the content very easy to understand. Three exams make up 75% of the grade, and I will admit I didn't do too hot on the first two, but having access to past exams and the ability to make a 3x5 notecard with anything you want on it helps. 100% recommend Knight.
Pretty straightforward class. If you watch the lectures and take the quizzes and practice tests, you should do well on exams. The lectures are very clear as well.
Knight is the goat. I did really bad on the first exam but bounced back. Prepare well for the first exam and make sure to use your notecard to the fullest capacity.
Hated the textbook, but Professor Knight's lectures really got me through this class! I got a B but that was my fault. As long as you take notes on both the textbook chapters and his lectures, you'll be fine on the quizzes. The quizzes are important - don't slip on those or your grade will decline quick. Wishing you the best in this class :)
Very knowledgeable about the course. As long as you keep up with lectures and quizzes, the course is an easily attainable A. Lets you have a notecard cheat sheet for exams.
3 Exams worth 25% each and 12 Pearson one-attempt open-note open-book quizzes worth the rest, lowest 2 dropped. The textbook and lectures aren't very information-dense, but everything on the exams is covered in his lectures. The exam average is usually around 80%, which is easily doable if you do the 3 practice exams in Canvas before each test.
I selected participation matters because success in this class really depends on the effort you put forth as a student. To do well, watch the lectures and take the practice exams. They are exactly what you see on exam day.
Lectures are ok. Exams cover material that he does not cover and is not from the textbook either. I had a low grade on exam 1 and could only improve it with study edge.
