His human sexuality course is a must for every college student!

This is a very fun class. I took it at night and never got bored.

test are hard, must teach yourself the material but the class is fun, guest speaker everyday, gives 10 percent of extra credit- easy A

I took him for 1025 and 4975, and I'm signed up for another one of his courses next semester. His tests are not easy, but the classes are all very interesting. Do not take his courses if you are lazy, only if you are truly interested in the subjects.

MUST have self discipline. he has VERY interesting guest speakers. READ READ READ the text books!!! he does not go over what you read, there will be a test on the guest speakers in the end, pay attention to their lifelong problems.nice guy/great humor!

Courtship and Marriage is THE BEST clas I have ever taken. Knox is a good teacher. The speakers he has make the lcass fun. Don't bring your cell phone. You don't even have to pay attention in class... just study his study guide and you should be fine.

Kind of easy, have to do alot of studying to get an A. During each class he teaches for about 15 minutes which make up his Final(note test, very easy). Then a speaker talks and you are always out of there by early.

THis class was boring, the tests were extremely hard, and it was pretty much a waste of my time. He wrote the outdated book in which he expects you to memorize statistics that aren't even true anymore.

I love this class. Very cool teacher. Be or have a speaker. Don't be afraid to get up and talk, the class is very laidback.

Fun class but you have to at least read your chapters to make a C. Speak if you can! You'll need those points!

Dr. Knox is definately the best professor at ECU. Yes, you'll have to study, you will have to work hard, so if you can't be bothered with having to work, then don't take this class. I've taken every class he teaches and have made an A in each one.

This is one of the best classes i have taken at ECU. He is very open to everything. I hardly studied and made A's on all the tests. I don't know why these other people think it was a hard class, it was VERY EASY. Just show up. Everyone needs to take it!

Dr. Knox is one fabulous prof! He is smart, witty, and very cute! He obviously spends lots of time putting his classes together and they are always extremely interesting and entertaining. Much of the research findings he shares are his own!

The class was awesome, if you just paid attention, took notes, and read the book (like you should do for all classes) you should do just fine.

I loved going to class everyday. We watched movies everyday,listened to nice music about love and stuff and got occasional speakers on topics in class. The test involve a lot of reading. Gives extra credit. I believe everyone should take this course, you will not be dissapointed.

The exams require alot of study (hint: read!) but the class contains good info that you'll use in life instead of just junk they make you learn! Great Class...

I enjoyed both classes I took under DR. Knox (Human Sexuality and Marriage and Family). For all who complain, it is likely your own laziness that earned you bad grades. DK offers tons of extra credit; even if you do poorly on exams, you can make a decent grade. This is college get over it and get to work.

Good Class. You should get a good grade if you read and study for the tests. If do poorly, you are being lazy and its your own fault.

Dr. Knox is an awesome professor, and this class is an easy A if you do the study guides and show up to take notes. I did the study guides and looked over the notes every once in a while, and made an A on every test. Anyone who doesn't make a good grade in this class, it's definately their own fault.

Dr. Knox is a great teacher! The tests are hard but if you come to class you will do well. The note test is the hardest, so take good notes in class. There are lots of guest speakers that make the class interesting.

Very educated man, he knows what he's talking about. As long as you read/do the study guide you'll do fine on the tests. You have to have a speaker come in and talk to the class in order to get an A or at least show effort that you tried to get a speaker and he'll give you credit. This class is really interesting and i think he teaches it well.

This is an excellent class that everyone should take at some point because it applies to everyone's life. That being said I will probably make a B when I really thought I would make an A. I know people with Straight As that got a B in his class, make sure you look at your syllabus because he won't even tell you there is a test next class.

Dr. Knox is one of the most caring and sincere professors you will ever have at ECU. He knows what he is talking about because he is a marriage and family therapist. His tests are really easy if you do the study guides. You should take him.

You must attend every single class, and not be late or you loose points. Each class runs the same- he talks about a topic and then a speaker (who the students have to find and arrange to come in) talks about their experience with the topic. Hes a nice guy, and the topics are usually interesting. The tests are hard tho...

I loved the information. Very interesting class but it is hard as hell. The tests are off the study guides which are 100 pages long. He wrote the textbook and the book you read so the tests on the little details. Very smart man and he knows what he talks about. Attendance is mandatory!!! I ended up with a D because I was late and he took off points

I liked going to his class it was never boring. Test are not hard if you do the study guides..you will be fine. DONT miss class he takes a lot of points off for missing class.

This class was probably one of my more interesting for the semester. Dr. Knox keeps his classes interesting and I always enjoyed class. Attendance is not mandatory, but there is a note test at the end so you do the math. I highly suggest this class, easy to pass as long as you do the review guides, which are long but interesting. TAKE THE CLASS!

Dedication is a must! Best techer at ECU! Hard Tester!!!A is almost impossible. MUST GO TO CLASS! He takes off a letter grade for every class you miss. Class was very interesting but tests were hard. Study guides take days to complete (100 pages each)Managed to get a B after taking the class twice. Don't take if you arent going to study ALOT!!!

Class isn't too hard. You have to do the textbook reading because that's what the tests are on, even if you think its a lot of work. He kind of says really sick stuff sometimes but its entertaining. Interesting class.

Love Dr. Knox's classes, not a one that I've taken with him has been boring. Yes, there is a lot required of you, but if you come to class, read the text and *gasp* study, you WILL pass the course. And he's available during office hours and beyond to help you out. He WANTS you to succeed. If you can't pass his course, it's b/c you're lazy, grow up!

If you've taken any of Dr Knox's other courses then you know the drill -come to class, take good notes, have a speaker, do your study guides. If you are dedicated, you will pass! His Human Sexuality course is by far the best one I've taken out of any course at ECU. Never a dull moment! If you are easily shocked, I will say, don't take this class.

dr knox is a really good teacher. he always keeps class interesting and is very clear on what he expects from his students. the study guides for the tests are really long but extremely helpful. the questions on the test come straight off the study guide. and he gives students many opportunities to get extra credit

loved this class!!! so hard, but if you study you'll make 90s on the tests.. the class is so interesting and shocking.. take it but make sure you take the tests on time.

Dr.Knox is a great professor. He uses class time effectively. Classes consist of videos, guest speakers, and even singers. Never a dull moment in this class. Tests are difficult and require studying. No quizzes or homework grades just 5 tests.

Dr. Knox is such an amazing professor. Most of us couldn't wait to see the speaker of the week. You will have to do all of the reading out of your text on your own but the way the study guides are, makes the reading easy because it's all in order. If you do the guides, you should pass with a B or above. Highly recommend him!

Dr. Knox's class is so interesting. There are a few reading assignments and then you take the test online. He gives extra points for taking the test early. Other than the little bit of reading all you have to do is go to class and listen. Lectures, videos and speakers are very entertaining. If you have to take this class take it with Knox

Dr. Knox is easy to talk to and he makes the class easy, all you have to do is go to the lectures and take your tests on time. All tests including final are online. Just make sure you take notes. His class was the only class I made an A in 1st semester, I made nothing over a C in all my other courses TAKE HIM YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Take Dr. Knox! Even if you don't like sociology, this will end up being your favorite class. Attendance is mandatory and will effect your grade, but his expectations are given from the beginning. Study guides ARE long, but I didn't even do them and I got an A. All you have to do is bring up the study guide and use CTRL+F during the test.

Dr. Knox has a system. If you do his study guides, come to class, have a speaker, you will pass. The content of this class is very interesting and the speakers are awesome.

Dr.Knoxs courtship and marriage class was the best class I ever took at ecu. Every class taught me something new. I came from a broken home, I had abusive relationships and just an overall unhealthy view of relationships. This class changed my life. Do yourself a favor and take it! He's wonderful! You will use his advice for the rest of your life.

Dr. Knox is by far my favorite professor at ECU. As long as you do the study guides, you will pass the exams. The questions on the guides are EXACTLY the same as the test. I think this class should be required for freshman to take. Extremely informative and he's very open about everything and is more than willing to help you when you ask! LOVE HIM!

Dr. Knox is a great professor and his class is VERY interesting. The tests are very hard. 50 minutes for 50 questions. He does give a study guide, but they are very long and time consuming. The class doesn't have much to do with the book which makes going fun. Speakers often come talk about real world experiences with the topic we cover that day.

Dr. Knox is the best professor I have ever had! He is great! Honestly, I love the way he has his class set up. I hate classes where professors read out of the book--you can do that at home. Dr. Knox makes the class fun and has real life speakers on the subject! It is not an easy A but definitely take him if you have the chance it is worth it!

Knox is hands-down the best professor at ECU. You definitely need all required course material, and I'd suggest studying for the first test from day one. The day after you finish a test, start studying for the next one. Make sure you take good notes. His tests come directly from the study guide, but the study guides are super long, be prepared.

Absolutely loved this class & Dr. knox ! There's different speakers everyday & the topics are interesting. There's 4 tests, all online but timed. Questions come directly from study guide, but study guides are 10+ pages. Answers are directly from the textbook so there's no reason why you shouldn't do the study guides andor pass the class.

Knox is a great professor and really makes the topics interesting to learn, so definitely go to class because it's an easy attendance grade. The tests are easy as long as you DO THE STUDY GUIDE. They're long, but worth it. I recommend splitting the chapters up between people, because the test questions come directly from the study guide.

Recommend taking this class to EVERYONE. Extremely interesting and can apply it to real life. Almost switched majors because of class. Online tests are hard (taking it with friends helps) need lockdown browser and attendance is mandatory. Gives extra credit speaker points I recommend. All lectures are extremely interesting. Dr. Knox is an incredible professor. His lectures are so interesting, insightful, and useful for your everyday life. The tests are completely based off study guides that are at least 10 pages usually, but if you do a little every day or split it with friends its not so bad. If you work for it, you can DEFINITELY achieve an A. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Very interesting class and one of my favorites!

This was one of the best classes I have ever taken and by far my favorite this semester. I never dreaded going to class and it was always entertaining and I would highly recommend it! You do need to come to class because it is 100 points but it really wasn't an issue. You have two chances for 20 points of extra credit, and there is barely any hw.

This class changed my life! Endless good things to say about Dr. Knox. You need to come to class, but you will want to. It is extremely relevant and entertaining. MUST do (long) study guide to do well on tests, so create & share a google doc w/ the class. Many chances for extra credit. Homework isn't bad at all. Effort gets you an easy A.

Dr. Knox is a great professor! There's lectures and speakers everyday which are usually fun and interesting. All assignments are done online and tests are taken through blackboard. He wrote the textbook so it is essential to the assignments. Attendance is a must and tests are hard but if you listen and take notes there's no reason you wont do well

Dr. Knox is BY FAR my absolute favorite teacher on campus. His class, Courtship and Marriage, is so interesting that you actually will WANT to attend class even when you consider skipping.... he plays lots of videos and all of the lectures are intriguing. Guest speakers come just about every time you meet as a class. he gives several EC options too

No final or midterm, all tests are online. Attendance counts as a test grade, for every class you miss is ten points off, But this class is very interesting so you'll want to come to class everyday. There is online homework, however he gives you like a month to complete each section. He gives you a pretty long study guide, tests are difficult.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! Only class that i've every had perfect attendance in because it was such a joy to be there. Tests are on BB and tough but as long as you have a completed study guide you will do great. I would take this class every semester if i could! Knox is such a cool guy, has awesome stories and is very knowledgable about every topic.

Dr. Knox is one of the best professors that I've at at ECU. My friend told me about this class and I'm really glad I took it. Make sure you attend class because every time you skip you get -10 off your attendance grade which counts as a test, there is plenty of extra credit opportunities! The key to making an A is doing the study guides.

Dr. Knox is the greatest professor ever! He's old but he's hilarious and pretty savage about certain topics. Attendance is a test grade so you have to go to every class unless you want an F for a test grade. Every class is a different interesting topic with a speaker on the topic so it's never boring.

Every class is extremely interesting, so you won't want to miss. 3 online tests, online final, online quizzes on the chapters through Aplia, and attendance is a test grade. Dr. Knox only lectures for about 30 minutes every class, and the rest is taken up by speakers presenting their experiences with the topics discussed that day. Awesome class!

Class is really interesting because everyday there is a different speaker on a topic in. Attendance is mandatory and you can't have cell phones out. You take all the tests and quizzes online. You also need to buy the textbook and the online subscription that goes along with it.

Knox is AMAZING. Hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very knowledgeable in the material he teaches and makes the class very interesting. DO the study guides and you will do well on tests!! If you want, split it up with people! The note test is very easy and should help your grade! Don't forget to do the Aplia quizzes!!

Attendance is mandatory and counted as a test grade, even being seen with your phone out is an automatic -10 pts from your grade. The class is about 30 minutes of lecture and an hour of speakers who share personal experience on the topic of the day (which is really interesting). The tests are HARD if you don't read the text (or find a good quizlet)

I really loved taking Dr. Knox's class. He is very passionate and has a funny sense of humor. His homework and tests were easy in my opinion. He has 15 online homework assignments that are very easy and 4 tests. The tests are online and all of the answers were found on quizlet. This class is a great elective for all students, not just Soc majors.

Professor Knox is one funny guy. I enjoyed coming to class and hearing him speak along with all the other speakers. COME TO CLASS! Otherwise he knocks off 10 points/class. Tests are online and are pretty difficult.

The exams in this class are difficult, and require a lot of textbook reading to ace. That being said, it is worth it for the instruction. The lectures are structures really well, and are really interesting to attend. This class gives you a lot of knowledge about the material, and exposes you to a lot of different lifestyles.

This was one of my favorite classes! The lectures are interesting every day and there is NO WORK other than the tests! Make sure to actually do the study guides if you want an A, quizlets are often wrong for his tests. Wish I could take this class again.

Dr. Knox is a great professor. The subject matter is very interesting. He has 3 text tests which come straight from the book and 1 notes test which is on all the lectures. Each absence is 10 points off your attendance grade which is worth 1 exam. The tests aren't bad but if you plan to skip, do not take this class.

Great professor and you think the class will be easy, but you HAVE to study. His tests are very very intense and you have to study the study guide and have it practically memorized to get an A on the exams. I took him for human sexuality and I learned so many things for the real world. Very smart man and writes his own textbooks. You need the books

I loved professor Knox. He had interesting lectures. His TA (Keely) was horrible i could not stand her. if you showed up a second late, were on your phone, or talk during lecture she will take 10 points off your attendance grade. I am not a soci major but this class was obtainable to my life so i found it interesting.

Dr. Knox is AMAZING! So fun to listen to and has great stories. The tests are difficult but can be taken online and he gives you two weeks to complete them. The attendance is mandatory which is what hurt my grade. The TA takes attendance even though its a class of 250... so stupid. I am taking Dr. Knox again next semester for Human Sexuality.

First part of class is lecture for 30 min, then speakers are brought in on the topic, then watch a video. All topics that are relevant and fun to learn about. Have to go to class because a TA takes attendance. All tests are online and Knox is funny and keeps the class very interesting. Really enjoyed this class

Knox can be hard to hear but sit close and it won't be a problem. His TA Keely takes attendance and WILL mark you if you're absent (10 pts off a test grade). There are 3 online tests that are right out of the study guide (typically 11-13 pages) so buy the textbook and find the answers in there (you have weeks to do both luckily). 20 pts EC offered

I took this class as an elective, but it has probably been my favorite class that I have taken at ECU. The things that Dr. Knox teaches are important life lessons so you actually want to pay attention. He gives out study questions before each exam, complete those and you'll ace the exams!

I took my soci class online and I was easy. But I used the study guide on the test and made 80s and 90s on every test. The TA is really nice and theres not much work in this class

Knox is a good teacher and genuinely wants to now his students. Class is easy there is not much to do except one assignment a week. no lectures which is nice. taken online due to covid

It took me a little while to get used to Dr. Knox and his grading style. He is very thorough in grading, but it is because he genuinely cares about his students. There is one paper, the family autobiography. It is time-consuming but totally worth the effort. Overall, great professor! Taken online due to COVID

This was the easiest class I've ever taken. This class was online so it might be different in person. Either way all you have to do is fill out the study guide and take the tests. If you read the textbook (he wrote it) and answer the study guide its an easy 100. There are also discussions however they are super easy as well.

Professor Knox is one of the most caring professors on the campus. He truly wants all his students to due well. I took this class online and if you are looking for an easy A take this class it is interesting and you can learn a lot of things throughout this course that you may have not known about before.

This was a great class. There is a required textbook and that is what all of the information in the class comes out of but it was actually interesting. He gives you a "study Guide" each week with questions from the textbook which are the same questions that are on the test but you dont have to turn them in.

Dr. Knox Courtship and marriage class was very easy and interesting. There are 7 tests in the class and if you do the weekly study guides (not for a grade) you will do great on the tests. The tests were the majority of the grade but the tests are not hard if you do the study guide. Tests are open book and notes.

You NEED the textbook. The main thing is this class is taking the tests, which are directly from the textbook. There's only like three other assignments outside of the tests & the tests are sooo easy if u just do the study guide. The tests are also on quizlet but it's not as accurate & people who did the guides did better. Don't be lazy, it's easy.

I think everyone in college should take this course. His knowledge is impeccable. Make sure you read the textbook before each test and answer the study guides given. Course work was easy, the tests are tricky. If you don't do the study guides, you will fail.

Easy elective class. The class consisted of 7 tests and two quick discussions. All the test questions can be found in the study guide, just worded differently, so you will need to search around. Study guide answers come straight from the book and can also be found mostly but not fully accurately on Quizlet.

Took his online course of intimate relationships and marriage 1025. Have to buy the textbook. Study guide every 2-3 weeks BUT if you complete it you will get an A on the test. Answers are not online. Totally worth it tho Dr. Knox is great. No quizzes just tests and 2 easy major assignments and the rest tests.Will take another class from him.

I took this course online and he does require you to get a textbook - it is a book he wrote himself and you DO need it, the test questions literally come from his words so you honestly cannot look them up. You can get up to 100 points.7 tests (100 each), 2 Reaction Write Up assignments (300). Extra credit is offered a lot! Definitely recommend.

Professor Knox's class is a great option if you're looking for an easy credit. The tests are straightforward if you complete the study guides, and the textbook is helpful too. I found Unstuckstudy to be a useful supplement alongside the course materials.
