Funny, entertaining, sarcastic, good explanations but doesn't even come close to covering the material he tests on. Difficult to approach for help, often seems to be in a bad mood. Great if you can grasp the material on your own and stay ahead. Tests are fair but require a good deal of prep.

The rudest, most condescending teacher I have ever taken a class with. I think he gets pleasure from making his students feel stupid. He's probably never been with a woman his entire life. Has no idea of teaching, avoid this teacher at any cost

a rude and unhelpful man is understatement for this teacher. he is so condescending and full of himself that it makes coming to class seem like a nightmare. If he didn't like answering questions, why he decided to teach is beyond me. not recommended one bit unless you want to cry the rest of the semester.

Had him for CHEM 211 and 212! Very helpful professor. Spent hours helping students. He is not a bad person, and he is not out to screw you over, but he DEMANDS respect. If you pay him the respect he deserves, he will help you get a good grade. Material is VERY difficult and will make you rethink your degree! Be prepared to study hard, kids.

Taking his class was not bad. Sure he may not be the most approachable teacher (hard to ask questions), but in the lecture he makes it very clear what you need to focus on, and shows where students tend to make mistakes in exams--so you can study more efficiently. You need to study a lot on your own, but if you can, you will do well.

Gen Chem is not hard, but it is very tedious when you HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF because the teacher you paid $$$$ to teach you, could care less to be respectful, available, or professional. If he was more respectful to his students he wouldn't need to make a big deal about it. He makes it personal whether if he helps u/you pass the class. A nightmare.

Kort is an interesting person to say the least. He has a very dry and intelligent sense of humor and likes to mock the world. He is VERY knowledgeable in the field and loves to help students. He even helps you when dealing with HORRIBLE lab instructor. Most people don't like him because of his "rude" sense of humor but I LOVE it. Take him!

Kort is seriously the best teacher ever. He is smart and loves his students. If you're having problems, bring it up and he will do his best to make it easier. His sense of humor keeps chemistry fun. But don't expect him to hand over an A. You should actually try and he will respect you for doing your best. I wont forget him while I'm in grad school

First let me say, PREPARE TO STUDY A LOT AND WORK VERY HARD if you want an A, even a B in this class. With that said, he is a fair professor and will often provide opportunities to improve your grade. He is a bit snarky but you get used to his style of humor/talking. I barely got an A but I studied harder than ever in my entire life. Best chem prof

His exams are pretty difficult but he's a good professor. He's not a friendly person, but he's willing to help students. If you actually want to understand chemistry, take his class.

I was in Dr. Korts honors section, and I personally really liked him. When I listened to his lectures I lost a lot of hope of ever getting an A. However, I didn't depend on the lectures and studied on my own by doing a lot of problems from the back of the book. I ended up getting A's in both 211/212.

Worst teacher I have had. He regurgitates the slides from the textbook publisher, but don't confuse that for teaching. If you take his class you're on you own. I recommend taking someone else if you can.

I had him for Chem 211 and 212. Before rating his teaching, I have to say that he is a very rude person. He makes fun of students who ask questions in class. If you go up to him after class to ask questions, he makes sure that he does not want to be talking to you. I got an A in both of his classes, but I feel that I had to teach myself.

I'm not a science major, but I found his class to be VERY hard. His lectures are literally just flipping through slides from the book. The only reason to go to class is for fear of a pop quiz. He's clearly a lonely guy that complains about his parents and cat. He's rude and sarcastic. He says he's available, but his attitude is very off putting.

He has a great sense of humor. Keeps class interesting by inserting relevant stories throughout lecture, makes it easier to stay focused. It may not seem like it when you listen to him during lectures, but he truly does care about his students. Highly recommend taking his class.

Professor is funny and tried his hardest to keep you awake. Only offered classes Monday nights, and all exams were based off of his previous semesters exams. Would recommend.
