Dr. Kretchmar was a wonderful teacher. You learned new material every day and he made it fun. I think he was good at making sure you knew the material. Overall I enjoyed having him as a teacher.

Dr. K is a great professor! Chemistry ended up being my favorite class of the semester. He's always willing to help and goes out of his way to make sure every student understands the material. Very easy to talk to. I learned a lot about chemistry as well as other random facts once in a while which was cool.

I really like him as a teacher. He gives extra credit on every quiz & exam. The labs are relatively simple & straight-forward. He provides plenty of practice worksheets. He goes over plenty of problems in class too. He's a really great professor. Personally, I see no reason anyone should get below a B.

The topic is challenging, but Dr. Kretchmar is clear and the questions on the exam are reasonable and fair.

At first, Dr. K's personality may come off strong. But if you put the time into his class, he will reward you. He is invested in his students and wants them all to do well. He explains some pretty complex topics in way that's easy to understand. If you go to lecture, take notes, and study, then there is no reason not to succeed. Thanks Dr. K!

Dr. K was a great instructor. Chemistry is not my strongest area, but Dr.K was more than happy to help someone who comes to him for help. He has very accessible office hours. (I'd just suggest writing down a list of your questions, you'll have tons!)The lectures were very accessible online, and were pretty clear.

He is an amazing professor. In high school I struggled with chemistry, but I learned 10 times the amount in his class than I did in a year during high school. He made me work for my A in the class, and I definitely felt that I earned it.

Loved Dr. K I had a conflict with missing some exams and classes and made sure I never skipped a beat. Very caring, makes sure you understand the content. Loved him, definitely recommended!

Phenomenal professor! Came into this course absolutely terrified of chemistry. Dr. K makes learning the material very easy/ understandable. He is a very strict grader, but strives for you to do well, which kept me motivated to study the material. If you put in the time/effort, you should have no problem learning chemistry with Dr. K.

Made a 6 week chemistry course doable but it was challenging. If you do the work and attend the class you will make it through. Dr. K made the class interesting. Be prepared to work hard and only focus on chemistry if you take the shortened version of this class.

I relied more on Google and Dr K for explanations than the textbook. Quizzes reflect how exams are structured. Don't ask a lot of questions in office hours or he'll get a little irritated, but he will help you if you're truly confused. Skipping class is not an option - you'll get lost with the material. Exams are fair. I enjoyed taking this class.

This class is called "nursing chemistry," Dr. Kretchmar skips over the stuff you would only need to know if you were going on to advanced chemistry. Most of the students will never need the in depth topics so he doesn't waste your time. Super available and easy to approach.

Dr. K is very willing to help you if you don't understand a concept or many concepts. He truly wants his students to succeed. He is available almost anytime you need him, if he isn't available in his office then you can call or text him. He also provides plenty of extra credit.I would definitely recommend him! Its a good idea to print off PowerPoints before lecture. His labs are fun and students usually finish early. If you go to class, pay attention, and do most of his optional worksheets you will pass

He is a very good teacher. His tests can be hard but he is willing to help his students. If you go up to his room before any test, he will help you with any problems you have and will make sure you are ready for the test. If you put in the time and read over his powerpoints, you will get an A in his class.

He gives a lot of quizzes, but they are easy if you study, there is always extra credit, and he warns you when they are coming. I hated chemistry before this class but he made it easy to understand.

Dr. Kretchmar was an awesome professor to have! If you dedicate yourself to learning the material in the course you will do excellent. He expects a lot of his students, but it's manageable. I was an incredibly slow test taker and he always allowed me as much time I needed on exams. He also has the best ties I've ever seen!

What a difference this Professor makes! I took an advanced chem class in high school using the same book as in this class, and my grade was much better, as well as my understanding for the material was also present. Although this class may be tougher than another professor, David Kretchmar will give all the help needed for you to understand/pass.

Dr. Kretchmar does a good job of explaining the course material in a way that is easy to understand. He also does a good job of narrowing the course material to include what is specific to and applicable to nursing. Dr. Kretchmar is available to help and does a good job of interacting with students in order for them to succeed.

Dr. K is not an easy A professor. He will make you work for every point, because he believes that we are the next generation of the world that needs to do big things. Incredibly intelligent professor and you will learn a lot in this class. He cares a lot about his students and wants to make sure everyone knows the material without harming their grades. There is about as much work as your average class and if you put in the time you will do well.

One of my favorite professors at Edgewood- grades assignments and tests that day and posts them online so you never have to wait to see your grade. Dr. Kretchmar appears to genuinely care if his students are retaining course material and is available whenever his students need him.

He does very well in explaining the subject, and being able to answer any questions that come up during both lecture and lab. You learn something every lecture and if a topic is difficult, he is available to reach outside of class.

In order to do well in this class, it's very helpful to be present at lecture. However, he is always available outside of class if you need extra help. He doesn't move on to the next thing unless the majority of the class understands. If you personally still do not understand the material he makes himself available to help you understand it.

Dr. K wants you to succeed in his class. He will meet you outside of class to help you gain a better understanding of the material. You don't want to miss too many classes because biochem is a difficult course and he does a good job explaining the material. Quizzes almost every week, but they help with the exams. He is a tough grader but gives you every chance to succeed by giving feedback if you take the time to seek it, being clear with expectations, being available for individual help, and offering tons of extra credit. Dr. K made coming to class a little more exciting than other. Although the material should be complicated Dr. K simplifies it down to what it is, which makes Quizes and Tests a little more bearable. The best thing is that Dr. K pushes you to use your senses to complete a problem yourself. Would definitely take his class again!

Dr. K was one of the best professors that I have had. I only had him for lab, but he made it enjoyable to go. He was always willing to help in and outside of lab, he made time for review sessions for exams, and he was hilarious. From lecturing me on my Bubbl'r water, to talking to me about Christmas, he was hands down my favorite professor.

The course is not "easy" by any means, but he gives you the tools that you need to succeed in his course. I also love that he's a quick grader. After you take your tests, you will know your grade within the next day or two.

The classes are tough subjects, so get ready to do some work, but they are very enjoyable and you will learn a lot of useful information.

He cares more about students learning the subject than grades and I would definitely take another class with him if I could.

Difficult course and requires plenty of studying/asking questions. Very lecture orientated and they go pretty fast. Luckily, Dr.K is accessible and open to questions. He is knowledgeable and gives feedback immediately as he is a very fast grader. The material was interesting and relatable to life. Weekly quizzes were helpful to look at for exams.
