David loves teaching, knows his A&P, and it shows. Take god notes, read, and you'll get what U earn. Be sure to do the lab notebook and histology!

What a wonderful teacher!! Very helpfull, wants his students to be successful. BIOL 430 is a hard class, but Dr. Lagala makes it easy to understand. Students have to put in the study time to be successful. Highly recommend him. Wish all teachers were as GREAT as him.

So much to learn, so little time! However, to take it with a professor who truly cares about his students' success is an honor. He lectures so well and explains so clearly that you don't need to read the book much to get a good grade. This means you must attend class, listen, & study, study, study if you want that A or B.

This is a very hard class but Dr. Lagala helps anyone who wants to succede. He only tests on what he teaches and if you take good notes and study them you will pass easily. You only need the textbook for more indept explinations, not for regular studying. His is the best science teacher I have ever had!

VERY GREAT TEACHER! This is a really hard class, so you have to prepare yourself for that. take good notes, I never used/read the text book.. I used it only for a reference. Definitely would recommend this class! I learned a lot.

Good lectures, and covers the material in depth. I took him for 430, and getting ready to retake him for 431. Tests are fair, but extremely large amount of material to know. Take good lecture notes, and study them..90% of his tests are from lecture. Lab praticals are tricky....overall his tests are fair, and hes very willing to help you.

Tough class, very tough class, Teacher overall is okay, he's slow when talking, but that makes you grasp lots of stuff better, vs someone who would talk real fast. Attendance mandatory or he'll drop you, even if you leave LAB earlier he gets upset. He will try to help if you will bug him about his stuff.

Best teacher I have ever had. He is very clear and compared to other bio. professors he is awsome. He really cares and will help you with anything you need. Exams are off his lectures. Loved his class

Ignore the negative comments about this professor, I took him for both 430 and 431 and he was excellent. He cared deeply about his students' success and was there for those who needed extra help. His lectures were clear and easy to understand and his exams were based on the lectures. Very fair teacher, if you work hard you will succeed in his class

I'm currently taking 430 and 431 will take next semester with him. Student below, it depends when you took him now he teaches deeply. Professor is HARD, but he's helpful, which is a big thing that some professors lack in BIO.

This is a tough class. After all, the human body is quite complicated. Yet, Dr. Lagala is always eager to help if you ask. He always keeps his office hours, and he genuinely cares about the subject. Dr. Lagala is one of the best professors I've ever had. I got an A in 430 & 431. Just simply study thoroughly what he lectures on, and you'll do fine.

I had Dr. Lagala for 430. The subject is difficult, and he is tough. However, this is college, and studying is expected. Don't take this class if you want an easy A. He is very intelligent, if you have questions, ask them. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take him for 431. I missed his intelligence, the teacher I had was nowhere near as good as him.

Ignore the comments that rate this teacher as low quality. I had Dr. Lagala for both BIO 430 and 431. He is a great teacher and I would reccomend him to anyone wannting to take A&P. He definitley prepares you for the health feild programs you want to get into. It's by no means an easy class, but so rewarding once you understand the material.

Amazing teacher! This class is not easy, but Professor Lagala gives you all the information you need to succeed. Take good notes, everything on the tests are in there and ask questions. Lagala is the best teacher if you actually want to learn the material, great for anyone going into the healthcare field.

A&P 430/431 were the most challenging classes I have taken. I feel as though I am walking away from these classes with a thorough knowledge of the material. This class is tough and requires a lot of time and commitment. Professor Lagala taught me how to be a better student and set me up for success!I highly reccomended him if you want to learn.

It's not him thats hard its the subject! Much better than others teachers. No cumulative final. 4 overall big tests. Lecture and lab components. Gives you a study guide. Not easy, be prepared to do the work. You get out what you put in! I would recommend him. Taking him again for 431!

I had him for 430 & 431,know and understand his lectures! Take notes and write down everything he says.There is a tremendous about of information that is expected to be known.Ask questions he is always willing to answer them.Study groups are crucial.He is a very fair man and wants you to learn and be successful.A's are possible-Just STUDY!

Professor Lagala is one of the best professors that I had had. The subject is hard by itself but if you want to learn, he is the best option for doing so. You have to write down everything he says but he won’t trick you. He only tests you based on what he explains. He really loves what he does and knows how to teach the subject.

This is the best teacher I have ever taken. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Read the textbook after the lectures and study a little bit everyday to pass. The final is not accumulative. I HIGHLY recommend Lagala.

I took him for 430& 431. Loved him. The subject is hard, not the teacher. He does his best to prepare you via lectures, study guides, lab time, etc. He answers all questions. No cumulative final..woo!! Not an easy course but no A&P class will be! Study hard, and everyday, and you will be just fine.

Professor Lagala is an extremely helpful and willing to get you passed awesome professor. No BIO class is easy but he seriously makes it very enjoyable and has a great sense of humor. I wish he taught micro!

I like him!! He's funny, he understands and connects with his students well. Of course, you're going to have to put effort into memorizing all the terms and meaning but his class is pretty chill in general and he makes the material easy for you to understand. His lecture notes and lab manual is most important. Focus on those two and you'll be fine.

This is a science course. You're expected to study and actually know the material. Lagala makes things very clear. Write down everything he says and study his lecture notes, learn the lab manual thoroughly and use your book for better understanding. His tests are MC, short answers and fill inidentification. For short answers, be very detailed!

BEST professor yet!! Taking BIO with him will make your life easier. The material is extremely tough. To get A's- record all lecture (don't skip classes) and study them as though your life depended on it. You'll get A's.. He only tests on whats covered in lecture and anatomy that you need to know is listed. Thank me later..

One of the best prof. I've had in a long time. Explains topics well & always open to ?s. It's a tough course but he makes it easier. Will hint at what you need to know for tests so pay attention to lect. Would highly recommend. Tip: Don't fall behind on lab notebook. Take advantage of time in lab to ask ?s/study.

Best prof thus far! Lectures jam packed with info and relative clinical examples to reinforce subject matter. Make use of lab to become familiar with models and posters. Ask lots of questions, he is always willing to answer/clarify. Recording lectures was very helpful for me, picked up on minute tidbits that show up on the exam. I'd take him again!

All the students that left bad reviews were lazy AF. Word Bank? YOU'RE IN COLLEGE! I put in a good amount of time for exams and actually liked Anatomy. I got an A on every exam. I read the text prior to class and recorded lecture. I rewrote the lectures b/c the exams are based on what he lectures on. Super easy class for students that aren't lazy!

One of the best professors I've had in awhile. If you put in the time or even just memorize the lecture notes (great study guide) you'll pass the test easily. It's Bio430 not 100 so it is a bit more difficult be ready to memorize. Don't be lazy (other reviewers) and fall behind.. overall this class was easy and fun! Can't wait to take him for 431!

Record his lectures! Read the text if you don't understand topics, make flashcards. Do what you have to do to understand the concept.. overall its simple and easy memorizing. 4 lecture tests (100 pts each), 4 lab exams (100 pts each), quizzes (10 pts each), HW here and there & lab notebook (90pt). I enjoyed his class, he's super easy to approach.

Excellent professor!! He really wants you to succeed as a student, and is very happy to help you with ANY questions you may have. This class does take a LOT of devotion and don't skip class. RECORD the lectures!! Take good notes!! Make flashcards! Get with a good study group! LOTS of memorizing in this class, but I highly recommend this professor!!

Lagala is amazing and he is crystal clear when it comes to explaining A&P. This is a 5-unit college-level class, so expect it to be hard. His lectures and lab book are your study guide, use them. He gives 6-8 EC points to each exam (8 exams total). Tip: Study a week in advance, especially lab and record his lectures. Memorize and study everything.

Professor Lagala is a great A&P professor. That said, the class still requires a lot of studying to get a good grade. He barely gives any homework, only a few quizzes throughout the semester with a total of eight exams. I learned so much from taking his class, and I would definitely want to take it again.

I took Lagala for A & P. The first semester of anatomy was tough for my as it was my first 5 unit class, however I quickly learned how to study and pass his test! Make sure you record lectures, and write down EVERYTHING! Its amazing to see how he cares about his students & success! I highly recommend him! Great professor!

He is great! He knows what he is doing. You have to study because the class is hard itself. You have to attend to class in order to succeed. He is fair and caring.

Most are taking this class for an A, if thats you Lagala is your man. If you want to have things explained well and understand better, Lagala not your man. He ONLY tests you on what he goes over in lecture. Gives clear study guides from lab. You now exactly what you need to know for exams. This is why he rocks. He is boring and doesnt explain well

I took Dr. Lagala for both BIO430 and 431. He does an amazing job explaining the physiology of each system. To me, BIO430 is heavier on anatomy while BIO431 is heavier on physiology. For BIO431, there is an additional group project and two lab write-ups you have to do. There is more work, but it help cushion the exams if you don't do as well.

4 lecture exams, 4 lab exams. 4-5 HW's/3-4 quizzes total & Lab notebook (easy 100 points). Lectures using overhead projector (old school) & exams exactly from what he lectures. Must go to class to pass. Use lab time wisely (easy to ditch/leave early). Few Extra credit on exam/lab exams but A is achievable with PERSISTENT weekly work. :)

This is a very intense class. I took it along with microbiology (DUMB CHOICE) but passed both with B. He is a good teacher and has the old school style lectures, he still uses projector and hand writes all the notes. I love this since he goes over everything detailed and if you study your lecture notes, the lecture test will be ok. lab was hard.

I loved Professor Lagala. The tests were based off lecture, & lectures were always so interesting! I only used the textbook for homework assignments. His class was the first to actually make me work for my grade. If you study and understand the information, you'll ace the tests. Recommend rewriting lectures! I wish every professor taught like him.

Great instructor. Worth the hour drive to his class. He grades on a 12 pt scale (A 88-100, so on). Overhead projector for lecture, no power point. Offers xtra credit on exams. He goes through material fast so my advice is to record lectures, then transcribe the lecture on your own & study those like crazy. Easy A if u work hard and study everyday.

Took him for both 430/431. This time got an A. WORK HARD AND YOU WILL EARN A GOOD GRADE. study study study. book is not necessary if you take good notes. (Didn't read a single page all year). Professor is helpful. Use lab time wisely and stay caught up on lab book. not a lot of homework/quizzes. Grade is mostly from tests. every test has extra cred

Very knowledgeable professor! He really enjoyed teaching the class and was very, very thorough during lectures. He allowed us to audio record them, which students used to review for the exams. Labs were a bit challenging, but if you keep up to date on your work and take your time examining the models, you can get a good grade. Highly recommended!

Prof. Lagala is an amazing teacher and I would 100% take him again. He does his lectures by writing out the info instead of power points. Which is very helpful because he pulls out all the info you really need to study. Its a very hard class, with only 4 exams and little homework. But he is very willing to work with you and wants you to succeed!

Professor Lagala is a great Professor. He genuinely cares about you doing well in his class, in fact for one of our exams he gave us an extension due to a group of us explaining that we felt we were not ready to take the exam. His exams are pretty tough.. but if you study enough you should be okay. Exams are based on his lecture and labs :D

Dr. Lagala is super nice, and I'd for sure recommend him! The exams are difficult, but it's A&P so thats to be expected. I loved his lecture style because he goes through everything on a virtual whiteboard rather than just a slideshow. If you keep up on the homework thats only assigned 5-6 times, and the lab notebook you'll be fine!

Lectures are pre-recorded to watch on your own time. Lab is technically not mandatory but the 3d models are on exams. Keep up with lab notebook. Textbooks not necessary to get A's on the exam. 4 Exams, some homework, and your lab notebook make your grade. If you study and put in the time, getting A's and B's is easy. Took this class with Microbio.

Dr. David Lagala truly loves what he does as a teacher. He loves teaching a&p and he makes the class super fun!! His lab book helps a lot if you do it before your lab exams. His lecture notes are heaven sent use them and his lectures are straightforward. Definitely a class that you will get what you put in!! He's so sweet and caring.

BEST PROF! Lagala truly cares about his students & preparing them for nursing/further education. He is very knowledgable, kind, and willing to help. Study and KNOW everything on the study guides (in back of lab manual) and use the models in lab to KNOW all anatomy listed in lab manual. Rarely hmwk. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Lagala!

Involves 2 group projects. Buying the textbook, atlas, etc, not necessary to get an A. Focus on lecture video material + lab manual. More laid back that 430, but still challenging. You focus more on physiology instead of anatomy like 430. Love Professor Lagala! Difficult exams, but not impossible. Requires critical thinking vs. memorization.
