Dave knows Access! He has a great balance of humor in his class. This makes it so much easier to listen to the dull subject matter of Access. This also made it easier to keep coming to a 3.5 hour class on Friday nights!

Dave provided an insightful background to database design, laced with humor in his approach to a difficult subject, and not having the best suited text book.

I had been recommending Mr. Larabee to students for Access for the past couple years, based on what I heard from IAs, other students, and what I knew of the various intstructors. Now, I am glad that I can recommend him from personal experience as well.

One of the best professors I have had in my academic career (20 years of education). I thoroughly enjoyed his real world approach to problem solving and I enjoyed his teaching style. Very eager to make sure his students understand the material.

Great Guy... I took CISA 320 from him before and he is really helpful. Its fun to be in his class, good collection of funny movies. Learned alot from his class. Totally clear with his assignments and explains them really well.

If you want to learn database this is the instructor. Not particularly the easiest class, but you will know something when you get out. Does a huge amount of preparation work and is willing to assist you if you need help.

I like his class. Every time I have any question, he is always be there to answer and help me. I'd recommend everybody should take his class.

I found the class very informative and the instructor was quick to respond to any questions I had. The only thing I didn't like was that there was questions on the final and in some of the midterm tests that were not covered in our book.

I found this class to be very easy. If you follow the book you will Ace the class.

Took it online, and had some trouble with actual scenarios. I contacted him, and he walked me through it. ALso, for the final, there was an error when I sent it via email, and he still accepted the 2nd submission of the final without a penalty. if your situation is real he is very understanding.

Class was good. I could have done better if I read more. I only took the class because I had to, but I actually did learn some things.

After taking several classes with Mr. Larabee, I can say confidently than he's an excellent teacher. He treats the subject matter with praticality and an effort to apply real-world standards; projects and finals are similar to what one would expect in a work enviroment. Personally, he tries to relate to his students with humor and honesty.

This class was pretty easy for me, though I don't understand how the ease of the class makes a difference in the quality of a teacher. Anyway I'd have to say he's a very good teacher.

Professor Larabee was very easy to follow and it was an on-line class. I will be taking another class with him in the fall on-line.

Didn't like on-line as much as sitting in the classroom. Dave has EXCELLENT sense of humor which makes learning more fun, miss it with on-line class. Access is hard to learn on-line, but Dave EXTREMELY helpful! His lab techs are very helpful too! Take his class, you'll enjoy it!

This was the best on-line class I've had. No mandatory (and meaningless) on-line discussion groups, and no required on-campus orientation if you successfully completed the on-line orientation. Good direction and very quick feedback. And, I learned quite a bit too!

Awesome teacher. Encourages a relaxed atmosphere. There are 2 oral presentations using powerpoint, but teacher makes you very comfortable! It was actually FUN?!

Take the online assessments 3 times before you take the quiz, you'll have all the answers. Follow directions EXACTLY or get a D or F on homework. No thanks.

Mos def one of the coolest teachers @ ARC. Laid back, but to the point. Power Point was actually fun and you can actually be creative at the same time. Overall, a great class. Highly recommended.

With a GREAT teaching style, Mr. Larabee is widely knowledgable and able to put difficult concepts into perspective . His fantastic humor is never lost to pointless comedy but wraps around the examples/lectures in a way that makes the material less stressful to absorb. I would jump at the opportunity to take another class of his.

Dave is a good on-line teacher. Responsive, clear, and fair. He is firm with deadlines- a real asset for those who live in the real world! If you want to learn PowerPoint on line, I'd recommend Dave's class as a way to learn!

Took him for both CISA 320 & 315. Easy classes. He a great guy and he's funny. His instructions can be a little unclear at times but you can ask and he'll answer any question you have.

Hybrid Access 2007 Intro class, Enjoyed the lectures as online work tends to put me to sleep :) The key is he teaches you what they don't teach in the books, you get his experience and real world concepts. The 4 week summer format was perfect, fit right in with my busy work and family life.

Professor Larabee was an entertaining teacher. Video clips = awesome idea. First few classes were for pppl who never used access before (pretty much) so I was bored. Last assignment was hard, but his grading system made it so where it didn't even affect me. LOVED his grading system! Good class and teacher overall :)

He is good and knowledgable about subject. Grades fairly easy if he sees that you are putting effort into being there and effort into the work.

Good job administrating this class. Excellent online resources and examples in class. Prompt responses to emails. His style of teaching is humorous. Grading may be a bit lenient.

I thought, this class is too hard for me, but Dave Larabee is a great teacher, and he makes this class easy and fun.

He made good use of combo lecture, in class exercises, textbook and online instruction. Good sense of humor. CISA 320 class was graded a bit too easy; 321 was more difficult. The end of year project covered all aspects of Access and was very good barometer of skills.

Prof Larabe has a great sense of humor, and really knows the subject matter. Very interactive with his students, It was fun to prepare powerpoint presentations in CISA 340 class. Only two units, but a short class and a skill that is really needed today.

Prof Larabee really makes learning powerpoint fun. He not only teaches the textbook stuff such as how to navigate through the program but also more importantly teaches the more artistic side of powerpoint. Bottom line really great guy fun class and you will learn powerpoint like no one else.

This teacher is really nice and easy. As long as you do the work you will pass with at least a B.

Dave Larabee injected good humor into this class which helped to ease the tension with this subject. Would have liked to work more from the book and not bothered with Online Learning. Tests were not truly book oriented either (some unstudied SQL stuff). I'm going to study on my own for awhile and retake. Larabee is very approachable and helpful.

Professor Larabee is a real professional, very knowledgeable, very funny and full of real life experiences. This class was my first real computer class and I'm very inspired that I am pursuing the field as far as my brains take me. Thank you very much for the experience, Mr. Larabee.

I like this class because there is no test at all. I also like the online expert videos. If u attend the lectures and keep up with the class's assignments and labs (turn them in in time), u will have an A.

Mr. Larabee has a no nonsense approach to the class: work and you will pass; screw off - it's no skin off his nose. He was helpful in most cases, a little arrogant in others. I liked his videos - it kept the class atmosphere high. Good job overall.

I really like the online capability of the class. It works great for working students who cannot attend class every night. I would prefer he did not post the grades for everyone to see, even if he uses student numbers, because that information should be private to each student.

Dave is just great! Fantastic sense of humor and makes learning fun. You need to work, but you really learn. (that's why you are in school, right????!!!!)

Fully online class. You must do everything in the book, watch the OnlineExpert videos to understand the material. His syllabus, lab directions and moodle page have many spelling and grammar errors, but just push past it. If you show you are applying yourself, he will help you. If you feel uncomfortable, seek help from Rm 152 (lab - ask for Paul).

The instructions for the assignments were clear and contained many helpful hints and tutorials. Keep up with the work, do the assignments on time and you will do well. I recommend the class.

I took on-line class. First two labs were easy to understand, But, the third one and final were difficult.

This teacher was great :) very entertaining and easy to follow.

He knows his material. He's a tough grader. Some of the assignments can be very challenging but I also learned a lot by muddling through. Sometimes I felt like I already needed to have been an expert Access user to get a good grade.

Great professor!!! Took his online CISA 320, while it was not an easy class (for me), teacher was very helpful. Does not have a textbook, only an access code from Sim-net. I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot. Got an A+, but you do have to work for it and if you don't understand something ask him, he is very helpful.

I enjoyed this class, Professor Larabee was an interesting teacher. I learned how to use excel and just how powerful a tool it is.

Nice teacher.

The material is difficult to understand if you have no experience in Access. He explains the material on YouTube and explains how to do certain things on Moodle. Make sure to do work each week and you will be fine.

This class was super easy for me, my only complaint is that I asked if I could work ahead, just so I didn't have to worry about doing this with all my other classes during finals week and he said no. ;-)

This was my first online class. I was very worried. But to my surprise the class was very easily instructed, with many reminders. Just read your emails.

Loved this class! Everything was clear! No late works accepted. Drops your lowest grade. You really learn how to use excel.

I took this class mainly to learn how to build a database at work. I learned so much ,,, I really can't express how much you will learn but it will definitely be through discovery. There was not a lot of instruction in class -- just enough to give you the basics. But the assignments taught you so much with a lot of real world experience.
