excellent teacher, wants the students to do well. He provides notes on each chapter and old exams. He does have an accent however you get use to it and he is really nice.
Very easy and impossible to fail
Nice guy! Just study the lecture notes and handouts you'll ace the course.
i love this dude, so nice, so easy, and tried to give good marks to students. hard to understand his English, but who cares if u get A.
EASY!!! Midterm and Final were a breaze, accent can be a bit thick at times but you get used to it fairly quickly. Lectures can seem long at times though...
Really nice guy but a little hard to understand because of his accent. Wants students to do well.
He is a good person
great prof, kinda hard to understand but has really ez exams and tests
Nicest guy i ever had as prof. EASY TESTS AND EXAM. Can barely understand him in class and its really boring but his handouts are good. Once again EASY MARKER and EASY TESTS! Take this course with Dave unless he becomes mean over night
Very nice guy, his notes are very clear, easy to understand, and helpful
Nice guy and all, but not very knowledgeable. Just teaches the material in the book. I can read just fine dumbass.
He marks so easy on everyone, but he can't teach. Take him if you want an A. I never had a teacher that marks so easy.
Very nice guy. Provides students with notes to his lectures and recommends practice questions before exams. He has strong accent, but if you try to follow along in lecture, study his notes, follow his recommendations, and do your work, you will get an A/A+.
very nice professor, easy marker! Maybe hard to understand sometimes but he gives out really detailed notes and practice questions every class. As long as you study the questions, you will get an A.
Dr. Lee is the best prof I ever had. Just show up to class and follow is lecture you will do very well. It will take a lecture or two do learn how to follow him. He is the best! Go Korea!
He's a great prof. His notes and lectures r excellent. He cares and wants his students to do well...bitter profs can learn a thing or two from him!
The course is not easy but he takes his time in explaining.I would not rank the course as easy, although it may seem that way.Perhaps we are used to arrogant professors who make unfair tests thats why some people may rank his tests as easy.If you study you will have a good response while with oher professors sometimes studying is not a plus.
Difficult course, many graphs.Excelent professor,he is not lazy,he draws graphs and uses blackboard to post problems.
good prof. you should have him!! You can get good marks.
very caring
easy, 1 word,
Nice prof..very friendly and explains very well..not easy but as long as u do all the question he assigns u will do pretty good.
good prof, i like him !
He's smart and nice but Impossible to understand. Don't take this class unless you already know the material.
Nice guy, very easy.
This guy was fun. He was easy, has previous tests/exams u can practise from. He's understanding if u were sick etc. Good guy.
such a good prof...very smart very genuine and it was a pleasure taking many courses with him....highly recommended
Extremely difficult class... skip one and u might as well drop it. Very hard to understand.... but does give online notes/test nd such. Unless u like econ....stay away
Dr. Lee is just the sweetest, most wonderful professor Ryerson ever hired! He is smart, helpful, funny and very understanding if you have any problems. He is very generous with grading. He deserves all the good things life has to offer. We need to nominate him for Professor of the Year. Take him if you can - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! =]
This prof is one of the easiest I have ever had ... all you need to do is do the reading each week ... pay attention in class and make good notes. For the midterm and finals focus on the problems and question he has suggested as well as the past midterms and finals he provides ... this was the first class I got an A+ in and it was a easy one.
David Lee is an amazing professor. He outlines the specific problems to know for the exams. He also posts previous exams to help his students. The class does have alot of information to know, but just go to class, take good notes, and study accordingly. I ended up with an A+. I would definitely take another class with him!
I had him for both ECN606 and ECN815. This should be a guaranteed 'A' for anyone, as Lee's midterms and exams are questions straight out of his notes and his problem sets (literally word for word). Minimal studying is required.
Easy but hard to understand, good notes, a lot of math, practise his notes/online past exams, and there's your A. Take as many courses as you can with him!
A really good prof, I will take more courses with him.
3 words...BEST. PROF. EVER. Take as many courses as you possibly can with him! Unless you try really really hard, I don't know how anyone in any of his classes can end up with anything less than an A+!
HE IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! easy A+!! he is an easy marker, got full marks for both of his assignments. he gives you lots of tips on the final exam. just study his tips and here's your A+!!!
This prof seems to be interested in seeing students succeed and in having them develop an interest in economics. However, is a very poor teacher. Just read the text and work through the assigned problems. Would not recommend if you are interested in having an engaging teacher or if you are actually interested in the subject matter.
Do not take this prof if you are interested in learning anything about economics, or if you want to continue taking future economics classes. He is easy but you won't learn much.
David is a nice guy. His lectures are good in that he gives a lot of worked out problems. However, you have to listen extra attentively to understand him. I would not call his exams easy, its just that he is a good marker. He works hard meaning no multiple choice.
Awsome Prof all the way. Hes available after class and office hours. I didn't buy the textbook. I just go to class and ask questions, and study his notes and I did really good =] A+

Enjoyed this class and the notes he gives are great. The tests are straightforward and there are no surprises. If you want a good mark in the class you have to attend and take notes.
he is awesome!!he truly cares about students understanding. He is hard to understand but his tests are really easy. Sometimes the questions are exactly the same as examples from the textbook. I didn't go to much of his lectures and missed out on an easy A.
Honestly people need to remember THIS IS A UNIVERSITY COURSE, he is easy all you have to do is go to class listen careful to what he says and add to the notes already given and your guranteed an A. No textbook needed and you dont have to put a hard effort in. Great Class great Prof easy A
best prof i ever had, very helpful lectures are very usefull.Great proff strongly recommed
He teaches QMS 202 on friday and he's useless. You cant even understand what he's saying..its like he's talking to himself. i would recommend you dont take him for QMS 202.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
You cannot understand ANYTHING he says. He wants you to do well but seriously, what's the point if he can't speak english.
DO NOT TAKE FOR QMS!! Can not understand a single word he says.
Took course online. Assignments are fairly challenging, especially the later ones. Professor Lee is a very easy grader and gives marks for reasoning and knowledge rather than simply correct answers. Seemed like a nice guy when I met him for the final. Very hard to understand as English is not his first language.
What can I say about him. Great prof! He got some accents and his writing might take some time to get use to but overall great guy. His midterms are very straight forward just study the notes and assignments and you will do fine. Just make sure you attend the class to take notes cause he doesn't use textbook at all.
He has an accent but a lot of people in class were rude and were talking over him which made it even harder to understand. He literally tells you what is going to be on the test. I was suprised at how rude some students are when they see a foreign prof with a accent.
EASY TESTS BUT WHOLE CLASS CANNOT UNDERSTAND! use his slides and documents and read textbook very easy otherwise!
Nice guy but not the best teacher with his accent
this prof can not teach at all...!!!
Hard to understand, gives a lot of examples in class but is arrogant when asked a question he thinks you should know already. For homework, he basically assigns the whole chapters questions. Doesn't really care about the students, I wouldnt reccomend him to anyone. went into exam with an A left with a C.
He is disorganized, can't draw students' attention.Everyone interrupts him and you can't hear anything. His notes for the class are useless, you have to study all the material by yourself only through reading the book, going to lectures is useless too.He gets confused about what he says and makes mistakes,he can't correct them either.Has heavy accent.
Extremely easy marker! However, not clear at all. Take this class to get a high mark only if you can teach yourself.
He is not the best explainer, but he does tell us exactly what is on the midterm/exam. Some people in my class failed to understand what was on the exam/midterms, but if you listen and do the exams/midterm questions, you'll get a good mark at the end of the day.
Follow his notes and available practice questions carefully as he bases it off them. Generally easy marker up to the 60% then the rest is dependent on how well you know the material. His accent is somewhat hard to understand (easy if you read material ahead of time) but better than some other profs. Definitely would recommend for any class!
Very good prof, can be a little difficult to understand, but actually wants you to get a good mark, does plenty of sample problems and test review - Highly recommend attending all classes, especially the class before a test/exam
This prof is really nice and a very fair marker. If you disagree with the way he marked and you tell him then he is good about changing things. Sometimes hard to understand but as all Asian profs you can understand fine after a few classes. I would recommend if you wanna learn stats well and want a high mark.
Best Prof ever! Definitely one of the best in the department.
The best economics professor ever, does his best in helping his students to succeed.
Hard 2 understand because of accent but u get use to it. His 2midterms were very fair. Final was very hard&long. Writing hard 2 understand.Great reviews 4 all exams.Gives tips in class 4 exams.1 of the only profs at Ryerson who actually cares about his students.Nice and caring guy.Shows calculator steps 4 u.Overall I would definitely recommend him.
He has an accent that no one will understand, but he always posts up reviews for test which are very similar to exams and are very useful. The class is really boring.
he seems like a nice guy but honestly you won't understand a single word this man says!!if you're the type that study on their own and do well on the exam then his class is for you but if you'r paying for an INSTRUCTOR to teach you the material then AVOID!
very nice and easy. he actually cares about his students. everything from his exams are from his practice questions. his accent makes it tough to understand him. just scim through the text & read his notes and you'll be fine. ended with an A
He's a nice guy and a fair marker. You can't slack off, but if you put in the work you'll get a good mark.
Fair assignments, helpful communication.
Great Prof, it's David Lee, what more can you ask for?!?
Very straightforward class. Simply pay attention to his mock tests as they will be a good indication of what is actually going to be tested. As this was an online course, there is limited to say. The work was minimal at best giving you lots of free time. The board discussion marks aren't that bad either as they do not require much time commitment.
He cares about his students. Midterm/exam questions were straight from his notes/textbook. Never thought I would get an A in math but I DID.
He's a little difficult to understand, but you'll kind of get used to it. Make sure you understand his online notes well and show up to class to get the answers to them. Do textbook questions to become familiar with your calculator. His notes are his midterms and exam, so really understand the step-by-step processes of each chapter!
The professor wasn't clear, is not friendly, and did not care for his students. Never replied to any email that was sent. Overall disappointing
The material for intermediate macro ii is fairly straightforward, read the book, show up, and learn the models. The key to this course are his lecture notes and the practise tests. You can tell he also loves to talk about history which is nice because it puts things in context. Lee is a stand up professor and you would be lucky to have him.
Great Prof. David Lee always replies to emails, and the exam and assignment were very fair. It isn't hard to do well, as long as you put in the time and effort to study the practice questions before the exam. Make sure you study and know all the practice questions inside and out before the exam and you will do well. Great prof.
Apart from his accent he wasn't clear and enthusiastic while teaching. His lectures seem easy but it doesn't prepare you for the final exam at all.
Great professor. Teaches well and easy tests and exams.
Very nice and friendly professor! Always replies to emails, cares for his students. Also he posts notes online, which are very useful for studying.
Professor Lee is very hard to understand because of his accent. However, this class doesn't really need a professor because the textbook is very good at explaining everything. He provides excellent test samples that are very similar to his actual tests. Promptly replies to e-mails as well. All around good prof
Part-time professor from York Uni. Fairly easy subject for anyone who has a background in economics, otherwise you are screwed. He seems to have enough knowledge to deliver the subject but, he has brutally bad oral communication with lack of devotion to students and the lectures.
Took this in the summer and it wasn't too bad. 2 quizzes, 2 midterms and a final. Class was useless though as I didn't understand a thing he said due to his thick accent. He gets frustrated easily but he's a nice guy. Quizzes were also on the midterm so that helped but it is pretty hard if economics is not your strength. Self teach or get a tutor.
This was really bad .. Don't take this as an elective with him! I used to really like economics but after taking econ with him, never again. He marks really hard, can't teach, and did not make econ enjoyable to learn at all. Don't take this as an elective. He is also arrogant in class.
