Easy and good teaching, but be careful with his multiple choice questions. That's a little trick.
A great history teacher who knows his subject extremely well. Very concise and to the point in his lectures.
smart, smart, smart! so will you be if you take him! K, so he's a tad bald, but the unbelievable back view is worth looking at! look over notes every week & you will get an A. papers not scarry. better than any other H teacher @ LBCC
good professor
I've taken him twice. thorough lectures, don't have to read text book! But he does assign other readings-but they're interesting. a couple of 2 page out of class essays-no problem
Fascinating teacher, Awesome Lecturer. Makes learning history interesting and draws you in. Tests alway consist of essays but he gives you the essay question a week before! GREAT Teacher!
TEACHER IS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD A LOT OF READING BUT ITS DEFINITELY A PASSABLE CLASS WITH AN A. IF YOU STUDY HARD AND TAKE GOOD NOTES YOUR ALMOST GUARANTEED TO GET AN A HES VERY KOO AND LAID BACK I GOT A C BUT I DIDNT STUDY HAD ENOUGH SO I COULD'VE GOTTEN AN A.
easy A, laid back, active.
He knows his subject well and you can tell he loves teaching history. He makes learning history enjoyable and easy to understand and he tells you exactly what will be on his tests. It doesn't get any easier than that. Lehman is a very easy-going teacher, I highly recommend him!!
He loves history so much and gets so excited when he's teaching I thought he had a hard on a couple of times. Easy A. Skinny textbook that's easy to read. Funny teacher.
He's really easy and cool, but REALLY REALLY boring. Then again it depends if you're a history person. Plus if you're taking summer session 2+ hours of lecture is almost unbearable. Easy A, though multiple choice on tests are a bit tricky. Essays are easy.

He loves history so much that he makes it fun to learn!
Great professor. Really passionate about his subject. Two essays which are easy and exams are pretty basic. Not a cake walk class but if you do all the readings you'll get an A. No reading and you'll probably end up with a B. Doesn't keep grade up to date so you really have no idea where you are in the class.
boring but easy
"Oh my gosh...he is so boring...thats all. But I have to admit...he does know his stuff..."
He is an excellent professor. The class is pretty easy
Very easy class. all lecture. the tests are not difficult.
Great speaker and very knowlegdeable. He helps you think more critically. He's just an awesome instructor. He's doesn have hgih demands from students so two exams, one essay and a final. For each exam and the final he give three question with one being the question the the test. How nice is that!!!
this class is alright i guess. but why i did so poorly? i'm not a history person but if i was this would have been super easy but i barely reads the books and take notes but its easy. he's alright
He makes the class much more interesting and less hectic than it probably would have been. His lectures are well detailed and he gives review sheets for each test. There's also a written paper near the end of the course but he tells you exactly what he's looking for and expects on it. Overall a great teacher and interesting class.
So nice, and really into history. 2 papers 3 tests a prompt and a study guide for everything, if you answer the questions that he asks then you will be fine. I totally recommend taking his class, anyone who says different are the people who will probably be at LBCC 10 years from now
Great teacher!! Very nice. Teaches with outlines so you should attend class everyday to take notes. This class wasn't hard at all. A teacher you should definitely take.
Class is interesting, and easy. You just have to keep up with the reading and attend class, everything else is a piece of cake. Highly recommended.
this class is really easy and helpful. You have 2 midterms (essays) and 3 exams. He even gives you study guides, so that you would have a sense on what the exam would be on. Its important that you attend class everyday and read the textbook that is given, cause most of his exams are based on his lectures. I highly recommend this class. =]
The class can be a bit dry, but not too bad. Dr. Lehman is a great teacher though and very nice and helpful. He'll even let you submit rough drafts on essays and give you feedback. His tests are forward with his reviews. I was happy with him.
It is hard not get a good grade in his class; he gives us all we need in order to get an A, it is on us to take adventage of it and prepare for the tests. Great professor, highly recommended!!
Professor Lehman is an excellent teacher. even though history is usually boring, he made the class quite interesting. he is very clear in his teachings and knows his stuff. his tests are very straight forward and you can get an easy A with some studying. i would definately recommend him if you need to get a history class out of the way.
Great teacher! He is very interested in history and very helpful if you need help. Easy class with 3 midterms that he gives you the study guide for and no homework. You have to write 3 or 4 essays but just use the notes and its easy. Go to lecture because it helps for the tests.
Dr. Lehaman is the best history proffesor I had at LBCC so far. 4 Exams and 2 papers. Not bad. tell hitory like a story, not boring at all. Hes a great person and will answer any questions you have. very helpfull, Take Dr. Lehman!
OMG i seriously love this man. this is my second semester with him in a row and i wish i could take more classes with him. he is so easy and so clear... he is perfection personified! pretty cute too.
This is the best history professor i have had in all my life.Ive always hated history but he has a gd passion for it which makes you pay attention. He doesnt like tardey students but will help you whenever you need it no matter what. -Vatorie
This was the first history class I've ever taken where the instructor shows an interest in the subject! His class is an easy A. If one is willing to attend and take notes, and ask him if help or clarification is needed, passing the class is an easy task.
take this class. One of the best at LBCC. Dont miss class to much it could mean the diffrence bewtewn a B and c in the class. Really good teacher and loves history. Knows alot about U.S history, not boring at all. None one can faill his class.
Dr. Lehman is a great history teacher. i thought history was boring before i took his class. he is very knowledgable and easy to understand. if you have to get a history out of the way to transfer, take him. its an easy A as long as you take good notes and study.
OMG-- DR. LEHMAN WAS A GREEAT PROFESSOR!! HE LOVESSS HISTORY, HE KNOWS HIS STUFF! I BELIEVE THERE WERE 3TESTS, STUDY GUIDES: 3ESSAY QS, HE CHOOSES 2 ON THE TEST DAY, U CHOOSE FROM ONE OF THEM, LIST OF KEY TERMS WHERE THE 25MULTIPLE CHOICE COME FROM! TAKE GOOD NOTES! EZ CLASS!!
Wonderful teacher. take notes and attend class regularly. easy A.
Dr. Lehman is an awesome guy, and his lectures are very interesting, you can tell he loves what he is doing, and he is very helpful. Tests are essay format. Go to every class and take good notes.
I took him as a team taught class with Wallech. I like Lehman a lot better. He's very passionate. Good history teacher.
THE TEACHER: Dr. Lehman is one of best history teacher I've ever learned from, and hands down, the BEST American History teacher I ever had. He is intelligent, well spoken, clear and concise, and above all, passionate in his teaching. THE CLASS: YOU MUST READ FROM THE TEXTBOOK, but it's easy, excellent reading! 3 total exams with essays. Worth it!
I wish I would have applied myself much more in his class. I did not study didn't read and still managed to get a C. I know if would have actually put my heart in it would have gotten an A. He's a great teacher, very nice, history rocks and so does he. You watch awesome videos and the test are a breeze if you study. He's a joy!
10 0ut of 10! I highly recommend him! One of the few professors who makes it particularly easy to learn from, yes you will have to read a book on history, but it's a decent read and he makes it easy to hone in on what is important. I would take him for any class he offers!!!
Great teacher! His lectures are interesting and his exams are easy take home essays. I took him for Humanities and he taught along with Wallech in a team taught class. I find his lectures to be more interesting as he provides students with visual aids and external excerpts to give student a better understanding. He replies to emails promptly.
There are three exams and two term papers for this class. Dr. Lehman is passionate and very organized with his lecture notes. Everyone says he's an easy 'A'. Not true it will require some effort!!! Overall he's one of the best professor at LBCC.
Best history teacher ever! TAKE HIM. He likes history and makes it very interesting. Book is interesting, notes and lectures are interesting, tests and final are no surprises as long as you put in a little effort. Great guy too. You won't be sorry. I would take any class he taught.
This was an enjoyable class. You learn so much & getting a good grade is completly managable. The tests are based on lectures. Also, he offers extra credit.
Great teacher. Very organized. Starts class with the lecture outlined on the board to be covered. Assigns two papers. Exams are in-class essays based on one of three prompts that he hands out in advance. So, either hope you studied for the correct prompt, or study enough to cover any one of the prompts. He allowed class to choose 2 prompts once.
He knows what he is talking about! if i had read the text i probably would have gotten an A. the essays are very straight forward he just wants to know you understand.
One of the best history teachers ever! very passionate about his work and it shows. Get the book and READ the book and you will do fine. He outlines every class on the board and take good notes. Tests have essay question, not hard if you put in some effort. Overall a great experience
He is a very chill guy but i must say he has a very boring teaching style. It is very hard not to fall asleep in his class and I actually love school. If history is boring to you I would not recommend him because you will dread coming to class. But overall he is a fair guy and grades fairly according to your test scores. just try an stay awake :-)
Good guy, ok class and teacher. Outlined notes on the board plus study guides at least a week before the test.
Really enjoyed class! He is very passionate about US history. Has very oragnized lecturesnotes that are very informative. 3 in -class 2 take home essays. Exams are not open book but he gives you prompts before hand. I would make outlines to prepare and always got A's on essays. Pretty easy grader, everything is in his notes. will take again!
HORRIBLE TEACHER. HIS LECTURES ARE BORING AF! HE IS BASICALLY TEACHING TO HIMSELF. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER! IF YOU DONT WRITE WHAT HE WOULDVE THOUGHT YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL. HIS STUDY GUIDES DONT HELP. HE DOESNT LIKE QUESTIONS. I HAVE TO RETAKE THIS CLASS NOW! RATEMYPROFESSOR FAILED ME ON THIS ONE BE CAREFUL!
Dr. Lehman is an excellent instructor. He loves the subject matter. I recommend him to both majors and non-majors.
Very easy class especially if you can write a somewhat decent essay. Three tests and two papers but he is an extremely easy grader. Received an A on both my papers even though they were filled with mistakes. Each test is about 25 questions long multiple choice; with a short essay response at the end that is worth about 60% of your test score.
He is a great professor. I wish he taught History 11H.
Dr. Lehman is a wonderful professor. He is very passionate about History and is always prompt and organized. I enjoy hearing his perspective during lectures. Take him for History 11!
He's a nice guy and knows what he is talking about. The only problem is that he is super boring! i would literally fall asleep in class and i am a straight A student. Going to his class hard because i knew i gonna be super bored! Thats why i a withdrew. but he is a good teacher, but the type of teacher i was looking for History
Take Professor David Lehman. He's so passionate about history and his lectures are not boring, they're actually very informative. He's friendly and funny at times. Easy A, no textbook necessary, just take good notes. He also posts the outlines/notes online if you missed a day. Don't miss his class, he takes attendance. Take Professor Lehman!
Unbelievably well organized lectures , very interesting, Professor Lehman knows his history and makes it interesting! He also is the Professor for Honors history so you know you're getting a high quality educator! 2 essays, 3 exams with an essay, fair grading! TAKE HIS COURSE!!!!
He's so nice&explains American history so passionately that you'll understand the material. 3 exams/2 essays that are 2-3 pages long. Exams include multiple choice&essay question. Gives u a study guide w/ terms & 3 essay questions;2/3 questions will be on exam. I didn't read the entire book & passed w/ a B. Use the study guide you'll be fine&Study
Most people were bored of his long lectures but I found them quite informational! Tests are not bad if you STUDY and if you PREPARE for your essays. 'A' grade is not handed to you, you earn it. Don't be afraid to approach him after class, for advice on how to improve your work. By the end of the semester, you definitely have learned a lot!
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. I wish every professor cared about their students as much as Professor Lehman. He writes all of his notes on the board and goes over them with you to help you understand. Gives study guides, extra credit, and good papers. Amazing.
Dr. Lehman is really passionate about history, his notes are very clear and well organized. 3 essays but you only have to do two of them. 3 tests, study your class notes and you should be good. overall, his class was not bad just be prepared for a lot of note taking.
Lectures whole class but not monotone, provides notes on board, 2 of 3 HW essays required, 3 tests (40 multiple choice, 1 essay question) study guide has 3 potential essay questions and 2 are on the test to choose from. Prepare and do well on the essays and you will do well in the class. Great at explaining the info so you understand it well.
Riveting! Explains why historical events were important and how they led to now. Mostly lectures with some slides and videos. Assigns 3 essays, you choose 2. Has 3 exams, 25 multiple choice and 1 essay question. Clear study guides with possible essay questions given ahead of time. If you want to learn history AND pass a class, take his class.
Dr. Lehman is a reputable professor who not only knows his material but is passionate about teaching it. Lectures aren't off the computer yet well-organized and easy to follow. Course has 3 short papers and 3 exams (multiple choice & essay question) with no homework. Do your readings and you're good. Also, he is lenient with due dates&emails back!
I came in to Professor Lehman's class thinking it was going to be easy peasy (and an easy A). However, he definitely makes you work hard to earn your A. I found that I didn't really use the book and relied heavily on my notes. I would say that attendance is very important for your grade since you aren't graded on much. Overall, good class.
I'm not a history buff so I was concerned going into this class. Its lecture heavy but Dr. Lehman keeps it going. Attendance isn't 100% necessary but he's very interactive and it helps when learning the material. Exams are multiple choice and essay question. Know the material and you won't have a problem
this teacher is pretty amazing. I mean lets be real its a history class so it was very bland and boring but he teaches very good he gives you everything you need to pass the class early like study guides and writing prompts early. his teaching is amazing and its not bad that he looks like the dad from GETOUT. lol
he's simply amazing one of the best history teachers. 3 papers but you only have to do 2 . 3 exams and you're done. the only thing I didn't like was you have to read. but if you come to class everyday and take notes and study his study guide and try to focus more on the essay part on the exam you really don't need to read the book
AMAZING lectures. Lehman is a gem of a professor. He is passionate and knows the material. His lectures are engaging, NOT BORING. Just read the chapters, show up and take notes on what he lectures. Theres a couple essays but they're easy, he just wants to make sure you understand the content. If you can, def take this professor
Very nice prof! He really cares about his students and what he teaches. He covers a lot of work every class, so make sure you go. Tests are pretty tough if you don't study.
Really good professor, he makes everything clear for tests and papers. His tests are easy too, you have an essay every test, but he tells you the topics ahead of time. Attendance is mandatory though, he will drop you if you don't show up 3 times. Other than that he's great. Definitely take him
Really Great Professor. No Homework, Just 3 Exams and 3 essays (1 optional essay).
Dr. Lehman was an amazing professor. His lectures were very engaging and he showed photos of historical people, places, maps and documents during lectures which were very helpful. You will have to write 3 papers but the outlines are very clear. He is the dean of the history department so history majors you should take him!!
Good teacher. Go to class and take good notes and you should be fine. Test are better easy and he gives study guides for the test. Not too much homework. You have write a least 2 papers, the third one is optional. I went to class each time and did the first two papers, got an A on those papers so I didnt do the last one. Got an A in the class.
Lehman is a great professor. He is passionate about history and his lectures can be a bit boring, but he gives out so much valuable information so it's in your best interest to pay attention! His exams and essay prompts were straight forward and he explains what is expected of you very well. He's the best history professor at LBCC by far!
Boring but very informational. The notes during class are very broad and short. Be sure to read the textbook because his notes arent close to enough for test studying. His study guides arent even study guides, just terms to be familiar with. Read textbook and youll be fine. Only 3 essays to do
Dr. Lehman is great! This was my first history class and looking back on it, he's one of the best instructors on campus. I highly recommend!
i did not like this professor at all, his lectures are boring and he doesnt seem to be engaged. He talks all class time and their is no communication between teacher and student. i wouldnt take him if i were you.
Professor Lehman made this class from a nightmare to an easy dream. He makes things simple and straightforward. You have a total of 3 papers but you only have to write two. You will also take 4 exams but he does give you a study guide and the essay questions in advance. Very good professor. He wants students to pass his class.
Amazing professor. I'm not very good at history overall, but he teaches so much more than just remembering dates. He gives amazing insights to the previous history that everyone should learn!! Super interesting class. 3 papers and 3 exams. Study the lecture guides and take your own notes, if you put in good effort you will do good in his class!
Great History teacher, he really knows his stuff! This class made me love history! A lot of reading and video lectures, some quizzes and a few essays.
Professor Lehman provides excellent feedback for essays, and his tests are straight forward (As long as you study!). Seriously, he isn't trying to trip you up; he provides study guides as well as lecture guides with all the material you need to get an A in his class. P.S. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. P.P.S. buy the book!
honestly recommend taking this course! you have discussion posts, sometimes based off the readings while others are based off of documentaries. the essays were always explained in great detail with a video to help one better understand the given prompt. he provides lecture guides for each module which were very helpful to me!
I learned so much in this class. Professor was so helpful and caring about his students, even tho it was an online class. He is very organized with lots of notes, guidelines and videos to watch. If, you just do the work and participate you'll do great. I highly recommend this professor.
I would love to take another class with Professor Lehman. He is an amazing lecturer as well as a very caring and friendly teacher. He gave great feedback on essays that you write to give you more context on the part of history that we were learning at the time. Kind of sad the semester is over.
