i say take his class it is hard not to like.

Very interesting. Comes up w/ funny examples. Got an A & don't understand why others are failing. Takes attendance. X-credit if you present essay to the class. Not hard though it's a logic class--lots of common sense. Will have have to memorize fallacies, etc. enough to recognize them in arguments.

Mr. Lopez is a great teacher for the most part, but he has a big ego. I recieved an A and cracked to book twice. Don't miss class or leave during a lecture unless you would like an example made of you. Also, speak up in class, he will appretiate what you have to say, and like you more for doing so.

Dr. Lopez is an outstanding professor. He gives you everything you need to know for quizes and tests during his lectures. It is sad to see how some people can get below a B in his classes. I have taken Phil 320 & 310 and going to take 350, and I'm not a Phil major. He uses funny examples that you will remember for tests. Go to class and pass!

This class is a fun and interesting class to take, especially if you want to learn about Philosophy without having to write a lot of essays and that sort of thing. There are no essays, only notes from the lectures in class, which are entertaining and thought-provoking. You don't need the book, and he is a great teacher. Take it and have fun!

i have taken all his classes so far, except the one i am finishing up with this semester. i went in knowing a little about the subjects. i low the conversations he involves the classes in, and he writes everything on the board. he takes time to clarify a point if you ask. tests are easy if you take notes and are awake.

Lopez is a good professor. Makes a slightly confusing subject seem quite simple, and if you come to class regularly and take good notes, you should have no problem with an A. The BEST teacher. Not only is he clear with what he expects of you in his class, he does a full review before each test, and makes sure you grasp the concepts by reviewing each one multiple times. Book is not necessary but will help you out in your notes/studies. Lopez does great job explaining his lectures and ideas. Class will get boring, BUT DONT SLEEP, OTHER HW, OR USE YOUR CELL PHONE. Make sure to study well before quizes, test, and final and you should pass easily.

He explains everything very clearly and allows alot of input from students. Also, all the notes he gives are suffiecient enough to study for the tests.

Fantastic teacher. NOT boring. This is the first philosophy class i've ever taken and found dr. lopez VERY interesting. He obviously cares very much about philosophy, and is very accomodating to students' needs (e.g. make-up tests, etc.) Very friendly, funny, and easy if you show up and take notes. DON'T BUY THE BOOK! You absolutely don't need it.

This class can be boring but he has a good sense of humor that pops up at least a couple times per lecture. There's not a ton of homework which is a plus. My biggest complaint is that he is very unorganized and takes everything on a day by day basis which is fine until it comes to tests and quizzes. He also reminds me of Ted the lawyer from Scrubs.

He's a caring and insightful teacher that has something to say. We didn't need the book (though he said he might be using it more next semester), and his tests and quizes are directly from lecture notes. Tests are easy if you go over notes before, and make sure to look at your notes before each class real quick because he may have a pop quiz.

Didn't use the textbook at all. This class was pretty easy, just take good notes and review them for 5 minutes before class. Lopez knows his stuff and gives interesting, fluid arguments and molds them to fit students' interactions. Making abstract concepts understandable is difficult but he manages to do it regularly. Take this class!

You have to study the notes he gives to get an A but it is not difficult. He is a good teacher. I took this as my easy class of 16 units, and im glad I did. There are no suprises on exam.

Even though this class is easy, you really do learn a lot. Go to class (you get one freebie), write down everything he writes on the board, don't buy the book and just look up the reading assignments online, and just look over your notes before quizzes and test and you'll get an A. He reminds me of Kramer because of his slur and stutter. :)

Five unexcused absences will cost you a full letter grade, but coming to class everyday makes this a very easy class. You'll only be tested on lecture material, so the textbook is not mandatory; I got an A without it. No homework or writing assignments. Dr. Lopez is there merely to present the material, so don't expect any philosophical discussion.

Ethics was interesting with Lopez because I actually learned a lot from his lectures and debates during class. It's important to write down everything he writes on the board. He allows you to drop one of your lowest exam scores. I wouldn't say this class is easy just because there is no hwk. Your grade is strictly based on tests and attendance.

Mr. Lopez taught this class very well. He knows a lot about ethics. Note-taking is required to pass if not then your skrewed unless you are a good listener. The class is easy to most people cuz there's no homework at all, but some readings on the textbook. I wouldn't say its easy though. Your grade in class is based on tests and attendance alone.

This class was one of the most interesting courses I have ever taken, and not easy by a long-shot! Make sure you take notes in this class. They will definitely be used for tests. He also gives credit for attendance, so my advice is do not miss any classes.

Professor Lopez makes philosophy at least mildly entertaining. Do not take his class if you are easily offended. He has a dark sense of humor, which I love. All you need is: A functioning brain + pencil/paper. Notes are you're number one priority, memorizing is second. Quizzes/Tests are easy if you commit your memory to your notes. I went into Mr. Lopez's Class excited to learn about Ethics. At first I didn't like the class. But it really grew on me as did the teacher himself. It's pretty simple to pass his class. Just go in, right the main stuff on the board, memorize it, and you can wing it all. The quizzes are basically the tests and he drops the lowest quiz. 4 exams 4 quizzes, book used once for a quiz. He can linger off subject some times and be a drag, but hell an A is an A.

Lopez is the man! Very passionate about the subject, and even after a 10 hour day at school, I enjoyed coming to his class. No book required, just write down his lecture notes and listen in class and look over your notes once a week and it's an easy A. I took professor Lopez for phil 320 he was a great professor and very passionate! He really cares for us. Attendance is mandatory other you lose 10% of your grade. There is a paper due on everything we have learned and can get extra credit for presenting it. He uses some funny examples and is upto date with the gossip world which helps us remember.

If you have a good grasp on common sense and any kind of reasoning skills and an open mind this class is an easy pass with minimal effort. Pr. Lopez is both informative and entertaining and does not hesitate to call out students for poor reasoning skills but is quick to give helpful advice afterwards.

Very easy to get an A in Lopez's class. All the tests were based off of the lectures in class, just copy down what he writes on the board and study that. He is one of the best professors I've ever had. I actually want to major in philosophy now. He's very smart, really knows his stuff, and will help you understand anything and everything. He tells you exactly what is on the tests. Just take notes and study them a little before the test and you got an A. Would love to take him again!

Lopez is a pretty dope guy. He HATES when you are on you cell phone or doing other homework in class, but you usually get out like 20-30 min early. 4 tests, 4 quizzes. Easy A's if you take notes and causally look over them before the test. Class is a little confusing at some parts though, but nothing to complicated.

Amazing teacher

all around great teacher. straight forward material, hard to fail his class. everything he lectures about and the material given is exactly what he tests you on. gives points for participation. loved his class. also, he is really funny keeps you awake.

I love this professor and I would definitely take him again! Show up to each class and take good notes. I didnt have to open my textbook because everything he mentions during the lectures covers everything for the quizzes and exams. There are 4 quizzes and 4 exams no assignments. Your lowest quiz score gets thrown out.

Professor Lopez is a good professor. He makes class simple and easy. In class, you need to take note carefully. Quiz and exam base on that. He will condense and summary the important points. Remeber that you will get a good grade.

My favorite professor ever. I love his sense of humor, and his dorky examples makes it so easy to memorize everything for the class. He will call you out in front of the class and shut you down if you try to challenge him, which I find hilarious. One of the smartest people I've ever met, I wish I could take this class over and over. Takes notes!!

Professor Lopez is awesome. Definitely take him in his philosophy classes. There is no outside class work. He tells you everything you need to know for the tests and quizzes, which is the only grades in the class. Every single class was let out 30 minutes early or more. You won't regret taking him if you just go to class and take notes. Easy.

Professor Lopez is the TRUTH. He cares for his students and will review the course material before the quiz/tests. Dude has a sense of humor and class usually ends at least 30-40 mins before the actual end time. Hell make note of what will be on the test so write it down. If he repeats himself, write it down. Be respectful when it comes to phones

Lopez is the BOMB. He is SUPER passionate and knows Philosophy like the back of his hand. His lectures are the KEY to the tests. He will tell you and review with you the day before the test. I recommend you use voice recording, a laptop or some kind of device if you take notes slowly. All tests are in class and guaranteed an easy A if you study!!!!

Took Prof. Lopez during the summer. Everything that he tested the class on was from the notes. He gave quizzes and examples that are very similar to the midterm and final. The book was not needed since his notes detailed everything. Class revolved around a presentation or essay & 2 exams & quizzes (drops lowest). He expects you to attend class.

One of the easiest classes/professor combo at ARC. I'm not a morning person but I took this class in the morning, showed up, aced all the tests and got out of there with the easiest A ever. Each test took me 10 minutes. There aren't any extra bs, Lopez gives you everything you need for the exams, plus he's a genuinely hilarious guy so there's that.

Lopez is great. He's funny and isn't afraid to speak his mind. This is an extremely easy class (logic) which I highly recommend. There are 4 multiple choice exams, 4 quizzes and presentation. He goes over the information so many times that there's no way of not passing; attend class and take some notes and you're sure to get an A.

Prof. Lopez is great! His Phil300 consists of 4 quizzes an 4 exams. Attendance does not count against you. His lectures are fun, and he'll sum up his lengthy power-points to help you understand the criteria for note taking. I'm also taking him for Phil320 next semester! If you want an easy A, take his class!

Professor Lopez is my favorite professor at ARC. Do yourself a favor and take his course. You will definitely not regret it. He is so inspirational and so kind! I wish I could take all of his classes. Love him so much.

Great professor! Everything in the exams is from the powerpoint slides. You are only graded on quizzes and exams, but he drops the lowest quiz and does reviews before every quiz and exam. His lectures are engaging! Easy A.
