This class would have been interesting if it wouldn't have been for the prof. He would go on and on about the unvierse, but NONE OF IT WOULD EVER BE ON THE EXAMS. I would have been better off taking rocks for jocks.

He is a very hard teacher. Rambles on about nonsense. Take a different professor such as Prosper for a more textual class, Lind does tons of Math problems which are confusing.
not good!
Lind is one of few teachers who really cares about what he teaches, and has a genuine interest in pratically every topic. He will go well out of his way to make any example, and 'enjoys' covering many topics in more detail than needed for the exam. Many students complain about this...just know this class will be interesting if you are interested.
Really cares about his students, unfortunately he doesn't know what he's doing. Really intelligent, but lectures are so boring that you're focusing on the walls verses what he's saying. Yet, if you are one to like boringness and can figure out math problems when you aren't taught them... take this guys class, you'll like it.
awesome teacher
Mumbles and goes back and forth between topics. Knows his stuff, but doesn't know how to teach it.
This is a VERY interesting class if you can be interested...but painfully boring at times. I suggest the summer session, he even told us we had it wayyy easier. However he does give pop quizzes. Very smart professor...not great at teaching.
Very disorganized professor. Our class was always at least a lecture behind when we had a quiz. Interesting demonstrations, but not helpful at all with the calculations for the class. Would often schedule a office visit with him and he would not show up. Avoid taking his class if you can!
yeah well i surely didnt pass because i didnt take the final. i never understood him, he cant teach very well and i had him for the first class he decided to NOT test us on Kappa based problems. He just can't teach very well at all, and doesnt work problems in class, which sucks for me cause i suck at math. Dont recommend him, sorry. Good luck
Disorganized and incompetent as a teacher. Has other people write his exams and when asked to do a problem in class sometimes can't do it. Wastes time with five or six "demos" per class that often don't work and never help with the material. One of the worst profs at FSU. Avoid him.
This teacher is disorganized, not helpful for recitation, and is extremely unclear of what he aspects from his students for quizzes and final exam. The only entertaining thing about class in the in-class demos and watching poor students giving hit by flying objects. The class is "do-able" but it will be painful.
Definitely not the easiest class or the best teacher. Demonstrations are interesting but help little when it comes to understanding the concepts/ideas. The best way to understand the material is to learn it and not just remember it. The book is your best friend next to the professor who isn't that helpful and gets irritated when you ask him ?'s.

Had him for two semesters because nobody else was teaching the class I was required to take. You're lucky if he manages to finish a sentence during lectures. Doesn't show up for office hour appointments. Won't answer questions or gives vague answers. Adversarial toward students. Shouldn't be allowed to teach.
horrible,horrible....i thought it would be an easy class but yet i have no clue what he's talking about half of the class- and in the middle of a lecture he'll make something explode for no reason...Wierd and unhelpful, doesn't explain the math problems and the class is not a breeze..avoid him, avoid the class take baby bio.
The first day of class you could see the disappointment on everyones face. I heard bad things about Dr. Lind but NOTHING can prepare you for this guy! He has absolutely no personality, very mean, not helpful at all (He will also embarrass you in class if you ask a "Stupid" question) He definitely does not care if you pass or fail!
Good professor, always willing to answer questions, excited about astronomy. He was pretty funny too and had some cool demonstrations.
okay im not going to lie this class wasn't the easiest class to take but it definitely is possible to do well. i highly reccomend getting a study group together to study for the miniexams and final. it helps a lot to practice and practice the capa problems that will make up pretty much all of your tests. the book isnt too helpful.
Lind loves to show experiments in class. Go to class only if you want PRS extracredit points. Otherwise just do the capa problems and know them for the miniexams! Also know the focused problems for the miniexam. I never went to class because he is soooooooo boring!!!!!!!!
He soesn't seem to care about his students. Do all the chapter summaries and PRS questions. Study the loncapa for the mini exams. A's are possible if you study and do the extra credit. Lecture is horribly bland.
Yes the class is a lot of work but come on! This is Physics II we are talking about! I was expecting to do a lot more for this class than I did! Honestly I just read the chapters and memorized some problems in the book and CAPA to do well. He curves insanely. Just make sure to do the CAPA homework, do well in your lab and you will be fine with B's
Dr. Lind loves to show experiments, and its a nice break from the lecture. The astronomy class was great beccause we got to watch tons of movies in the planetarium. He curves everything which is nice. But you really have to study. Its a great class to take.
fsu pre med has the worst possible teachers thanks for making my experience horrible. I am paying for the class to get my degree if you dont want to teach leave!
Horrible professor. The in-class demos are cool, but not relevant to the material at all. He hardly ever works out problems in class and the TA's don't have enough time to do his job during recitation. Lectures are useless, except for the PRS points. Worst science teacher I've had in 3 years.
How it works: Lecture twice a week, recitation (with another professor) once a week. Recitation is very helpful, lecture wasn't really that helpful. He's not mean, but very particular. In general very helpful, helps students who help themselves...just do loncapa (not that bad) and book problems...can't get lower than a B+
Wow.. ok he doesnt respond to emails( unprofessional) his ta's are not helpul, the tests are mixed so you can never predict what is on the exam, his lectures are not helpul not 1 %, teach the**** to your self.. what a joke.your payin fsu your time and money for this... lollol
He's not a bad guy, though he can be a jerk about certain things. He does a decent job of explaining the general concepts in lecture, but runs behind the LonCapa. He doesn't teach any problem solving, which is 90% of the class. So you have to do your capa and learn in recitation. Alot of easy points with Capa and Lab so its not too bad.
Dr Lind is not a good teacher. The only time you might learn is during Friday recitations but you are still required to go to his class bc of PRS. His tests are kind of spotty as well. Sometimes they are directly related to the material you learn and other times they are completely in left field If you have him just hunker down for a stressful year
He acts the same way he does in 2053. This man is so irritating and useless how the hell did they make him the head of the physics dept. Do the professors underneath him know he is jackass!!!!? During a miniexam he yells like a little 2 yr old who just got his money stolen. Don't take this SOB!!!
Run as fast and as far away as you can. Hands down worst teacher I've had all 4 years. I don't understand how a teacher can be so rude/terrible and still be employed! Worthless
Horrible Professor. Started going to Zach at TZ. His green packets have helped a lot. Went from F to B b/c of him.
TZ saved me this semester. He talked trash about it all semester but in the end Zach is the man!
WORST Prof. at FSU! Not concise during lecture and very disorganized. Very particular about responses to exams(points are taken off if you don't write down redundant info). I hear there is a heavy curve but it sucks to rely on one because the test are poorly costructed. Its never his fault even when the whole class misinterprets his questions.
Not clear about what he wants from his student or the material he is teaching.
Not particularly helpful.
Very hard class and he is not willing to help you
If you are looking for a professional, well organized, and helpful professor then I suggest that you keep looking. He actually stated verbally that it is not his job to teach the students. I have had some bad professors before but Lind has managed to blow away the competition for taking the worst professor award. I highly recommend Matri instead.
WORST TEACHER EVER without question, does not teach a single thing or know how to for that matter. You have to teach everything to yourself or pay for outside tutoring. He needs to be fired...DO NOT take him!
Knows A LOT about Astronomy. His father was in NASA and went to space. His neighbor went to the Moon. The class is very interesting and cool, you get to visit the planetarium a lot. Dr. Lind knows his stuff for sure, but sometimes he is dull and moves through his lessons fast. But overall id DEFINITELY recommend this class :)
He's not that bad physics just sucks in general. It's hard and if you have him or matri it won't make a difference because the same quizzes are given by both teachers. Attendance is extra credit so that's the only reason to go and the experiments he does are cool.
Claims attendance is mandatory and will give iclicker questions for attendance each class - he forgot most of the time. Lectures were boring and had nothing to do with the tests. Memorize practice tests and homework questions and you can make it okay. Uses a lot of recycled questions.
Dr. Lind is an extremely nice guy. He is always willing to work with students and doesn't want to see anyone fail. All his test are curved to help students. He does go fast and test are difficult, but overall an awesome professor who loves his job.
Knows his astronomy. Held random iClicker quizzes for attendance. He went off topic sometimes during lectures, but it always was to enrich our learning experience. Many people didn't bother coming to class, so they missed it. I enjoyed this class, and would definitely recommend this. Did I mention he's an Eagle Scout?
Ok, so he isn't a great teacher. He's WAY better than Dr. Crede for sure. He has a built in curve, but doesn't curve any more than that at the end. Tutoring Zone saved me in this class, for real. Lectures are useless, but he takes attendance so I just fb'd and Pinterested the whole time. GET THE TUTORING ZONE PACKETS. They will save your grade!
The tests are hard and the class is not an easy A. However, he is very helpful if you visit his office hours. Really nice guy who wants to see everyone do well. thumbs up
Dr.Lind is knowledgeable but his lectures are difficult to follow. This class sounds easy, but it is very difficult and it is much more than just studying stars and planets. This class has a heavy physics and mathematics component. I worked pretty hard for a B.
this guy really loves his astronomy and his job. he made the class extremely interesting. i learned a lot and love astronomy now because of this guy. his class isn't easy though. he offers iclicker points and his lectures are hard to follow sometimes. if you take solid notes and go to every class then you should do fine
This was an EXTREMELY hard class. You will do well if you study hard for all of the tests. There are a lot of points involved, like homework, extra credit, tests, quizzes, etc. If you take this, I recommend going to see him during office hours every week.
Dr. Lind was great! I took him for PHY 2053C and without a doubt decided to take him for 2054C. He really cares about his students and gives good examples during class.
Rudest professor I have ever met! Do not ever go to his office hour to ask questions/points back on a quiz because he will yell at you and make you cry. Shows no compassion for students and if you ask him a question on the quiz, he will straight up insult you on getting the problem wrong. He makes you hate physics and college all together!
His tests were an easy A if you study, make sure to show up to class for iClicker points
Took him for physics 1&2. He understands this class is for nonphysics majors so there is a curve at the end but you still have to try by showing up to class for clicker points, do all of the homework and prelabs. If hes not your recitation instructor go to his room because he tells you what will be on the test. Study practice tests and you'll pass.
Don't listen to anyone writing negative comments. I personally hate and don't understand physics but Professor Lind is awesome. No matter who you take physics will always be hard but Lind tells you exactly what you should know and does not want you to fail. Very sweet professor :)
I was really nervous to take physics because I had heard how difficult it was over the years, but Dr. Lind is awesome. He knows that most people in his class are not interested in physics and find it very difficult, so he is really helpful and tells you what to focus on. Great in office hours. He gives extra credit iclicker points so go to class!
Go to class for the iclicker points it could change your final grade a lot. Do all the homework and labs you will pass the class. He wants you to pass and is very nice if you go for help.
Didn't learn a thing all semester. Lind's a nice guy, but all he does is read off of the slides. The mini exams were always give or take. Only went to class for iclicker points, which will make a big difference with your final grade!
Compared to the other Physics professors, Prof. Lind is amazing. He explains the material in the most helpful way to prepare you for every exam. Read the book and go to class and you will pass with a little bruises along the way.
You can tell Dr. Lind really loves Physics. He is great. I won't have the greatest final grade due to my own lack of effort to go to class. But, the class itself is highly passable.
The physics department at Florida State is the biggest mess I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The exams are technically on the concepts covered, but they make them brain teasers and puzzles that are not representative of the practice work. So they are overly difficult vs what you practice. Lind is nice guy, but an awful instructor.
Lind was the worst professor I have ever had. Lecture was a joke, I only went for iClicker points. You have biweekly mini exams which are your entire grade. The mini exams were 3 questions at most and were so tricky. They never tested what you knew. Overall stay away from this professor and this class. Nothing will prepare you for the tests.
Not the best professor. Lectures were all over the place, slides were too wordy and confusing, but he gives iclicker points so attend. Biweekly quizzes that were almost impossible to pass, because they were way harder than the hw or extra problems he gave.
I never listened to one lecture but attended every class for the clicker points. Make sure to do all skoolers before quizzes which looked nothing like the homework. For the love of god study for the final. the quizzes are tough because they are normally practical application but final is easier. had a 77 quiz average but a 90 on the final
This man claims he wants you to learn physics but won't help you when you go to his office hours. Quizzes are impossible to study for, get skoolers otherwise you have no chance. His powerpoints in class are all over the place and difficult to follow. The only thing that saved my grade was lab and the curve. This man made me hate physics.
Went to the class for clickers but never listened to a word that man said. Get Skoolers! Also, study hard for the final because it is easier than the actual quizzes. His mini quizzes are like riddles but he drops one and lab is only 10% of your grade. Theres HW and the JIT questions due every Sunday are just annoying. Physics department needs help.
I learned more from the Skoolers packets than I did during his lectures, but he's not the worst professor. He explains things much better in his office hours than he does in class. The overall course grade isn't based JUST on the mini-exams, so there's plenty of room to fail a few and still do well in the class.
Dr. Lind is enthusiastic about the subject and is very knowledgable, I just think the material and pace at which it is taught is the issue. He's probably the best professor you can take from the department (from what I've heard since he's the only one I've had PHY with). Small group recitation work is really helpful if you come prepared.
Dr. Lind is a great professor. It is clear that he knows what he is doing. He does lecture a lot and in a class like this lecturing is not very helpful if it is not followed by doing example problems but if you go to him he will work with you. The class is already difficult as is but it is not something that you cannot get through if you practice.
While it is clear Lind knows his stuff, he isn't able to articulate it to students particularly well. He also was rude to students during lecture in front of everyone several times for simply asking questions. He also only teaches the theory and leaves 30 seconds for problems, which is what the test is made of. Take someone else if possible.
Physics is a notoriously hard course, and Lind's way of teaching wasn't for me. He reads off of crowded powerpoints that explain concepts, but doesn't give examples of problems (which are what the tests consist of). Homework, labs, and recitation will help boost your grade, but each are a decent amount of work.
Took him for both physics 1 and 2. BUY SKOOLERS. I don't know how people pass the class without it. Never paid attention in class and got A's in both 1 and 2 just from doing skoolers. He's powerpoints are sooooo messy.
Professor Lind is okay. Physics is really problem based and they give you zero practice problems similar to the test problems. Buy Skoolers! This class is definitely passable without it, but if you want a good grade I would buy the whole thing.
Dr. Lind is a pretty good professor for the FSU physics department. He relies heavily on the reef polling app for class participation and I recommend showing up to class to help boost your grade at the end of the year. Highly recommend the Skoolers packet to help in addition to his exam review problems. Stay on top of due dates and you'll be fine.
I can't believe this class is approved by the physics department every semester. The material itself is fine, the exams are fine but the entire class is so disorganized and the professor and TA's blame YOU for their misdoings. It's so disorganized it really ends up affecting your performance on exams. Also lind yells at students for no reason.
Lind is incredibly disrespectful towards his students. His way of communicating during class is rude and unhelpful and through the entire semester he never responded to any of my emails. He could not care less about his students and is generally a bad teacher. He is eager to fail students with no feedback or explanation.
Dr. Lind is a great professor. His lectures are a bit confusing but if you go to his office hours he will help. He has a lot of resources available for practice like the Recitations and mini example problems. Physics isn't an easy subject but he's the best physics professors at fsu
Test's are fair but you must study. GET SKOOLERS his slides are unorganized and chaotic. No idea what my grade is as nothing is entered into canvas other then exam grades. He doesn't answer questions on zoom. Dont bother emailing him. Labs are graded extremely harsh.
Does not go by the syllabus and changes how everything is graded as he wants. He said we would get extra credit at the beginning of the semester for reading warmups and then changed his mind. The REEF questions are impossible. Skoolers is your best bet. His exams aren't terrible but the time limit makes it very hard to finish.
The best way to do well in this class is to review the material before it's being taught. I bought skoolers and would do the chapter prior to recitation. The lectures are confusing if you have not seen the material yet but if do it like this you will retain much more and receive better lab and recitation grades. Exams aren't easy so don't cram
Get Skoolers for this class because without it you will do pretty badly. He does not teach well and the slides are the most messiest things I have ever seen. Tests are pretty hard. Labs can be graded hardly depending on your TA. This class was horrible and sadly I have to take physics 2 next semester.
Lind is very nice but lectures are hard to follow. iClicker questions are very hard and tricky. Only way I passed this class was Skoolers. Recitations and labs are super frustrating and long. Final is SUPER HARD. Studied so hard and barely passed.
Probably the rudest professor that I've ever met. I saw him first-hand scream in a student's face for asking a question. The lecture is hard to understand, recitations are alright, labs aren't that hard. iClicker is impossible to get right. Use skoolers and learn physics that way and you should be able to pass. I solely used skoolers and passed.
He honestly isn't as bad as people make him seem. Skoolers definitely helps for sure but reviewing chapters before recitation and doing practice problems is sufficient to get at least a B. This is because the recitation, lab, participation, homework, and extra credit make up a good portion of your grade so you have room to do not very well on exams
Dr. Lind isn't the absolute worst or the best he's just meh. The class itself is very hard and he does a bad job explaining concepts in his lectures. The recitations kinda sucked cause they were really hard questions and were graded. The TA would stay with one group or student almost the entire class even though other people had their hands up.
Physics is hard. Lind really isn't that bad and he really wants to help. If you put in the work and do his practice problems you will be okay. Tests really not difficult.
Got an A but only cause of Skoolers. Made people with COVID come to class to take the final exam and does not answer any emails. There's so much more but just don't do it. If you do, invest in Skoolers.
He's really the worst. PowerPoints are ridiculously confusing, he can be very rude at times and he never answers emails. I failed every test BUT passed all the homework, warm ups, recitations, and participated in the iclickers so I still managed to pass. The class is very passable with with skoolers! I could've studied harder, subject isnt too bad.
Physics with Lind was mid. Lectures were mostly unnecessary, but had iclicker attendance worth 3-5% of our grade. Although I wasn't a fan of his teaching, he curves everything to ~70% and exams weren't the worse. If you go through his practice material for exams a few times, should be able to do well on exams.
This class is pretty easy as long as you get skoolers. His lectures aren't the greatest for teaching calculations but as long as you review that yourself you'll be completely fine. The questions on his exams are the exact same style and difficulty as the textbook and skoolers which make them easy to prepare for.
please make sure you do well on the recitations and then go and get skoolers
Worst notes I have ever seen. Hides grades the entire semester and doesn't let you see your score until the day before grades are due. Won't answer emails if any of the grades are input correctly, either. Overall the stem professors at FSU really seem to be lacking. Without skoolers there is a slim chance you will pass.
Went to class every day, got a 60 on the first exam. Stopped going to class and did Skoolers exam reviews instead: 80s and 100s on the tests. You do the math. Be ready to teach yourself.
I never really went to class but I did do every question in the skoolers chapter reviews and exam reviews. The tests are just math problems so the only way to study is to do practice problems. If you can do the skoolers problems and the practice problems he gives, you'll be more than fine. MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THE WAY HE TELLS YOU TO
Skoolers is your best friend. The only reason to attend lectures is to get a good participation grade. Extra credit does help.
I took him for Physics 1 and 2, and this semester he wanted to change the format of his exams for the sake of "grading quicker". His exams are nothing like Skoolers anymore, and although Skoolers is trying its best to adapt to the format change, it is not nearly as good as it used to be. Felt like an experiment this semester. Avoid him if you can.
Power points are cluttered/hard to read. I clicker questions are often times flat out silly trick questions. Equation sheets for exams have errors, repeats, and are hard to read. his lectures are pointless. However: nice enough guy, gives HW and recitation problems to practice with which are helpful. Could be such a good class w/out certain probs.
Lind's exam equation sheets are so unbelievably cluttered/hard to read. taking a test and trying to decipher the equations that are so close to each other on a page that you cant tell where they begin and end really is tough. I may have personal trouble with cluttered writing but I laughed out loud the first time I saw one because of the layout.
should have dropped when i could. we were the guinea pigs this semester because they decided to make it multiple-choice out of nowhere. like seriously. physics department does not care for its srudents at all and it shows. exams were horrible and literally no one gets an a before the curve like ur stupid for that. if you have to take this good luck
He is nice if you go to office hours and do well. This semester the exams switched from free response to multiple choice. Terrible choice for physics. The equation sheets are horrible. Familiarize yourself with them before the exam or you'll spend 5 minutes (per question) searching for the right equation. Powerpoints are so cluttered and unclear.
You have to get skoolers for this class. His lectures are terrible, chaotic, and very hard to understand. The tests during the summer were short response, but there is a lot of homework that you have to do as well. Study the skoolers like crazy and compare the equations skoolers gives you with his equation sheet to be prepared for the test.
if you buy skoolers the class is tolerable, he takes points off on exams if you don't use his method of solving even if the answer is right with work shown. I honestly feel like its one thing to have bad lectures but be helpful after class but you cant be bad at both. He is RUDE if you ask any questions and very unhelpful.
This man is a wild card. Some of the stuff he said that wasn't going to be on the exam, ended up on the exam which screwed me over on the final. His lecture notes were a sensory overload. I taught myself only through skoolers and I highly recommend!! The exams are way harder compared to the practice exams.
I studied nothing but skoolers and did well. Many problems on the exam were identical to skoolers practice problems. Prepare to study hours every day to do well. This class is impossible unless you have skoolers. Lecture powerpoints are impossible to read.
Professor Lind was very hard to connect with. His lecture slides were a mess and he never answered questions in a straightforward manner. I emailed him a couple times throughout the semester and never heard back, I'd have go after class or to office hours to follow up. I never got skoolers, but if you want a better grade it seems necessary.
didn't find lectures helpful, but he takes attendance with iclicker. relied entirely on skoolers to pass this class. powerpoints and formula sheets are so messy and chaotic. found the layout of the class to be overly confusing and chaotic
we have MC exams that are 14-15 questions that take them FOREVER to grade. hw due each week that is nothing like the exam. skoolers helps with hw, but not with the exams imo. lind is rude & unhelpful in OH. his lectures are horrible. we also have no idea what our grade is! he locks it the whole semester. tbh the physics department stinks at FSU!
This course is just not meant to be mixed with other important/challenging courses. You really have to live and breathe physics to do well. There's no good strategy to prepare for the exams, and that formula sheet he gives you only sets you up for failure. I stopped going to lectures early in the semester because of his chaotic powerpoints
The entire physics A department takes the same exams! So, the difference between professors is not as vital as other courses. However, Dr. Lind's lectures were not always clear with a lot of information packed onto one slide at a time. He is also a pretty nice guy with cool demonstrations in class. BUY SKOOLERS!
Not really the best teacher. But, I don't think he's intentionally mean. Just get ready to study every day for a few hours and you might be ok.
The whole physics department works together & gives the same test but Lind's notes were consistently illegible. The entire department is bad & its a cop-out how they all work together & still are bad at teaching. you wont have fun no matter who you get but if you want to learn in lecture def avoid Lind. Schoolers helped w HW not so much w MC exams
Slides and lectures are absolutely horrible. I exclusively used schoolers to pass this course. Labs are difficult and grading depends on TA, you get graded on attendance through iclicker but it's a small fraction of grade and there is no point to even go to lecture. Get skoolers.
Is rude, does not respond to emails, and lectures are crammed and confusing with little explanations. One of, if not the worst professor I have had.
Dr. Lind is extremely kind and recognizes students trying hard to succeed, one of the best STEM professors i've had. This class is not easy but it is not impossible, spend a lot of time studying and get Skoolers. His lectures wont help much with the exams, just put in the hours outside class and you will get through it. Lab is so stressful.
After finishing my stem degree at FSU, I can officially say he was the worst professor I have had. Does not answer emails, is rude to students in class, and just not a nice lecturer. Unfortunately odds are you are stuck with him and just have to deal with it.
Be prepared to not understand what he's saying. You'll have to either teach yourself or get Skoolers. His slides are incredibly hard to read. AND he doesn't know how to use Canvas, so you won't know your actual grade unless you calculate it yourself, nor will you be able to see when things are due.
Just get Skoolers, it's the only reason I got a good grade in this class. It's hard to follow his lectures and sometimes leave you more confused if anything. I-clicker is about 2.5% of your grade but I rarely went to class. His lecture slides look like he's had a stroke and are extremely difficult to follow.
After reading the other reviews I was scared for this class but it wasn't that bad. We were given short answer test (rather than mc) which are WAY easier and you have partial credit. just get skoolers and youll be fine.
This was probably one of the worst and most difficult classes I have taken during my time at FSU. Even with skoolers, I found it difficult to do well on exams. I would suggest taking physics at a different institution because the entire physics department here is known for being terrible.
As far as FSU physics is concerned, he is the best! He heavily reviews for tests and hopefully uses LonCapa because I found that beneficial (Glaser Tutoring is a great resource for homework). He is a cool guy and his demonstrations in class are actually exciting. His office hours are helpful and I do recommend going.
He is so rude and inconsiderate. I had to email him about making up an exam due to a funeral I had to attend and he questioned whether the funeral I was attending was actually happening at that time and told me it'd be better for me to do it before then not considering I have to pack, find cov
The averages for exams have been 50s-65s but because of the curved grading scale he doesnt curve them. He doesn't do practice problems in class. the lectures are pretty much him just explaining what each variable in equations mean. he does do cool demos tho. ive taught myself everything.
The physics department can be rough, but you'll get through it with Skoolers and Unstuck AI. Lind's lectures are hard to follow, so use all the resources you can. With hard work, you can do well in this class.
go to class, do the I clicker. I sat in class on my phone, don't even try to listen to his lectures, I stopped after first week. get schoolers trust and u will be fine. the schoolers and the crazy a** curve is what will save your grade
I dont know why people complained about this class. Its super easy. I bought skoolers and soley relied on it since Linds slides were a mess. I didnt go to class and averaged an 84 on exams (would've been higher but didn't study for an exam). Final was identical to the practice. Just stay on top of the hw and skoolers videos and you should be fine.
Strong researcher, weak lecturer. Cool person, weak teacher. Nice when on his good side, can be sassy. Knows his stuff. Teach it effectively? Not really. Forgets we don't know what he's talking about and will solve a problem and go "yeah and that's how you do that." GET SKOOLERS. Worth $. He doesn't like it, but you'll need to learn somehow.
The entire physics department is notoriously horrible. Because there are so many students, they moved to only MCQ for the exams, but because it is still hard physics concepts, there are only 16 questions. This means that if you miss 2 questions, you automatically get a B on the test. It is extremely frustrating.
Would not round up .2 points to a b minus. Also no curve at all and exam averages were in the 60s.
worst class I've ever taken. first C ive ever had. the final (not curved) killed my grade & was nothing like they said it'd be .Exams are designed to trick you & dont reflect your knowledge. no practice final exam. Skoolers isn't that similar to the class itself. doesn't teach the concepts.poorly structured class. do better, FSU Physics Department!

Everyone says bad things about physics at FSU, but I honestly didn't find it hard. Physics is a tough class - nothing to do with Lind. I did all the HW, practice exams, & skoolers and I was fine. The exams are simple questions; much easier than recitation & HW. Only the final exam was really hard so don't let your grade depend on it.
