he is straight to the point, if you ask him a quistion he doesn't know how to answer he is takable if there is absolutly no one else

Just do the work and you will get an A or B in the class.

Marino is a solid teacher, other people complained that he does the same problems over and over, but I'm sure if he didn't, they would complain about THAT. He is a good teacher because you understand not only how to work the problem, but also why. I didn't use the book much and got an A, including a 100% on the final, so he can't be too bad.

I don't know why the others just keep saying something bad about this professor. I just took precalculus with him last summer, and I got an A with 100% on the final. He may not be the best math professor at GWC, but what he teaches is enough for you to solve the problems. Your job is just to do the homework, and then you can get at least a B!!!

hmmm let c... da class seems pretty easy... he gives u hwks but doesnt check them, he takes questions on the hwks every weeks... we don't have lots of quiz in tis class, just 3 tests n 1 quiz n one final... not a lot of work to do. Hes a good teacher... wuteva u dun understand just ask n hell explain 2 u til u get it!

the key is to do the homework it isnt required but i got a's on all of the tests and quizes except for 1 that i didnt do the homework for. that and he looks like a hobbet very entertaining

He is a pretty teacher, and he likes the students who dont want to do homework. Although he solves a lot of problems for you before exams, his students always forget some things which is important to them.

Mr. Marino has a very clear manner of explaining that I found most helpful. He does not deviate from the subject matter whatsoever. His quizes are easy, and his tests are not that bad. I found myself understanding topics that had puzzeled me before. Homework is light. He will build confidence in your ability to understand math. Skip all the rest.

Best instructor if you are good in math and don't want to attend class. But you can totally go to him for help if you need during his office hours.

I really like to be a student of his class. His lectures are cleared,well-organized to show me every problems from easy to hard levels. Getting an A from his class is quite easy, I just need to do all the homework on the Reycar disk( another part I like, I don't need to carry any heavy books to class), and attend to all the Math class to do quizzes

I am not a math major; nor, do I ever, EVER plan to be. But this guy...he actually made me enjoy math while I was in his class. His instruction is clear and not too repetitive. (The repetition is what I hate about math. I know how graph a freakin' exponential function. Why do I need to prove it 600 times?) He's a good guy, too. Take him.

Straight shooter. I appreciated that alot. No other discussion bout the weather etc. Only discussion is the program of the day. Always approachable to answer questions. Very good class.

Took him for math010 when i decided to go back to college 2 years ago. the class is all on a cd and is ridiculously easy. there are people on here talking about how hard math 010 is with him and not to take math at golden west. You have to be retarded to not make an A in math 10

Dude. This teacher is awesome! He made those kinds of jokes that are so lame they are funny! I really learned a lot from him. People are being haters cause they didn't do their homework or something.

Professor Marino was an extremely nice guy and enjoyed helping you. i loved his class and want to take others math classes of his as well. just attend the class take the notes and your golden. test are everyday in the lab or (quizes).

Mr. Marino is the greatest math teacher I have ever had. Before his class, I always struggled. I took his Intermediate Algebra class last spring anticipating a long, tough semester, but Mr. Marino was great. He turned me around. His explanations were outstanding, and he'll answer all your questions - he really wants you to learn and understand!

Mr. Marino is the Einstein of math teachers - he's great. Helps you understand, tests and quizzes fair. I loved going to his class (and I hate math). He took me from a complete hopeless math student (other teachers told me this) to a confident learner. Follow his magic and you will be on top of the math world. An A is almost automatic.

I never liked math, but Mr. Marino was so helpful that it became pretty easy. He answers your questions so that you can understand. Very helpful, wants you to do well. Makes you comfortable. I would take him again for sure.

Always had trouble with math, had to take intermediate algebra - Mr. Marino saved me! He's sooo nice!! Made algebra understandable - I really learned the stuff, at least to pass with a C (which was an achievement for me). I recommend you take Mr. Marino for a math class, you'll be glad you did!

Tough class plus boring professor. Very helpful intelligent guy, though. He will make sure you get the material if you put in the time. He spends lots of time after each lecture to answer any and all questions about anything you may not understand. Like I said, he's there to help, but you gotta put in the effort as well.

great teacher, note taking was very clear. explained problems slowly, but very through.step by step. answered questions clearly. the homework is all on a CD, when you miss 3 problems you have to start over.just show up every day and dont miss a lab and youll get an A.

This man should be given the Nobel Prize for teachers, he is that good. His lectures are the most elegant that I have ever witnessed. Take his class, even if you don't like math - he will be in the history books and you can tell your children that you knew him.

I took this class online and it was super EASY. Exactly the same as in class, but you take your midterms and finals at school, and take your quizzes and submit your homework online at MyLab. Just follow the examples step-by-step then you should do fine. AND study for your IN CLASS midterms and finals!

If math is your weak subject, your in good hands. He explains everything, step by step. He takes about the same time for easy and hard lessons because he doesn't assume that everyone in class are math wiz's. He'll answer all questions. Class can be boring, but I think it has something to do with the class duration. He's an excellent professor!

Have to say this is the man of math! Really had no desire for math before this class but Mr. Marino really made it clear and easy to understand. He's the best teacher I have had at GWC. Recommend you take this guy if you have to take intermediate algebra - he is absolutely the best and also a really nice person.

Awesome teacher. Professor Marino is the best. He is able to break down math in a way that makes it so easy. If you take him go to lecture. Listening to him explain Math helps a lot. I missed a few lectures, so I failed a few quizzes. He gives review e.c. assignments before his tests, so students are well prepared. I recommend him.

This man should be awarded for his high intelligence in math. He uses the most complex problem and explains it in the simplest concept, which the majority of students are able to understand. I used to hate math but his class has changed the way i look at math. Many people in my class including myself highly recommend him. A wise & humble professor.

First off the book/computer program is required, he will drop you if you don't buy it because it is used for quizzes. He is a good teacher and is helpful if you ask for help. Attendance to lectures are not required. If you do your homework, take the quizzes twice (you get two attempts) and do the extra credit you should pass

Look at the reviews of Mr. Marino and believe! He's so smart he should be at the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton (where Einstein was). But he can explain complicated math stuff so that even I could understand! Class is easy, no work to speak of. Just go to class and you will PASS!!

You will miss out on an easy A if you don't take Mr. Marino. He is the nicest person, and the greatest math teacher ever! All you need to do is go to his lecture - he makes everything so easy and clear. I highly recommend his class.

Easy, to the point, teaches straight from homework.

Cool guy. Very clear when explaining things. Attend class for notes,just do the weekly homework and study for the weekly quizzes and you should pass fairly easy. His notes are written clearly and he explains the problems really well. You want an A? Do the homework and study! That's it!

Whoever said hes hard didnt even try! Im not saying you have to give your best effort, but give some. Quiz once a week, theyre on the homework sections due that week. Just do the homework, attend class and listen!! He gives test reviews which are ec which have the exact same questions as on the test. The tests are every 3 weeks or so. Preeetty easy

Mr. M is amazing! He's the best ever - I have no interest in math but Mr. M made it all EASY to understand. Believe the positive comments, he's super smart and nice. The best math teacher that you'll find anywhere! Go to class, follow his clear explanations, and put in a minimal effort and you're golden! You have to be completely lazy not to pass.

I'm so glad I took his class because it was very easy if you do the hw! the quizzes are exactly like the hw but just different numbers, so it's NOT HARD if you don't try! for the people that said he was hard are only lying because they DID NOT try! i'm an average student and I recommend this teacher! very helpful and easy. he teaches step by step!

He's a good teacher. Even though attendance is not mandatory it's a must to pass. Other than that do the work and you'll be fine.

David was definitely an achievable A. He has a good grade curve, 82% is an A. He also curves on tests and your lowest score gets replaced with final, if your final is higher. This is becuase CALC 2 is a hard course. David trys to counterbalance it with his point system and with EC. His tests are easier in comparison with Farnham. Ur best choice.

Mr. Marino is by far my favorite professor. He flats out says in the beginning of the course that this is a hard course and will try to make it easy as possible. I was a pretty bad student and didnt do hw, minimal studying for tests and got a 88% which is above an A (82%). Gave a ton of EC all the time. Just wish he was my calc 1 teacher i got a C

I came in class hoping just to pass with a C since I always struggled with math, but with his class i honestly think its impossible to not ATLEAST get a B with a working brain LOL. Seriously best math class i ever took hands down, this dude was great and made math fun. He bumped me up to an A without me asking, please take him he is the best!!!

I have always HATED math but this guy made it bearable. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, I highly recommend it because he goes through the homework and answers any questions. Overall, great teacher and do/study the homework and you should be fine.

This class is not as easy as people have posted before. He does not give ANY extra credit and the only points are 4 tests of 150 points. He is not an easy teacher, but he is a good teacher! He really wants everyone to understand. I would not take this class if you just want an easy teacher.

Marino is without a doubt the best math teacher I have ever had! Makes hard stuff really easy to understand - he's the Carravagio of Calculus! Very fair - just attend class, take notes, ask a few questions. He really comes across as wanting everyone to do well. Take this guy, he will be in the Calculus Teachers Hall of Fame!!!

Take this class! Marino is the first math professor whose class I actually enjoyed. He's clear, concise, helpful, and often lets you leave early. What you see is what you get. Lots of extra credit. Would recommend to anyone, especially if you struggle with math like I do.

If you understand and do all of your homework, you'll get an A or a B. Over half the class dropped b/c they expected the 82% curve. Tests are fair and some problems are from the assigned homework.

Calling ALL Intermediate Algebra students in Orange County: Take Mr. Marino! It's worth the drive to Huntington Beach GWC. He makes the class unbelievably easy to understand! Don't know why anyone would drop his class, absolute guaranteed A. Only way not to pass is not to take tests. Best teacher I've ever had - the Rembrandt of remedial math!!

David was the best math teacher I have ever had. I am horrible at Math and have received many F's prior to taking his class. I was able to get an A. He gives reviews before tests and will answer questions during breaks in class. You have the option to buy the book but you truly do not need it. TAKE HIM!

Math is a difficult subject for me, but Mr. Marino offered lots of extra credit. He genuinely wants you to pass the class. If he sees you are willing to put the effort in to ask, he will put the effort in to help you. Don't miss the quiz's or you can't take them. Go to lecture, they are very helpful and processes are explained well.

By far the BEST MATH TEACHER I've ever had at GWC. He goes over all types of the homework in class, and he'll pick around 10-15 for each quiz. 2 chances at each quiz, every quiz is exactly from the homework so just do the hw. Tests and final have a study list and they're all directly from that. This class will be a joy, love this guy.

As long as you do your homework, I truly believe you can not fail this class. He teaches math in a way where you can finally understand algebra. There is no "textbook" you use mymathlab. I don't understand how anyone can rate Mr. Marino below 5 in every category. I'm disappointed I won't be able to take his class next semester. My fav teacher!

His class is very simple. No textbook is required, you use mymathlab. QuizzesExams are easy, if you pay attention during class you should be able to get an A. He explains things clearly and is willing to go back and explain anything you did not understand.

Loved Mr. Marino! I kinda hate math, but he explained everything very well and I learned everything easily. There is a lecture and a lab. Lecture attendance wasn't mandatory, he didn't take roll. Quizzes every week on MathXL. (Tests also taken on MathXL) He answered questions and was very helpful. No textbook, just online code for MathXL!

Easiest class I have ever taken. He doesn't even take attendance. I asked him for help with a math question from another class and he showed me how to solve the problem with fluidity and ease. All u need is the access code no text book required. I would take him again, extremely easy!

very clear lecturer and really helps during his office hours. his tests are similar to the book problems so if you do the work and understand the concepts, there should not be any curve balls on any of the 4 tests. wish there were more opportunities for points cuz one bad test score can ruin your whole grade. nice guy and really knows his stuff tho

Heard he's retired, won't be back. Huge loss for all GWC math students! They should establish a Marino Chair of Mathematics, like the Lucasian Professor at Cambridge in England (the one for Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawking). Brilliant man, genius teacher, unreplaceable! All my friends are literally crying because they can't take him. It's so sad!!!
