At first I really didn't understand what he was asking for. Tough grader, and it took awhile for me to really get enthused. I had a hard time trying to get in the zone and we would spend most the time in class going over youtube videos. He was okay, but he was hard on me at first with my writings.

Maslane is the best! He's EXTREMELY laid back and chill, even plays music during class. Always there to help you w/ any issue and will help you improve. Funny guy and knows what he's teaching. Grades fairly and will work with you if you're just up front about things. One of the best classes/profs ever. Highly recommend taking him!

Professor Maslane may be a good teacher on campus but online he's not. The questions on his quiz require's to much writing. To many essays. If writing is not your thing don't take him and especially not in the summer and online. Hamlet is so outdated give your students something meaningful to write about!!!

This teacher is my first teacher for college. I took him during the summer, and he made it easy for me to transition from high school to college. He always explained everything and gave examples before assigning something. Always helpful and understanding. I wish I could take him for all of my future classes.

Maslane was awesome. He is super funny and does not give that much homework at all. The homework he does give is easy. Do your work and utilize the writing center to get a better grade on papers. There are only 3 papers total which are easy. Would take him again in a heartbeat. Also, he does give extra credit, take advantage of it.

We have 3 essays, 1 final exam, and he does give out homework from the book where you read short stories and answer them. Is very helpful as well for college essays as well.

If you take him, you will significantly see that you have improved with your writing. He does not just throw an essay on you. He takes you step by step on how to write the essay. He provides A essays to help you understand what he expects. Take him if you really need guidance with writing well. His classes fill up in like 3 days so be fast.

Prof Maslane was unfamiliar with the online program because this was his first time teaching online. As a result, the assignments were scattered everywhere instead of all in one place. It was hard to keep track of everything I was supposed to do. Also, he would respond to my emails immediately, but his answers were not very clear and rarely helped.

Even though my 1301 prof was easy I wish I had taken him! Funny and knowledgeable. He prepares you well for research assignments, may be a little confusing, but if you let him know your concerns he will be willing to help. Do your work, everything counts toward your grade!

Porfessor Malsane is a great professor, he is really funny and he always tries to help everyone in his class. He is always available to answer questions and help with essays. There are 2 major grades, and essay and a research which wasn't very hard. He gives a lot of extra credit. Overall, I learned a lot and would take him again!

His 1301 class was tricky at times, but he is very helpful when it comes to your essays. He gives a LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT, so take advantage of that. Be punctual when it comes to turning in homework on time. Would I take him again? Yes I would.

I took English 1302 online through Professor Maslane. My main critique is that he is very unorganized. Many of his instruction are very unclear and rather quite confusing. He will send out news that he will release an assignment or instruction by a certain time, and then you'll never see it. I've heard he is top notch in person though.

I ended the course with an A, but the only good thing about Professor Maslane is that he responds to emails in a timely manner. He is unorganized and his due dates are unrealistic. Save your time and money and pick someone who is going to help you improve not bring you down and make you feel inadequate. Some people should not become teachers.

Such a great professor, and really helps you improve as a writer. Throughout the semester he gives individual assignments, but the two major grades is a group essay (and presentation) and a research paper (10-12 pages, 2500-2700 words). As long as you try, you'll pass. I passed with a 93. He also gives out a lot of extra credit.

Going to class is a must. Theres hw almost everyday and lots of assignments but as long as you are trying and put forth effort he will give credit were credit is due. I normally suck at English and got an A. Hes a pretty laid back teacher and creates a very relaxed environment in the class so you wont dread going to class.

I ended up dropping this course cause this guy always counted me absent even though i was there every class. Expects you to do a bunch of work and turn it in on time within 1 week. He can be very unclear on directions and you'll have one group project. If your looking for an easy A don't bother with him cause more than likely it won't happen.

Where do I start? Prof. Maslane is an amazing guy, he's really easy going too. If you want to improve your writing skills, he's your man! He gives his student many resources to help with writing and he also offers extra credit all throughout the semester. Had weekly homework assignments, but they weren't too difficult and he gives good feedback. Keeps the lectures entertaining, which was crucial for a 3 hour Friday only class. Definitely would take again, given the chance.

In the beginning of the semester, a lot of homework was handed out but it helped bump your grade. 3 essays, he will meet with you and help you as much as you want. He offers plenty of extra credit and once you get to understand his personality, you will really enjoy his class. Very caring & gives great feedback.

Took class in mini-mester, so it was quite hectic due to such a short period of time. But overall he is one the best professors i've had in my college life (no joke). Prof. Maslane is a hilarious lecturer and really cares about his students. I've taken 3 of his classes (ENG1301 & 1302, & Film as Lit), all in-person. Communicate with him when you struggle and he'll try to help. Gives small, ice-breaker like, group projects and one bigger one--but pays attention to who's working hard! Textbook is needed, though.

Professor Maslane is not a tough grader if you know what you are doing. He makes the class interesting and is clear with his instructions. The class does require a lot of homework. After each class, there is at least one thing assigned that is due next class. He does provide students with a lot of extra credit opportunities. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor maslane, is a difficult grader. I seriously expected an A for this class, and received a D, instead because of plagiarism. His teaching style is not for the faint of heart. Gives unclear directions, takes for ever grading papers, and somehow my rough drafts received higher grades compared to the final essay. Highly disappointed!

Mr. Maslane is a good english teacher and I learned a lot from his class. However, there were some issues I had with him; he cusses a lot and talks about sex and teen pregnancy a lot. He's an alright professor. His tests consist of 10 multiple choice questions, 2 short essays, and 1 longer essay. If you don't like writing essays don't take him. His final is an 6-7 page essay but brakes it down so it won't be to stressful. Does give extra credit opportunities though.

Barely used the book, all reading assignments from the book I was able to find PDF's for online. I found him to be a little tough when grading my papers, but that just pushed me to do better on the next paper. Easy Final.

I found his online class very disoriented and it was hard to quite make out what he really wanted from the writing. He's a very tough grader so watch out for that!

GREAT instructor. He is always willing to help and guide you through the writing assignments. This is my 2nd time taking his course and he is a stupendous instructor.

i heard he was great in 1301 BUT terrible experience in his 1302. had to drop bc failing. majority of my class was failing. he would give me 44 on papers thats multiple people, including my english major mom went over. i had covid so he gave me 0s on in class work and it took a lot of back and forth to get them removed. not very understanding :(

He responds back to emails late as well as emailing certain students to consider dropping the course rather than helping out or explaining to you what you did wrong in the paper. I took Professor Maslane for two classes and it was a great experience both times. Show up to class, do the homework, follow instructions, and you will pass. Not easy to get an A, but if you do everything asked of you, you won't get a failing grade.

Hes super hard-grader. He always pretend to help but he doesnt. You never got 100% from him, He always give 92% maximum. Hes so strict. You need to pay attention completely what he said. Homework instructions are difficult to decipher. MUST ATTEND CLASS to pass and to get complete homework instructions. Plays background music, so don't take if this can't be handled. Must work for your grade, but assignments are not too difficult.

He's very picking when he grades assignments. Every time you thought you did well on a paper it was the opposite. It messes up your mental ability to write a paper cause now you are not confident enough, overthink, or just don't want to write the paper cause of how picking he grades. He talks about the government a lot.

Professor Maslane is one of the best I've had at Lone Star! He gives good feedback and really helps with any confusion you may have on an assignment. He will push back deadlines if the majority of the class needs it. There are a few group assignments, but nothing too crazy. Just do the work and communicate and you'll get the grade you earned.
