I had him for both 0306 and 0308. He is very good at explaining it so that you will not feel lost and confused. He is wonderful at teaching and tutoring. He does believe in and is serious about no cell phones or pagers on in class (which I totally agree with). I believe he is very fair and professional. He made me view math in a better perspective.

Mr. Maurer is an awesome math teacher!! He explains things very well, and his tests are exactly what he gives you on the review just different numbers. I would definetly recommend taking this teacher!

What is all the hype about? The guy is a SNOB and he is ARROGANT. He DOES NOT help you succeed whatsoever. He gives you these lame review sheets at the beginning of the semester and expects you to do them like a religion. Also, when he assigns HW, he tells you to do every 4th problem and if you don't like doing HW, don't sign up for him.

Genuine guy, and genuinely interested in math. He answers all your questions and he gives a review sheet that almost exactly matches the tests. I made a high A without too much strain. I would recommend him.

Fantastic math teacher. He made math interesting for two semesters (and I used to hate math because I was bad at it). Never felt stupid asking a question in his classes. Practise tests are fabulous, loved the structure of his classes.

Great Teacher. I have been out of school for years and I have always been terrible in algebra. Mr. Maurer is a fantastic teacher. He as patience, understanding and will take the time to go over problems in different ways until you get the "Ah Ha!" My only regret is he does not teach College Algebra.

Professor Maurer is a good teacher overall, but he gives wayyy to much homework. I took him for a mini mester and didn't take the fact that the class is only 3 weeks into consideration at all. If you have a job and do not have the wholee day to do his homework, keep looking.

The best Beginning and intermediate teacher ever!!! Take him if you need a super refreshment in Math. He is very professional, cares about all his students and sometimes his analogies are funny. He is a wize man, he can tell right away if you are having trouble and tries to help you.. Take him, take him!!!!!

Smart guy, seems to know every mistake we can come up with, and tell you why and how to avoid it. Lots of HW, which actually helps you. He gives you guides for the tests and they are very helpful. He likes his students to participate and go to the board to get rid of any unclear aspect, which I appreciated it. I absolutely recommend him!!!

The guy knows his math, but is a complete jerk and DOES NOT HELP YOU AT ALL.... TEACHES YOU 4 SUB-CHAPTERS IN ONE CLASS AND YOU HAVE A TEST THE NEXT CLASS. Total BS!! Do NOT recommend him... Seems to like to drop and fail people. If you get him DON"T MISS CLASS or you are screwed! And he does not care what it is for!!! Real Jerk!

Wish he taught college algebra, but I had him for 0310 and 0308. The best teacher I have ever had. I was out of school for 15 years and he made it seem so simple. But you must study to pass. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

Make sure your not late or tardy as he says it, make sure you attend his class or he will screw you over!!! I had him for 0306, and he was wonderful then. But in 0308, he was not good. His teaching was hard to understand, he is hard to get a hold of when you need help, and his dry sense of humor towards students got very old, very fast. He knows Math, but fails to teach it. I would not recommend this professor to my worst enemy. Do NOT take him, please.

I took Mr. Maurer before I took College Algebra and he completely eased all my fears of math! He was very easy to understand and a great teacher if you need a refresher course! All the work is laid out for you and he can't possibly make it any easier. Just do you work and you'll be okay!

This guy is an ASS. He looks like Barts Principal Skinner. He thinks everyone is stupid. You can tell he thinks that he's Gods gift to Math. I'm taking his class now and if I drop it I will not get any money back. If you sign up for this class make sure you drop. Run like hell when you see his name come up.

I was worried to take him becuase of his reviews but he was a great teacher i had no complaints and very helpful:)I also love how all the homework is do all at the same time at the end of the semester.

He is very strict on attendance.People might think he is rude but overall he is a really nice guy.Just respect him and you'll be respected.You can turn in homework at the end of semester. And you don't have to purchase Mathlab. He goes through every problem step by step to help you learn it.The only thing is that I hated was coming up to the board.

Honestly im ok with him except being called out like evryday to come to the board. he teaches good butt look if your looking for an easy teacher he's not one of them he expects you to be in class everyday and work hard! Being his student is no joke! so if you prefer nicer and easier teacher pleas keep looking dont bother messing up ur grade.

Remember your Squares and Cubes, your formulas like Y-Intercept, Slope, etc. He likes having you do problems on the Chalkboard and he likes to talk about his PetHelp club...he gives a bonus point for not missing too many class days. (like 2 or less)...GOOD LUCK!

great great greeat! i had him for 0306 and im taking him for 0308 right now he's very helpful and gives tons of extra cred. just pay attention and try to learn and you'll pass! do the my math lab (crazy bonus points towards your average however its not required) i suck at math and i passed with a 97!

I have always struggled in math and for the first time, I am actually walking away confident with the material. He does require a formula chart every class but it is extremely helpful. Since its due each class, you memorize the chart-which only helps you! I have a 102 average & this is coming from someone who made F's & D's in math! HE IS AWESOME!

Mr. Maurer is an excellent teacher. I took him for mini-mester, and I must say, it is A LOT of work. However, he makes it very easy to understand, and he will go over, and over the problems until everyone gets it. He gives you hw and test prep. packets that cover every chapter. The questions on the exams are similar to those in the test prep.

Extremly helpful, and clear. Follow his rules in class though(ie. no phones/internet shopping. I've had trouble with math ever since 3rd grade, and he taught it to me in a new light. Do the class work, homework, and test reviews(which sounds like a lot, but is easy), and youll pass easily!!

Mr. Maurer is absolutely awesome. We're at the end of the course now and loved every minute of his class. He is very persistant, helpful, and honest. Pay attention, be respectful, follow rules and you'll be good

Mr. Maurer is the best MATH teacher ever. I am not really math savvy, but he really helps, makes sure EVERYONE understands. MUSTS: No cell phones, or laptops, or CALCULATORS. You will not use your calculator until the end of the semester. LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS. It is HARD to FAIL this class!

He is a great teacher I would reccommend him to anyone not that great in math. I graduated high school ten years ago with a D in math I passed his class with a A. That should show you how good he is as a teacher.

Mr. Maurer is one of those teacher who is interested in your well being. He makes sure you're doing well in all your classes and does everything so you can be successful. Few teachers do that. His class is simple but you do have to pay attention. Don't ever doubt taking him :)

Mr Maurer is a very good teacher. He is helpful and doesn't make anyone feel dumb about asking questions. Do your daily reviews and practice tests and show up for class and there isn't any reason that you won't pass.

its an easy class, he does a good job on explaining but he is so harsh on grading.His extra credit is 1 point. He give so much work and yet so stingy on scores. If ur a math nerd take him, if ur not take someone else.

He is a really great teacher! He teaches each section very well, and stops to make sure everyone is on page. No hw. It's on you if you do your chapter reviews. Just study and pay attention and you should be able to make a good grade.

Amazing professor, remarkable human being, easy grader, and very very kind! Mr. David is a really good teacher. He is strict about phones and attendance. If you miss a day you cant make up anything but all in all hes really nice and makes everything clear & hes fun to talk to. I recommend him

Mr. Maurer is very helpful. Do not be absent more than 2 times or he wont drop your lowest test score. Do the math lab that will boost your grade by 25 to 30 points.

You need to take this professor. He is very patient, the class will end early than the time is given and he will always stay until the remainder time to help you one on one with any problems you may not understand. He does not give any homework but highly encourage you to use the math lab for extra credit to use on your average. Trust me it helps.

Mr. Maurer is by far one of two best math instructors I have had. He is really good at teaching and will do all his best to ensure one learns. His way of teaching actually makes you learn. he has daily reviews which help learn the basics of math. If you attend every class and pay are a focused you will learn. Also he is very kind and understanding.

I'm actually surprised by the good reviews he has. I've never been good at math & I'm still not. He is a tough grader, he'll take off for the smallest thing. He also doesn't give homework, which I thought was great in the beginning but come to find out it's not because you have no practice. With his grading, tests will kill you. He's also boring.

He's not an easy nor a hard professor. He does make you work for your grade. Hes lectures are long because at the end of the lecture he talks about other things in the class and expects you to stay and listen to him. Hes cool and all but very boring.

Mr. Maurer gets often the "you are the best math teacher I've ever had, I never understood anyone else." In my opinion this is true for sure. Don't skip class because there's a lot of content you don't want to miss on. If you struggle with math, take him.

If your not good at math you need to take Mr. Maurer. I thought I would never get to Algebra but his teaching method just works. Goes over basically every problem on reviews that are exactly like test. Doesnt give homework so you actually have time to study review and work on hard problems on your own to prepare for test. Drops lowest test grade.

He teaches well, step by step. But, he takes too long and ends up taking the first hour talking about nonsense. You cannot use your cellphone in his class of have it on your desk. If so, you will be written up in his binder and he will deduct points from your grade.

He is a nice person. He always make sure that you understand and answer your questions. One thing that you should not do in his class is playing with your cell phone. He takes it seriously. All homework and extra credit are online.

An excellent professor when it comes to breaking a certain problem down to get the student to understand the problem and how to solve the problem correctly and efficiently. A very nice guy, can be boring at times, but it is math so yeah. Do not have your cell phone out you will get called out for it! Highly recommend him though!

A really great professor. I personally have lots of trouble with math but Mr. Maurer elaborates on material very well and makes sure no one gets left behind. Tests are exactly like the review which helped out tons! He sometimes asks students to work problems out on the board but it's helpful. Overall was very satisfied in this class

Professor Maurer is really good at what he does. If you are having a difficult time in math i would recommend taking him, im not the type to go online and write a review but i really feel that i need to get the word out that people who are having a hard time passing math really need to consider taking him. His tests are exactly like the review.

HORRIBLE! If you aren't a math person I don't recommend him at all he is terrible! His explanations are not very clear and he moves on without going into depth of the ways to solve etc.

I LOVE this prof. He is such a caring person on top of an amazing teacher! He really makes sure each person understands. GO TO CLASS! It will help tremendously! Only thing that some people may not like is that he has a NO PHONE policy! I wish he taught all maths at Lone Star! I would take him every course.

A little strict when you are not ready when class begins he will ask you to step out until you are finished getting what you need. If you miss class you can go to any of his other class times. Test are exactly like the reviews. He will go through each problem on the review and will not move on until everyone gets it.

If you suck at math, take him. I took him for a summer course and was impressed. No homework ever, MML is optional for extra credit, no book. You don't need to buy a calculator though it helps. He has a strict no phone policy. The reviews are exactly like the test. Definitely take him if you struggle.

I took Professor Maurer for Math 0308. I really enjoyed his class! he focuses his teaching style around class participation. Show up to class and the exams will not surprise you.

Great teacher

Professor Mauer was the best math professor I have ever had. He teaches you more than one way to solve a math problem, gives reviews to study a couple days before the exam and hes always there to answer all questions you may have. He loves what he does and it shows in the way he teaches his classroom. I would definitely recommend him.

took him for fall semester an was a big mistake. in class its just him talking and him picking kids to go up to the board which i hated since im already bad in math to begin with so going up to the board was just embarassing. his quizes in class are easy but the test are much harder and one little mistake he counts the whole answer wrong nd no help

Fast pace, refresher type course, and tends to review problems once and moves on. This is not a good class for those that are returning to school and have a hard time with math.

Mr. Maurer is very stern you will not pass if you dont show up and put forth effort. The way he teaches math makes you like math if you ever thought you suck at math. He is one of a kind. I will take all my math classes with him if I could.

I had him as my first math teacher here and i would really take his class if i could but hes really nice and he tells u to practice practice practice because hes not wrong you only get better and better , take his class he is the most bestt math teacher i know it almost feels like your in elemantary asking for help when u have a problem with work

He expects you do your work. Don't come to class trying to play around. Focus take notes. I'm not a math person but doing the short homework, creating groups and putting in an effort will help you get through it. He's an older guy but that doesn't mean that he is mean and inflexible.

I ended up dropping his class halfway through the semester because it was just to hard for me. He goes way to fast and is honestly very rude to students. Makes you feel belittled. If you have social anxiety dont take his class. I wish I would of read some of the comments before taking his class. Wasted a whole semester.

Professor Maurer moves along quickly, so if you aren't paying attention you could miss something important; however, he gives you tips and tricks to solve faster and drops your lowest lab score if attendance is good. Overall, very thorough and makes sure everyone understands before moving on and is a very appreciable professor.

This professor is the kindest professor at LSC. He wants you to learn and will help in any way he can. I was accepted into some of the best engineering schools because he helped me build the proper math foundation. TAKE HIM! Pay attention, do your homework, and study. That is what you are there to do!

Great Professor for the first time in my life I had a good understanding of Math, he gives extra credit for completing reviews. The reviews are exactly like the test, so if you do the review you will do good! We didn't need the textbooks at all. Be sure to be on time and don't miss class.

Easiest class ever! Great teacher.

I took 0308 for the summer. His explanations were clear. If you don't understand any of the problems he is going over, please ask as much as possible because he will explain it. Sometimes classes will finish early, but he stays for all the students who want to work on the extra credits or study guides. Pay attention and do the xtra credits.

This professor was by far one of my favorite math teachers as a college freshman. He goes over any misunderstandings that the class may have. I highly recommend him as a freshman math class or any classes.

He is willing to answer any questions you have over the material, however if you don't put effort he is not going to work with you. Make sure to attend all the classes so you won't get behind on anything. They are tests every 2 weeks ,so do your best on those.

Very good at explaining. Only thing required is a graphing calculator + dry erase marker. Might make you do a problem on board, but he'll help you if you can't do it. The only grades are tests + labs. He gives 2-3 practice tests per chapt

Mr Maurer, was a very great professor online. He responded to emails quickly, he allowed me an extension after a terrible circumstance, and sent a email for the next test deadlines. You could complete majority of the work in a few days. There are no constant emails or reminders. Would recommend
