This guy is amazing! He has been a teacher and an principal and really knows what he is talking about. His classes are interesting, and he challenges us to rethink how we were taught in school. I highly recommend him. Girls, if you want a prof who is smart funny, and easy on the eyes - McCabe is it, especially when he wears his cowboy boots!

McCabe is great! His midterm was a bit harsh though... 13 fricken paragraph essay! My hand still hurts from writing. But he prepared us for it, and he makes the class interesting. The time just flies bye! I would take him again for Ed 13, but hopefully I am going to be transfering next semester.

I agree with the first post, McCabe is awesome! He brings real experience to class because he has already done it all. He treats his students with respect, even the totally clueless! I have never seen him wear boots he is always in a suit. But if he was my principle when I was in school, I would be in trouble all the time! McCabe is a hottie!

He is very intelligent and makes students think critically about the world around them, and then get involved in it. During the special elections he had us prove that we voted or explain why we didn't. How Cool!

Nice teacher. His first semester here and so far he has all the woman turning their heads. Midterm was a little hard but it makes you think. He is very knowlege able with what he teaches and if you are going to be a teacher then you need to take this class.

Professor McCabe is the best teacher I have ever had! I had him in the Fall, and I wish he could teach all of the courses I have to take at PCC, he makes things interesting and relates them to life. He is positive, funny, always smiling, and of course, very, VERY HOT! But his pedagogy is his most attractive quality (That was for you professor!)

I agree with the other posters. Professor McCabe is one of the best teachers at PCC (and yes, he is cute!) He is a great combo o cowboy, computer nerd and teacher. His lectures are fun and interesting (he podcasts them on the net!). His Tests are hard core though. Essay questions! Pay attention in class and you will do fine.

His tests are long but they arent hard, neither is the homework. Probably because he actually teaches you what you need to know to succeed.

McCabe is unlike any professor I have ever had. One of the other posters said that he was unconventional... this is true. I learned so many wonderful things in his class, the one I hope I remember 5 or 20 years from now is that the kids are what matters, not the test scores! It is a passion for learning that is important, McCabe taught me that.

I just took Professor McCabe for ed 30 this winter and he was incredible! He is the real deal. His classes were always interesting and provoked great discussions. I will never look at a light bulb in the same way!

I took professor McCabe's Ed 13 class last fall. He is young, full of energy, smart and good looking! I found his powerpoint lectures very helpful, even more useful. He is kind towards his students and will do anything to help you succeed. I am taking him again for Ed 30.

Mr. McCabe is a good teacher, but by no means the best at PCC. (That goes to a certian person in the compsci department.) McCabe's class is fun, though the once-a-week schedule screws things up. Theres very little work, just a few easy papers throughout the quarter, and the outside activities make the class worth it.

I just had the opportunity to hear Prof McCabe speak at the future teachers conf at Loyola Marymount this Saturday... He was the best speaker at the event... not to mention the cutest! But, he was also the only male presenter! :-) Never the less... PCC is fortunate to have him!

Dr. McCabe is one of the coolest teachers at PCC. He's pretty chill, and his class is interesting if you want to become an educator. I'm not too fond of the book he uses for the class though :]

Professor McCabe is really passionate about his work and it is extremely evident that he loves teaching. It's a lot of lecture and notes, which are also posted on his website. The tests are all essay questions. The only complaint I have is that he missed WAY too many classes, without any notification via web or email to students prior to class.

I had Professor McCabe for Winter Session... he gave me a reason to get up at 6:30 am and be excited about it. Great Professor. I recommend him.

Professor McCabe is the best thing going here at PCC... well him and Professor Villanueva from English! His midterm killed me! All essays! I heard the Profe speak on KPFK last night and he totally laid it down! I am proud to be one of his students!

Very helpful. Homework is required but if you do it you will do just fine. Has a wish grade at the end and I thought i deserved a B because I did not do all the work but ended with an A.

He has an online page were he uploads the notes and assigments. He is very easy going. There are a couple of assigments. The only tests are midterm and final tes. Really easy class

Very easy class, Midterm was a little difficult because it was all essays, Final was a teacher evaluation, lesson plan, and an essay question/guided paper he tells you about everything that's due all semester, but when the final comes be careful because I felt really slammed, and go into detail about stuff in your essays

McCabe is nice/knowledgeable/talkative/unreliable. The class is very basic/simple/one sided/unorganized. Books are not needed and essays are general. Field work is required, best part of the class. The class notes/books can be found online. Class has great discussions but could be deeper. The class will give you a general overview of US education.

McCabe is one of the most student focused professors at PCC. He may take awhile getting his tests back to you, but he gives a lot of feedback and you know why you got the grade you did. One of the best classes I have taken so far!

McCabe enjoys what he does. He's one of the most enthusiastic prof's I've ever had (plus he's Hot in a George Clooney sort of way!) The readings he assigns are relevant. He gives all essays and is slow at getting grades back, but gives a lot of detailed comments. I recommend that anyone who is interested in education take one of his classes!

There were issues with professor attendance but he was exceptionally knowledgeable about the material. A passionate teacher who makes you want to believe.

I'm a average C student and I got an A in his class.There is now work required just mid term and finals.He gives you the prompt ahead of time and let's you use notes.Easy class.

Easy A, great lectures, nice professor. One midterm and one final. This class requires XX hours of classroom observations and a report of XX pages of your observations.

Take this professor for College 1. So easy. He's a great professor, interesting to chat with, and overall a good guy. We had little to no assignments, just read the reader, Spare Parts, do your weebly and that's literally it. He also cancels class a lot and lets you out early a lot too so that's a huge plus.

Wonderful professor, but does tend to cancel class often. We don't get any homework, instead we have to do hours at schools or after school clubs under supervision of a teacher. We have one midterm of writing a short essay and instead of a final he just graded us o the work we did in class. Its a very easy A, but not for those who expect to work.

Exceptional professor. Focused on content and pushes the student to think out of the box to explore how we can collectively improve the public education system. McCabe drove home this singular point - "The most radical thing you can do as students to bring about positive change is to graduate, obtain our credential and teach." Brilliant.

I can't say enough about McCabe. I took him as a freshman this year and he is the best! I can't wait to take Ed 30 with him in Winter. If you have the chance, one of his classes. Lectures are super interesting and he respects student opinion. He even arranged for class field trips! I Loved the Huntington and the Road to Teaching Conference.
