He's a really good prof, I had him for Neuropsyc and Cognitive psyc, it was helpful to have him for both becasue he overlapped lots. very knowledgeable and fair on his exams, not too hard.... interesting to listen to in class and frequently uses his own research in lectures
A really great professor. Had him for neuropsych and child development. Pretty fair marker and uses his research as great examples in lectures. Super nice and pretty funny.
Most straightforward prof ever. Go to lectures and read the text you'll get a good mark. Read the text, got 96% on first midterm, slacked and didn't got 78% on second. Online quizzes 2 midterms and a final. He tries to keep it interesting and funny, and he knows his stuff. Posts slides on net. Great prof!
HE IS AWESOME!! He is so clear, straight to the point, tells great stories and examples to help remember the material. His tests are very fair, there will be nothing on the test that he didn't mention in class so definitely go to lectures! Best Prof!!! He is also very enthusiastic, you will never get bored in his class!!!
Definitely one of my favourite profs I have ever had! He is super interesting and very clear on the material and what is expected of you. He tells great stories that makes it much easier to remember the material. I would love to take more courses with Medler for sure!
A very enthusiastic prof. Definitely cares about his students. Has strong morals. Uses great personal examples. Paying attention in his lectures can be very beneficial for exams.
He was an awesome professor. He knew what he was talking about and was ready and willing to answer questions. Go to classes, read the material, and you will do well. I would definitely take another course with him!
Very enthusiastic professor with many anecdotes and fascinating insights that the a textbook just can't give you. Read the material, keep up with lectures and you'll do well, I slacked off unfortunately and got a B+ but Medler was still easily one of my favourite profs in university so far!
Very enthusiastic prof, kept every lecture interesting even at 8:30am. Has a lot of experience in the psychology field so he can answer questions about careers in psychology, etc. Highly recommend!
very well informed professor that takes interest in the material and keeps lectures very interesting and closely related tot he textbook. Really no need to read it because his powerpoints are exactly the same. Amazing prof overall
Such an awesome teacher! His tests are so fair. Come to class, take notes and you are set! He has online quizzes that he puts almost word for word on his tests. He wants you to succeed
AWSOME prof! so engaging! Dr. Medler is both informative, and helpful, he also always responds to e-mails promtly. One of the most organized prof's I've had. He clearly wants students to succeed.Go to class and do the online quizzes and you will do well.
Awesome prof! He explains everything very well, and he seems to love what he teaches! All around awesome!
First, go to this class...everyday. And read your chapters BEFORE CLASS. He is a good teacher, but he rushes when he has to, and hopes that you get it on your own. This class is hard to say the least, and he talks super fast and looks flustered ALL THE TIME. He isn't the worst, but there is SO much to memorize.
Interesting, organized, and engaging lectures, but I found the quizzes and exams too easy to actually be challenged.
Medler is a pretty great prof who has some fantastic knowledge especially about cognitive psychology. However, our class was always behind the other two classes. This meant our last class before midterms was spent rushing through things or not covering information and having to teach entire chapters to ourselves in some cases
Pretty good prof. The only complaint would be that he was a little rushed sometimes but it wasn't a huge deal. Must read all the chapters to do online quizzes and tests are strongly based on text. Overall he was pretty enthusiastic which always makes coming to class a little more interesting.
He was a really nice prof. He told funny stories and jokes and made the information quite interesting. Near the end of the term we really rushed through to finish everything in time which was kind of annoying but not a big deal.
Medler reads the notes off the slide show in an animated voice but not much else. There are frequently errors in the course package and assignments. He is often unclear, semi unorganized and late. He does have a lot of time for the students and there is no expensive textbook. He also gives some bonus assignments (to make up for his errors).
Medler is a great prof. Reminds me of a mad scientist, which perfectly fits for psych. Lectures are very interesting, expresses interest/passion in the subject which allows you to obtain a strong connection during class. Defiantly increased my interest in the subject. Not exactly punctual/organized though.
Medler is a fascinating person. Such strong ethics that he dropped a stable job due to colleagues incompetence. Effective prof but doesn't quite have a steady pace in lectures. Everyone passes but few get an A/A+. He expects you to work hard for him because he works hard for you. Overall fair and doesn't hand out many marks for free.
Man oh man how do I begin to explain Dr. Medler. He is strict, but fair and concise. He leaves no man left behind and will help you to succeed if you simply ask. He is a stickler with decimals but that's about it. Attend class and you will ace the course. His explanations are crystal clear. It's impossible to fail with Medler as a prof!
Very engaging lecturer, always has great examples and stories to present the material. must do homeworks, and all little assignments, marks hard but fair. responds to emails immediately and is always available to help. want to take more classes with him.
Medler is fantastic. He's always extremely willing to meet with people outside of class time to give tutor-quality help. He's so nice and approachable and never makes you feel like you're asking stupid question. I really recommend taking any class with him!
UGH!!! A nice enough guy I'm sure, but his attempts to make a boring subject interesting fail miserably. Lectures always peppered with way too many asides that make it hard to know what is important.... Super fast paced so don't skip any classes. The course pack is awkwardly worded and difficult to navigate, but it's cheap like borscht.
Textbook was useful for the last chapters that he had to rush through - but appeared on the final. Quite a boring afternoon class but you need to go to every lecture to get the iClicker points.
You get marks from iClicker questions that he has dates listed for. As long as you go to class with the course notes sold from the bookstore and do all of the examples separately, you shouldn't have a problem. He's pretty fair in that if you make a mistake, you can still get marks on the math work you've done.
Midterms aren't hard. No to much work. Medler makes lectures enjoyable! He gets you interested in the content. Have taken multiple classes with him and enjoyed every single one!
Dr. Medler is my absolute favorite professor at UVic!! He is great at explaining course concepts in a way that makes sense. Medler has online quizzes that are actually super helpful for the midterms as he sometimes puts the same questions on the midterm! His midterms are relatively easy with clear-cut expectations and no surprises.
Dr. Medler is an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable professor; if you really listen to what he says, you can learn a lot. He is a good prof, I highly recommend him.
I don't know why everyone has given him such good marks, but he is definitely one of the worst profs that I have had in my 4 years at UVic. Had the misfortune of having him all year... dull as ever every time. Thinks highly of himself. Caught him blatantly lying a few times. Very easy class though, if you can put up with him.
I like Dr. Medler, hes a good Prof, he wants you to succeed in his classes, especially Statistics. Its not hard to pass his classes, because he spreads out the marks so much. His notes were all over the place in the Summer (2016) Term, but the course is doable even if Math is not great. His tests are always the same challenge.
This Course was brutal for a condensed summer class. Regular term is best option if possible. Do his assignments, homework, quizzes and you WILL pass. 33% of class failed the 1st midterm 20% the 2nd. I didn't pass ANY midterm or the Final, but i ended up with a B-, by maximizing non-test marks.
Very annoying to listen to in lectures. He sounds like he's emphasizing key points and being enthusiastic, but it you actually listen to what he's saying it's very unorganized, over-exaggerated, and opinionated (not an accurate representation of the field). He also thinks very highly of himself and makes it known. Least favorite prof in 4 years.
Too often does he just read off of the slides, and rush through lectures. He says "um" and "ok" a lot; I hate listening to him in class. You need to teach yourself the course material if you want to pass. Lectures are useless, only go for iclicker points.... He's definitely not great at teaching lectures. Read the textbooks!
When I had to retake stats I wasn't happy, but by the end of 300B I felt like I really had a handle on the material and was confident in learning more advanced stats. The course was organized decently with lots of opportunity for learning. My advice is to really go through the quizzes and homework, practice the calculations, and find a study group.
I dreaded having to take a stats class because math is not my forte, but Dr. Medler was able to make me understand the concepts easily, and was always there for extra clarification when needed. He can sometimes wander off track, but I found his lectures to be engaging and easy to listen to.
What an amazing prof! Hands down, he is the best prof I have had in the psyc department that teaches at Uvic regularly. He is heavily invested in teaching and his interest and eagerness to help us learn is evident. Show up, study and get an A, no need for text. You are missing out if you don't take classes with Medler. Easy multi choice tests.
What a great experience being in Medler's class. He spells everything out so clearly and gives so much practice work. If you do all of that then his tests are very doable. I was dreading this class and walked out with an A+ and I am looking forward to taking 300B with him! You are making a big mistake if you don't do Stats with Dr. Medler!
Dr. Medler is easily the best option that you can take for PSYC 300A/B. He is extremely intelligent and solely wants students to succeed. Exams were tough having to complete them in 45 minutes, but lots of opportunities to get a decent grade even if you don't do well on exams. I would have taken 300B with him if I could have with my schedule
Dr. Medler is one of the most passionate and funny professors I have had. He cares about his students and WANTS you to pass - you will pass if you put in the work. He also replies to emails super quickly, many times at 1am I emailed him and he replied in less than 10 minutes. He is extremely eloquent and lectures very well, great in office hours!
Dr. Medler is my favourite prof at UVic! He is so passionate about the material and makes it as interesting as it can be (not an easy task with stats). I am so glad that I was in his stats class this year and not in any other section! He made stats bearable and ensured that it was easy to pass the course as long as you put in a bit of effort.
Dr. Medler is the best choice for PSYC 300A/B if you hate math. He provides lots of opportunities to get marks, despite it being more work than some other profs. His tests are worth only 15-20%, making it a bit less stressful. I would highly recommend for PSYC 300A & B if you want a prof that WILL help you pass a tough class for non-math students
Had him for psyc 300a and he was the same excellent prof. Gave tons of practice and quizzes that helped you do well on tests. He makes the material easy to understand and applicable in daily life. All of his assignments and the term paper had clear grading criteria and he was always there for help. Probably the best prof in the psyc department.
I have had the pleasure of being in this man's class on many occasions and he is probably the best prof for psyc classes. His slides and lectures are abundantly clear and his quizzes help you prepare for tests. Always brings in his own life experience to make the lectures more practical. You are missing out if you haven't had Dr. Medler!
This guy really knows what student life is like. It's not enough just to have all the content in class.. Anyone, regarding their learning styles, will benefit from notes posted online. Not out of laziness, but in order to review for exams and finals. He's funny and charismatic in class, and does a good job at making a 2-hour class bearable.
Amazing prof. His first time teaching the course, but he was great. The exams are very straightforward. The lectures are interesting and engaging. I wish he taught PSYC100B as well. If Medler is teaching PSYC100A, I highly recommend choosing him.
Dr. Medler is a lovely prof who makes dry material interesting. He is kind, knowledgeable, engaging, and has very clear criteria. Exams can be a bit tough, but you are wholly prepared and know what to expect. Attendance is mandatory, as the material is cumulative and there are i-clicker points. Overall, highly recommend taking stats with him!
cares about the students and makes time for answering questions.
Wouldnt of taken this course with anyone else! I suck at math but I was able to do fairly well in this class! Although the tests were sort of hard there was other assignments to make up for it. Slides were very clear and helpful when studying. Also the study guides were great.
One of the best profs I've had! explains everything so it's really easy to understand and theres no textbook, literally everything is from his lecture slides. iclicker and online quizzes and homework also help boost your grade. The material does get harder at the end of the semester but overall was very easy and manageable.
His lectures are so confusing, I had Chim for the first half of 300b before she went on Mat leave and she's sooo much better. The slides don't have good examples/are hard to follow he does go slow but still difficult. The paper is marked very hard so don't expect a good grade on it. I would take with Chim over Medler if you have the choice.
Very good professor explains everything clearly, gives fear exams and there are online quizzes which really helped preparing for exams. Although iclicker is required and lectures are long, but these is a short break between lectures and Dr. Medler really tried to make these long lectures bearable.
Amazing teacher who inspired me into subjects within Psychology, which remarkably helped in other aspects in my life. Highly recommend to any student who is interested in a field relating to Science.
AMAZING PROF! Dr. Medler really knows how to make this topic exciting and appealing to student.s tHe made me want to do a minor in Psych.
Dr. Medler is actually the most unbelievable prof, he cares about the success of his students and he takes the time to solidify the material for you. He makes himself very accessible and is amazing at explaining things so that you can grasp them and apply them to the course. 5/5 would take any class with him.
I really enjoyed having Medler as my professor. He was always there to answer questions, and stopped during lecture if someone wasn't understanding something. He made things very clear and I would highly recommend taking his class, especially 300A and B if you'd like to pass the course.
Very challenging midterm. 1/3 of class got D or F. Seems to care less about if you know the stuff, more about how fast you can write it down. Not one person finished midterm before time was up. No scaling of grades. Would not recommend unless you can do calculations and write very fast under stress. Not a true demo of knowledge IMO. Disappointing.
Loved him last term but big difference this term, the first midterm was brutal. He admitted it was too long to write in only 40 mins and called our grades temporary. Then decided not to curve the grades. Suggested we study more next time. I got an A+ in 300A and a C- on 300B midterm. This class will be a big hit to the GPA.
I took my 100a and B with him He is one of my favourite people He is smart He has ethics And he cares about pedagogy I hope he sticks around Do all his qizzzes and you'll do better on the exam
Medler makes time for his students and wants you to succeed, if you do all the homework and quizzes and show up to class you can easily get an A, his test are based on the class assignments and homework and he gives you everything you need to succeed. He is super nice and always willing to talk after class.
Dr. Medler really wants you to do well. Having said that, there is SO MUCH material in this course and he moves at a very fast pace. I would have heart palpitations if I ever missed this class. Not uncommon to have a chapter introduced the day before a midterm. This course is intense, and I am so happy it is over.
He cares SO MUCH. His lectures are fantastic and he'll take the time to come at an explanation four different ways if it's not making sense. This class was still roughthere's a LOT of difficult material to cover, and it's very easy to fall behind if you miss a week + we got screwed over by the weather. I wouldn't take it with a different prof, tho
Knowledgeable and easy to understand. There are many assignments in lab sessions, but if you stick up with lectures, and read an online textbook, you can get higher a score.
I really enjoyed Dr. Medler, I found his exams to be a bit difficult though and sometimes the lectures dragged on. The lab was really helpful in learning how to write a research paper and Nicole was lovely as the instructor. It seems annoying at first but I learnt so much from the lab.
Medler gives great lectures whether you're good at math or not. I come from a math background and liked him and a friend of mine had no math background and still liked him. He expects continuous effort but if you keep up then his tests are very straightforward. Only downside is he's arrogant when talking to him one on one.
David Medler is one of the best teachers I've had at Uvic so far. He's unbelievably kind to his students. His lectures feel like a conversation, it's almost harder to not pay attention than it is to pay attention. Lovely guy and fantastic teacher. You put in the participation, you will get the grade. I want to be him when I grow up :)
I've had him for two classes now and he remains consistent. Fair market, and gives you the best chance to succeed with multiple ways to get grades.
Gave good examples in lecture to help understand course material. Need to go to class for iClickers and Class exercises (6 throughout the term with 5-6 group mates). Exams and marking was consistent. Lots of opportunities for getting grade up with exams, class exercises, homework, quizzes, and iClickers.
Truly a gem. Medler cares so much about his students and is clearly passionate about teaching. He turned a boring class into one of my favourites. If you put in the effort, he will do anything to help you do well. Would recommend Medler to anyone and everyone!
Medler knows his topic extremely well, but either because the Uni did not give him long enough classes, or because he simply does not care, the way he teaches the class is incomprehensible to the point of insanity. In order to follow his Stats lectures, you would have to know enough about the subject that showing up to class is overkill.
one of the best professors ive had at uvic. He made me actually enjoy stats, although I had to put a lot of time into the course, that is expected! but it was actually enjoyable and pretty straightforward. of course you NEED to attend lecures if you want to do well. But Medler was always available to meet up if you have any questions. super helpful
Always seems busy with something else BUT never seems detached/uninterested. I would recommend him as a stats prof, even if you're not great with numbers. You'll need to take **take your time ** with the homework & quizzes. The lectures don't really sink in without the practice; that's just the nature of the course. Do that, and you'll be fine
He is the best prof I have had! His methods of teaching and graded materials are very explicitly explained. I put stats off for years as I have never had strong math skills, but he makes every concept extremely clear and his slides show a step-by-step approach to everything. He is very passionate and I recommend everyone try to take stats with him.
He teaches his "own" form of statistics that does not translate anywhere else. Ego maniac. Unkind. Enjoys making people cry.
Super happy with this prof. Provided the most motivating online quizzes I've seen. 5 attempts, each attempt has different questions (can't cheat), and takes the average grade of all attempts to make your final quiz mark. Tricked me into studying. Pretty good lecturer, goes a bit too fast. No text so everything is in the lectures/provided material.
As long as you attend the lectures and do the homework, youll have no issue. Hes super clear and marks fairly. Made statistics easy! One of the better profs and uVic
Dr. Medler is a really great prof. He does an awesome job at getting you to understand stats and is willing to help and he goes out of his way to make sure you know what you're doing. The class is difficult and there's no textbook for 300A, but overall a really good class
Hes the best. So understanding. Takes time to answer questions and gives clear explanations. So nice.
Stats alone is hard enough, Dr. Medler taught the class (albeit online) in such a way that made it as engaging as possible. More so, I had a death in the family during the class and I have never met a more understanding and caring professor.
Medler was amazing online for 300A this term. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and if you pay attention and take good notes theres no reason to not do well. He provides lots of material to well prepare you and he made stats a very manageable course!! An awesome professor!!!
Dr. Medler made stats manageable, and was a great professor in general. Did not have to pay for a textbook because he teaches off lecture slides. He tried to give students as many marks as possible on calculations if you made an error. Attendance was not mandatory, but gave bonus credit. He is a good teacher, and won't make your class too hard.
This class is definitely difficult, but Dr. Medler tries hard to give everyone lots of practice before exams. His office hours were really useful over Zoom because you could come and listen to other people's questions. Just do the quizzes and the practice quizzes multiple times and make sure you can do all the homework questions before an exam!
Medler is the MVP. This man poured his heart and soul into the course for his students. He went above & beyond- he responded to every email asking for help and creates really well put together lectures. His grading criteria is clear and the tests were never a surprise in terms of tested material. I urge anyone taking stats to take it w/ Medler
Medler is so great. His material is well explained and if you pay attention and take halfway decent notes theres nothing stopping you from doing well in his class. Its clear that he cares about his students and will do whatever he can to give marks even if you didnt get the right answer. He makes stats make sense!
Really positive experience with a class I dreaded. While the course was difficult, Dr. Medler did his best to be very clear and helpful. Lots of homework and quizzes, but very beneficial to learn the concepts and equations. His teaching methods seemed to work really well for me personally and he is a kind prof who wants you to succeed!
He was a great prof. Thorough, clear, great at teaching and caring.
Dr. Medler is the key to succeeding in Psyc statistics. His caring demeanor and clear lectures lend themselves well to high student achievement. Likewise, his continuing accommodations for students in regards to the pandemic demonstrate how much he cares about the success of his students as well as their wellbeing. Would definitely recommend.
Biggest waste of my money for a class that my friend had to teach me instead. He rushes through content and will give you 30 slides where only 10 are things you will need to know for the exam. I don't know where all these nice ratings are coming from, did we go to the same class? This guy cares more about his own form of stats than his students!
Dr. I can make mistakes, but you cant Medler was generally a nice dude, but I pretty much taught myself everything by rereading the notes. He answers emails fast, but usually just says come to office hours. So glad 300a/b is over. Sheesh
Medler gives you all the tools and materials you need to do well in this course. After having a poor experience with a different prof *coughmylescough* it was a breath of fresh air to have a prof who understood the material. If you work diligently you will succeed. Thank you Dr. Medler for your professional teaching.
Good in class. kind of unnecessarily mean 1 on 1.
David is the original gangster of psych stats. His large collection of silk patterned button-downs will not disappoint you and neither will his lectures. He has a very friendly, dog-like energy that helps class fly by. He gave me a piece of chocolate after office hours once. Passionate, style savvy, impressive memory. Big brain energy
I was terrified about taking this course but Dr. Medler really took away my fears. I feel like the man could teach a child how to do stats.
Dr. Medler's teaching is clear and practical. I have applied his wisdom about statistics to many other matters. He ensures there are lots of opportunities to do well in the course, including labs and bonus iClicker points. While the material is challenging, he allotted time outside of class for extra help and to view exams. Truly inspirational.
Dr. Medler has been teaching this exact course for too many years, he thinks he has covered things when he hasn't. His Olympic sport is catching cheaters, he lacks clarity in his lectures and won't explain further. Never lets you know what kind of exam you will be taking, and threatens change them.
Dr. Medler was great, he does his best to keep lectures interesting. The exams are quite fair, just take good notes in class and do the homeworks and you will do well!
Medler makes this class far more tolerable than expected. His exams were online and open book with no time limit and he offered 3% total extra credit. He also posted all of his lectures on Brightspace and the slides from 300A, which is very helpful if you don't take them consecutively. Very clear and willing to slow down if asked.
I highly reccomend Dr. Medler as a professor. As someone who had never taken statistics, I was terrified going into it. Medler took away all my worries by his clear and fair expectations and evaluations. It is test heavy, but if you do the homework and quizzes it will prepare you well for the tests.
Teaching style was lecture heavy with no example problems to complete/walk through on our own in class. Did not allow for a personalized note sheet during the exam (unlike all of the other PSYC300A profs). Exams were generally confusing and nit-picky about conceptual content. Knowledgable prof, but the overall format worked poorly for me.
Dr. Medler was uncaring, unprofessional, and a tough grader.
Caring teacher, extends office hours during exam season. However, if you struggle with stats take it with a different teacher! Lectures do not have enough working examples. You'll have to teach yourself sometimes. Lectures do not get recorded and you are not allowed a cheat sheet for exams ( the other sections are allowed theses).
Explains topics very well and keeps your attention in class, easily accessible after class during office hours and very understanding and helpful.
I was very nervous doing stats for the first time but Medler is the head of the psych department and has perfected the course also his tests are fair and he's a great teacher but you definitely don't want to miss a class or you will struggle. He is fair and a great professor very thankful that I had him for my stats class.
Like a lot of other people, I was very nervous going into stats as I have never been good at math. However, David did a great job of explaining the concepts, and his homework assignments and quizzes mimicked the type of questions on the exam, so if you know how to do those, you'll have no problem with his exams. I definitely recommend David!
Dr. Medler is an amazing professor who is very knowledgeable about stats and makes it really easy to learn the material. I've never considered myself a math person but with how the course was laid out with homework and quizzes I found that I was able to do really well because you're practicing so much. I really recommend taking Medler for 300A.
David Medler is a clear professor and leaves time in class to practice material
Dr. Medler is THE PROFESSOR for stats. He is extremely passionate about it and that radiates through all of his lectures. Not to mention, he is the Associate Chair of Psychology at uvic so he is extremely respected! It is great taking a class with him because he truly cares about the work he puts out, as well as his students.
Dr. Medler is an outstanding professor! I had him for both 300A and 300B and he is definitely the professor you want to take for these courses. He's so engaging in lecture and makes the material very interesting and straight forward. His exams are extremely fair and the homework and quizzes are tailored perfectly to the content on the exams.
as someone who was not excited for stats, I was happy when Medler explained how he was going to go slow and start simple. Maybe he doesn't realize from his years in the field that his approach is not slow or simple, because so far a lot of the content has been poorly explained and quizzes have had a lot of content that he doesn't explain in class.
really not a fan of this professor at all. his slides are too vague and confusing and he doesn't provide many examples SO if you don't understand concepts right away it's hard to catch up later. he is unapproachable and loves to remind us how “simple” stats are which is really demeaning considering how difficult many students find the stats req.
Bummed to have caught this guy in his burnout semester. He had a hectic energy and seemed stressed out and unapproachable all semester.
Not a fan of teaching style
Great professor, I see why people speak so high of him. A few trick questions but overall fair tests. The best prof to take when taking 300A.
Professor Medler is a tough but fair stats teacher. While his lectures can be dense, the homework and quizzes really help prepare you. Definitely use unstuck ai and the textbook to stay on top of the material.
He's definitely not a friendly professor and could be quite obnoxious. My grades turn out to be good because I self-learnt a lot! He rushed through lots of concepts and lots of people are not following at all! Not recommended but he taught most of the stats course so might not be easy to avoid anyway…
Students taking this course are psychology students and aren't there because they are mathematicians - Medler fails to realize that. Creates the most confusing wording on his quizzes and then makes it impossible to find the answers in your notes. Good thing he is taking a leave for the next year, hopefully, it'll inspire him to change up the course
Medler forgets we're PSYC students. Important concepts in lecture are rushed in favour of bloat. Exams harder than other sections (no cheat sheet). Canceled almost all office hours from Midterm 2-Final, discouraged using actually helpful tutors (ego), & cut the 300B final to 2hrs vs 3hrs in 300A. If 300A was tough for you then avoid at all costs.
He lectures well but has his own bible of things that are correct only according to him. What do you mean having a cheat sheet made students perform worse so the other section taking the same exam gets one and we don't? You don't pass 300B you survive it
Loved his teaching last term. This term, I felt like there were too many trick questions that were meant to mess with you. I wish his tests simply tested your ability to do stats, not how well you can read his silly questions. Much harder than 300A (but thats not necessarily his fault).
Few in-class examples of challenging concepts. Not enough practice questions given for exams. Reviewing exam mistakes during office hours rushed and unhelpful. No cheat sheet, unlike other sections. Seems more interested in creating his own version of statistics than in student learning.
Great teacher, standard tests. Just make sure to study hard and you will do well!
